WHITE SETTLEMENT -- Pauline Back, 91, an artist, died Thursday in White Settlement.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. today at Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Pauline Back was born Oct. 9, 1905, in Dexter. She was a local artist 70 years, living in White Settlement for 60 years. She painted landscapes and animals and her favorite thing to paint was bluebonnets. She worked at Lockheed when it was Convair. She worked for 15 years as a salad maker at Colonial Cafeteria, before retiring in 1970. After retiring, she devoted all her time to her family, her art and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leonard Back Sr. and son, Frederick W. Back.

Survivors: Sons, Howard Leonard Back Jr. of White Settlement, and Albert Back of Dallas; daughter, Kathryn Williams of Fort Worth; brother, B.W. Winder of Godley; 11 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; seven great-great- grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.

Murray B. Coffey was born Dec. 23, 1913, in Locker. He was born and reared in San Saba County, Texas and lived in Itasca for 51 years. He was married to Lucille Brown on May 30, 1938. He graduated from Texas A & M College in 1937 and worked for the Soil Conservation Service/Department of Agriculture for 33 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Itasca, serving in several positions including Chairman of the Board. He served on the Board of Regents of Hill Junior College. He was loved and respected by many family and friends.

Survivors: Wife, Lucille Coffey of Itasca; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Wm. R. Margraf Sr. of Grand Prairie; grandsons, Wm. R. Margraf Jr. of Dallas and Mark B. Anna Gerrior Doucette was born Feb. 4, 1911, in Canada. She was the wife of the late Basil E. Doucette Sr. and the sister of the late Cecelia Avery, William, Thomas and John Gerrior, Helen Lally and Clara Pellerine.

Mrs. Hutcheson attended the College of Industrial Arts, now Texas Woman's University in Denton, and received a bachelor of arts degree in 1933, and a master of arts degree in 1934 in Home Economics. She was previously a dietician at Sunset High School in Dallas. She was active in the Builders Class, First United Methodist Church of Arlington, and was a charter member of the Arlington Woman's Club.

FORT WORTH -- Irene H. Smith, 82, a homemaker, died Saturday at a Fort Worth nursing home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Church of God. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth.

Irene H. Smith was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Dodd City. She was the sixth of ten children and grew up in Ladonia in Fannin County. She moved to Fort Worth in 1938 and married her husband of 52 years. She was a loving and faithful member of the Riverside Church of God. She was preceded in death by husband, Carl C. Smith in 1991.

Survivors: Brothers, Lennie Henry of Honey Grove and Troy Henry of Fort Worth; sisters, Lorene Duvall of Commerce, Opal Rolan of Houston, Verna O'Neal of Weatherford; and Joie Craddock of Azle; and several nieces and nepehws.

Lavada Swiney was born Dec. 3, 1908, in Lott. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Kennedale. She was a member of Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodge. She was a wonderful friend as well as a mother.

She was preceded in death by son, Charles A. Swiney and husband, Clarence A. Swiney.

Survivors: Sons, Tom Swiney of Burkburnett and Kenneth Swiney of Dallas; daughters, Linda Treadway of Burkburnett, Sue Kurtenbach of Arlington, and Jean Reed of Fort Worth; sister, Vesta Harless of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
