Mrs. Ola Elizabeth Anderson, 93, of Richmond, died Monday, June 16, 1997. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter H. Anderson; her daughter, Doris M. Roberson and son -in-law, Lawrence M. Roberson; seven grandchildren, Patricia Wheeler, Pamela Conner, Charles Roberson, Carol Blanchard, Darrell Roberson, Sheryl Elliott and Larry Roberson; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Washington Memorial Park.

Ruben Leroy Anderson departed this life June 11, 1997. Died June 16, 1997, Marie A. Axselle, 87, of Montpelier. She is survived by her brother and sisters, John F. Harvey Mark Aytes Jr., of 2285 New Market Road, owner of Harvey Aytes Taxi Co., departed this life Saturday, June 14, 1997, after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cora Fields Aytes; a loving daughter, Donna Michelle Aytes; mother, Christine T. Aytes; a brother, Richard L. Arlene Daniel, 41, of Blackstone, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. She is survived by her mother, Clara E. Daniel; three children, Crystal G., Wilma M. and Thomas S. Daniel Jr.; and their father, Thomas S. Daniel; five brothers and sisters; Ike and Jimmy Daniel, Helen Adkins, Nanny and Edna Daniel, all of Blackstone; a special friend, Charles E. Richard M. Dawson "Matt", age 69, of Amelia died June 15, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Carlease H. Jesse M. Glenn, age 80, retired Regional Director of Craddock-Terry Shoe Co., died June 14, 1997 in Florida, formerly of Farmville. He was the husband of Mrs. Lois Bailey Glenn. Survived by two sons, Barry M. Glenn of Ozona, FL, and James B. Glenn of New Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren. He was a member of the Halifax Lions Club, and Hill City Masonic Lodge, Lynchburg, Va. Graveside services 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice. GORDON
Carrie H. Gordon of Glen Allen, widow of Malcolm S. Gordon, died Saturday, June 14, 1997. She is survived by devoted friends, Relaahan Darden, and John and Becky Wood. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3913 Brook Rd., Richmond, Va. Interment private. Nell P. Gordon died Saturday, June 14, 1997, in Charlottesville, Va. She was the wife of the late John H. Gordon. She is survived by two children, Forest E. R. Gordon of Fredericks burg, Va. and Laura G. Price of Herndon, Va.; one granddaughter, Kristina G. Mitzelfelt of Harrisonburg, Va. She was the sister of W. W. Pritchett Jr. of Petersburg, Va., Ruth Streeter of Arlington, Va., Frances Lippincott of Wilmington, Delaware, Margaret Short of Columbia, S.C., and Jean Williams of Petersburg, Va. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Holly Memorial Gardens in Char lottesville, Va. Virginia D. Hobbie, 77, widow of Eldridge M. Hobbie, died Saturday, June 14, 1997. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eldridge M. (Ridge) and Shirley Hobbie; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janis H., widow of H. C. (Tubby) Austin, Forrestt H. and L. K. (Bubba) Grubbs and Lenore Hobbie and John Carlson; six grandchildren, Debra A. Branham, Thomas W. Austin, Susan A. Williams, L. Benjamin Grubbs, Amy D. Grubbs and Tyler M. Bryant; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Caleigh, and Carlee Williams. She is also survived by one sister, Sylvia D. Carli. She retired from Reynolds Metals Aviation Dept. Doris O. Holland, 63, of West Point, Va., died Sunday, June 15, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Charlie E. Holland; daughters, Diane Pettus of Henrico, Patricia Boyer of Matoaca, Peggy Keeling of Hopewell and Betty Gale Shifflett of Charlottesville; son, Charlie Holland Jr. of Hanover; mother, Hattie Wylie of Highland Springs; four sisters, one brother, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. KIRBY
Timothy Ray Kirby of Mechanicsville died June 14, 1997. He is survived by his mother, Mary Katherine Collins Kirby; brother and sister -in-law, James I. Kirby Jr. and Suzane L. Kirby; sister, April Dawn Kirby; grandmother, Cecil Clara Kirby and godfather and uncle of James Mason Kirby and Caitlyn Michelle Kirby. KOLAR
Helen Kolar, 79, of Farmville, died Thursday, June 12, 1997 at her home. She was born Helen Mae Mifka on May 25, 1918 in Newport News, Va. Raised and educated in Richmond, she spent her earliest working years in Arlington, Va., where she met and married J. Daniel Kolar of Disputanta, Va. in 1939. After working in Washington, D.C. and starting their family, they moved to Florida in 1947. In the late 60's the family re turned north to Maryland. They built their retirement home in Meherrin in 1976. She was widowed in 1988 and moved to Farmville in 1994. She had varied business careers, was a homemaker, mother, lover of nature and the arts, a woman of many talents - the ultimate survivor. Survivors include one sister, Ruth Fox of Meherrin; a daughter, Leslie Pearson of Chicago, Ill.; two sons, Edward Kolar of Buckingham, and Paul Kolar of Glenville, Pa., four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. MORTON
Charles Read Morton Jr., of Richmond, died June 15, 1997. Born November 14, 1932 in Newport News, Va. He was the son of the late Charles Read and Margaret Jones Morton of Hampton and McHerrin, Va. He attended the College of William and Mary and graduated for Arkansas State University in 1956 and was employed by C&P Telephone Co and Bell Atlantic for 34 years. Mr. Morton was a member, for mer deacon and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was also the past treasurer of the church. His main interest in serving the church was singing in the choir for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hogge Morton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Mark Barham, Ann French and George McCray; three grandchildren, Troy Barham, Kelsey Barham and Cowles McCray. Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. O'CONNELL
Charles O'Connell, 82, of Richmond, died June 14, 1997. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola O'Connell. He is survived by his daughter, Ruby Atwell; grandson, Boyd Atwell; brother, John O'Connell; sister, Rose Stinson and brother-in-law, Henry Stinson; two nephews, Michael Ely and Earl Wayne Brown; one niece, Marsha Dale. Mary Page Owens, 80, of Richmond, died Sunday June 15, 1997. She was the widow of Paul W. Owens. Survived by her daughter, Faye Owens Huff; two grandchildren, Amanda Page and Adam Christopher Huff. Arnetta Jean Rux, 72, died Friday, June 13, 1997, at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. She was born October 30, 1924 to the late Henry and Mary Robinson Crawford. Arnetta was a retired educator of Detroit, Mich. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Louisa. Her memory will be cherished by son, Harry A. Rux Jr.; daughter, Michelle Rux; two sisters, Gloria Hill and her husband, Frank and Jessamine C. McWhite; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Rux and Brenda Crawford Shelton; one aunt, Ruth Blue and other relatives and friends. Evelyn Baccigalupo Stewart, widow of Aubrey Jackson Stewart Sr., died June 14, 1997. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony Sr. and Margaret Grace Baccigalupo. She is survived by her daughter; Mary Louise and her husband, Edward F. Johnson Jr.; her son, A. Jackson Stewart Jr. and his wife, Gayle; a sister, Margaret L. Baccigalupo, seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Stewart, Aubrey J. Stewart III, Stefanie Gayle Weir, Lelsie Grace Winder, Timothy O'Connor Johnson, Mary Stewart Johnson and Katherine Elizabeth Johnson; three great-grandsons, Gregory Broaddus Winder, Joshua Stewart Winder and August Matthew Weir. Rev. Thomas L. White of York, Pa., died Friday, June 13, 1997 in Washington, D.C. He was a minister for 43 years, and chaplain of York County Nursing Home. He was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren. Survivors include his wife, Susan Anderson White; a sister and brother, Inez Hill and John White, both of Richmond, Va. A son, David A. White, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at Pleas ant View Church of the Brethren, Red Lion, Pa. on Thursday, June 19, at 10 a.m. Rev. Miss Ruby Alise Wrenn, 91, died Monday, June 16, 1997. She was born and raised in Victoria, Va., but spent her last years in Dendron, Va. Miss Wrenn was a charter member of the Victoria Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her twin sister, Hyler Louise Wrenn Stewart of Norfolk, Va. and three nieces and three nephews, Brenda Wrenn Skinner and Pamela Wrenn Accassian, both of Richmond, Va., Patricia S.
