Mary Ann Mengelkoch was born Jan. 1, 1951, in Minneapolis and graduated from Arlington High School with honors in 1969. She received her bachelor of science degree in secondary education in 1973 from the University of Texas and a master's degree in math in 1981 from the University of Texas at Arlington. From 1975 to 1988, she taught in the Fort Worth and Arlington school districts and at TCJC and UTA. From 1986 to 1992 she was a computer programmer at LTV in Grand Prairie. In 1994-96 she taught for the Windham schools at TDCJ-ID, the Abilene school district and at Cisco Junior College.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Norbert Mengelkoch, and her biological mother, Patricia Schmit.

Parker E. Moreland
FORT WORTH -- Parker Elbert Moreland, 95, founder of Moreland Drugs in 1943, died Monday at home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. today at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Parker Moreland was born Oct. 24, 1900, in Waldo, Ark. He married Frances Hardy, October 16, 1928, and moved to Fort Worth at that time. He was general manager of Renfro Drugs from 1936 to 1943. He started Moreland Drugs in 1943. He opened his first drugstore in the first shopping center in Fort Worth in 1949 (Westcliff Shopping Center) and expanded to eight drugstores with a warehouse. He sold to Skillern's Drugs in 1971. A member of the Optimist Club since 1935, his lifelong devotion, he was a stalwart of the Christmas tree lot. He was a long term (1953) member of University United Methodist Church.

Bert Moyer I was born Dec. 20, 1935, in Oil City, Pa. He owned and operated Bert's Delivery Service from 1978 to 1996. He was a resident of Southlake since 1973. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy C. Moyer, June 27, 1994, and granddaughter, Samantha Moyer.

FORT WORTH -- Thomas Reed Oatman, 38, a commercial real estate developer with Oatman-Bundy Commercial Real Estate, died Sunday at home.

Thomas Reed Oatman was born Nov. 4, 1957, in Dallas, and had heart surgery at 6 weeks that kept him from formal athletics and channeled his energy into water skiing, scuba diving, snow skiing and physical activities of all kinds. He was an athletic trainer in high school and at TCU. He graduated from Anderson High School in Austin and TCU, earning his BBA in 1980. He was a leader in TCU's Investment Fund and a member of Phi Delta Theta. He worked almost all the way through school as a leasing agent for various Fort Worth real estate properties and investment in Austin property. He was an independent commercial real estate developer, making many friends and close associates, and provided himself and his family a comfortable living.

Reed married Gayla Durham in 1983. His hobbies were his family and traveling with them. Nothing was more important to him than Gayla and their boys. Reed was never idle -- he wanted to see it all, do it all and go first class while he was doing it. His great-great-uncles, Addison and Randolph Clark, were founders of TCU. His grandmother, Mable Clark Reed, was a trustee at TCU.

Travis Ramsey was born April 21, 1901.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a deacon and Sunday school worker and leader. He played semi-pro baseball in East Texas and Mississippi and played drums in the first Carlisle, Texas, band. He led revival meeting song services until he was 90 years old.
