APPLE VALLEY, Minn. - Ronald J. Wehrenberg, 64, of Apple Valley, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997.
Survived by his wife, Nona Lee Wehrenberg; sons Steven (Susan) Wehrenberg of Apple Valley, and David Wehrenberg of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Rhonda (Kirk) Neal of Folsom, Calif.; grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, and Stephanie Wehrenberg, and Kylie Neal; brothers, Richard (Bonnie) Wehrenberg of Salem, Wis., and Wilbert (Alyce) of La Crosse; sisters, Elaine (Edwards) of Waco, Texas, Barbara (Bernard) Poellinger of La Crosse, Sandra (Alan) Ash of Carrollton, Susan (Daniel) Butterfield of La Crescent, Minn.; sister-in-law, Alice Wehrenberg of La Crosse. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Mae Wehrenberg, and one brother Loren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (151 E. Cty. Road 42), Burnsville. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White Funeral Home (146 Pennock); and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Fort Snelling. Robert Eulgem, Jr.
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Robert Eulgem, Jr., 83, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., died suddenly Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, in the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien. Interment will be in the National Cemetery, Eastman. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Bessie M. Sisbach
VIROQUA, Wis. - Bessie M. Sisbach, age 104 of Viroqua, died Friday, October 3, 1997 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua where she had been a resident since February of 1995.
She was born May 21, 1893 on Asbury Ridge near Viroqua to Reinhold and Laura (Wiganowsky) Somerfield. She married William Sisbach on November 25, 1916. They farmed on Belgium Ridge, Jefferson Township, all their married life. Bessie was a member of the Viroqua United Methodist Church and the Eve Circle. She was also a long standing member of the local Women's Relief Corp.
She is survived by two daughters, Laurean Walby of Viroqua, and Esther (Wayne) Cook of Viroqua; eight grandchildren, Laura (Glen) Weichelt of Foristell, Mo., Janet (Randy) Leiske of Fullerton, Calif., Jayne (Larry) Link of Lenoir City, Tenn., Carl (Brenda) Walby of Greenville, Wis., Barbara (Michael) Leis of Juneau, Wis., Susan (David) Schreiner of La Crosse, Joan (Carl) Lind of Onalaska, and Paul Cook of Milwaukee; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husabnd, William on October 14, 1975; four brothers, Otto, Oscar, Walter, and Leo; two sisters, Julia Heck, and Cora Reed; a son-in-law, Fred Walby; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Frank Thompson will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua on Monday, October 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday after 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Viroqua United Methodist Church or the Bethel Home.

Maynard O. Gilbertson
WESTBY, Wis. - Maynard O. Gilbertson, age 77, of rural Westby, died Friday, October 3, 1997 at his home.
He was born on February 9, 1920 in Viroqua to Ole and Mary (Johnson) Gilbertson. On October 22, 1948, he was united in marriage to Gladys Virak. They lived in Chicago for many years where he was a member of the Lincoln Park Casting Club. He worked for O'Conner and Goldberg, and retired as an assistant manager in 1977. Maynard enjoyed classical music and kept up on world and local news. He also enjoyed talk radio and photography.
In addition to his wife, Gladys; he is survived by one daughter, Lois (Mike) Doll of Rosemount, Minn.; three granddaughters, Kristin Doll, Cassandra Doll, and Megan Doll; and his foster brother, Morris ``Bob'' Kingslien of Westby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 1997 at 11 a.m. from the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy. 14 in Westby. Pastor Paul Jordahl will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday after 10 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home.

Thomas J. Clark
KENDALL, Wis. - Thomas J. Clark, age 83 years, of Kendall, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, in the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Picha Funeral Home, Elroy. Burial will follow in the Millards Prairie Picha Funeral Home, Elroy. Gertrude A. Cox
SPARTA, Wis. - Gertrude A. Cox, 85, of Sparta, died Friday evening, Oct. 3, 1997, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Facility in La Crosse.
She is survived by eight daughters, Edith (Harold) Cox of Houston, Minn., Beatrice (Dick) Will of Joliet, Ill., Beulah (Richard) Raiten of Sparta, Inez (Ned) Davis of Tomah, Caroline (Carl) Nelson of Tomah, Vera Lee of Tucson, Ariz., June (Eugene) Severson of Sparta, Lila (Steve) Nofsinger of Hillsboro; three sons, Carl (Betty) Cox of Sparta, Forrest (Connie) Cox of Sparta, Eugene (Faye) Cox of Vinton, Louisiana; 40 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Veronica (Donald) Schanhofer, Marie (Raymond) Peters, and Dorothy Peck of Sparta; one brother, John Brueggeman of Sparta.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta, with Rev. Mark Walljasper officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Wilton. Friends may call at the Page-Smith Funeral Home, Sparta, on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 to 10:45 a.m.

Genevieve C. Mattison
Genevieve C. Mattison, 87, of La Crosse died on Saturday, October 4, 1997 at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center. She was born on June 9, 1910 at St. Joseph's Ridge, Town of Greenfield, to George and Margaretha ``Maggie'' (Frisch) Hess. She married Ralph Mattison on July 14, 1945 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman in La Crosse. In 1916 Genevieve and her family moved to La Crosse. She had worked at American Studios and Universal Photo, both of La Crosse, and retired in 1965. Genevieve was a charter member of the La Crosse Camera Club and Past International President of Collectors of Religion on Stamps.
In addition to her husband, Ralph, she is survived by a daughter, Mary (Kent) Rotering of La Crosse; a granddaughter, Angeline M. ``Angie'' Rotering of La Crosse; a niece, Maxine (Dick) Weber of Eau Claire, Wis.; two nephews, Don Hanson of Duluth, Minn. and Greg (Kathy) Hanson of St. Louis Park, Minn. As well as many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, John Hanson and two sisters, Angeline Hess and Margaret Hanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. The Rev. Robert Cook will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse today from 6 to 8 p.m. where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10 a.m.

Judith M. Berg
Judith M. Berg, 86, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, October 4, 1997 at her home. She was born on March 24, 1911 in rural Blair, Wis. to Christian J. and Olava P. (Scow) Skogstad. She married Oscar Berg. He preceded her in death. Judith was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, La Crosse. She had worked at Barron's Department Store and Herberger's Department Store both of La Crosse for many years.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Judith's body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 1997 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Rachel Thorson Mithelman will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

HOLMEN, Wis. - Harley George Myers, infant son of Don and Sarah (Johansen) Myers, of Holmen, Wis., died on Friday, October 3, 1997 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
Services, tentatively arranged for Thursday will be announced by the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska.

Elmer F. Langrehr
MILWAUKEE/SPARTA, Wis. - Elmer F. Langrehr, 85, of Milwaukee and formerly of Sparta, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 in Milwaukee.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Boll, Milwaukee; two sons, Frederick Joseph Langrehr, Norwalk and Clifford Eugene Langrehr, Milwaukee; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Berniece (Richard) Stickney, Sparta; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Sparta with Rev. Del Begalka officiating. The Page-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret E. Hines
BOSCOBEL/LANCASTER, Wis. - Margaret E. Hines, age 79, of Lancaster formerly of Boscobel, passed away on Friday, October 3, 1997 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. She was born on December 14, 1917 in Rockford, Ill.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at 10 a.m. at the Thoni-Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Father John Urban officiating. Burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Rockford, Ill. Leo C. Sturm
APPLETON, Wis. - Leo C. Sturm, age 76, father of Ruth (Gene) Purcell of La Crosse, passed away at his home Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St., Appleton from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and then directly at the church from 5 p.m Wednesday until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.

Glenn E. Berra
STODDARD, Wis. - Glenn E. Berra, 78, of Stoddard, died Saturday, October 4, 1997 at his home. He was born in Mellette, S.D. on March 16, 1919 to John and Elizabeth (Wolfe) Berra. On April 9, 1947 he married Deloris Suiter in Stoddard. The couple farmed on Oak Ridge for 30 years before retiring to Stoddard in 1985. Glenn was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church Council and Finance Committee, the Town of Bergen Board for 6 years and a charter member of the Stoddard Lions Club. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife Deloris, two daughters, Linda (Ed) Harkin of Cumming, Iowa and Carol (David) DeGarmo of Stoddard; a son, Mark Berra of Waukesha; seven grandchildren Troy and Tracey Oliver of Des Moines, Iowa, Amy and Becky DeGarmo of Stoddard and Ericka, Jeremy and Jacob Berra of Waukesha; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Chad Oliver; three sisters, Zelma King and Leona Dugan of La Crosse and Amber Levendoski of Chaseburg; one brother, Howard (Lois) Berra of Albany, Wis. along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Irene Levendoski and Wilma Barilani and one granddaughter, Jeanine Oliver.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran Church in Stoddard. Rev. R.W. Kloehn will officiate with burial in the Stoddard Cemetery. Annie Morovits
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Annie Morovits, age 90, died October 4, 1997 at her daughters home with her family be her side. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin with grandson Fr. Roger Scheckel officiating. Internment will be held in National Cemetery in Eastman. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien.
Annie was born on March 5, 1907 to parents Louie and Anna Heisz in Seneca township. She married Joe C. Morovits on September 30, 1925. She lived in the Seneca area much of her life and most recently spent the last eight years in the Wauzeka area. She is survived by three sons; Harry Morovits of Eastman, Wis., Donald (Trudice) Morovits of Mount Sterling, Wis., Alan (Gloria) Morovits of Eastman, four sisters; Evelyn Scheckel of Wauzeka, Wis., Hazel (Joe) Meoska of Eastman, Wis., Adeline (Don) Stoehr of Eastman, Wis., Mary Rigdon of Rockford, Ill.; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, two brothers; Harvey Heisz of Boscobel, Wis., Elwin Heisz of Eastman, Wis.; three sisters, Elizabeth Duha of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Agnes Morovits of Eastman, Wis., Clara Drake of Boscobel, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence `Larry' H. Kruger Sr.
HOUSTON, Minn. - Lawrence ``Larry'' H. Kruger Sr., age 51, of Houston, died Saturday, October 4, 1997 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Larry was born May 13, 1946 in Stewartville, Minn. to Rufus and Adeline (Karsten) Kruger of Racine, Minn. He married Margery Sherman on November 18, 1968 in Decorah, Iowa. Larry worked at Trane Company in La Crosse for over 20 years. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. He served in the army during the Vietnam War, and received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; four children, Larry Jr. (Missy) Kruger of Bloomington, Wis., Michelle (Mike) Kurtz, Brian (Jessie) Kruger, and Nichole Kruger all of Houston; three grandchildren, Desirre, Shauna, Devin; two sisters, Carol Bouska of Elroy, Wis., and Ardy Demulling of Whitehall, Wis.; three brothers, Leonard Kruger of Concrete, WA, Dewayne (Linda) Kruger of Owen, Wis., Ardell Bouska of Bangor, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Cole, and his parents Rufus Kruger and Adeline Bouska.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Lane Zaffke officiating. Burial will be in the Stone Church Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors by the Arnet-Sheldon American Legion Post. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church.

Harley George Myers
Harley George Myers, infant son of Don and Sarah (Johansen) Myers, of Holmen, Wis., went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3, 1997. Harley was born on June 14, 1997 in La Crosse.
He is survived by his loving parents; his maternal grandmother, Honey Johansen of Holmen; maternal grandfather, Gary (LaVonne) Johansen of Holmen; paternal grandmother, Mary Jo Rathman of La Crosse; paternal grandfather, George (Muriel) Myers of Eau Claire, Wis.; his great-grandparents; loving aunts and uncles, Greg (Lisa) Goyette, Debbie Myers, Connie Myers, Elizabeth Rathman, Christal Johansen, Kim Jenner, Dave (Foujan) Jenner and Kris (Dann) Jackson; and many other relatives that loved Harley.

Jean L. Sjuggerud
HOLMEN, Wis. - Jean L. Sjuggerud, 59, of Holmen, died Saturday, October 4, 1997 in the Onalaska Nursing Home, She was born in La Crosse on January 19, 1938 to Paul and Rose (Hughes) Carpenter. She married LaVerne Sjuggerud on October 29, 1997 in Holmen.
Jean is survived by her husband, LaVerne; three daughters, Linda (Gerald) Sobotta of Holmen, Peggy Snodgrass of Mindoro and Heidi (Ray) Lockington of Mindoro; three sons, Terry Davidson Jr. of La Crosse; Randal (Stephanie) Davidson of Holmen and Shawn Davidson Sr. of Onalaska; two stepdaughters, Jane (Randal) Thompson of Galesville and Kimberly Sjuggerud of Onalaska; two stepsons, Randal Sjuggerud of West Salem and Ryan Sjuggerud of Holmen; a sister, Jacquelyn (Miles) Olson of La Crosse; a brother, Gerald (Betty) Carpenter of Holmen; 32 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and her cat, Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Lori Howe and Teresa Davidson; and two brothers, Paul Carpenter Jr. and James Carpenter.

Viola F. Pieper
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - Viola F. Pieper, age 91, of Fountain City, died Sunday, October 5, 1997 at St. Michael's Lutheran Home in Fountain City, Wis., where she had been a longtime resident. She was born October 4, 1906 in the town of Waumandee, Buffalo County, Wis., to Adolph H. and Emma (Haigh) Hilgert. Viola was baptized May 12, 1907 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cream, Wis., and confirmed at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church in Stoddard, Wis. On November 8, 1928 she married Harry J. Pieper at Buffalo Ridge, Buffalo County, Wis. He died November 19, 1975. Viola worked three years at the Golden Frog and at St. Michael's Lutheran Home for 15 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fountain City and a member of the ladies aid. She was a past member of the Homemakers Club in Genoa, Wis.
Survivors include four children, Iona (Francis) Hayter of Sparta, Wis., Laveral (Sharon M.) Pieper of Green Bay, Wis., Bonietta (Derald) Bruner of Ladysmith, Wis., and Mercill (Charles) Crouch of Fern Park, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Pieper of Galesville, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Verdin; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 1997 at St. Michael's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fountain City, Wis. Rev. Elroy V. Conradt will officiate. Burial will be in the Buffalo City Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church in Fountain City. Memorials preferred to St. Michael's Lutheran Home or St. Michael's Ev. Ellen Louise Puent
Ellen Louise Puent, 84, of 3424 East Ave. S., La Crosse, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 1997 at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. She was born on December 13, 1912 in La Crosse to Peter and Anna (Knutson) Chose. She was a graduate of Central High School and UW-La Crosse. On August 7, 1939 she married Elliott J. Puent. They had three children, Nancy E. (Glen) Jones of La Crosse, Thomas E. (Kathy) Puent of Holmen and David J. Puent of Eugene, Oregon. Ellen taught school in Marshfield, Wis., and La Crosse before her marriage to Elliott. After their marriage she continued to teach in La Crosse at Washington and Emerson schools for many years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the local, State and National Retired Teachers Association; Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma; and the Martha Circle and W.E.L.C.A. of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of La Crosse, of which she had been a lifelong member.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Elliott and their children; by four grandchildren, Zachary Puent of Eugene, Oregon, Melissa (Andrew) Graff of Onalaska, Peggy Puent of Holmen and Debbie (Sam) Steele) of Oakdale, Wis.; a great-grandson, Arik Steele and a great-granddaughter, Renae Steele; a stepgranddaughter, Anita Demma; two sisters, Dorothy (Vilas) Taylor and Margery Knudson, both of La Crosse; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 1997 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Duane Kamrath will officiate. There will be no visitation. Ellen's body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice. WHALAN, Minn. - Millerd Bostrack, 86, of Whalan, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Rushford, Minn. Sadie E. Martin, 76, of La Crosse, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at Franciscan Skemp Onalaska Nursing Home. She was born April 11, 1921 in McKinley Valley, rural West Salem, to Selma Miller. On July 26, 1941 she married Ansel Olson and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1965. She then married Alfred Martin on September 14, 1967 and he also preceded her in death, on June 30, 1986.
Survivors include five children, Alvina (Earl) Farnam of Holmen, Leslie (Mary Ann) Olson of Nashua, N.H., Sharon Olson of Centerville, Wis., and Dolores Jungen and Donald (Nancy) Olson, both of Holmen; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Julian (Darlene) Peterson of Onalaska; one sister-in-law, Junella Caulum of Cashton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her mother; one grandson, Michael Olson; and one brother, Lawrence Caulum.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 10 at 11 a.m. from Jostad-Jandt Funeral Home, 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem. Pastor Allan Saugstad will officiate. Burial will be in Neshonoc Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Jean L. Sjuggerud
HOLMEN, Wis. - Jean L. Sjuggerud, 59, of Holmen, died Saturday, October 4, 1997 in the Onalaska Nursing Home, She was born in La Crosse on January 19, 1938 to Paul and Rose (Hughes) Carpenter. She married LaVerne Sjuggerud on October 29, 1977 in Holmen.
Jean is survived by her husband, LaVerne; three daughters, Linda (Gerald) Sobotta of Holmen, Peggy Snodgrass of Mindoro and Heidi (Randal) Lockington of Mindoro; three sons, Terry Davidson Jr. of La Crosse; Randal (Stephanie) Davidson of Holmen and Shawn Davidson Sr. of Onalaska; two stepdaughters, Jane (Randal) Thompson of Galesville and Kimberly Sjuggerud of Onalaska; two stepsons, Randal Sjuggerud of West Salem and Ryan Sjuggerud of Holmen; a sister, Jacqueline (Miles) Olson of La Crosse; a brother, Gerald (Betty) Carpenter of Holmen; 32 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and her cat, Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Lori Howe and Teresa Davidson; and two brothers, Paul Carpenter Jr. and James Carpenter.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Holmen Lutheran Church. The Reverend Charles Evavold will officiate. Burial will be at Long Coulee Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 515 McHugh Road, Holmen, today from 5 to 8 p.m.

WABASHA, Minn. - Mrs. Wilbur (Ethel) Reincke, 83, of Wabasha, sister of Kathryn Ellis of La Crosse, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997 in her sleep. She will be buried Thursday from St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha.

Lawrence T. `Larry' Tollefson
Lawrence T. ``Larry'' Tollefson, age 47, died on Wednesday, October 1, 1997. Beloved father of Bradley and Lindsey. Loving husband of Charleen McCone, her daughter Michelle, and grandson Tyler. Dear son of Raymond and Joyce Tollefson of Seneca, Wis. Loving brother of Donald (Fran), Marilyn (Duane) LeDuc and Clifford (Carol). Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jennie M. Kinserdahl
Jennie M. Kinserdahl, 93, of La Crosse, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was born in Douglas, Iowa, on August 5, 1904 to Clifford and Kitty (Kelsey) Lee. She married Lawrence Kinserdahl and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by nieces Delenor Pohl of Onalaska, Betty (Ron) Kleinschmidt of Boyce, Va., and La Vonne Jackson of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 11 at 10 a.m. at the Hillview Health Care Center. The Reverend David Worm will officiate. Burial following cremation will be at the East Lawn Cemetery in Tucson, Ariz. The Dickinson Family Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

BEAVER DAM, Wis. - Delores Ann Stewart, 46, of 106 Charles Street, Beaver Dam, Wis., died Monday, October 6, 1997 at her home. She was born November 8, 1950 in Independence, Iowa, to Clement and Rita (Schares) Michels. She married Glen Stewart August 16, 1969 in Independence, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, Glen of Beaver Dam, Wis.; her daughter, Cindy Stewart of Wilton, Wis.; special friends Roger and Jean Liefke of Wilton, Wis.; her father, Clement Michels of Hazleton, Iowa; and 12 brothers and sisters, Barbara Vandersee of Aurora, Iowa, Bernice (Roger) Vargason of Independence, Iowa, Virginia (Joe) Hyatt of Overgaard, Ariz., Eileen (Robert) Koob of Oelwein, Iowa, Paul (Mary Anne) Michels of Hazleton, Iowa, Leroy (Beth) Michels of Shreveport, La., Margie (Steve) Fernau of Waterloo, Iowa, Monica (Darin) Wurzer of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, Peggy (Tom) Warwick of Coulter, Iowa, John (Sue) Michels of Oelwein, Iowa, Fritz (Deanne) Michels of Hazleton, Iowa, and Marlene (Glen) Dawson of Hazleton, Iowa. She is also survived by 47 nieces and nephews, and six great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and a niece, Jessica Koob.
She was previously employed at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital as a secretary. She was a former member of the Readstown E.M.S. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, Wis. She was also a former 4-H leader in Readstown.

Mark Lindner officiating; and Friday, October 10 at 1 p.m. at the Brant-Kerns-Jamison Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa, with Rev. Ervin D. Hesterberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa. D. Wayne Erickson
ETTRICK, Wis. - D. Wayne Erickson, age 79, of Ettrick, found peace with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at the Hillview Home in La Crosse. He was born December 11, 1917 in Disco, Wisconsin to Ingwal and Mabel (Loasching) Erickson. He married Cora Olson on June 28, 1939 in Blair, Wisconsin. Wayne was a veteran and served with the Army during World War II. He was the former owner and operator of the Erickson Oil Company in Ettrick and Galesville from 1945 until 1969 when he later sold the business to the Bob Johnson Oil Company. He then continued to work for 15 more years at Fort McCoy. Wayne was the former village president, and a charter member of the Ettrick Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Cora of Ettrick; twin daughters, Shirley (Max) Paine of Onalaska and Sharon (Richard) Dearborn of Portland, Maine; five grandchildren, Kelly (Dennis) Abitz, Sheila Fehrman, Ilka (Steven) Pollock, Mario (Katina) Garcia and Lora (Daniel) Keucker; one great-grandson, Benjamin Pollock; and one brother, Roger A. (Sandra) Erickson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.
Memorial services, following cremation, will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 1997 at the Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick. Rev. Lyle Ness will officiate. Burial will be in the Ettrick Cemetery. The Fossum Funeral Home in Ettrick is assisting the family with arrangements.

Catherine M. Cleven
KENDALL, Wis. - Catherine M. Cleven, 43, of rural Kendall, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at her home. She was born May 15, 1954 to Albert and Esther (Breitenfield) Leis in St. Joseph Hospital, Hillsboro. She attended Kendall Elementary School and was a member of the graduating class of 1972 at Royall High School. She was united in marriage to Conrad A. Cleven on November 12, 1988 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Kendall. She worked as a Purchasing Agent at Walker Stainless Equipment Inc. in Elroy. She was a member of the Sweetheart Swingers Square Dance Club. Catherine was an active and faithful member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Kendall.
In addition to her husband, Conrad, she is survived by her parents, Albert and Esther Leis of Kendall; three brothers, Robert (Margaret), Ron (Patty) and Jim, all of Kendall; three sisters, Sister Esther Leis of Rhinelander, Ann (Christopher) Solchenberger of Cazenovia, and Theresa Leis of Kendall; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Jennette Cleven of Kendall; two brothers-in-law, Russell Cleven of Marinette and Roger Cleven of Kendall; three sisters-in-law, Anita (Terry) Wilcox of Mauston, Heidi (Conrad) Saupe of Shelton, Wash., and Rebecca (Rodger) Pratt of Westby; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother, Roger.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 1997 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Kendall. Rev. Fred Fedke will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery. Mary A. Twite
RUSHFORD, Minn. - Mary A. Twite, age 79, of Rushford, died Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She was born on April 24, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Alex and Anna Lamek. She was raised in Milwaukee. She married John Twite pm August 4, 1944 in Milwaukee. Mary operated Fiddler's Green and a grocery/meat market with her husband in Milwaukee. She then operated the Shellhorn near Brownsville, Minn., with her husband and later with her son. She also lived in Dodge Center and Rushford. She enjoyed being with her many friends and loyal customers. Mary was the joy of her children and grandchildren and will be lovingly missed. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford.
She is survived by two daughters, Julann (Glenn) Heiller of Woodland, Minn., and Mary (Phillip) Hoiland of Rushford, Minn.; one son, Terrance (Bonnie) Twite of Dodge Center, Minn.; and nine grandchildren, Henry and his wife Debbie, Chris, Krin, Hayley, Tylar John, Manya Jewel, Andrew James, Leah Jane and Nick Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hoff Funeral Homes-Cook Rushford Chapel, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
