BAILEYSVILLE -- Eula Mae Vanderpool Bartley, 67, formerly of Bramwell and McDowell County, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at a Beckley hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1930, at Logan, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Stewart and Lucy Marcum Duty.
Mrs. Bartley was a homemaker and was of the Jesus Name faith. She had lived in Baileysville the past 10 years.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle Colliver, Polly Vance and Jessie Hall.
Survivors include her husband, William Jason Bartley; a son, Robert Vanderpool and his wife, Wanda Lee, of Wapakoneta, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Bonnie) Haley of Fort Washington, Md., Mrs. Rick (Norma) Helmandollar of Bramwell, Mrs. Irvin (Debbie) Lee of Trace Fork and Sandra Kay Bartley of Asheville, N.C.; seven sisters, Mrs. Charles (Sarah) Adams of Big Creek, Mrs. Jack (Brooke) Casey of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Mrs. Jay (Lucille) Hadden of Oakdale, Pa., Mrs. Johnny (Carrie) Meade of Lake, Mrs. Bud (Joan) Ferguson of Chapmanville, Mrs. Roy (Janet) Chambers of Six Mile and Mrs. Ralph (Patsy) Parsons of Six Mile; three brothers, Taylor Duty and his wife, Patsy, of Omar, Harrison Duty and his wife, Roseanne, of High Point, N.C., and Tommy Duty and his wife, Linda, of Wapakoneta, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Fanning Funeral Home Chapel, Welch, with the Revs. Tom Jones and Paul Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens near Pecks Mill, Logan County.

RAINELLE -- Drema Elizabeth Bennett, 57, of 317 Ohio Ave., Rainelle, died at 11:38 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 1998, in a Roanoke, Va., hospital following a short illness.
Born Dec. 27, 1940, at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Bourne and Gladys Ward Lane.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Church of Christ at Rainelle and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lester Bennett Jr.; a stepfather, David Lester Lane; and a brother, Hubert Bourne.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Bennett; two brothers, Roy Bourne of Morgantown and David Lane of Hinton; four sisters, Genevive Barney of Leesburg, Fla., Dorothy Gaylor of Beckley, Delsie Hodge of Covington, Va., and Garnet Lilly of Fincastle, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Minister Larry Harrington officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Burial Park, Hinton.

Born June 11, 1931, at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Alberta Del Moro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Fred Bolen; a daughter, Gail Ann; and three brothers, Frank, Vittorio, and Pete Del Moro.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Bolen and his wife, Judi, Dale Bolen and Gary Bolen; two daughters, Linda Cumbow and her husband, Greg, and Angela Allshouse; a brother, Charles Del Moro, and his wife, Ruth; two sisters, Nina Appleton and Mary Del Moro; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Beckley. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

THORNTON -- Elbert Leroy Gilbreath Jr., 57, formerly of Shady Spring, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at his home of a gunshot wound.
Born Jan. 3, 1941, at Crow, he was the son of Hazel Worley Gilbreath, of Gerrardstown, and the late Elbert L. Gilbreath Sr.
Mr. Gilbreath was a coal miner and a U.S. Navy veteran, and he had been a resident of Thornton for the past two years, having lived most of his life at Shady Spring.
Other survivors include his wife, Drema Boothe Gilbreath; two sons, Jeffrey Keith Gilbreath of Clarksville, Tenn., and Adam Gilbreath of Thornton; two daughters, Vicky Foley and her husband, Dan, of Beaver, and Debbie Shrewsbury, of Danese; a brother, Ben Gilbreath and his wife, Karen, of Jupiter, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brian Lilly, Brad Lilly, and Luke Foley; a stepson, Justin McCumbers of Grantsville; and a niece, Sandy Gilbreath of Hagerstown, Md.
Services will be 8 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Dr. Larry Halsey officiating.

Emma Ruth Day Grubb, 76, of Beckley died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at her son's home in Middlebrook, Va.
Born Aug. 2, 1921, at Gatewood, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Ralph and Kathleen White Day.
Mrs. Grubb was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Raleigh County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester David Grubb; a grandson, William W. Woods III; and a great-granddaughter, Victoria Allen.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Grubb and his wife, Lea, of Middlebrook, Va., Richard Grubb and his wife, Barbara, of Berryville, Va., and Chester Grubb and his wife, Mary, of Winchester, Va.; three daughters, Beverly Mays and her husband, Curtis, of Gastonia, N.C., Sina Woods of Oak Hill and Alesia Moody of Verona, Va.; three brothers, Patrick Ralph Day of Oak Hill and D.R. and Douglas Eugene Day, both of Burlington, N.C.; seven sisters, Betty Seelinger and Christina Little, both of Burlington, N.C., Frances Maiden of Barboursville, Arvada Ashworth of Dayton, Ohio, Mildred Raddi of Granger, Ind., Kay Pennington of Shady Spring and Colleen Irvin of Beaver; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were 3 p.m. Sunday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Parker officiating. Entombment followed in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.

Born April 29, 1921 in Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of Martha Forren.
Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker and a member of the Hines Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Verne, of Columbus, Ohio, Kaye Hicks, of Rainelle; a granddaughter, Barbara Coleman and a great-grandson, Deban Coleman, both of Columbus, Ohio.

WHITESVILLE -- Blanche D. Miller, 94, died Friday, May 8, 1998 in a Charleston hospital.
Born March 31, 1904 at Brownstown, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Grover and Lillian Motsinger Davis.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, a retired teacher of the Boone County Board of Education with 38 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Miller.
Survivors include two daughters, Lonita Hudson, of Whitesville, Uva Mae Salter, of Beckley; two sons, Darrell D. Miller, of Silver Spring, Md., Odean D. Miller, of Laughlin, Nev.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Ruth Jennings Stevenson, 72, of Rt. 2, Box 366 F., Bluefield, Va., formerly of Itmann, died Saturday, May 9, 1998 at her home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 3, 1926 at Roderfield, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Tichie Dunigan Jennings.
Mrs. Stevenson devoted her life to her family and was a dedicated member of Sweet Home Baptist Church, Princeton, and had been a resident of Bluefield, Va. for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joann Lusk and Drema Sue Jennings; and five brothers, Onnie, Hubert, Charlie, Earl, and Luther Jennings.
Survivors include her husband, George W. Stevenson, of the home; three sons, James Stevenson and his wife, Diana, of Mt.
