Graduated from Carroll College of Waukesha, and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison. Pursued a long banking career. Most recently employed by Fiserv of Brookfield. Member of the Milwaukee Athletic Club and the Mequon Racquet Club, as well as an avid golfer and music lover. Active in and served as an elder of the Presbyterian Church. Recipient of Jaycee's Distinguished Service Award. Former Chairman of the Carroll College Alumni Council. Former President of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce. A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 6031 W. Chapel Hill Rd., Mequon, WI at 3:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 15, with visitation at 1:00. Dear father of Yvonne (Ralph) Kennedy of Jacksonville, FL and Leland (Laura) Staven of Rome, GA. Fond grandfather of Karl, Kurt Staven, Heidi Staven Carpenter, and Jon and Paul Jagodinski. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Herb graduated from AAkers Business College in Grand Forks, ND. He was a heavyweight boxing champion for 3 years and never lost a fight. He served in the US Army Armored Division. He retired as regional sales manager from the United States Tobacco Co. He was a member of the Erwin C. Uihlein American Legion Post 411 since 1945. Past commander of Schlitz Post, past 5th District Sergeant of Arms, life member of Past Commanders, member of Lake Lodge 189 F.& A.M. since 1955 and Mix Masters Masonic Lodge since 1956. Herb also was a life member of Fosselyngen Lodge 82 Sons of Norway and the West Allis Moose Lodge 1019 since 1984. Herb will be in state Sat.
