She was an active member of Travis Ave. Baptist Church and was active in American Red Cross for about 30 years. She was a member of Carswell Retired Officers Wives Club. She was a resident of Lake Country Estates near Fort Worth.

Survivors: She has a son, Eugene C. Buie Jr. of Vienna, Va.; and a daughter, Judith Ann Throckmorton; five grandsons; one granddaughter; three great- grandsons; and a sister, Luma Blake.

James K. Cole was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Justin. He was a veteran and served with the Coast Guard. He was retired from Overseas Motors, where he sold Rolls-Royce and Jaguar automobiles from Universal Volkswagon. He was also retired from Swift Meat Packing Company in Fort Worth before it closed. He was a member of Justin Church of Christ in Justin. He married Marie Pope on Aug. 17, 1935, in Denton. She preceded him in death on May 21, 1981.

Tommie McCrary Dodrill was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Hurst. She worked in the Fort Worth school district for 28 years as an education secretary in the Administration Building and at Meacham Middle, Tanglewood Elementary, Ridglea Hills Elementary, Western Hills High and Arlington Heights High schools, and retired Aug. 29, 1983. She had 38 years of membership and service to Hillside Memorial Christian Church.

Mrs. Dodrill was ex-president of the Fort Worth Association of Educational Secretaries; a member of the Texas Educational Secretaries Association and National Association of Educational Secretaries; ex-president of Co-Wi-Bus and ex-president and a longtime member of the Federation of Women's Clubs; and a member of the Womans Club of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Retired School Employees Association.

She cheerfully gave of her love, time and her talents to the Lord, her family and her friends. She also served many friends, families and associates, the Fort Worth Presbyterian Night Shelter and many other Christian and benevolent causes.

Ermel Lorie Perry Gober was born in Throckmorton on Dec. 11, 1915, to Looney and Alice Sims Perry. She married Otto Gober on Feb. 4, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1975.

Mrs. Gober lived in Seminole, Texas, for most of her life. She lived in Olney for a few years before moving to Granbury earlier in 1996. Mrs. Gober was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Sister Sneed was a former member of Gospel Temple, Fort Worth, three years at Emmanuel Temple at Cleburne, was a member of Miracle Temple Christ Holy Sanctified Church, where she was First Lady, Children Youth Department, Music Department and all auxiliaries of the church.

George C. Spurlock was born Jan. 31, 1915, in Greenville, Texas. He was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years and received the Silver Beaver Award. Mr. Spurlock was a member of First United Methodist Church of Crowley. He served as a sergeant in the Army in World War II and received four Battle Stars.

Loyd E. Tipton
ARLINGTON -- Loyd E. Tipton, 92, a retired lumber company manager, died Monday in Dallas.

Loyd E. Tipton was born March 1, 1904, in Purdon, Texas. He had lived in Arlington since 1967 and was a former resident of Grapevine. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a 32nd degree Mason and a charter member of the Scottish Rite in Fort Worth. He had received his 50-year pin from the Masons and was a member of the Arlington Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He had been employed 38 years as a manager in the lumber industry with William Cameron and Co. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Arlington.

Survivors: Wife, Elzie Tipton of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Nancy Tipton of Arlington; and two grandchildren, Kim and James Tipton of Arlington.

Ocie M. Toliver
FORT WORTH -- Ocie Mae Toliver, 98, a homemaker, died Monday at a Fort Worth retirement center.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church at 5422 Missouri Ave. Burial: Peoples Burial Park in Haltom City. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Baker Funeral Home.

Ocie M. Toliver was born Feb. 25, 1898 in Bedias in Grimes County to Jake and Lillie Wilson.

At an early age she married Henry Toliver of Seguin. They made their home in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Toliver became a member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, where she served on the communion board, as the Circle chairperson in the Women's Society and was an active member of the Willing Worker's Sunday School and other auxiliaries of the church.

She did volunteer work in the community until after her 87th birthday and received the following awards: 1965 and 1966 at Bethlehem Community Center, 1972 Special Award, rendered with United Community Center, 1981 from the Errand and Assurance Program, in 1985 recognized for her loyal services for Tarrant County's Meals on Wheels.

Wilson of LaMarque; nephews, Houston Bassett and wife, Ruby, of Atlanta, Texas, Claud Bookman and Jessie Bookman of Dallas, Roger Wilson and wife, Jackie, of Houston, Roy Lee Wilson and wife, Sybil, of LaMarque; nieces, Artie Mae Preadom and husband, Henry, of Port Arthur, Joan Freeman and husband, James, of Galveston, Nicky Carol Porter and husband, Dr. Clarence Porter of San Antonio; great nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Charleta Willis and Margaret Wood of Fort Worth.

DUBLIN -- Guadalupe Torres, 71, a farmer, died Tuesday at a hospital.

Guadalupe Torres was born July 17, 1925, in Savinas, Coahuila, Mexico, and moved to Erath County from Mexico 15 years ago. He married Maria Luz Martinez in 1943.

Mr. Torres was a Catholic.
