Mr. Shaw died Monday, September 25, at this residence. He was a native
of Newton and a lifelong resident of Brookeland. He was a truck driver
for Jerry Burch, Inc.
He is survived by his father, Claude F. Shaw Jr. and mother, Doris
Shaw of Jasper; his wife, Margie Leatherwood Shaw of Brookeland; a step
son, Glenn McMahon of Vidor; a daughter, Lisa Anderson of Tyler; a brother,
Larry Shaw of Montgomery; sisters, Carolyn Sue Armitage and brother-in-law
John of Jasper, Donna Graham of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Sandra Rocheter of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; and 2 grandchildren.

Mildred F. Adolph, 85 of Sam Rayburn, died Monday, November 27, at
Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. She was a native a Jackson County, Indiana
and had lived in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1935 until moving to Sam Rayburn
in 1999.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Adolph of Sam Rayburn; son,
James M. Adolph of Woodville; daughter, Nina Jean West of Sam Rayburn;
brother, Homer Forgey of Crown Point, Indiana; and sister, Nina Mae Conner
of Greenwood, Indiana.
Memorial services for Mrs. Adolph will be set for later date.

Graveside services for Hettye Florence Lollar, 94 of Winnipeg, Canada,

Mrs. Lollar died Oct. 14 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. She was a native
of Lockesburg, Ark., and former resident of Rayburn County. Survivors include
her daughter Mary Sue Tiffin and husband Doug of San Jose, Calif., two
grandchildren, Jeremy Tiffin of Waco and Bethany Tiffin of San Jose, Calif.

Funeral services for Eva Lucille “Lucy” Fussell, 62 of Jasper, will
be 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with burial

the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fussell died Oct. 24 at her residence in Jasper. She was a native
of Wanilla, Miss. and a former resident of Golden Acres as well as a longtime
resident of Jasper. She worked as manager for Joc Stop #9 for over 14 years.
Survivors include her three sons, Kenneth Wayne Fussell of Newton,
Charles Ray Fussell of Jasper, and Joshep Craig Fussell of Kirbyville;
two stepsons, Lynn Fussell and Curtis Fussell both of Kirbyville; 6 brothers,
Joseph Smith, Jr. of Anacoca, La., Robert Smith of Jasper, Jimmy Smith
of Pasadena, Ray Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Dale Smith of Baytown, and Joe
Troy Smith of Saratoga; 5 sisters, Mildred Crain of Kountze, Evelyn Randall

in Beaumont. A native of Gillette, Arkansas and former longtime resident

was a graduate of Jasper High School, Class of ’97. She is survived by

Gene Dunman, 46 of Jasper, died at the University of Texas Hospital
in Galveston Wednesday, October 2, 2002.
A native of Houston, Texas he lived in Shreveport, Louisiana for many
years before moving to Jasper 14 years ago. He was an employee with Halliburton
as a contractor.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2002 at
Forest Oaks Chapel with interment to follow at the Magnolia Springs Cemetery
in San Augustine County. Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2002 from
3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his mother Mary Ruth Boyett of Jasper and a stepfather
Norman Boyett of Jasper. Brothers Bryan K. Dunman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin,

Funeral services are pending today for young Savanna Guillory, the
daughter of Brandon and Bridgett Guillory who died Tuesday, December 3,
following an illness at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
Over the last few weeks the illness has not only hit the family emotionally
but also financially prompting friends and family members to set up an
account for the family at the First National Bank here in Jasper.

A native of Elizabeth, Louisiana and longtime resident of Orange, he
had lived in Buna 20 years and was a retired Boilermaker with Local #587
in Orange.

Jeannette Pittman of Jasper; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Baptist Church in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation
will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home
in Kirbyville.
A native of Kirbyville, she had lived several years in Port Arthur,
moving back to Kirbyville in 1966. She was a retired bank teller with Kirbyville
State Bank, which is now Community Bank. She was also a member of Central
Baptist Church in Kirbyville and a member of the Buna Art Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Lumpkin of Kirbyville; two daughters,
Pam Burditt and husband Charles of Conroe, and Sharon Harlan and husband
Mike of Nederland; a brother, Harold West and wife Dixie of Kirbyville;
three sisters, Bonice McBride and husband Fred of Kirbyville; Bernice Grimes
of Baytown, and Mary Smith of Highlands; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services for Ethel Mae Hughes Bean, better known as “Mom
Mae” will be held Saturday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the Jasper City
Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the James Crowder Funeral Home in
La Marque, Texas on Friday, January 23 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Bean was born Ethel Mae McQueen, in Jasper on October 24, 1906 and
was preceded in death by her parents William H. and Annie Clines McQueen
as well as her husband William “Fred” Hughes who was a firefighters that
lost his life in the Texas City disaster in 1947.
Survivors include her sister Jess Westbury of Beaumont, a son James
Wesley Hughes and his wife Margaret, two daughters Anna Louise Miller and
her husband Lynn of Texas City and Vivian Hughes Scott of Jasper, 7 grand
children and 5 great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the
American Diabetes Foundation or to Westhaven Church of Christ in Texas
City or to the Jasper Public Library.

Lee Edward Cooper, 77, of Jasper died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at
Dickerson Memorial Hospital in Jasper. A native of Anaheim, CA and formerly
of Grants Pass, OR, he had lived in Jasper for the past three years. He
was a member of the American Legion Post #0045 of LaPine, OR and was a
self employed Business Promoter. He was a WWII U.S. Merchant Marine Veteran.
Survivors include his three sons, Lee Eugene Cooper of Las Vegas, NE,
Robert Stewart Cooper of Jasper, and Rickard Cooper of Winnie, one daughter
Judy Marie Cooper of Winnie, two siters, Ruby Drum Wright and Marybell
Legler both of Grants Pass, OR, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
