BEEVILLE - Kenneth Hardin Byars, an Army veteran of World War II, fuel farm inspector and a member of Church of Christ, died June 22, 1999. He was 80.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Patti Wolf of Reno, Nev., and Carolyn Fox of Ingleside; a son, Kenneth Byars of Beeville; a sister, Tillie Rawlings of Houston; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Alexander Joseph Caldwell, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, died June 21, 1999. He was 77.
Survivors include a son, Alexander Caldwell of Florida; two daughters, Mary Gross of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Patricia Story of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Gladys Certain of Corpus Christi; five sisters, Catherine Jarvis of Grand Saline, Esther Krause of Galveston and Mary Doeppenschmidt, Patricia Crocker and Alice Labonte, all of Corpus Christi; a brother, Charles Caldwell of Clute; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Dorothy "Dot" Daniel, a homemaker, beautician, artist and member of Arlington Heights Community Church and the Art Association of Corpus Christi, died June 22, 1999. She was 57.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; two daughters, Janell Matula and Bridgette Dimbleby, both of Corpus Christi; a son, William Daniel of Corpus Christi; and five grandchildren.

SKIDMORE - Genoveva Parra Garcia, a homemaker and Catholic, died June 23, 1999. She was 95.
Survivors include six daughters, Leona Sosa of Wellington, Margarita Morales of Skidmore, Stella Guajardo of Lafayette, La., Adela Donahue of Orange Grove and Tillie Zavala and Litcha Puga, both of Beeville; four sons, Alvino and Richard Garcia, both of Skidmore and Nick and Henry Garcia, both of Slidell, La.; a sister, Eva Mayorga of Houston; 47 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Hattie Lee Gipson, a former nurses' aide and a member of St. John's Baptist Church and Missionary Society Circle B, died June 21, 1999. She was 87.

Charles E. King
SPARKS, Nev. - Charles E. "Chuck" King, a Marine veteran of Vietnam War, an Air Quality Specialist II for Washoe County Health Department and a member of Veteran Foreign Wars and a former Corpus Christi resident, died June 17, 1999. He was 51.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine "Kitty"; his mother and stepfather, Cora and Hiliaro Leal of Corpus Christi; two stepbrothers, Steve Leal of Robstown and Albert Leal of Portland; and stepsister, Wanda Weaver of Slidell, La.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. June 29 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church.

OTTUMWA, Iowa - Jose Garza Lozano, a former Falfurrias resident, a retired employee of Louis Rich Co., died June 18, 1999. He was 62.
Survivors include four daughters, Norma Nino of Marshalltown, Iowa, Cynthia Lozano of San Diego and Anna Lopez and Georgina Lozano, both of Alice; four sons, Joe Trevino of Ottumwa, Joe Lozano Jr. of Falfurrias, Rafael and Arnold Lozano, both of San Diego; two stepdaughters, Mary Phillips of Ottumwa and JoAnn Lozano of Alice; five brothers, Jose Palacios and Juan, Adolio, Bruno and Servando Lozano, all of Falfurrias; three sisters, Eldie Bubenik, Tomasita Longoria and Mercedes Molina, all of Falfurrias; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
