CARPENTERSVILLE--Ronald R. Alderman, age 62, died Tues., Oct. 23, 2001,
at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. He was born Nov. 4, 1938, in Tomah,
WI, the son of Raymond and Maves (Goodbear) Alderman. He was anU.S. Army
veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He loved to travel, hunt, and he enjoyed
country music. He was a transporter for senior citizens. Ronald was also
an active member of the Ho-Chunck Nation.
He is survived by his father, Raymond of Adams, WI; a daughter, Brandee
L. Alderman of Carpentersville; 2 brothers, Lorenzo (Dorothy) of Fridley,
MN, Alvin ``Shorty'' (Pat) of Edgerton; a sister, Vivian Flitsch of Edgerton,
WI; a granddaughter, Savanna F. Dennis of Carpentersville. He was preceded
in death by his mother in 1988; his wife, Faye M. ``Red Owl'' Alderman
in 1987.
Visitation will be held on Fri., Oct. 26, from 4 to 9 p.m. at MILLER
FUNERAL HOME, West Dundee, and on Sunday at the ROSEBERY FUNERAL HOME in
Friendship, WI from 9 until 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow in Mt. Repose Cemetery in Friendship.
Allen, Helen M.
July 18, 1906 - Oct. 23, 2001
JANESVILLE--Helen M. Allen, age 95, of 1700 S. River Rd., died Tues
day, Oct 23, 2001 at Cedar Crest. She was born July 18, 1906 in Illinois,
the daughter of John and Eleanor Evans. She married Richard E. Allen on
Sept. 12, 1930 in Chicago, IL., he died on Feb. 12, 1988. Mrs. Allen was
a member of First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by several nieces
and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2,
2001 at the Cedar Crest Chapel. Rev Bruce Jones and Rev Glenn Skatrud officiating.

Balk, Charles Paul
Feb. 14, 1933 - Oct. 29, 2001
PALMYRA--Charles Paul Balk, age 68, of Tamarack Road, died Mon., Oct.
29, 2001, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 14, 1933, the son of Paul
and Elizabeth (Weslow) Balk in Pennsburg, PA. He moved to the Dousman area
and resided with his aunt and uncle, Suzanne and John Schmidt. He joined
the Marine Corps. and served in the Korean conflict. He married Kathleen
Marsh on March 19, 1955, in Sullivan, WI. He was employed at Wern Farms,
he was a self-employed bulk milk hauler for Dean's Foods, worked for the
Palmyra Police Department and the Palmyra Public Works Department. Upon
retirement, he was employed part time by the Blue Springs Lake Management
District. He was Town of Palmyra Constable for 30 years, retired member
of the Palmyra Fire Department, life member of the Tri-County Marine Corps
League, Palmyra Lions Club and life member of the Whitewater V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; 3 children: William (Joan) of
Palmyra, Robert (Debra) of Eagle, Lisa (Peter) Griep of Whitewater; 4 granddaughters:
Stephanie Balk, Brooke, Carlee Balk and Molly Griep; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law;
mother-in-law, Martha Marsh and many cousins; nieces and nephews. He is
preceded in death by his parents; aunts; uncles and father-in-law, Kenneth
Marsh, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., Nov. 2, 2001, at ST.
MATHEW LUTHERAN CHURCH in Palmyra. Pastor Steven Blyth will officiate with
burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Palmyra with full Military Honors. Visitation
will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mathew's Lutheran Church

Bishop, Dorothy Ann Rusk Geddes
Oct. 15, 1925 - Oct. 25, 2001
JANESVILLE/VIROQUA--Dorothy Ann Rusk Geddes Bishop, age 76, died at
her home in Janesville on Thurs., Oct. 25, 2001 after a long illness with
Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on Oct. 15, 1925 in DeSoto, WI to Seymour
and Ruth (Powell) Rusk. She lived in West Salem, LaCrosse and Viroqua.
On Aug. 12, 1945, she married Roy B. Geddes, Jr. They farmed in the Viroqua
area until 1952 when they moved into Viroqua. Mr. Geddes died on Aug. 8,
1957. Dorothy then went to work and became an announcer and writer for
WISV radio station in Viroqua where she was one of the original employees.
She continued to work there until 1963. On July 15th, 1960, she married
Paul Bishop. She had worked at St. Francis Hospital in LaCrosse and Verex
Assurance Corporation in Madison before her retirement due to failing health.
Dorothy loved to sing and shared her talent at church, weddings, funerals
and other events. She also was an excellent seamstress, a trait she inherited
from her father and grandfather who always put family first. We will miss
her greatly.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Stephen Roy Geddes (Lynn)
of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter, Vicki Nell Geddes Bouziane (Thomas) of Janesville;
4 grandchildren: Emil Geddes of Philadelphia, PA, Andrew Geddes of Cincinnati,
OH, Alexander "Alex" Bouziane and Katharine "Katie" Bouziane, both of Janesville;
her brothers and sisters: Louise McFarland (Daryl) of Algoma, IA, Ella
Elaine Hall of LaCrosse, Harold Jerry Rusk (Cecelia) of Myrtle Creek, OR,
Bonnie Lewis (Elwood) of Hebron, IN, Lawrence K. Rusk (Peggy) of Hayward,
Donald Rusk (Gladys) of Kokomo, IN; her very dear sister-in-law and friend,
Nellie Geddes Doerr of Janesville; 2 sisters-in-law, Ilda Geddes Zitzner
of Viroqua, Iola Geddes Larson of Maysville, MO; a brother-in-law, Gerald
Bishop (Doris) of Wildwood, FL; other relatives and special friends, Donna
Hutter and Kathy Young. She was also preceded in death by her parents;
an infant sister; a sister, Carol Rusk; a brother, Clarence "John" Rusk.
A special thank you for the care provided by Hospice, Jeff Popp, Tammy
Pence and Blanche Franke. Also thanks to the many friends from the Roxbury
Church of Christ, Cedar Acres Adult Day Care, Mercy Adult Day Care, Alzheimer's
Support Center, Peg Slaybeck and Fr. Del Klink for his prayers and gentle
counseling.

VIROQUA CHURCH OF CHRIST, with Pastor Ron Ahlgren officiating. Burial will
be in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 until 6 p.m.
at the THORSON FUNERAL HOME in Viroqua and at the church from noon until

Behrens, Gerald D.
March 2, 1933 - Oct. 18, 2001
ELKHORN--Gerald D. Behrens, age 68, of County Road A, Elkhorn, died
on Thurs., Oct. 18, 2001 at his residence. Jerry was born on March 2, 1933
in Gilbert, IL, the son of Herman and Clara (Rintz) Behrens. Jerry married
Marie Schjoth on Jan. 26, 1990, in St. Charles, IL. Jerry owned and operated
the Algonquin Glass Co. of Algonquin, IL for over 28 years, retiring in
1998. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jerry was
a member of the Algonquin American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; 5 children: Judy Sorenson of Algonquin,
IL, Jerry Jr. and Beverly Harding, both of Crystal Lake, IL; Debbie Michaelis
of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Barbara Taube of Holland, MI; 10 grandchildren;
a brother and 5 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2
brothers.
Graveside services with military rites by the Elkhorn American Legion
and VFW are to be held at 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 20, 2001, at Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery, Tibbets, WI, with the Rev. Dr. Wallace Christen officiating.

Blihovde, Donald M.
March 11, 1941 - Oct. 18, 2001
EDGERTON--Donald M. Blihovde, age 60, died Thurs., Oct. 18, 2001 at
home surrounded by his family. He was born on Mar. 11, 1941 in LaCrosse,
the son of Morris and Evelyn (Larson) Blihovde, and he graduated from Cashton
High School in 1959. Don was a Janesville resident for 35 years, and has
been a Edgerton resident for the last 8 years. He married Arlene Weber
on Oct. 29, 1960 in Middle Ridge, WI; she preceded him in death on May
20, 1990. He married Karen L. Rittenhouse on Aug. 13, 1994 at their farm
in Edgerton. Don was employed by General Motors for 30 years retiring in
May of 1989. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, UAW Local
95, a member of Wisconsin Harness Horse Assn., and Mule and Donkey Assn.,
winning the Pacer of the Year award in 1989, and runner up for Trotter
of the Year in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, going to casinos,
and listening to Country Music, especially George Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; father, Morris Blihovde of Cashton;
4 daughters: Ann Krause of Sun Prairie, Kathy Otis, Sandy (Shawn) McDonald
both of Madison, and Barb (Gordy) Beyer of Holmen, WI; 6 grandchildren:
Adam, Aubrie, and Alex Krause, Zachary and Jessica McDonald, and Seth Beyer;
a brother, Gary (Julie) Blihovde of Janesville; a sister, Jeannie (Dave)
LeDoux of Elgin, IL; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law,
relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn;
and first wife, Arlene.

Bickham, Ruth E. (Morrison)
Aug. 31, 1907 - Oct. 23, 2001
DELAVAN--Ruth E. Morrison Bickham, age 94, of 1025 S. Second St., died
at Willowfield Nursing Home, Delavan on Oct. 23, 2001. Ruth was born on
Aug. 31, 1907 in Louisiana, the daughter of Frank and Ruth Webster. She
married Joseph Morrison in Louisiana; he predeceased her. She then married
Elijah Bickham; he died in 1964. Ruth received her associate degree in
Culinary Arts in 1933. For over 20 years, Ruth owned and operated Glady's
Chicken Shack in Delavan. She also had a barbequed ribs and chicken stand
at the Walworth Co. Fair for over 30 years. She was an active member of
the Delavan United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women.
She will be fondly remembered for her warm, loving nature, her penchant
for dressing beautifully, and her designer hats.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Frank (Paula) Morrison of Chicago, devoted
son, Nord Morrison of Delavan, Albert (Dorothy) Morrison of Nashville,
TN; a daughter, Neomi Morrison of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her 2 husbands, her best friend, Bill Sharp; 2 sons,
Joseph and Charlie; 4 brothers and 12 sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Fri., Oct. 26, 2001, at the BETZER
FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Cynthia Kristopiet officiating. Burial will be
in Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10
a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, October 29. Memorials to the methodist church

JANESVILLE-- Brian J. Bishop, age 26, of 2107 N. Sumac Dr., died Tues.,
Oct. 16, 2001 at home. He was born on Dec. 19, 1974 in Janesville, the
son of James and Sandra (Alderson) Bishop. Brian graduated from Craig High
School, and served in the US Navy. He enjoyed reading, especially Native
American History, writing, and poetry. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing,
and hunting.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Sandy Bishop of Janesville;
a brother, Darin (Angie) Bishop of Janesville; maternal grandparents, Leonard
and Ruth Alderson of Janesville; a niece, Brittany; 2 nephews, Dylan and
Jordan; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in
death by his paternal grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 19, 2001 at
St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Garchow and Rev.
David Ramel officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.

Brussat, Thelma W.
March 18, 1908 - Oct. 15, 2001
JANESVILLE--Thelma W. Brussat, age 90, a resident of Cedar View Health
Care Center, died there Mon., Oct. 15, 2001. One of seven children, Thelma
was born in Elwood, IN on March 18, 1908, the daughter of George and Iva
(Gross) Evans. Thelma graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a
degree in library science. She met her future husband Ray S. Brussat in
Antigo, WI when she was a librarian and he was a history teacher there.
They were married in Elwood, IN on Aug. 23, 1933. They moved to Janesville
in 1935 because her husband took a job as a social studies teacher and
coach at the Janesville Junior High School and later transferred to the
Janesville High School. They stayed in Janesville as his career took him
from teacher to principal of Marshall Junior High School and eventually
principal of Franklin Junior High School. Thelma worked at the Janesville
Library, substituted at the Janesville High School Library and was a member
of First Baptist Church.
Thelma had the first of her 3 daughters in 1934 and became a homemaker
whose talents included making beautiful clothes and excellent pies. She
continued being the family historian and researcher, always looking up
facts in the dictionary or encyclopedia during many family discussions.
She always claimed her proudest achievement was being the mother of 3 daughters.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Joan (Jerry) Cole of Wichita, KS, Nancy
Brussat of Chicago, IL, and Karen (Jeff) Butler of Norwalk, CT; 6 grandchildren;
2 great-grandchildren; dear friends, Velma and Michael Burke of Janesville.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her great-granddaughter,
Kalavani Tessa Butler; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 10, 2001 at
the CEDAR CREST CHAPEL, with Rev. Glenn Skatrud officiating. The family
is being assisted by Whitcomb-Lynch-Overton Funeral Home.
Boutelle, Valerie Voss Ann
May 14, 1951 - Oct. 31, 2001
DELAVAN--Valerie Voss Ann Boutelle, age 50, of 633 Bowers Blvd. died
at her home on Wed., Oct. 31, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Valerie was born May 14, 1951 in Elkhorn, the daughter of James Voss and
Beatrice Jackett. Valerie graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in
1969. She married Edward W. Boutelle July 8, 1972 in Delavan, WI at Our
Redeemer Lutheran Church. Valerie graduated from Univ. of Wis-Whitewater
with her bachelors degree in Elementary Education and received her masters
degree from Nat. Louis University in Chicago. Valerie taught for 14 years
at West Side Elementary School in Elkhorn as a 4th grade teacher. Valerie
was active in her community, member of Jaycets of Delavan, Delavan Junior
Women's Club, Wis. Education Assoc., and active in Our Redeemer Lutheran
Church. Valerie was a loving mother and wife and enjoyed and loved the
children she taught at Westside Elementary School.
Valerie is survived by her husband, Edward; 2 daughters, Courtney (Patrick)
Peyer of Delavan, Hannah at home; a son, Jay (Miranda) of Madison, AFS
daughter, Jessica Franzen of Stockholm Sweden, a brother, Charles (Marie)
Voss of Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Nancy
Voss McSweeney.
Funeral services will be at noon, Sat., Nov. 4, 2001 at OUR REDEEMER
LUTHERAN CHURCH, with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Friends may

Brewer, George James "Jim"
March 12, 1920 - Nov. 5, 2001
EAST TROY--George James "Jim" Brewer, age 81, passed away peacefully
at home on Nov. 5, 2001. He was born on March 12, 1920 in Center Point,
IN, where he received his education. On March 18, 1944, he married LaVerne
(Haslam) in Mukwonago. The couple made their home in East Troy, where they
operated a family farm for many years and later both enjoyed working for
the East Troy Community School District. He was past master of the Masonic
Laflin Lodge No. 247, St. James Lodge No. 41, held his 32nd Degree from
the Scottish Rite, was a past patron of the OES Vesper Chapter No. 12 and
member of Labelle Chapter No. 40. Jim was dearly devoted to the Masons
and enjoyed holding many offices throughout his Masonic career. Both Jim
and his wife are charter members of the Mukwonago United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; 12 children: Dennis, Richard,
Jon, Charles (Lynn), Thomas (Tammy), Scott, Keith, Cynthia (Joseph) Dooley,
Beth (Donald) Archer, Janice, Kay, and Julie (Paul) Hollenbeck; a sister,
Mary (Harland); a cousin, Margaret Ann Hardy; 14 grandchildren: D.J., Glen
(Beth), Robin, Michael, Amanda (Michael) Karangelen, Thomas, Debbie Fryman
(Steve Paddock), Sara (Tommie) Trewyn, Brian, Christy, Jason, Timothy,
Melissa, and Nicole; 4 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Quinn Paddock, Gabrielle
and Jacob Trewyn; 3 sisters-in-law: Sarah (Dr. W.E.) Rosenkranz, Maxine
(Howard) Strickler, Hazel Brewer; brother-in-law, Mike (Dorothy) Haslam;
nieces; nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death
by his parents; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at HERITAGE FUNERAL
HOME in East Troy, from 4 until 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
and funeral services at immediate following. The Committal Service will
be held on Fri., Nov. 9, 2001 at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., followed
by interment at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago. In lieu of other expressions
of sympathy, the Brewer family has suggested memorials to Rolland Nelson
Crossroads Hospice, ProHealth Care Transportation Services at Waukesha
Memorial Hospital or Mukwonago UCC.
Campbell, Burlie
July 11, 1930 - Oct. 28, 2001
VIROQUA--Burlie Campbell, age 71, formerly of Soldier's Grove, passed
away on Sun., Oct. 28, 2001, at his home. He was born on July 11, 1930
in Soldier's Grove. He graduated from Soldiers Grove High School. On June
16, 1950, he married Florence Koch. He owned a grocery store and a restaurant,
both in Soldiers Grove. Later he sold insurance and was a real estate broker.
He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Burlie enjoyed many activities
with family and friends, including golf, card games and cussing and pacing
the living room when his beloved Packers were playing. He loved spending
time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His calls to ask about
how the basketball and football games came out will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Viroqua, 3 children: Steve
(Barbara) Campbell of Hurley, WI, Randy (Carol) Campbell of Janesville,
Laura (Richard) Christenson of Mt. Vernon, WA, 7 grandchildren: Steve Campbell
of Tomah, Nathan (Sue) Campbell of Westby, Adam Campbell of Janesville,
Dustin Hoffland of Gainesville, GA, Milly Campbell of Hurley, Robbie Campbell
of Janesville, Megan Christenson of Mt. Vernon, WA; a great grandson, Jordan
Campbell of Tomah; a sister, Diedre Larson of Soldiers Grove; a brother,
Philip (Vickie) Larson of Soldiers Grove; a brother-in-law, Tom Walsh of
Soldiers Grove; 3 sisters-in-law: Phyllis Larson of Albany, WI, Mary Janee

He was a loving husband and caring father and great friend who will
be forever missed.

BELOIT--Helen M. Buskirk, age 89, formerly of Beloit, died on Sat.
morning, Oct. 20, 2001 in Countryside Home, Jefferson, WI. She was born
on Nov. 5, 1911, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Charles H. and Clara
M. Reichstein Page. Helen married Ellsworth F. Buskirk on Oct. 18, 1947
in Rockford. Helen was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, the church
Naomi Circle, and a past member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed
reading, cooking and knitting. She was a loving grandma and great-grandma.
Survivors include 2 sons, Charles (Barbara) Buskirk of Ft. Atkinson,
WI, and Ellsworth R. (Mabel) Buskirk of State College, PA; a daughter,
Vergean (Bill) Knapp-Jurs of Janesville; 5 grandchildren: Emily Buskirk,
Jean (Steve) Behl, John (Pam) Knapp, Laurel (Dave) Wiestard and Christine
(Glenn) Hallet; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Gentner of Rockford,
IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by
her husband, Ellsworth on Aug. 4, 1978; her parents; daughter, Bonnie Buskirk;
a grandson, Andrew Buskirk; one granddaughter, Joan Knapp; 2 sisters, Anna
Hubler and Marcia Mandeville; a son-in-law, William Knapp.

JANESVILLE-- Patricia A. Casey, age 68, of 4647 N. River Rd., died
Wed., Oct. 31, 2001 at Mercy Health System. She was born on July 30, 1933
in Janesville, the daughter of William and Helen (Malone) Close, Sr. She
has been a lifelong resident of Janesville. She graduated from Janesville
High School in 1952. Patricia married James H. Casey on May 15, 1954 at
St. Mary's Catholic Church, they were married 47 years. James died on July
27, 2001. She was employed by Mercy Hospital as a nursing assistant, retiring
in 1986. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Patricia loved
people, especially her family, and enjoyed playing cards and games with

Katie Allen, James H. Casey IV, Misty Casey, and Seth Casey; 2 sisters:
Helen Jean Close, and Carol Close; a brother, William Close, Jr. all of
Janesville, 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband James, and a sister Peggy Coutts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Nov.
3, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Msgr. Ray Kertz officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, from

BELOIT--Lynnette M. (Campbell) Childs, age 34, of 1017 Johnson St.,
a former Janesville resident, died of injuries suffered in an auto-pedestrian
accident on Fri., Oct. 19, 2001. Lynnette was born on Sept. 1, 1967 in
Janesville, the daughter of Harold and Joan (Stanke) Campbell. She attended
Janesville schools and married Thomas Childs on Aug. 11, 2001.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas; 2 children from a previous marriage,
Elizabeth and Mathew Harmel, both of Beloit; 2 stepchildren, Kari Childs
of Beloit and Amie Childs of Schiocton, WI; her parents, Harold and Joan
Campbell of Janesville; 3 sisters: Susan (William) Kalson of Grand Terrace,
CA, Vicki Campbell of Janesville, Joan (Jeffrey) Lyga of Clinton; a brother,
Steven Campbell of Janesville; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by a cousin, Virginia Helgeson who
was raised in the Campbell home.
Funeral services will be held on Tues., Oct. 23, 2001 at 1 p.m. at
HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Kay Welsch of Cargill United

Christianson, Pearl Gretchen Liekness
Feb. 6, 1916 - Nov. 4, 2001
EDGERTON--Pearl Gretchen Liekness Christianson, age 85, died on Nov.
4, 2001 at the Skaalen Home, Stoughton. She was born on Feb. 6, 1916, the
daughter of Pete and Grace Greig Liekness. She married Melvin Christianson
Nov. 15, 1933; in Rockford, IL. She is a member of Central Lutheran Church.
She worked for many years as a waitress and at Nunn Bush Shoe. She was
known for her baking, especially Norwegian delicacies and lefsa. She also
crocheted many afghans for her children and grandchildren. She loved working
with her many flowers and bird watching.
She is survived by 4 children: Ardyth (Robert) Halverson, Terry (Linda)
Christianson, both of Edgerton, Dale (Janet) Christianson of Janesville,
Carla (Frank) Jackson of Fort Atkinson; 12 grandchildren: Rick (Peggy)
Halverson, Lori (John) Ainsworth, Ronda (Donald) Dorn, Jeff (Adreine) Christianson,
Jody, Jerry and Amy Christianson, Eric (Laurie) Christianson, Tracy (Mark)
Pierce, Kelly (Nate) Zastrow, Carrie (Mat) Nehls, Chris (Amy) Jackson;
15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Annes Nelson,
and Fern Larson; a special sister-in-law, Leona Ehle, all of Stoughton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; 3 sisters: Murt
Strandlie, Hazel Thompson, Eleanore Kittleson.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Nov. 8, 2001 at 11 a.m. at
CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, with Pastors Jim Johnson and Steve Timm officiating.
Burial will be in the Fassett Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from
4 until 7 p.m. at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, Edgerton.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved her.

DARIEN--Caroline E. Clowes, age 78, of N3810 Clowes Rd, died Mon.,
Oct. 29, 2001, at Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn. She was born on March
24, 1923 in Sugar Creek Township, WI, the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Bigelow)
Earnest. She married Keith W. Clowes on Feb. 15, 1941 in Dubuque, IA. She
was an active member of First Baptist Church in Clinton, belonging to the
A.B.W., and also a member of the Fairfield Grange.
She is survived by her husband, Keith of Darien; 3 daughters: Barbara
(Ronald) Schoppe of Avalon, Shirley (John) Sorg of Darien, and Kay (fiance
Victor Holtzee) Lippens of Avalon; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;
a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ellen Amend of Elkhorn; also nieces
and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; a son-in-law,
Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Fri., Nov. 2, 2001 at
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH in Clinton, with Rev. Richard Hyman officiating. Visitation
will be on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at MONROE FUNERAL HOME, Delavan.
Interment will be in Darien Cemetery.

Jan. 11, 1908 - Nov. 2, 2001
JANESVILLE--Marian A. Gagan, age 93, formerly of 211 Cornelia, died
Fri., Nov. 2, 2001 at Heritage Square Health Care Facility in Greenfield,
WI. She was born on Jan. 11, 1908 in Quincy, WI, the daughter of Bruce
and Thurza (Blount) Avery. Marian married Joseph H. Gagan on Oct. 26, 1929
in Briggsville, WI. Joseph died June 2, 1976. She was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church and its Home and School Association.
Survivors include 2 sons: Richard (Kathryn Ryan) Gagan of Union, OH,
Robert Gagan of Santa Fe, NM; 9 grandchildren: Mary Bailen, Jean Hatcher,
Ellen Wareham, Joan Gagan, Joe Gagan, Tim Gagan, Jon Gagan, Jenny Gagan-Vigil
and Sherry Cucchiara; 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Tues., Nov. 6, 2001 at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC
CHURCH at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. Ray Kertz presiding. Burial will be in
Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be at ST. MARY'S on Tuesday from 9:30
a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorials to St.
