MRS. LASSIE TRIPLETT
Mrs Lassie Triplett, 65, of Davy, died at her home early Sunday morning of a heart condition.  She had been in failing health for the past few years.
She was born Sept. 25, 1892, in Pike County, Ky. and had been a resident of Davy for the last 22 years.
Surviving her are her husband Nathan; a step son, Walter of Davy; a step daughter, Mrs Alberta Speery of Jolo; two sons, Nathan Jr., of Premier and Lennis with the U.S. Air Force in Japan; a sister, Mrs. Julius Burgett of Williamson.
Funeral services for 2 p.m. today at the Big Jenny Church with the Rev. Amos Belcher in charge.  Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Steps Baptist Church in Sidney, Ky. with the Rev. Arnold Edmonds and the Rev. George Runyon officiating.  Burial will be made in the Steps Cemetery at Sidney.
Fanning Funeral Home of Welch has charge of arrangements.


AGNES BURKE SHAFFER
Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Agnes Burke Shaffer of Wheeling.  Mrs. Shaffer died at North Wheeling hospital at 9:30 a.m. Monday following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Shaffer was the sister of the Very Rev. George J. Burke, pastor of the Sacred Heart church here, and the late Very Rev. Wilbur Burke, former Sacred Heart church pastor.
Services will be held at St. Mary’s church in South Wheeling Thursday morning at 10 o’clock, with the Very Rev. Father George Burke in charge of the services.


MRS. VERGIE LEE CLINE
Funeral services for Mrs. Vergie Lee Cline, 65, of Baisden who died yesterday morning in a Man hospital following a short illness will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Julian Cline church with the Rev. Glen Meade and the Rev. J. C. Bragg Jr. officiating.  Intement will follow in the family cememtery at Baisden.
Mrs Cline was born at Warrencliffe on October 2, 1891 the daughter of John and Nancy Chapman Brown.  She had been a resident of Baisden for the past 40 years and had also been a member of the Church of God of Baisden.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Cline, one daughter, Miss Naomi Cline, and three sons, Julian, Harland, and Elmer all of Baisden, and one other son Cletus, who is a resident of New Lebanon, O., one brother, Robert of Saginaw, Mich., and two half brothers, Alfred Chapman of Newark, Del., and Kennie Chapman of Norfolk, Va.   The body will be removed today at 1 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home at Gilbert to the residence.


D. D. STOWERS
Dailey  D. Stowers, 79, retired carpenter, died suddenly yesterday morning at 9:30 o’clock at his home on the Falls Mills Road, Bluefield, Va.
Mr. Stowers was born in Bland County Va..  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Taylor Stowers; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Blankenship and Mrs. Juanita Evans, of Bluefield, Va., and a sister, Mrs. Arthur Dailey, also of Bluefield, and three grandchildren.
The body will remain at Dudley Memorial Mortuary on the Virginia pending completion of arrangements.
Mr. and Mrs. Stoweres would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1 had he lived.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Dudley Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Leonard Repass and B. H. Hampton officiating.  Interment is in the Maple Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tom and Sam Vernon, Clarence and Hubert  Evans, Orin and R. W. Rolen, Richard and Ed Milsap.


CURTIS EUGENE SLUSS
Curtis Eugene Sluss, Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Sluss, of Harman, Va., died Sunday in a Grundy hospital.
Survivors include the parents, two sisters Emma Jane and Connie Sue, at home; one brother, Hershel, at home; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Price, of Richardson, Ky.; and the paternal grandfather, Johnny Sluss, of Skeet Rock, Va.
The body was romoved from the Virginia Funeral Home in Grundy to the residence yesterday afternoon.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Artrip Cemetery at Skeet Rock, Va.


MRS. NORA HURLEY
Mrs. Nora Hurley, 37, of Kelsa, Va., died at a Grundy hospital Sunday after a long illness.
Survivors include the husband, Arthur; four daughters, Charlene, Rhonda Alice, Shelby Jean, and Darlene, all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hurley, of Argo, Ky., five brothers, Willie, of Mohawk, Ernest, of Cinderella, Andrew,Dennis, and Aldie, all of Argo, Ky.; five sisters, Mrs. Leander Lester, of Mohawk, Mrs. Dewey Dawsonk, of Deel, Va., Mrs. James Vier, of Stopover, Ky., Miss Phyllis Hurley and Miss Marie Hurley, both of Argo, Ky.
The body was removed from the Virginia Funeral Home to the residence at Kelsa, Va., yesterday afternoon, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. wth the Rev. Claude Compton in charge.  Interment will be at Charles Cemetery in Kelsa.


BOSTIC FAMILY
A joint funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today for a Tazewell County family of six, who perished in a fire at their home Friday night.
The service will be conducted at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Abbs Valley, just a few feet in front of where the six members of the Roy Bostic family died.  The Rev. Howard Bostic will officiate and interment will be in the Duty Cemetery at Duty, Buchanan County, Va.
One member of the family survives.  He is Kenneth Bostic, 11, who was found at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bostic.  It was first believed that all members of the family had perished.
Roy Bostic, 45, his wife, Imogene 35, and four daughters, Alice May, 9, Barbara Sue, 7, Mary Ellen, 5, and Wanda Sue, 3, were burned to death in the blaze.


AMOS HOWELL
Funeral services for Amos Howell fo West Honaker Street, Princeton, who died Sunday will be held today at 2:30 p.m. from the Blacklick Community Church near Princeton with the Rev. Lee Warden and Rev. John Asbury officiating.  Burial is in the Brown Cemetery.
The body remains at Baily Funeral Home until one hour prior to services when it will be placed in the church.
