Opal Louise Bass, 77, of Warren died June 17 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills under the direction of Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Palestine, she lived in Warren many years.

Survivors include her son, Mike Bass of Kountze; daughter, Carolyn Carline of Bridge City; brothers, Lacy Oldham of San Angelo and Harold Oldham of Houston; sister, Janice Kelly of Mississippi; and three grandchildren. 

CLEIGHTON LARRY BUSHNELL

Cleighton Larry Bushnell, 70, of Beaumont died June 17 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephenís Episcopal Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussardís Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Glenmora, La., he lived in the Beaumont/Nederland area many years and was a retired Chevron U.S.A. senior buyer and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Lee Bushnell of Beaumont; sons, Cleigh Bushnell of Sour Lake and Bob Bushnell of Beaumont; brother, Richard C. Bushnell of Woodworth, La.; and four grandchildren.

Jimmie Dennis, 78, of Silsbee died June 17 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

A lifelong resident of Silsbee, he was a Kirby Lumber Co. heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Dennis of Silsbee; son, Darrell Dennis of Lumberton; daughter, Sue Morgan of Silsbee; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

ROSE MARY FERTITTA FAZIO

Rose Mary Fertitta Fazio, 88, of Beaumont died June 17 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Broussardís Mortuary in Beaumont. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Shreveport, La., she was a lifelong resident of Beaumont.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary OíNeill and Bernadette Moncla, both of Beaumont, and Dolores Crane of San Antonio; sisters, Dora LiBerto of San Antonio and Nancy Fertitta and Herrietta Fazio, both of Beaumont; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. 

JOHN CHRISTIAN HULSE

John Christian Hulse, 22, of Nederland died June 17 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Tabernacle in Nederland with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussardís Mortuary in Nederland. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

A native of New Iberia, La., he lived in Nederland many years and was a Billís Floor Installation Service carpet installer.

Survivors include his father, Gregory Sliger of Nederland; grandfather, Thomas McCraw of New Iberia; and brothers, Jonathan Philip-Michael Sliger and Jason Thomas Hulse, both of Nederland. 

FAITHE REDMAN JORDEN

Faithe Redman Jorden, 87, of Beaumont died June 17 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Broussardís Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was a Beaumont ISD music teacher.

Survivors include her husband, John P. Jorden Sr. of Beaumont; sons, John P. Jorden Jr. of Damon and Calvin E. Jorden of Lumberton; daughters, Jorene Pemble and Jinny Jorden, both of Beaumont, and Betsy Brownlee of Houston; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Flay Irene Phelps, 59, of Sour Lake died June 18 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Sour Lake with burial at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake under the direction of Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A longtime resident of Sour Lake, she was a retired real estate agent.

Survivors include her husband, Windol E. Phelps of Sour Lake; daughter, Windi Anne Fourdraine of West Chesterfield, N.H.; son, Michael Eston Phelps of Sour Lake; sister, Dora Wheeler of Sour Lake; and two grandchildren.

Maud M. Rutledge, 83, of Orange died June 18 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A lifelong resident of Orange, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Johnston of Orange; son, William Rutledge Jr. of Orange; brother, E.W. Montgomery Jr. of Beaumont; and five grandchildren.

A.A. "Chick" Tharp Jr., 80, of Groves died June 16 at his residence.

A native of Lindale, he lived in Groves many years and was a retired Neches Butane operator and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Tharp of Groves; daughters, Jane Landry of Beaumont and Judy Tharp of Groves; brothers, James Tharp of Dallas and Harold Tharp of Alamogardo, Mexico; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas LaDonn Trobaugh, 76, of Wildwood died June 17 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wildwood United Methodist Church with burial at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston under the direction of Broussardís Mortuary in Kountze. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.

He lived in Wildwood many years.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Trobaugh of Village Mills; son, Thomas L. Trobaugh Jr. of Pasadena; daughter, Donna Newcome of Pearland; and three grandchildren.

Chester Wrogg, 67, of Orange died June 17 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Orange, he was a retired machinist in the shipbuilding industry and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.

A native of Vermilion Parish, La., he lived in Beaumont many years and was a boilermaker and a Korean War veteran.

A native of Orange, he lived in Beaumont many years.

Robert F. Chiasson, 93, of Sugar Land died June 16 in Missouri City.

A native of Abbeville, La., he lived in the Golden Triangle area many years and was a retired Texaco paymaster.

Survivors include his daughter, JoAnn Plessala of Sugar Land; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Hilda Marie Dore, 99, of Port Acres died June 16 at Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Houston.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Breaux Bridge, La., she lived in Port Acres many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Ethel M. Miller of Houston, brother, Ernest LeBlanc of Lafayette, La.; sister, Clay Lee Jones of Dallas; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Daisy Cline Ewing, 93, of Silsbee died June 15 at Bur-Mont Nursing Home.

A native of Rosine, Ky., she lived in Hull most of her life and was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Danny Joe Basham of Saratoga and Lester Basham of Russellville, Ark.; daughter, June Reid of Mount Pleasant; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Fred M. Griffin Jr., 86, of Beaumont died June 16 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Calder Baptist Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until time of service Monday at the church.

A longtime resident of Beaumont, he was a homebuilder.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Griffin of Beaumont; son, Fred M. Griffin III of Florida; stepdaughter, Linda Sutton of Austin; and one grandchild.

A lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was employed with Triple S Construction.

A native of Camden, La., he lived in Beaumont and was a disabled U.S. Army veteran.

James Otto Shaw, 73, of Port Neches died June 17 at his residence.

A native of Alexandria, La., he was a longtime area resident and was a retired Union Oil electrician and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rainey Shaw of Port Neches; son, David Shaw of Beaumont; brother, Howard E. Shaw of Lompoc, Calif.; sister, Margaret Shaw Traylor of Austell, Ga.; and grandson, Brandin Shaw of Port Neches.

Justin Hance Simmons, 19, of Kountze died June 14 in Houston.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Broussardís Mortuary in Kountze with burial at Jordan Cemetery.

A native of Kountze, he had been working in Houston for a short time.

Survivors include his parents, David and Mary Simmons of Huntsville; brothers, Keith Simmons and Joshua Simmons, both of Huntsville; sisters, Rachel Simmons and Misty Simmons, both of Van Vleck; and grandparents, J.H. and Francis Gandy of Votaw and Aaron and Mildred Crain of Kountze.

Evelyn Curtis Williams, 55, of Dayton died June 16 at her residence.

Memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

A longtime resident of La Porte, she lived in Dayton many years and was a Baytown-La Porte tunnel guard.

Survivors include her husband, James Lee Williams of Dayton; daughters, Lee Harrelson and Beth Carter, both of La Porte, and Theresa Payne of Hinesville, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Jim Lee Womack, 89, of Silsbee died June 17 in Silsbee.

A native of Browndell, he lived in Silsbee most of his life and was a retired Texaco machinist.
