Age 77, of Waukegan, IL. Passed away September 29, 1999 at Victory
Lakes Continuing Healthcare Center in Lindunhurst, IL. Born October 26,
1921 in San Antonio, TX, Mr. Hernandez was a member of St. Anastasia Church
in Waukegan and had done volunteer work at Holy Family East Church. He
had attended Moler Barber School in 1937 and had worked as a barber at
the Navy Exchange at Great Lakes to 41 years, retiring in 1989. He was
a veteran of the U.S. Navy 1942-1945. He is survived by four children,
Joseph Hernandez, Santa Rosa, CA, Enrique (Yvonne) Hernandez, Santa Rosa,
Laura (John) Zolecki, Milwaukee, Gloria (Joel) Hartwig, Oconomowoc; two
sisters, Mary Gonzales of Waukegan, Ofelie Hernandez of Waukegan, one brother,
Albert Hernandez of Waukegan; 9 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceded
in death by his parents, Enrique, Eulalia (Lola); 1 sister, Maria Hernandez.

manager of the US Women's Olympic Curling Team in Calgary in 1988 and the
first woman elected to the US Curling Hall of Fame in 1991. In lieu of
