Lina Alvarez was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Bardwell.

She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Temple. Mrs. Alvarez was a loving and caring mother who thought of others before herself. Reverend Woody Godbey will officiate.

RAYMONDVILLE -- Pauline Bowen, 97, died Thursday in Raymondville, where she lived with her daughter, Bettie B. Edwards, for the past five years.

Pauline Bowen was born Sept. 16, 1899, in Fort Worth. Her parents, Flora and Reese Jameson, were early Fort Worth settlers. She was a descendant of Quanah Parker. She lived in Tarrant County all her life until 1993, when she moved to the Rio Grand Valley. She was a graduate of North Side High School and was a charter member of the North Fort Worth Woman's Club. For a number of years she worked full and part time at Haltom's Jewlery Store. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Raymondville, Texas, and was a former member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church.

Pallbearers: Grandsons, Bob Reese Bowen, Edwin Parker Edwards, James Robert "Bob" Edwards; nephews, Jerry Reese Reed and Kenneth Reed; and great-grandson, Bryan Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Bowen, in 1975, and her parents, five brothers, and sister, Nell Reed.

Troy Eubank Jr.
COLLEYVILLE -- Troy Eubank Jr., 73, a retired supervisor and quality control engineer, died Saturday at a Bedford nursing home.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 2235 Pearson Ln., Keller. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 7 to 9 tonight.

Mr. Eubank was born July 13, 1923, in Burkburnett.

He graduated from North Side High School in 1941. In 1942, Mr. Eubank joined the Navy and flew escort duty in blimps until his honorable discharge in 1945. In 1953, Mr. Eubank began work at the newly opened General Motors Assembly plant in Arlington as a specifications clerk. In 1963, Troy moved his family to Royal Oak, Mich. where he took the position of Quality Control engineer with General Motors Assembly Division. In 1978, Mr. Eubank and family moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. where he was employed as the supervisor of power tools at the local General Motors Assembly plant. Mr. Eubank retired in 1985, after 32 years of employment.

Troy was an avid and acomplished pilot who truly loved the camaraderie and fellowship shared by all who fly. He earned his private pilot license in 1967 and instructors license along with his commercial and IFR ratings in 1970. Mr. Eubank was an architect who designed several churches in the Metroplex. Troy was also a western artist, who reflected his love for the west through his paintings. He was an accomplished singer who performed at numerous church events as a soloist.

Troy will be truly missed and long remembered by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by grandson, Richard Eubank.

LITTLETON, Colo. -- Craig "Mumbles" Hattaway, 17, a landscaper, died Friday in Pueblo, Colo. from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Mr. Hattaway was born Feb. 17, 1979, in Fort Worth.

He died in a car accident while returning home to Colorado after a Christmas visit with his mom and family. He lost control of his car and was thrown out of the driver's compartment. Craig "Mumbles" Hattaway was well respected and loved by everyone whose life he touched and will be remembered and missed by many.

AUSTIN -- Hallie Dority Shannon, former Fort Worth resident for 52 years, and a resident of Austin the past three years, died Dec. 23 after a short illness.

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church, 2001 Bonnie Brae, Fort Worth. Her ashes will be scattered on the Dority family plot, as were those of her late husband, Joseph Paul Shannon, in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Tenn.

Hallie, daughter of William Frank and Eveline Bowers Dority, was born at Thomason's Landing, near Cumberland City, Montgomery County, Tenn., on April 28, 1903. She graduated from high school in Clarksville, Tenn., and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Southwestern Presbyterian University, then in Clarksville, now in Memphis. In 1950, she earned a master of arts degree from Texas Christian University. She was a member of Theta Theta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Teachers, the American Association of University Women, and the Birdville Association of Retired Teachers.

Hallie taught school for one year each in Salem, Va., and Pensacola, Fla., two years in Warren, Ark., three years in Vian, Okla., and 26 years in the Birdville Independent School District. She was named Dean of Girls for Birdville High School in 1943, and assistant principal in 1953. She retired in 1969. In 1989, the Haltom High School Building was converted to an Education Center and named the Hallie D. Shannon Education Center.

Survivors: Two sons, Paul Daughrity Shannon of Austin and Patrick Joseph Shannon of Houston; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She had a dynamic career in the fashion industry, most recently as owner and manager of Dorothy's of Arlington and Dorothy's of Duncanville. She was a member of the Christian Church, and the Fort Worth Soroptomist International Club.

was so much we learned from her every day. Her innocent look at life
