: Hi,
: Seeking any info on family members with these last names-Pelawa, Motzko, Pogreba, Stotko, Gritz. They all came from Poland and believed to have settled in Waverly and Browerville,Minnesota. Any info would help.
: Thank you.

For your information...The Motzko name, with a symbol between the o and t that has no match to the current English alphabet, but looks somewhat like a lower case j, appears frequently in Roman Catholic church records of the 1600s in the village of Gnezda, Hungary. This is now Hneizdne, Slovakia, which is just to the south of Poland.
The Motzko name evolved to Montsko and then to Moncsko.
Do you have information on where the Motzkos lived in Poland? Is that name Polish in origin?

Thanks!!!
