Christina Marie Higginbotham, 32, of Baytown, passed away, Friday, November 23, 2001 at her home.
Christina was born October 31, 1969 in San Bernardino, Calif. She lived in Baytown for the last 19 years and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
She is survived by her parents, John and Sandy Amon of Baytown; grandmother, Enid Amon of Rialto, Calif.; son, Branden Amon and daughter, Breeona Amon-McCann both of Baytown; brother, John Amon, Jr. of Baytown; aunts and uncles, Mary and Harry Ancelet of Baytown; Carol and Paul Doan of Victorville, Calif.; Pam and Dave Vamvakias of San Bernardino, Calif.; Judy and Tom Schnell of Palm Dale, Calif.; Michael and Trina Amon of Paison, Arz.; Kathy and Don MacFadden of Rialto, Calif.; Ellan and Gary Dale of Seattle, Wash.; Diane and Mike Brown of National City, Calif.; Pat and Maria Amon of National City, Calif.; Mary Eileen Amon of Redding, Calif.; Colleen and Mike Jennings of Ocean Side, Calif.; and cousins, Timothy and Kevin Vamvakias.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Navarre Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Navarre Chapel with Rev. Tom Dicus of Baptist Temple Church officiating.

Dr. Minnie Alice Robertson
Dr. Minnie Alice Robertson, 87, of Baytown, passed away, Sunday, November 25, 2001 at The Baytown Nursing Home.
Born July 2, 1914 in Marlin, Tx. to John Thomas Robertson and Minnie Jarell Slone Robertson. Dr. Robertson was a Professor of Arts at Lee College in Baytown. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree on May 31, 1943 from the University of Houston and later earned her Ph.D. She headed the department of Arts at Lee College for many years. She helped establish the Baytown Art League in 1952, taught music and art to children in Houston and Baytown for many years, worked for the Art Museum of Houston and had many pieces of art on display. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and presently a member of Rolling Acres Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Wanda Robertson Roussel of Corpus Christi; niece Sheri Boone Roussel of College Station; nephew Walt Slone Roussel of Corpus Christi; two aunts and numerous cousins and many friends and colleagues.
No services are planned at this time.

Gary Beryl Colvert
Gary Beryl Colvert, 55, of Timpson, passed away, Sunday, November 25, 2001 in a local hospital.
Gary was born April 14, 1946 in Arkansas. He was a veteran U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He was a transport supervisor with Dynege Co. and a member of Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Evie Colvert, brothers and sisters, Howard Colvert, Jr., Louise Redding, Carolyn Brazil and Helen Rea Colvert.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Colvert, son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Ann Brazil of Anahuac; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Tony Maris of Mont Brlvieu; Sharon and Mark Williams of New Caney; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ernest Lunday of Sheridan, Ark.; Glenda Flynn of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Autumn Wilson, Chad Brazil, Ashton Maris, Reed Maris, Bailey Williams and great-grandchild, Jordan Wilson.
Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2001 at Navarre Funeral Home.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at Navarre Chapel with Rev. James Mills officiating.
Interment will be at 3 p.m. today, November 28, 2001 at Bethel Cemetery, Breaden, Ark.

Joesph T. Auzenne
Joseph T. Auzenne, 75, passed away, Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at his home.
Joe Auzenne was a resident of the Baytown area for over 50 years and worked for Ethyl Corp for 32 years. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Sr. Club at St. John’s. He enjoyed playing his guitar and being with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Ruth Auzenne of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Yvonne Auzenne of Baytown; Calvin and Diane Auzenne of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jerrold Auzenne of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Delton and Theresa Auzenne of California; sisters, Gertrude Auzenne of Opelousas, La.; Gloria Sam of Plaisance, La.; sister-in-law, Joan N. Auzenne and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:30 p.m. today, November 30, 2001 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon John Singer.

Kevin L. Lord, passed away, Saturday, November 24, 2001.
He was born August 15, 1957 in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine, he spent most of his life in Baytown, where he worked at most of the chemical plants in the area, most recently for GDS Engineering.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vivian Alice Braley Lord and Thurmon c. Lord and half-brother, Glenn Lord.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Scott Lord of Waller and Jeffery Ryan Lord of Houston.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Robey Funeral Home in Baytown.

John R. Griffin
John R. Griffin, born April 21, 1936, passed away, Thursday, November 29, 2001.
John Griffin was born in DuQuoin, Ill. and was a graduate of DuQuoin High School where he played basketball and football and was class salutatorian in 1954. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1959 with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, and in 1963 he earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. He retired from Exxon in Baytown after 35 years of service in 1998. He held several positions with Exxon over his lengthy career primarily in scientific research areas. He is the co-inventor of a number of patents for “Super Condensed Mode Technology” for which he earned numerous awards including the CRC Outstanding patent Award in 1996. He was the type of guy who could do the Sunday crossword puzzle in just a few hours. He loved sports and loved his children. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Becky.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Paul B. Griffin and Linda and John F. Griffin both of Houston; daughters and son-in-law, Julia V. Lesinski of St. Louis; Ann E. Martin and Dennis of Lutz, Fla.; sister, Sandra Graves and her husband, Jim of Fenton, Mo.; grandchildren, Matthew Martin of Lutz; Andrew Lesinski and Rachel Lesinski of St. Louis; nephews, Jeffrey Graves, Jimmy Graves and Jason Graves of the St. Louis area.

Funeral services for Doris Antoine Sias, 68, of Crosby, will be Saturday, December 1, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. in Sterling White Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Sias and Rev. Donnie Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in White Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today, November 30, 2001, at the funeral home.
Doris was born June 18, 1933, in Beaumont, Texas to the late Mrs. Lucille Lewis of Cleveland, Ohio. She was raised by her grandmother, Elizabeth Johnson, of Liberty. She married Henry (Jack) Sias in 1959 and formed a family with thirteen children over the next forty-two years.
She is survived by her husband, Henry (Jack) Sias; children, Curry, Laura, Billy, Shirley, Lucille, Kelvin, Darlene, Dwayne, Shelia, Friday, Stacy, James, and the late Gesial; grandchildren, Anthony, Elizabeth, Richard, Clem, Reggie, Quincy, Sade, Jerry Jr., Shauna, Willie Jr., Natasha, Daniel Jr., Jasmin, Kenderick, Qutanna, Roger Jr., LaStacia, Jacob, Qudasia, Roxanne, Brandy, Billy Jr., and the late Antoinette; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law and friends.

David Griffin Killough
August 11, 1917 - November 28, 2001
David Griffin Killough was born August 11, 1917 in Belton, Texas, to Mabel Durham Killough and David Thornton Killough.
He graduated A&M College of Texas in 1939, BS Electrical Engineering and University of Houston in 1952, BS Mechanical Engineering and was a Texas Registered Professional Engineer. He was a retiree of Exxon-Mobil Corporation with 34 years of service, where he excelled at computer systems engineering. After retirement, he served eight years as Lecturer in Applied Computer Science Engineering at the University of Houston-Cullen College of Engineering. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Somerville. Brother Killough was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on March 24, 1945 at Goose Creek Lodge 1192 AF&AM in Baytown.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Thomas Killough, sons and daughter-in-law, David Thomas Killough of Houston; Dr. John Edwin Killough and Dianne White Killough of Austin; grandchildren, David Thomas’ son, Carl Thornton Killough of Phoenix, Ariz.; John’s and Dianne’s children, Edward Alexander Killough of San Francisco, Calif.; Claire Catherine Killough of Austin; sister, Downs Elaine Killough Baker of Grenada, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, John Henry Killough and wife Elizabeth Killough of Grand Prairie; sister-in-law, Jessie Thomas Shults of Cuero, Tx.; brother-in-law, William R. Aline Solis Wunsch was born in Baytown, on February 11, 1928 to Albert Solis and Allie Chavers Solis. She went to our Lord on November 27, 2001 at San Jacinto Hospital, Baytown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Willie Rizzuto, May O’Brien, brothers, Frank Clark, Gordon Solis and her husband, Eddie Wunsch.

Russell “Rusty” Jeno Hooks, of Crosby, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Russell was born March 13, 1961 in Crosby and lived in this area all of his life. He was a 1979 graduate of Crosby High School. He was a retired mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service - Central Vehicle Maintenance Facility of Houston. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Crosby.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paskel and Faye Hooks and Leonard and Minnie Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Robin Hooks of Crosby; parents, Paskel and Helen Hooks of Crosby; brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Julie Hooks of Dayton; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Steven Hobbs of Crosby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Rose Newkerk of Pasadena; sister-in-law and husband, Sheila and James Herman of Arlington, Tenn.; niece, Emily; nephews, David, Phillip, Alex and Tyler; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was born July 8, 1951, in Forth Worth, Texas. He worked as a rancher and was a member of the Methodist church.

Beatrice Lopez
Beatrice Lopez, 58, passed away, Thursday, November 29, 2001 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.
Beatrice Lopez, also affectionately known as Queen Bea and Mamie, dedicated her life to making others happy. She was a devoted wife of 41 years to Alfred Lopez, a loving mother of five and a proud grandmother of 16. A native Baytownian of 58 years, visitors felt welcomed to her home as she made every person feel loved, making her house feel like their own home. She celebrated every achievement of her children and grandchildren as if it were her own. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A 38 year member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and a dedicated “Guadalupana” associate. She enjoyed life and loved being with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Herrera.

Lorene Ainsworth
Lorene Ainsworth, 83, of Baytown passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 in a local hospital in Baytown.
Lorene was born in Maysville, Oklahoma July 17, 1918.
She had lived in Baytown since 1922 and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
With her late husband, Lorene owned and operated Ainsworth and Co. in Baytown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Ainsworth; her son, Blake Ainsworth; and her brother, Richard Burnett Jr.
She is survived by a son, Craig Ainsworth of Austin; grandson, Robin Ainsworth of Austin; and sister Jo Ann Lehde of Baytown.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church.
Visitation is Sunday, Dec. 2 at Navarre Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
A private graveside service for the family will take place before the memorial service at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Billy Joel Tate will officiate.

Larry was born September 18, 1937, in Kennedy, Texas, and passed away Thursday, November 29, 2001, in Baytown. He was a retired veteran having proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and collecting coins.

Faye Olive Dannenfelser, 89, of Baytown, passed away, Friday, November 30, 2001 at a local nursing home.
Faye was born December 13, 1911 in El Dorado, Kansas. She lived in Baytown for 20 years, was a homemaker and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Harold Dannenfelser, four sisters, one brother and an infant son.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Vic Stephens of Baytown; grandchildren, Mark and Karen Stephens, Gregg and Janet Stephens, Rex and Wendy Stephens, Brad and Patty Stephens, Brian Stephens, great-grandchildren, Glen, Keith and Heather Stephens, Jennifer and Jessica Stephens, Colt Stephens, Brandon, Matthew and Ashley Stephens, nieces and nephews, Rosy Smoot, Linda Argo and Norman James.

Annelisa Meyer Jones
Annelisa Inez Meyer Jones, 75, of Baytown, passed away, Tuesday, November 4, 2001 at BayCoast Hospital, Baytown.
She was born August 27, 1926 in Houston, the daughter of the late Hans Ludwig and Inez Meyer of Bellaire. She was a graduate of San Jacinto High School in 1943. Ann retired from Exxon in Baytown after 22 years in the purchasing department. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Exxon Annuitants, Baytown Gadabouts Camping Club, University of Texas Ex-Students Association, The Baytown Kiwanis Club and the San Jacinto High School Alumni Association. She immensely enjoyed her grandchildren, beachcombing, travel, gardening, camping, needlework and canning/preserving.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tommie Jones, daughters, Judy Reidy and Nancy Quayle, sons-in-law, John Reidy and Roger Quayle all of Houston; sons, Tommy Jones of Bluff Dale; Charles Jones of Cleveland; Darryl Jones of Austin; daughters-in-law, Lori Jones and Susan Jones, sister, Eleanore Pittman and brother-in-law, Archie Pittman of Wharton; grandchildren, Tim Reidy, Kate Reidy, Anna Quayle, Cara Quayle of Houston; Russell Jones, Stephanie Dunham, Joseph Jones, Christina Jones, Misty Jones, Cheryl Jones and Anna Jones.

Nancy Sue (MEME) Hughes, 63, was taken by the hands of our Lord, Monday, December 3, 2001 from San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.
She was a volunteer at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and also of the group, Keenagers at St. John’s. She was also the owner of H & H Plumbing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Edley Hughes, mother, Velma Loeffel, sister, Dorothy Elliotte.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sabrina Hughes, Donald and Lorene Hughes, daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and James Thibodaux, Darie and Alvin Houseman, Susie and John Ruiz all of Baytown; sisters and brother-in-law, Cak and Bob O’Neill of Tucson, Ariz.; Louise Follis of Memphis, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren, Daphne Salas, Dustin Hughes, Dominic Hughes, Derek Hughes, Justin Hughes, Josh Hughes, Shannon Thibodaux, Beau Thibodaux, Johnny Thibodaux, Jarod Thibodaux, Sandi Thibodaux, Jeffrey Thibodaux, Jaden Houseman, Caleb Houseman, Pepper Ruiz, JR Ruiz and Sydney Ruiz and one great-grandson, Bryce Hughes.

Fred L. Williams
Fred Lloyd Williams, 89, passed away, Monday, December 3, 2001 at Happy Harbor Methodist Home, La Porte.
He was a resident of Baytown and a former resident of Norwalk, Calif. He was born in Nevada, Iowa, March 29, 1912. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Thermador Electrical Manufacturing Company, Los Angeles, Calif.
He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer J. Williams, mother, Pearl Johns and brothers, John, Howard and Elmer Williams.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Kim Gregory, grandchildren, Kimberly, Anna and Daniel Gregory of Baytown; sisters, Gerry Douke of Luling; Zanita Switzer of Paris, Tx.; Bernice Anderson of Seattle, Wash. and brother, Ralph Willimas of Anaheim.
