William Carl Johnson
William Carl Johnson, 87, of Kansas City, Missouri, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001. He was born October 4, 1913, in Arkansas, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Johnson. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist belief.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mallonee Johnson. Survivors include a son, Carl Wayne Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Joyce Smith of Tennessee; and several grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Olmstead Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Olmstead Chapel. Internment will follow in the Sidon Cemetery. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Incorporated.

Mary Clyde Baldridge
Mary Clyde Baldridge, 95, of Beebe, formerly of Winston, California, died Thursday, April 12, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Dee DuBusk of Cabot; and a son, Daniel O. Baldridge of Florence, Oregon.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Winston Cemetery in Winston, California. Local arrangements have been made by Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.

Thomas Marion Richardson
Graveside services for Thomas Marion Richardson were conducted Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Dogwood Cemetery in Griffithville, with Brother John Brock officiating.
"Amazing Grace" was sung by Junior McDoniel, accompanied on the harmonica by Allen Eans.
Pallbearers were Jeff McDoniel, Jerry Pence, Allen Eans, Junior McDoniel, Rollin Senko, and Tony Lewis.
Richardson is survived by his mother, Queen Ross Townson of Paragould; his aunt, Josephine Daie of Griffithville; his uncle, Don Ross of Kensett; one brother, Jack Richardson of Davis, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Pamela Hollingshead of DeValls Bluff; four half brothers; one half sister; and two grandchildren.
Local arrangements were made by McEuen Funeral Home of Searcy.

Nancy Catherine Fielder
Nancy Catherine Plant Baldridge Fielder, 87, died Friday, November 16, 2001. Born July 24, 1914, in Rose Bud to Charles and Sallie Plant, she was co-owner and worked for many years at the Baldridge General Store. She was a member of Rose Bud Methodist Church. 
She is survived by a daughter; Patricia Stark of Rose Bud; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Horace Baldridge and Howell Fielder; an infant son, Wiley Baldridge; one daughter, Carolyn Gail Baldridge; five sisters, Lola Cook, Bessie Wilkinson, Myrtle Mae Foreman, Lottie Rodgers, and Floy Arnold; and two brothers, Dewey Plant and Henry Plant.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, November 19, at Rose Bud Methodist Church, with burial at Rose Bud Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today, November 18, at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy.

Lana Janeen Solida
Lana Janeen Solida, 53, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001. She was born on July 27, 1947 in Denmark to John and Auneen Throckmorton Gibson. Janeen was an accomplished bowler, having received her Arkansas 650 Series award. She was a member of the Searcy Women's Bowling Association, serving as vice president for six years, Wednesday Morning Coffee League (Past President), Monday Night Lady All-Stars, Thursday Night Ladies League and Central Arkansas Women's Traveling Classic Bowling Association.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Solida; and two sons, Don Nunn and Jonathan Nunn, both of Bald Knob. 
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, in the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with burial at Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation is today from 4 to 9 p.m.

Roscoe H. Crafton
Roscoe H. Crafton, 79, of Searcy, died Sunday, June 24, 2001. He was born October 1, 1921, in Sidney to Curdy and Nora Mae Shaw Crafton. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, and a veteran in the Air Force in World War II. He owned and operated a service station in Searcy.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Crafton; one stepdaughter, Pat McClain of North Little Rock; one sister, Mrs. Jess Roten of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dean Crafton and C.L. Crafton; and one sister, Nora Redwine.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Valley Baptist Church, with burial at White County Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Searcy Funeral Home.

Myron Stroud
The funeral services for Myron Stroud of Beebe were conducted at Westbrook Chapel at 2 p.m. on December 21, 2001 with Richard Pectol officiating. The special song selections were "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden", and "Amazing Grace".
The pallbearers were Keith Barnett, Danny Barnett, David Barnett, Johnny Stroud, Robbie Stroud, Harry Belew and Joe I. Belew.
Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Floyd by W.L. Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Ava Langley Horton 
Ava Langley Horton, 92, of Bedford, Texas, died Sunday, April 15, 2001. She was a housewife and a Baptist. She was born to Luther Clarence and Margaret Catherine Martindill Langley on October 29, 1908 in White County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Horton, her parents Reverend and Mrs. L.C. Langeley; two brothers, Truett Langley and Henry Langley; one daughter, Jeanie Langley; and a grandson, Larry Langley.
She is survived by three daughters, Margie Edwards of Bedford, Texas, Anita Holliday of Redlands, California, and Marquita Mason of Colcord, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Chester Covington, of Searcy; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
Burial services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy.

Casey Lynn Archer
Casey Lynn Archer, 16, of Beebe, died Saturday, June 23, 2001. She was student at Beebe High School.
She is survived by her mother and dad, Danny and Vicki Cox of Beebe; her father, Greg Archer of Benton; two brothers, Tyler and Alex Cox of Beebe; her grandparents, James and Genell Casey of North Little Rock, Dale and Joyce Cox of Beebe, and Lona Archer of Hope.
The family will receive visitors tonight from 6 to 8 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Beebe First Assembly of God Church, with burial at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

Nora I. Stracener Stevens
Nora I. Stracener Stevens, 89, of Searcy died Saturday, November 17, 2001. The widow of Lenard L. Stevens. She was born October 22, 1912, to Winburn Wood and Carrie Bates Stracener, of Gravel Hill. Mrs. Stevens retired from Bird Eye, and a member of West Race Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Verlon Stevens and his wife, Bettye Stevens; daughter, Viola Shands and her husband, Donnie Shands; sister, Ovie Chamblee, of Texas; grandsons, Michael Stevens and his wife, Mary Stevens, Kenny Stevens, and Steve Shands and his wife, Cindy Shands; great-grandchildren, Justin and Nathan Stevens, Todd and Nicole Stevens, and Tayler, Keleigh and Julia Shands; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. Burial at White County Memorial Gardens. Eddie Bradley
Funeral services for Eddie Bradley of McCrory were conducted at Powell Funeral Home, Searcy at 1 p.m. on February 12, 2002 with Rev. Tom Steinen and Rev. Debra Collison.
The special song selections were "Go Rest High" by Michael English and "Yesterday" by Boyz II Men.
The pallbearers were Percy Gibson, Thomas Evans, Bobby Kittrell, OC Bumpers, Nathan Parnell and John Chestnut.
The honorary pallbearers were Erik Bradley, Freddie Bradley, Ray Bradley and Lee Bradley.
Burial was in New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta with arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy.

Anna Pauline "Polly" Washam
Anna Pauline "Polly" Washam, 82, of Floral, died Monday, February 11, 2002 at Batesville. She was born March 20, 1919 in Cairo, Illinois, to George and Della Thornton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Floral Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Sexton of Floral and Jerry Sexton of Batesville; two daughters, Phyllis Pearson of Judsonia and Jonna Williams of Pangburn; three grandsons; two granddaughters; one great grandson; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Washam; a grandson; two half brothers; and three sisters including Georgia Rhoades of Floral.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Floral Baptist Church with Jim Dillard officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery with arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Floral Baptist Church.
The pallbearers will be Evon Sharp, Lanny Frazier, Robert Harmon, Daryl Brown and Jerry Robbins.

Carol Lyn Guest Thompson
Carol Lyn Guest Thompson, 40, of Searcy was born November 16, 1961 in Searcy to Elijah and Marcia Guest and departed this life February 7, 2002. She was a member of Arnold Tabernacle CME Church. She worked at Land O'Frost in Searcy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Guest, her mother, Marcia Guest, and two sisters, Denise Lynette Cooperwood and Patty Guest.
Survivors include three sons; Anthony (Elidia), Christopher (Jamie) and Benjamin Thompson and one grandson, Anthony Lee Royce Thompson, all of Searcy. She is also survived by seven brothers, Elijah Guest of Corpus Christi, Texas; Robert, Steve and Bobby Guest, all of Atlanta, Georgia; Terri and Paul Lewis of Augusta; and Elbert Lewis of North Little Rock; nine sisters: Charlotte Holliman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Patsy Washington of Toledo, Ohio; Inez Culver of Atlanta, Georgia; Francine Hannah and Inette Chatman, both of Little Rock; Ella Watson, Carolyn Baker and Barbara Hadley, all of Kensett; and Gloria Woods of Augusta: two uncles, Steve Woods of Augusta; and Jim Woods of Sherrill; one aunt, Inez Richardson of Kansas City, Missouri; 49 nieces and nephews and 33 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Arnold Tabernacle Church in Kensett. Burial will be in White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy. A fund will be set up at First Security Bank to benefit the surviving children. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to this fund. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy.

L.V. Gardner
L.V. Gardner, 76, of Searcy died Saturday, April 14, 2001.
He was born in D'Lo Mississippi, the son of Sylvester and Idella Bass Gardner. He was a self-employed landscaper and custom tractor work contractor and was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Griffin Gardner, four sons, Butch Gardner of Searcy, Larry Gardner and Dwayne Gardner of Palestine, Texas and Charles Gardner of Charlotte, North Carolina. Eight daughters, Minnie L. Johnson and Maxine Levels of Ft. Worth, Texas, Willie Jean Gardner, Bobbie Gardner and Jerry L. Gardner of Searcy, Earnestine Tyler of Gardner, Texas, Beverly Williams of Mesquite, Texas and Paula Cooperwood of Kensett. Twenty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in White County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy.

Joe Gillham
Joe Gillham, 80, of Beebe, died Saturday, June 23, 2001. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a veteran of World War II, and a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Jonnell; one son, Tommy Gillham of Beebe; one daughter, Patricia Hancock of Peach Orchard; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Graveside services were held Monday at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.

Christine M. Bobbitt
Christine M. Bobbitt, 69, of South Bend, Indiana died November 16, 2001. She was born February 22, 1932 to Ike and Ella Slaven. She is widowed by her husband, Earl Bobbitt, formerly of Searcy, Arkansas. She is survived by son, Roger Bobbitt of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughters, Sue Comeau of Mishawaka, Indiana, Joann Overton of South Bend, Indiana, and Linda Smith of Osceola, Indiana; brothers, Larry Slaven , Kenneth Slaven and Harlan Slaven of Jamestown, TN; sisters, Helen Bobbitt of TN and Wilma Delk of Indiana; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at Mayflower Baptist Church, South Bend, Indiana. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Osceola, Indiana.

J. Tommy Pruitt
J. Tommy Pruitt, age 77, of Little Rock, died Saturday, April 14, 2001. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Baptist.
He is survived by his brother, C.W. Pruitt of Beebe; three sisters, Vernell Cady, Mary Jo Lanham and Janie Owen, all of Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine, and his son, Jimmy.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at 2 p.m., with burial in Antioch Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2001.

Hester Hackler
Hester Hackler, 86, of Beebe, died Sunday, June 24, 2001. She was a retired Certified Nurse's Assistant.
She is survived by two sons, Doyle Hackler of DeValls Bluff and Muriel Hackler of Carlisle; two daughters, Linda McCord and Carolyn Little, both of Austin; three sisters, Myrtle Gonzalez and Della West, both of Conway, and Annie Beard of Porterville, California; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Archie Hackler; three sons, Frank, Ralph, and Robert; and three granddaughters.
The family will receive visitors tonight from 6 to 9 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Daniel (Danny) Robert Dunn
Daniel (Danny) Robert Dunn, 58, of Pulaski County, died Surrounded by his family, November 17, 2001. Many words could be used to describe Danny, being Husband, Daddy, and Friend were important to him. Once someone said, "Danny is just like "Sara Lee", Nobody doesn't like Danny Dunn". He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Beth Dickie Dunn; sons Danny Shane Dunn of Jacksonville and Robert Lee Dunn of Cabot; one brother Rick Henry Dunn of Beebe; two sisters, Sherry Dunn Rose of Jacksonville and Dixie Dunn Patterson of West Palm Beach, Florida. He was called "Big Daddy" by his beautiful granddaughters Taylor and Alexis Dunn of Cabot. Nadey Jo Jones Dunn and Carrie Oliver Dunn became his daughters and were loved as his own. Each of his five nephews and six nieces were loved by "Uncle Danny". Danny was born on June 17, 1943 in Searcy, Arkansas to Daniel Robin Dunn and Dolores Bailey Dunn. They met him in heaven along with his loving grandparents Robert Garland "Pap" Dunn and Tressie Maude "Mom" Dunn. Danny was a master plumber and former owner of Dunn Plumbing Company in Jacksonville. He was employed as an outside sales representative for Arkansas Supply Company of North Little Rock. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam era. Danny's warm smile, king eyes and loving heart enriched the lives of all he touched. He made each person that knew him know they were valued and special. To be a friend of Danny was an honor that will not be forgotten. His love for the outdoors and the beautiful world of nature given to us by God was a gift he shared with all. His Christian witness was the quiet faith of a living example. He was a member of Highway Baptist Church in Sherwood. There is additional love in this world and it is a better place because of the example he set, acts of kindness he gave and the love that he shared. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Highway Baptist Church with interment at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 982-2136.

Henry A. Hampton Sr.
Henry A. Hampton Sr., 92, of DeValls Bluff, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Stuttgart. He was born September 28, 1909, at Perkins, Missouri, to Henry A. Hampton and Monie C. St. Cin Hampton. He was a logging and landclearing contractor. He was a member of Biscoe Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Hampton of DeValls Bluff; one daughter, Mae Ann Luebker of Romance; one sister, Ann Bailey of Bradenton, Florida; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruth Phillips Hampton; one son, Henry A. Hampton Jr.; a grandson, Gerald Hampton; a granddaughter, Penny Luebker; a brother, Charlie Hampton; and two sisters, Dale Dean and Peggy Reynolds.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the Assembly of God Church in Biscoe with Brother Jerry Smith, Brother Tom Hoskins, Brother David Rogers, and Brother Mark Kirkpatrick officiating.
Pallbearers are Ricky Hampton, Tony Hampton, Justin Luebker, Kyle Childers, Paul Osborne, and Terry Singleterry. Honorary pallbearers are Dewey Hall, Billy Keys, I.B. Williams, Billy Williams, Billy Patterson, Marcellis Mertens, Everette Oates, and Howard Hall.
Interment will be in White County Memorial Gradens in Searcy.
Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church in Biscoe or to the Biscoe Cemetery Association.

Truel C. Payne
Truel C. Payne, 73, of McRae, died Sunday, November 18, 2001. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Janell Payne of McRae; three sons, Roger and Randy Payne both of McRae, and Richard Payne of Heber Springs; three brothers, Harold Payne of Griffithville, George Payne of Searcy and Bill Payne of Pleasant Plains; three grandsons, Bradley of Italy, Texas, Steven of Sherwood and Ryan of Mississippi; one granddaughter, Colleen Payne of Conway; one great-granddaughter, Devan Payne of Italy, Texas. Family will be at Westbrook Funeral Home from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2001, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Dorothy Faye Rogers, 50, of Beebe died Sunday, November 18, 2001. Surviving are her mother, Bessie Langley of El Paso; one son, Tommy Joe Dixon of Cabot; one daughter, Wendy Gail Beverage of Jonesboro; one brother, Steve Langley of Little Rock; three sisters, Joye Ramsey of Mayflower, Jane Collins of Beebe, and Ellen Patrom of El Paso; two grandchildren, Jessie Wayne Dixon and Carrie Jo Beverage.
