Darlene Fay Kronberger
Age 54, of Park Falls, died after a courageous battle with cancer on
Thursday July 27, 2000 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. She was
born on July 21, 1946 in Mauston, the daughter of William and Viola (Bader)
Fields. She was a graduate of Anoka High School in Anoka, Minnesota.
After vacationing in Park Falls throughout her life she came to Park Falls
in 1964 and worked for Hicks Landing in Fifield. On November 14,
1964 she married Frank Kronberger in Park Falls. She was a sales
representative for many years at Suburban Furniture & Carpet in Park
Falls. She enjoyed gardening and nature. Her greatest joy was her
children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 31, 2000 at 10:00am from
St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. James Jackson will
officiate.
Burial will follow at St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut.
A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls
on Sunday July 30, 2000 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a parish prayer vigil
at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or Flambeau
Home Heath and Hospice would be appreciated.
John Anderson Camp
Age 65 of Park Falls, WI died Saturday July 29, 2000 at the Veterans
Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born December 21, 1934 in Draper,
WI the son of Louis and Lillian (Gould) Camp. He attended school in Draper
until the family moved to Maynard, AR. He then entered the U.S. Navy serving
for 21 years until retiring in 1972. He married Jeanette Stutzman they
later divorced and he moved to Park Falls. In 1977 he married Agnes (Hovanecz)
Rose. The couple then spent their summers in Park Falls and their winters
in Bracketville, TX. He was a member of the DAV, the Loretta-Draper American
Legion and the Fleet Reserve.
He is survived by his wife Agnes of Park Falls, WI and Bracketville,
TX

under the auspices of the Loretta-Draper American Legion Post.

Franklin James Seitz age 87 of Fifield, WI was called to heaven on Tuesday
May 8, 2001. He was born January 31, 1914 in Loyal, WI the Son of Arthur
& Clara (Andraska) Seitz. His early life and schooling were in Spencer,
WI where he married his first wife Helen Martin and was employed with Land
O' Lakes Cheese. Their union brought four children- Dean (Edith) Seitz
of Costa Rica, Karen (Jeff) Shannon of Antigo, WI, James (Pat) of Milwaukee,
WI and Gary (Tina) Seitz of Milwaukee, WI.
In 1960 he moved to Duluth, MN and drove for Greyhound Bus Lines. He
Married Arlene Eikanger on Dec. 8, 1962 in Duluth, MN and the couple moved
to Eau Claire, WI and in 1965 to Fifield, WI. He retired from Greyhound
after 33 years and they worked and raised a family on their beef cattle
farm for the past 36 years. Their marriage gave them five children: Jerry(Michelle)
Seitz of Spooner, WI, Kim Busakowski of Ironwood, MI, Glenn (Debbie) Seitz
of Fifield, WI and Beth (Neal) Zirbel, of Fifield, WI and Vicki Seitz of
Fifield, WI.
In addition to driving for Greyhound, Frank was president of the Fifield
Congregational Church, and president of the Fifield Lions for many years,
served as supervisor for the Town of Fifield and filled the position of
Town Chairman for several years.
Frank will be missed by his wife Arlene, his nine children, numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded
in death by his parents and his Infant Daughter Janice.
Frank was a wonderful husband and a very loving father and grandfather.
His greatest pride was his compassion for his family and his love of farming.
He will always be remembered for his strength, warmth, and most of all,
his great sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 11, 2001 at 10:00a.m. at
the Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls, WI with Rev. Bryan Lundquist
officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield,
WI.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 10, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m. at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls and on Friday May
11, 2001 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Betty Jane Osterhaus
Betty Jane Osterhaus Age 65, of Mercer, died Tuesday May 8, 2001 at
her home. She was born on June 10, 1935 in Oconomowoc, the daughter
of Iner and Helen (Ridley) Hansen. On February 12, 1955 she married
Gene Osterhaus at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha.
She is survived by her husband Gene of Mercer, her mother Helen Hansen
of Waukesha, her brother Jim (Violet) Hansen of Sun City, Arizona, her
sister Joyce Fahlstedt of Littleton, CO and nieces, nephews, and other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 11, 2001 at 10:00am from
Faith Lutheran Church in Mercer. Burial will follow at Mercer Cemetery.
James W. Bonney
James W. Bonney Age 86, of Glidden, passed away May 9, 2001 at the Mellen
Manor Nursing Home. He was born on June 11, 1914, the son of Frank
and Mary (Katon) Bonney. He graduated from High School in Glidden
and from the Ashland County Normal School in Ashland. He was a member
of the Most Precious Blood Congregation in Glidden. Jim was a cook
in the CCC's, had his own logging operation, owned and operated Bonney's
Standard Station and Jimmy's Café in Glidden. He also owned
and operated the Glidden School Busses becoming employed by the N.W.C.E.P.
Program out of the Ashland Office where he retired in 1980 as the Executive
Director. He also served as chairman for the Town of Jacobs and sat
on the Ashland County Board. He married Lucille Ann Kritz of Mercer,
She preceded him in death in 1985. Also preceding him in death were
two daughters June Ann and Linda Lou, his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years Ester (Monroe) Bonney, two daughters
Maxine (Clifford) Butler of Rosemont, IL and Karen (Frank) Kempf of Glidden,
one son Pat (Rose) Bonney of Glidden, four step-children: Ed (Maribeth)
Monroe of Ashland, Bob (Deb) Monroe of Unity, John (Beth) Monroe of Santa
Fe, New Mexico, and Pat (Pete) Roeder of Escanaba, MI, (10) grandchildren,
(20)great-grandchildren, and (8)step-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30pm Friday May 11, at
the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden. Visitation will
be one hour before the service at the church.

John P. Ross
John P. Ross Age 82, of Park Falls, died Thursday May 10, 2001 at his
home. He was born on January 8, 1919 in Park Falls, the son of Paul
and Dora (Garcia) Ross. He was a graduate of Park Falls High School.
He enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during World War II in the
Pacific Theater. On August 27, 1946 he married Blanche Grandshaw.
He worked for Neslon Hardware in Park Falls for 30 years and then moved
to Illinois and worked for Anets Inc. in Northbrook, IL for 13 years.
The couple returned to Park Falls in 1985.
He is survived by his wife Blanche of Park Falls, (3)nieces, (2)nephews
and his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son
Richard in 1988 and his brother Alec Ross.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 17, 2001 at 11:00am
from Faith Baptist Church in Park Falls. Pastor Richard Springer
will officiate.
Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.
Jean Murphy
Jean Murphy Age 93, of Park Falls, died Saturday May 12, 2001 at Flambeau
Hospital in Park Falls. She was born on April 19, 1908 in Park Falls,
the daughter of Eugene and Jennie (Robinson) Paquin. She was a graduate
of Park Falls High School. On May 31, 1936 she married James Murphy
in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. She was a receptionists assistant for
Dr. Leahy and Dr. Riley before becoming the manager of the original Park
Falls Hospital. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star
and many other community organizations.
She is survived by her husband Dr. James Murphy of Park Falls, her
sister Dixie Smart of Park Falls, (3)nephews, (3)nieces, and other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marjorie Paquin,
her brother Jack and her infant brother George.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2001 at 11:00am from
St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Park Falls. Fr. William Radant
will officiate.
Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls
A visitation will be held on Monday May 14, 2001 from 4:00pm until
8:00pm at the Novitzke Funeral Home - Park Falls and on Tuesday from 10:00am
until the hour of the service at the church.
Ione L. Junkins
Ione L. Junkins Age 74, of Park Falls, died Tuesday May 15, 2001 at
Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. She was born on January 30,
1927 in Park Falls, the daughter of Perry and Louella (LaMere) Moore.
She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Park Falls. After graduating
she moved to Illinois. On February 10, 1945 she married Walter Halicke
in Chicago, IL. The couple divorced and she later married Don Junkins.
Mrs. Junkins was a supervisor at Neuman Green Company in Addison, IL.
She returned to Park Falls in 1995.

Annette M. Prohaska
Annette M. Prohaska Age 64, of Park Falls, died Wednesday May 16, 2001
at her home. She was born on April 1, 1937 in South Milwaukee, the
daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Larson) LeDuc. She was a graduate of St.
Mary's Academy in Milwaukee. On January 25, 1957 she married Gerald
Prohaska in South Milwaukee. She worked for the South Milwaukee water
treatment plant for four years and the couple owned and operated their
family grocery store from 1972 to 1982. They moved to Phoenix,
AZ in 1982, where she worked for a health insurance company. The
couple came to Park Falls in 1994. Mrs. Prohaska worked for the Park
Falls Chamber of Commerce from 1995 until 1999. She was active in
the Tuesday morning prayer group and served on the board for the Christian
Missions Store in Park Falls.
She is survived by:

the Family Worship Center Assembly of God Church in Fifield. Rev.
Terry Wilson will officiate.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00pm until the hour of

Helen Fleming
Helen Fleming Age 91, of Park Falls, was called to her eternal home
on Wednesday May 16, 2001. She was born on July 7, 1909 in Fifield,
WI, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Theckla (Walner) Fleischmann.
She grew up in Fifield and marred George Fleming on October 18, 1927 in
Rockford, IL. She spent her entire life in the Fifield-Park Falls
area. She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed her knitting and
crocheting. She also loved people and had been active with the Price
County Historical Society and was a quilter at Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Cupie Hammond of Park Falls, (2)sons:
Ron (Irene) Fleming of Fifield and Roger (Grace) Fleming of Park Falls,
(6)grandchildren, (12)great-grandchildren, (3)great-great-grandchildren
and her brother Leo Fleischmann of South Carolina. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her husband George, her son-in-law Jerry Hammond,
(7)brothers and (2)sisters.
Per Helen's wishes, graveside services will be held at Nola Cemetery
in Park Falls for the immediate family with Rev. Bryan Lundquist officiating.

Frances Louise Grassel age 69 of Fifield died Thursday May 17, 2001
at St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander, WI. She was born January 10, 1932
in Park Falls, WI the daughter of John & Barbara (Hilgart) Grassel.
The family moved to Fifield in 1934.
She is survived by;
Her mother Barbara Beaudoin of Fifield, WI.

Robert Frank Ruskavage
Robert Frank Ruskavage age 69 of Park Falls died Friday May 18, 2001
at the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born June 11, 1931 in Rockford,
IL the son of John & Anne (Poluyanskis) Ruskavage. His early life and
schooling were in Rockford, IL. He then entered the U.S. Air Force serving
during the Korean War. He returned to Rockford and began a career as a
chef in area restaurants. He married Fredrica Raabe on May 4, 1974 in Rockford,
IL. The family moved to Park Falls, WI in 1980 where they were the owners
and operators of the Mall Café until retiring in 1990.
He is survived by;

Hazel Klein
Hazel Klein Age 92, died Tuesday May 22, 2001 at Park Manor Nursing
Home in Park Falls. She was born on August 22, 1908 in Ishpeming,
MI the daughter of James and Josephine (Rubens) Fisher. Hazel was
a graduate of Ishpeming High School in 1927 and then went on to nursing
school at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, IL. She graduated in
1930 as a registered nurse. On September 11, 1933 she married Wesley
Klein in Wheaton, IL. The couple resided in Oak Park, IL until her
husband retired in 1957, when they moved to the Park Falls area.
She is survived by:

the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls. Rev. Henry Boynton will
officiate.
Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00am until the hour of
the service at the funeral home.
James A. Wilkinson
James A. Wilkinson Age 49, of Fifield, died Sunday May 27, 2001.
He was born on December 30, 1951, the son of James W. and Iola (Bergeson)
Wilkinson in Independence, Iowa. He came to Fifield about 15 years
ago and worked construction in the area.
He is survived by
