GUSTINE -- Robert Edgar Blue, 88, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at home.

Graveside service: was at 2 p.m. Thursday in Union Cemetery, near Gustine. Officiating were George Tolbert and Dale Scott.

Robert Edgar Blue was born June 7, 1908, in Comanche County, the son of Robert Ed and Cora Denny Welch Blue. He was married to Bessie Peterson on Nov. 8, 1931, in Comanche.

Mr. Blue was a rancher-farmer and was a lifelong resident of Comanche County, in the Pettit and Gustine communities. He was a member of Gustine Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Robert Blue, in February 1987.

Survivors: His wife of 65 years, Bessie Peterson Blue; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Shirley Blue and Bill and Corine Blue, all of Gustine; six grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.

FORT WORTH -- Georgia Mae Brisco, 87, retired from blueprint drafting in the aerospace industry, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Georgia Brisco was born March 7, 1909, in Jacksonville, Texas. She retired from General Dynamics in 1986. She worked there for over 35 years in the Blueprint Department. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church of Fort Worth.

Col. Frank G. Furrie was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Brenizer, Pa. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1940 and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam as a command pilot in heavy bombers. He became an aviation cadet, receiving his pilot wings Dec. 13, 1942. He was a graduate of the Command and Staff College and the Air War College.

Col. Furrie retired in 1969 with 30 years' service. He joined Bell Helicopter Textron with commercial marketing between the United States and Canada for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. James Furrie, and a sister, Ann Goldberg.

William E. Gonser was born in Nora Springs, Iowa. He was raised in Mason City, Iowa. He moved to Grand Prairie in the 1950s. He attended college in Iowa and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After 37 years, he retired in 1988 from E-systems in Garland, where he worked as an electrical engineer.

Mr. McClure was born Dec. 15, 1911, in Fort Worth. His parents were Samuel and Lota Etta Sumner McClure. He attended Arlington State College and married Margaret Lucille Dickey on Oct. 20, 1940, in Fort Worth.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Forces. After the war, he sold steel products for Colorado Fuel and Iron. In the 1970s, he helped found American Alloy Steel Co.

Margaret Lucille McClure was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Riesel, Texas. Her parents were Wilburn G. and Mamie Kirk Thompson Dickey. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Waco. During World War II, she worked as a programmer for the Treasury Department.

Survivors: Mr. McClure is survived by his cousins, Bonnie Beardsley and Mark Beardsley, both of Sherman, Dean Kidd of Oklahoma City, George Sumner of Fort Worth, Robert Sumner of Alma, Texas, Emalyn Reeves of Fort Worth and Thomas Sumner of Houston; and an uncle, Charles L. Sumner of Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH -- Le Roy Webb, 85, a department store manager, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1997, at home.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Haltom Road Baptist Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Le Roy Webb was born March 27, 1911, in Fort Worth. He worked at Lockheed Recreation for 14 years, was warehouse manager for Stripling's Department Store for 27 years and was a deacon at Haltom Road Baptist Church for 42 years. He was a member of Haltom City Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

Survivors: Wife, Novella Webb of Haltom City; sons, Donald Roy Webb of Kilgore and David Lee Webb of Haltom City; daughter, Noleta Beth Webb of Haltom City; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step- grandchildren.

Pat Weide was born Sept. 25, 1910, in Temple. He was an area resident for 60 years. He was a former butcher for Armour & Co. and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

DALLAS -- Charles David White, 56, a retired General Motors employee, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, in Dallas.

Charles David White was born Nov. 8, 1940, in Dallas. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and served in the Air Force. He retired from General Motors after 31 years' service.

Mary E.S. White
FORT WORTH -- Mary Elizabeth Smith White, 86, a retired public school music teacher, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church. Entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum.

A fifth-generation native Texan, Mary White was born Aug. 10, 1910, in San Antonio. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1927. In 1931, she received degrees in both violin and public school music from what is now Texas Woman's University. She received her master's degree from Columbia Teachers College in 1943.

Mrs. White taught elementary music in Graham and Wichita Falls and at Poly Elementary before moving to Fort Worth in 1942. She also taught briefly at Poly Elementary and at William James Jr. High. However, she is most known for her many years as choral director at Arlington Heights High School from 1944 to 1970. Mrs. White's music students included John Denver, William Walker, Reid Bunger, Gunilla Hutton-Miller, Kenneth Schanewerk, Linda Elam and Sandra Rhodes. Her choral groups performed for many local community events.

Mary was president of the Fort Worth Music Teachers Association from 1959 to 1961 and served on the board of the Civic Music Association. She was a life member of NEA and TSTA and a member of the following organizations: American Association of University Women, Texas Woman's University Alumnae, University Book Club, Harmony Club, The Woman's Club of Fort Worth, The National Federation of Music Clubs, Texas Choral Directors Association, the Music Educators Conference, Alpha Delta Kappa, Kappa Kappa Iota and Kappa Delta Phi.

Active in the church, Mary sang in the choirs of Broadway Presbyterian and St. Stephen Presbyterian churches. An ordained elder, Mary also was a member of The Needlepoint Guild and The Presbyterian Women at St. Stephen.

Survivors: Daughter, Mrs. Patrick L. (Elizabeth Jeanne White) Forristal of Bellaire, Texas; grandsons, Patrick Thomas Forristal and John Douglas Forristal, both of Bellaire; brother, Ralph W. Smith of Highland Park; niece, Mrs. J.A. Cook of Houston; nephew, R. Wilson Smith of Garland; one grandniece; and one grandnephew.
