Bobby Keith Irick was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Holdenville, Okla. He received the Outstanding Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the American Petroleum Institute, Walnut Creek Country Club, various oil and gas organizations and the Kansas Kioga Club. He was one of the pioneers in the development of pulsation stabilizers used in the oil industry. He designed many products for the oil industry, with patents that are used and known nationally and internationally.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie O. Goude of Lillian, and his father, John B. Irick of Oklahoma.

Ruby Miner was born Aug. 24, 1910, in Arlington. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She retired from the UTA Library in 1976 after 16 years of service. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Miner.

Survivors: Daughters, Terre LaJudice and Paula Nelson, both of Arlington; sister, Myrtle Scott of Arlington; and grandchildren, Deloy, Jennifer, Rebecca, Christopher, and Crissie.

Clarence B. Parker
HALTOM CITY -- Clarence B. Parker, 83, retired from the military, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in North Richland Hills.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Clarence Parker was born Aug. 25, 1913, in Blue Grove. He retired a master sergeant with the U.S. Army and had served in the Korean War. He was a former star-mail route carrier for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.' He worked for Globe Aircraft before serving in the Army. He moved to Fort Worth in May of 1936.

Robert Troy Reed
BENBROOK -- Robert Troy Reed, 74, a retired aerospace industrial engineer, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in Benbrook.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Benbrook United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Charles Holland. Musical dedication will be by special friend Charles Duke and the choir of Benbrook United Methodist Church. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

After a long, courageous and dignified fight with cancer, Mr. Reed peacefully passed away at his Benbrook home on Jan. 27, 1997, surrounded by family and friends. His unfailing faith, trust and the love he shared with so many people made his life an inspiration to all he touched. He was a mentor to young and old with his quiet, peaceful nature and compassionate heart.

Troy was born in Hugo, Okla., on Oct. 10, 1922. He attended high school in Durant, Okla., and graduated from Southeastern State University in Durant in 1950 and then moved to Fort Worth to work for General Dynamics, where he retired after 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was an active member of Benbrook United Methodist Church.

His retirement was a busy time spent traveling extensively with his Allegro Motor Home Club and as an active member in the General Dynamics retirees' Breakfast Club. For 20 years, he and his Bertha were sponsors for the Castleberry A Capella Choir and after retirement sang often with the Castleberry Exces Choir.

Survivors: His wife of 54 years, Bertha of Benbrook; son, J. Robert "Bo" Reed and his twin daughters, Megan and Sierra, all of Fort Worth; daughter, Rebecca Reed Toal, her husband, George, of Evergreen, Colo., and their son, Brian Reed Toal and his wife, Paula, and their daughters, Tyler and Kaidan Toal, of Augsburg, Germany, and their daughter, Amy Roberts, and her husband, Danny, of Evergreen; brother, J. Clayburn E. Shannon
FORT WORTH -- Clayburn Edward "Ed" Shannon, 59, a third grade teacher at Benbrook Elementary School, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at his mother's home in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Shannon TCU Funeral Chapel. Graveside service: noon Friday in Acton Cemetery in Granbury. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Clayburn Shannon was born March 21, 1937. He was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years with the Fort Worth Independent School District. Ed loved teaching children. He loved art, music and poetry and conveyed those loves to all around through his artistic talents and piano playing. He earned his bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University and his master's degree from the University of North Texas. Ed served his country in Korea in the U.S. Army. He was a Christian and a longtime Baptist.

Survivors: Mother, Anna Mae Shannon of Fort Worth; brothers, Thomas C. and wife, Gail Shannon, of Arlington and Robert Franklin and wife, Darla Shannon, of Fort Worth; and many nieces and nephews.

Oliver Sturdy
FORT WORTH -- Oliver "Ollie" Sturdy, 85, a retired tool manufacturing general manager, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital after a long illness.

Funeral: At his request, he was cremated and no service will be held.

Oliver "Ollie" Sturdy was born Sept. 26, 1911, in Maplewood, Mo., and moved to Los Angeles when he was in his early teens. A self-taught machinist, he built a business as a tool and die maker and was very well respected for his skill, ability and quality workmanship. Ollie sold his business in the early 1960s to Tandy Leather Co. and moved to Fort Worth, acting as general manager of Craftool Manufacturing until his retirement.

In 1946, he married Juanita Reid Kagee. She preceded him in death in May 1996. An avocational pilot, Ollie enjoyed flying his own plane with friends and family. Later, during his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively in the Pacific Northwest in their motor home to enjoy boating and fishing.

Survivors: Sons, Wayne Sturdy of Denver, Colo., and Richard Sturdy of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughters, Arnita Torres of Denver and Jeane Roosa of Conifer, Colo.; brothers, William Sturdy of Las Lunas, N.M., and John Sturdy of Alamo, Texas; sister, Ruth Robinson of Canoga Park, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren.

Walter Wade was born June 13, 1923, in Fort Worth and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 146 to date. He was a Baptist.

Peter Woodhouse was born Oct. 6, 1988, in Dallas. He was top of his class. He attended Memorial Baptist Church in Grapevine with his family. He had traveled to England, Hawaii, New Hampshire and Walt Disney World in Florida and Sea World in San Antonio. He loved to ride his go-cart and won 2nd place in the Pinewood Derby with the cart that he built with his dad. He was a buckaroo with the Assembly of God Church of Colleyville with his nanny Penny. He was a member of the YMCA and loved computers, computer games and learning. He also played soccer and basketball and loved to swim and dive.
