LOIS VINCENT WHITE ADAMS
Lois Vincent White Adams, 85, passed away quietly October 4, 2002 at her home in Highlands after battling breast cancer for over 20 years. She was born in North Zulch, Texas on November 9, 1916. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Adams; her parents J.C. and Elizabeth White and her brother J.C. White, Jr. She is survived by one son, John White Adams and wife Cathy of Baytown and three grandchildren ; Ryan Adams and wife Brenda of Somerville, MA; Vincent Adams of Norfolk, VA; and Katherine (KK) Adams of Baytown. She was active in many organizations in the Highlands and Baytown area. These organizations include the San Jacinto Hospital Service Corps, where she was a past president and an active member for over 30 years. She worked weekly for the Service Corps until she was 84 years old. She was active in the Highlands High Flyers, particularly enjoyed playing Bridge and traveling with the group. She had a great love of Texas History and was a member of the Daughters of the Texas Revolution and the Descendants of the Battle of San Jacinto. She was the Great-Great Granddaughter of John Cary White who fought in the Battle of San Jacinto. She was active in Highlands United Methodist Church where she had been a member for over 50 years. At the church she was active on numerous lay committees throughout the years.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 7, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Willowhole Cemetery in Madison County, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Highlands United Methodist Church in Highlands, Texas. Following the service the family will receive guests in the Fellowship Hall.

LORETTA JASON
Loretta Jason passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2002 after a battle with cancer. Loretta was born in Oakridge, LA. on December 30, 1940. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2002 at Baker Road Baptist Church located at 900 W. Baker Road in Baytown. She is survived by her husband Paul R. Jason and their four children, David Jason, and his wife Amy, Renee King, and her husband Ed, Lori Kirk, and her husband Mike, Jay Jason, and his wife Sharon. She is also survived by her brother, James Pepper and his wife Tommie and their children, Ann Andrews and John Pepper and her sister, Betty Craiglow and her children, Mike and Carol. She also has nine grandchildren, Sean, Charisse, Alex, Emily, Lorin, Ryan, John Paul, Aaron, and Brianna. GARY WAYNE GULLETT
Gary Wayne Gullett, 49, of Baytown, died Friday, October 4, 2002 in a local hospital. Born on March 24, 1953 in Houston. He attended Lee High School and was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
Gary lived free and simple, with no concern for fashion. Wore the hats of a biker, golfer, chef, shrimper, boat captain, fisherman, musician, hunter, gardner, and friend to many, always with a jolly smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Branch and Esther Gullett.
Survivors include numerous friends from Baytown, the Hill Country, Corpus Christi, and any place he laid down his hat. Special friends were John Elkins and Joe Elliott.
Graveside service was at Memory Garden Cemetery in Baytown, on Monday, October 7, 2002. Arrangements were under the direction of Earthman Funeral Home, Baytown.

GREGORY FITZGERALD HILL
The sun rose in Hankamer, TX on January 18, 1964, bringing with it a new day and a new life.
Gregory Fitzgerald Hill was born to Willie Mae Hill and Otis Speights. He attended one year of school in the Anahuac school district, he also attended Goose Creek High School. He was a member of Word of Faith Church.
On Thursday, October 3, 2002, Gregory was visited by the angel of death and he departed this life. His passing brought sadness to the hearts of all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae Hill and Otis Speights, and brother Percy Hill.
To cherish his memories and patiently awaits that inevitable day, when they too will receive a visit from the same angel of death: his loving wife of 12 years, Ms. Dena Brown, sons: Krysler Hill, Christopher McClure, & Christian Brown; sisters: Ms. Valies Hill of Hankamer, Ms. Synthia Hill of Baytown, Mrs Patricia Constine (McArthur) of Baytown.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Friday, October, 11, 2002 at Walker Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services wlll be held at 11a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2002.
Burial will be at Richardson Cemetery, Hankamer Texas, (Speights Loop) with the Reverend Paul Speights officiating.

LLOYD DOOLEY
Lloyd Dooley, 87, of Baytown was born April 30, 1915, in Wilson, Oklahoma and passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2002 in a Baytown hospital.
A U.S. Navy WWII veteran, he was a member of the Dripping Springs Masonic Lodge #426 for over 50 years and a member of the Goose Creek Country Club in Baytown. He also retired from Brown and Root with over 50 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Dooley of Baytown; sister, Marie Maul of Lockhart; twin brother, Roy Dooley of Nacogdoches; and several nieces, nephews, and stepchildren.
At his request, his body is to be cremated and there will be no funeral services.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Jack Eugene Sanford, 63, of Baytown, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at a local hospital.He was born on June 17, 1939 in Bexar County, Texas. He was in the U.S. Navy, and Manager with Brown & Root. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hulda Sanford. KATHY LYNNE FRIDDLE
Kathy Lynne Friddle, 46, passed away October 4, 2002 in a Houston area hospital. Born on July 5, 1956 in Big Sandy, Texas. Her formative childhood years were spent in Pasadena, Texas, where she attended the local public school and church. Later, Kathy moved to Baytown and attended school.
She is survived by her daughter Angela N. Friddle, mother, Mozell Green and step-father, J.H. Green of Highlands, father, N.L. Friddle and step-mother, Jackie Friddle of Kilgore, sister, Linda Post of Round Rock, brothers, Michael and David Friddle, both of Highlands, nephews, Matthew, Robert, Lauren, and Tyler Friddle, nieces, Natasha Milliken, Danielle, Abby, and Samantha Post, aunt and uncle, Phillip and Sandra Friddle of Houston, and uncle, B.W. Summerville of Yuma, AZ., grandfather, Fred Friddle of Richmond, CA, and a host of other relatives and friends. JAMES LEE HALEY
James Lee Haley fell asleep in death, October 8, 2002. He was born on November 10, 1960 in McAllen, Texas and moved to Baytown in 1969. He graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Haley and sons, Allan and Kyle.
A memorial service will be held at the Baytown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1102 Cedar Bayou on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 10:00 a.m.

JESSIE MAE ST. RAMAIN
Mrs. Jessie Mae St. Romain, resident of Barrett Station, Crosby, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2002 in L.B.J. Hospital in Houston, Texas.

LESLIE JEAN WINDSOR HEARN
Leslie Jean Windsor Hearn passed into heaven on October 9, 2002. Leslie was born on May 7, 1980 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a life long resident of Baytown, Texas and a Cum Laude graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. Leslie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Eugene Windsor. She is survived by her loving husband, John Hearn, and precious children, Kelsea Savannah, John Dalton, and stepdaughter, Alyssa Lynn Hearn.
She will truly be missed by her loving parents, Gary and Barbara Odom, and cherished by her sister, Crystal Theeck. Several extended family members including grandmothers, Jean Hallmark and Adeline Windsor, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, many of which live in upstate New York.
She brought joy and sunshine to all lives that she touched. All of her friends and family are eternally blessed to have had her in their lives. REV. P. WALTER HENCKELL
Rev. P. Walter Henckell, 96, passed away on Friday, November 15,2002 at St. James House. Henckell was a life long resident of Baytown since 1939. He was born April 3,1906 in Birmingham,Alabama.
He was a Episcopal priest and was associated with the Trinity Episcopal Church. Henckell was a 50 year member of the Baytown Rotary Club and a member of the Baytown Shrine Club and also a member of the Elks Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lou Hayes Henckell, and son, Jack Henckell.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law; Kathleen Henckell and Walter Connoly-Georgetown; sisters; Elizabeth Henckell of Birmingham,Alabama; grandchildren; Christina Courson, and John Longnecker Jr.; great grandchildren; Jacob Longnecker, Stephanie Courson and twins Cody and Sarah; and also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Annie Eula “Aunt Dula” Fayle, 87, of Cove, Tx. passed away Friday, November 15,2002 in a local hospital. Fayle was born November 30,1914 in Chambers County,Tx. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, W.R. “Bill” Fayle, and her siblings.

Woodrow was a steel worker with Armco Steel, and a member of First Baptist Church of New Baden,Tx. He was a member of the Masons and the New Baden Lions Club.

THOMAS RAYMOND MCKEE
Thomas Raymond Mckee passed away on Saturday, November 16,2002. He was born December 1,1927 in Claredon,Tx. and lived in Baytown since 1962.
T.R. was known for being a skilled cabinet maker. He retired from Brown and Root and was a custom home builder and developer. He served as President of Baytown Home Builders Associations. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. His hobbies included working on old cars and collecting movies.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maggie McKee; brothers, Nathen and Harold McKee; sister, Doris McKee and daughters, Bonnie Meredith and Peggy Hunsinger.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean McKee; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and LaRue McKee; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Donna McKee, and John McKee; grandchildren Wendi Wilson, Samantha Hunsinger, Kris McKee and Michael McKee; great grandchildren, Elijah Wilson, Thomas Wilson and Gabriel McKee.

Kim H. Taylor of Baytown passed away on Thursday. Baytown native and graduate of Sterling High School.
Survived by his son Josh Nathan Taylor of Baytown, Father M.E. Taylor of Baytown, mother Olivia (Libby) Rhoades of Houston, brother Ed Taylor and wife Peggy of League City, sister Susan Bonsey and husband Rick of Wallisville, nieces and nephew and aunts Bernice Phillips of League City and Verna Davis Brower of Pflugerville.

KEN JONES
Ken Jones, 73, went to be with the lord on Saturday, November 16,2002 after a lengthy illness and he is now at peace.
He was a resident of Baytown for the past 30 years and worked for Brown and Root for 15 years. He enjoyed painting ceramics and making hook rugs.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, and twin sons.
He is survived by his wife of 12 1/2 years, Rose Jones of Baytown; daughters, Kaye Jones and Tina Jones of Baytown; sister, Beverly Robertson of Chico,California; grandson Shawn Aghajan of Baytown; stepchildren, Helena, Bobbie, Paula, Bonnie, Brenda, Richard, Junior, Tommy, Daniel, Charlie, Betty and Linda; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be today, November 18,2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home with Shawn Aghajan and Rev. Jim Black officiating.

CHUCK WARREN
Services for Chuck Warren, 35, of Houston was held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, November 17, 2002 in Englunds Chapel with the Rev. Carl Schwinck officiating.
Memorial services will be at 8 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2002 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Houston.
Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
He died Tuesday, November 5, 2002.
He was born January 18, 1967, in Lubbock and attended Coronado High School. He lived in Dallas in Dallas and Baytown before moving to Houston in 1993. He worked in home interior construction and was pursuing a music career in audio-engineering. He was a cantor for Sacred Heath Cathedral in Houston.
Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Zetha Warren of Baytown; a brother, Richard Kenneth Warren of Union City, N.J. and a sister, Michele Warren of Baytown.

FRANCES L. MASSEY
Frances L. Massey, 78, passed away, Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at her home in Livingston.
She was born on February 13, 1924 in Nimrod, Ark., the daughter of L.D. and Annie McElwee Williams, who have preceded her in death. Frances married Bill Massey in Hot Springs, Ark. on June 7, 1944. She was a member of Livingston Church of Christ.
Frances is survived by her husband, Bill Massey of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte A. and Bill Roberts of Cedar Creek, Tx.; son and daughter-in-law, Winford M. and Jackie Massey, Jr. of Houston; son, Tommy L. Massey of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Billy Blanchard of Galena Park; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta S. and Craig Spivey of Channelview; fifteen grandchildren, Robin Barrera, Lori Eietle, Jerry G. ORVAL "FOX" SMITH
Orval “Fox” South, USN-Retired, passed away in Beach City on the afternoon of November 19, 2002 at the age of 80.
He lived in Bridgeport, Connecticut and was visiting his daughter when he lost his courageous fight with colon cancer. He was born in Norris City, Illinois on August 12, 1922 to Archibald and Nellie Boyd South. He spent his life in the Navy until he retired as a Chief Petty Officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Dorothy.
His surviving family members include his sons, Orval W. South and his wife Donna of Portland, Ct. and Joe South and his wife Lisa of Bethlehem, Ct. daughter, Nancy Leacroy of Beach City and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 - 6:30 p.m. today, November 22, 2002 at L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors.

WINIFRED A. RUTTER
Winifred A. Rutter, 93, of Baytown, passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at a local hospital.
Winifred was born March 26, 1909 in Crawford, Tx. She lived in Baytown for 73 years, was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. With her husband, she was significantly involved in civic and charitable affairs from the early and developing years of the Baytown community.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, J.E. “Jake” Rutter.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James E. Rutter and Jeanette of San Antonio; daughter and son-in-law, Joan Rutter Marrow and husband Carl D. of Beaumont; sister, Dorothy Denton of Baytown; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Navarre Chapel with Rev. Joseph Spitler officiating.

BETTY JO LEONARD
Betty Jo Leonard, 61, of Tarkington, passed away, Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in Houston after an extended illness.
A native of LaPorte, she had lived the last 7 years in Tarkington. She was retired from Shirley and Sons Construction. Mrs. Leonard was a member of the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Baytown, formerly a member of the First Assembly of God in LaPorte where she was the church secretary and treasurer.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jimmy Leonard of Tarkington; son, Bobby Leonard and wife Laurie of Tarkington; daughter, JoJie DeLaGarza of Tarkington; brothers, Ronald Roy Shirley and Grover Dean Shirley both of Tarkington; sister, Charlene LaFitte of LaPorte; three grandchildren, Candi Renae Leonard, Robert Dale Leonard, II and Taylor Renae DeLaGarza. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 - 9:30 p.m. today, November 22, 2002 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown with Rev. Larry Hayes and Rev. Leroy Fleck officiating. Interment will follow at Ryan Cemetery.

LONNIE BROWN
Lonnie Brown entered into rest on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 in Houston at the age of 74.
He was born on June 2, 1928 in Anderson County, Texas to the union of Jeff and Cora Brown. Mr. Brown proudly served his county in World War II with the U.S. Army. He has been the owner of Lonnie Brown Paint Company of Channelview, Texas for over 43 years and all of those years he was a Benjamin Moore Dealer. Mr. Brown has been a respected businessman in the North Channel area, including Baytown, Crosby and Dayton for over 45 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lester Brown.
Mr. Brown leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 53 years, Jackie Brown and children, Diann Sanchez and husband Dan, Donna Page and husband Darwyn, Kay Brown and friend Johnny Alverson, Delton Brown and wife Rene and Danny Brown; 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brothers, Elmer Brown and wife Doris, Clarence Brown and wife Lottie, J.L. Brown and wife Betty and Harold Brown and wife Katheryn, sisters, Elsie Humphrey, Mary Vannoy, Ola Mae McGee and Gennie Mae Brown and husband W.H.
The Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. today, November 22, 2002 at Memorial Baptist Church of Channelview SBC, 15720 Proctor in Channelview. Rev. Kenneth Trent and Rev. Bruce Whitmire will officiate. Interment will take place at San Jacinto Memorial Park.

HENRY (BUDDY) TRCHALEK, JR.
Henry (Buddy) Trchalek, Jr., 66 of Kenefick passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2002 at his home.
Buddy was born September 20, 1936 in Baytown. Buddy was born and raised in Baytown, living many years in Kenefick. He retired as a butcher after working in surrounding areas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Trchalek, Sr. and sister, Patsy Broussard.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Trchalek of Kenefick; mother, Cora Trchalek of Baytown; son, Fred Trchalekof Baytown; daughters, Terry Sackett and Jimmy of Kenefick; Janet Jossrand of Dayton; sister, Betty Macken of Baytown and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 - 6 p.m. and visitation will continue until 9:30 p.m. today, November 23, 2002 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2002 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

IDA K. WALTON
Ida K. Walton, M.D. born February 26, 1915 in Galva, Iowa, passed away November 21, 2002 in Houston at the age of 87.
Dr. Walton was the first female Board Certified Dermatologist in the state of Texas. She attended Lamar University in Beaumont, graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, and graduated from UTMB Galveston in 1947. She began her practice of medicine at the Blacks Pharmacy Building in Baytown and later at the Memorial City Professional Building in Houston, in 1967. She was also a member of the Baytown Pilot Club and co-founder of the Baytown Bantam League Baseball Organization.
Ida is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Worth Walton, of whom she was married for 56 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Arthur Walton and Mark Walton, grandchildren she cherished, Jeffery, Erin, Allison, Alexandria and Jonathon Walton, sister, Mary Daberkow, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
The family received friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at Forest Park - The Woodlands.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, November 23, 2002 in the Chapel of Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Meadows officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Park - The Woodlands Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions in Dr. Walton’s memory, to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
