ALICE - Alice D. Brown, a former home economics and fourth-grade teacher, member of the First United Methodist Church and member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, died July 8, 1999. She was 82.
Survivors include her husband, D.C.; two daughters, Carole Hudson of Austin and Linda MacMahon of Alice; two sisters, Jean Ann Ward of Uvalde and Helen Willemin of Fort Worth and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. July 10 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Hunter C. Culley
Hunter Cage Culley, infant son of Ginger and Joseph Culley II, died July 7, 1999.
Other survivors include his grandparents, Joe and Carol Culley, of Corpus Christi, Jim and Sheryl Warengo, both of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Bobby and Linda Saenz, of Corpus Christi and his great-grandparents, Ted and Ramona Bullard, of Nordheim, Janie Lopez of Edna and Doris Culley of Corpus Christi.
Services will be at 2 p.m. July 10 at Memorial Funeral Home, Holly Chapel. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park.

Joe B. Hunt
Joe B. Hunt, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, member of Windsor Park Church of Christ and owner of Hunt Construction Co., died July 7, 1999. He was 80.
Survivors include his wife, Clara; a daughter, Pamela Holder of Corpus Christi; two sons, Eddy Joe Hunt of Corpus Christi and Ped Hunt of Andalusia, Ala.; two sisters, Edith Keener of Mercedes and Trudy Stansbury of Rio Hondo; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. July 10 at Windsor Park Church of Christ. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park.

Precious S. Martinez
Precious Safire Martinez, infant daughter of Samuel and Noemi Martinez, died July 6, 1999.
Other survivors include six brothers, Samuel, James, Javier, Guadalupe and Adrianroy Martinez and Mario Arrendondo; four sisters, Samantha, Sabrina, Marileigh and Diamond Martinez; two stepbrothers, Christopher and Aaron Rodriguez and her grandparents, Olivia Martinez, Eliseo Martinez, Marielena Rodriguez and Jose Rodriguez.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to noon July 10 at New Funeral Options.

Petra M. Montemayor
ODEM - Petra Martinez Montemayor, a homemaker, died July 9, 1999. She was 87.
Survivors include four sons, Gilbert, Eduardo and Jesus Montemayor, all of Sweetwater, and Mario Montemayor of Odem; three daughters, Consuelo Vela of San Antonio, Josefina Lara of Odem and Herlinda Rodriguez of Baytown; 33 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren and 23-great-great-grandchildren.

ST. PAUL - Charles Eugene "Gene" Simons, owner of Simons Sprey Service, died July 8, 1999. He was 56.
Survivors include his wife, Rossette of St. Paul; two sons, Troy Simons of Stillwater, Okla., and Chad Tannehill of Sinton; three daughters, Gina Simons of Enid, Okla., Ramona Phillips of Beaumont and Tammy Carver of Blackwell, Okla.; a brother, John Simons of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Rosalie Terrell of Aline, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. July 10 in John J. Welder Memorial Park.

Destiny Angel Castro, infant daughter of Joe Castro and Heather Benitez, died July 7, 1999.
Other survivors include a brother, Joe Castro Jr. of Corpus Christi; two grandparents, Fidencio and Juanita Castro, both of Corpus Christi; and a great-grandmother, Thomasa Hernandez of Corpus Christi.

H.B. Marshall
ROBSTOWN - H.B. Marshall, owner of Bargain Corner Used Cars, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, American Legion Post 364 and the Czech Heritage Society, died July 10, 1999. He was 73.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Marshall of Robstown, and George and Herman Marshall Jr., both of Corpus Christi; four sisters, Evelyn Cichershi, Willie Mae Kubiak, Dorothy Sorsby and Christine Swiech, all of Houston; a brother, Marion Marshall of Houston; and two grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. July 12 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. July 13 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Burial will be in Robstown Memorial Park.

Domingo Acuna
KINGSVILLE - Domingo Acuna, an Army veteran of World War II, died July 12, 1999. He was 80.
Survivors include his wife, Lucrecia; a daughter, Dalia Wrobel of Houston; two sons, Jesse and Robert Acuna, both of Houston; three sisters, Facunda Sambrano of Plano, Reyes Costilla of Madera, Calif., and Ambrosia De Leon of Kingsville; a brother, George Acuna of Madera, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. July 15 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. July 16 at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.

Alida T. Alaniz
KINGSVILLE - Alida T. Alaniz, a retired teacher and counselor, former chairwoman of American Cancer Society for Kleberg County, former president of American Association of University Women, Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Society and South Texas Chapter for Exceptional Children, a secretary of Legion of Mary and a treasurer of Soroptimist Club, died July 12, 1999. She was 83.
Survivors include her husband, Raul; two daughters, Iza Gonzalez of Brownsville and Dorina Thomas of Dallas; two brothers, Bruno Trevino of Vero Beach, Fla., and Manuel Trevino of Port Arthur; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gladys L. Cross
Gladys Loraine Cross, former employee of Southern Alkali and Sears Roebuck & Co., and a member of Annaville Baptist Church, died July 12, 1999. She was 82.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ann Miller of Corpus Christi; a son, Brad Lee Cross of Austin; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Emmit Henry Ford died July 10, 1999. He was 88.

WOODSBORO - Melvin K. "Pete" Gillespie, a retired farmer and member of First Baptist Church, died July 13, 1999. He was 89.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Belle; a daughter, Loretta Hodde of Brenham; two sons, Dennis Gillespie of Victoria and Kent Gillespie of Houston; a sister, Lucille Blaschke of Granbury; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

William J. Guckian
BEEVILLE - William J. "Jay" Guckian, a contract appraiser for San Patricio County Appraisal District and retired soil scientist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, died July 13, 1999. He was 66.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; three sons, Gerald Guckian of Beeville, Howard Guckian of Elgin and Jimmy Guckian of Round Rock; his mother, Alma Guckian of Lockhart; two sisters, Patty Damerau of Wimberly and Alice Queen of Fentress; a brother, David Guckian of Dale; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. July 15 at McCurdy Funeral Home, Lockhart. Burial will be in Lockhart City Cemetery.

ARANSAS PASS - Barbara Hayes died July 12, 1999. She was 51.

Gricelda Elvira Jasso, a retired employee of Haggar Clothing Manufacturing, died July 12, 1999. She was 59.
Survivors include her husband, Alvaro; a daughter, Lirva Salazar of Corpus Christi; four sons, Rubin, Alecio, Noe and Alvaro Jasso Jr., all of Corpus Christi; four brothers, Agapito Hinojosa of San Antonio, Rolando, Ambrosio and Joel Hinojosa, all of Ciudad Mier, Mexico; a sister, Romelia Hinojosa of Monterrey, Mexico; and six grandchildren.
Rites of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. July 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Panteon Municipal Cemetery, Cuidad Mier.

DALLAS - Gilbert Johnson, formerly of Corpus Christi, died July 10, 1999. He was 75.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; three sons, Wes Johnson of Waco and Gil and Scott Johnson of Dallas; a daughter, Holly Long of Dallas; a sister, Lorene Gregory of Tyler; a brother, Bill Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.

WOODSBORO - Danny George Levick, an Army veteran, gauger and member of Church of Christ, died July 12, 1999. He was 60.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; two daughters, Julie Fromme of Berclair and Christine Levick of Woodsboro; three sons, Allen Levick of Woodsboro and Danny and Michael Levick, both of San Antonio; his mother, Loree Levick of Refugio; a sister, Priscilla Levick of Refugio; and six grandchildren.
