Sherwin Agee was born Feb. 8, 1919, in Hamilton.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to the Staked Plains Masonic Lodge of Big Spring and received his 50-year pin in 1996. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Arlington.

FORT WORTH -- Pauline Dial, 75, a retired Lamesa Auction Cafe cook in Lamesa, died Jan. 2 at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at True Love Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Entombment: Laurel Land Mausoleum. Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Pauline Dial was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Lamesa, the daughter of the late Dewey Clifton Williams and Lena Mae Thomas Williams. She grew up in Lamesa and lived there most of her life. She met and married Joseph Dial, who preceded her in death.

She was a loyal and faithful member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Lubbock for many years. Mrs. Dial was a midwife for her community and received formal training in her profession at the School of Nursing in Lubbock. She delivered nearly 100 babies, several of whom were her own grandchildren. She loved caring for others and freely gave her store of homeopathic wisdom. Pauline had a home remedy for nearly every situation.

She was a loving and patient mother and fun to be around. Her lively spirit was contagious and she found great joy in entertaining and feeding friends and family members. Her grandchildren were a source of pride and pleasure to her and she cherished spending precious hours with them.

Bill Max Lawing was born Oct. 10, 1926, in Fort Worth and was a Dallas resident for 37 years. He was retired from Marshal Moody Inc. in Dallas and had been a display director for Stripling's Department Store in Fort Worth.

Mr. Lawing graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth and studied at Parson's School of Design in New York on a full scholarship. He was an accomplished designer and artist and designed many theatrical costumes for university and professional performers.

Sherman Pressley was born March 6, 1915, in Mansfield. He married Emma Jane "Sally" Peoples on Sept. 22, 1933, in Mansfield. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 1978. He married Jimmie Waters on Sept. 26, 1980, in Mansfield. He was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Mansfield. He was a pickup man for Kow Bell Rodeo from 1959 to 1978 and worked several cattle auctions as bid starter. He was preceded in death by one son, J.T. "Red" Pressley Sr., on Sept. 16, 1980.

KENNEDALE -- Harvey Privett, 81, a retired Oil States Rubber Company employee, died Monday in Arlington.

Harvey Privett was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Blount County, Ala. He had been a resident of Kennedale for 14 years and was a former resident of Paris, Texas. He was a very loving and caring father and grandfather. He was a Mason and belonged to the Sam R. Hamilton Masonic Lodge. He was employed by Oil States Rubber Company for 22 years and retired in 1968.

He was preceded in death by Anna Ruth Privett.

ARLINGTON -- T.B. "Red" Thompson, 65, an engineer, died Saturday in Dallas.

T.B. Thompson was born March 28, 1931, in Seattle, Wash.

He was a Marine Corps veteran. Red went to work at Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical in San Diego, Calif. There he helped design and engineer the altimeter for the lunar landers and the piloting programs for the Viking Space Probes. He then relocated to Arlington where he worked for and retired from LTV.
