John A. Morse
PITTSBURG - Services for John A. Morse, 84, of Pittsburg will be held
at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg.
Interment will follow at 3 p.m. with graveside services at Oakwood Cemetery
in Corsicana. Mr. Morse died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at East Texas Medical
Center in Pittsburg. He was born June 17, 1913, in Union County, Miss.
He had resided in Pittsburg since 1980, having moved from Lake Whitney.
Mr. Morse, a member of Laguna Park Baptist Church in Laguna Park, was a
retired boilermaker superintendent and was associated with the International
Boilermakers Union Local 531 for 57 years. Mr. Morse was preceded in death
by his wife, Hazel Morse, on Aug. 4, 1982; his father, John Wesley Morse;
his mother, Smantha Anne Hazelrig Morse; a son, Billy Alton Morse; and
a granddaughter, Sheryl Morse. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law,
Johnny and Noretta Morse and Gerald Morse, all of Pittsburg; 11 grandchildren;
25 great-grand- children; and seven great-great- grandchildren. Mr. Morse's
grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 7-9 this evening at
the funeral home.

Joe C. Clark
KILGORE - Joe C. Clark, 82, of Kilgore gave up his earthly existence
on May 28, 1998, and now resides with his Lord and Savior. Graveside services
will be held at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1,
1998, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Duggins
officiating. Family visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Rader Funeral
Home in Kilgore. J.C. Clark was virtually a lifelong resident of Kilgore.
He was a direct descendant of "Deaf" Smith, who was a famous Texas scout.
He was a retired newspaper distributor for the Dallas Morning News and
the Longview News-Journal. He was also co-founder of Clark Power Tool and
Clark Marine in Kilgore. He was a member of the Forest Home Baptist Church.
Mr. Clark is survived by his loving wife, Mabel; his children, Bobby Clark
of Racine, Wis., David and Patty Clark of Lake Cherokee and Rosemary and
J. Bagwell of Longview; his grandsons, Joe David, Randall, Patrick and
Clary Clark and Jud Bagwell; his granddaughters, Mrs. Kelyn Alford, Mrs.
Robin McLeish and Mrs. Deanne Bagwell Rose; eight great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the
building fund of Forest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore.

A Hallsville High School graduate, he was a Baptist and an auto mechanic.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his father and stepmother, Raymond and Ethel
Taylor of Marshall; his mother, Wilma Taylor of Longview; a sister, Carrie
Taylor and husband Craig Ayers of New Diana; a stepbrother, William David
Walker of Essex, Md.; a stepniece, Amanda Ayers of New Diana; and numerous

James Alden Mansinger
Funeral services for James Alden Mansinger, 93, of Longview will be
held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview
with the Rev. Jonathan Jehorek and the Rev. Bill OÕNeal officiating.
Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Rock Springs Cemetery. Mr. Mansinger
had lived in Longview since the early 1930s. He was born in Rusk County
on Nov. 15, 1905. He retired from Norton and Barbee Grocery and pursued
ranching. Several years ago, he received an award for 50 years of perfect
attendance from the Kiwanis Club. He was a longtime, active member of the
First Presbyterian Church, serving on the session for many years. The family
will receive friends 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Mansinger's
great nephews will serve as pallbearers. He is survived by his wife, Maurine;
a sister-in-law, Oleta Mansinger of Henderson; his nieces, Mary Nelle Dickerson
of Longview and Wanda Louise Houston of Henderson; and his nephews, Edward
Mansinger of Longview and David Mansinger of Henderson.

Fern Bennett Ford
Graveside services for Fern Bennett Ford, 81, of Longview will be held
at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Memory Park Cemetery with Pastor Phillip
R. Fenton officiating. She was born, Dec. 29, 1916, in Barnsdall, Okla.
She died Thursday morning, Dec. 3, 1998, in Longview. Mrs. Ford, a 50-year
resident of Corpus Christi, had resided in Longview since 1986. She was
a homemaker and member of First Lutheran Church of Longview. She had been
an accountant for Mokeen Oil Co. Her husband, L.E. Ford, preceded her in
death. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Building
Fund, 600 W. Garfield, Longview, TX 75603, or to Hospice Longview, 1306
Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604. Mrs. Ford is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Billie and Bill Padgett of Longview; her granddaughters,
Terri Fields of Longview and Tracey Phillips of Roswell, N.M.; her grandsons,
Andrew and Taylor Fields; two sisters, Thelma Hawkins and Armel Anderson,
both of Borger; one niece; and two nephews.

Anna Bell Heathcock
Graveside services for Anna Bell Heathcock, 81, of Longview will be
held at 3:30 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements
are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home. Mrs. Heathcock died Thursday
morning, Dec. 3, 1998, in a local nursing home. She was a member of the
Baptist faith and had lived in Longview for 40 years. Survivors include
a brother-in-law and his wife, Gene and Alberta Heathcock, and a niece,
Dorothy Jean Smith.

Dora E. Hudson
HENDERSON - Services for Dora E. Hudson, 100, of Henderson will be
held at 10 a.m. today at Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Kuykendell
and the Rev. Bill Hitt officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudson, a Baptist and a homemker, died Wednesday at a Henderson health
center. She was born Jan. 15, 1898, in Lewisville, Ky.

Bob Knox Jr.
GILMER - Services for Bob Knox Jr., 53, of Ore City were held at 3
p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel with Brother
Craig Evers officiating. Burial was in Ore City Cemetery. Mr. Knox died
Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, in Longview. Born Nov. 28, 1945, in Marietta, Ga.,
he was of the Presbyterian faith and was employed by Lone Star Steel Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Clara Knox, and a sister,
Marie Ladner. Survivors include his wife, Julia Knox, one son, James "Jimmy"
Knox, and one daughter, Rita Clawson, all of Ore City; one brother, Ed
Knox of Denver, Colo.; and numerous other relatives. Pallbearers were Dwight
Bowers, Wayne Cason, J.R. Coulter, Jim Atchison, Donald Beene Jr. and Carl
Underwood. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American
Diabetes Foundation. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the
funeral home.

Willie Theo "Bill" Owen
GILMER - Services for Willie Theo "Bill" Owen, 88, of Fort Worth, formerly
of Gilmer, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Croley Funeral Home
Chapel in Gilmer with Dr. David Jenkins officiating. Interment will be
in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mrs. Owen died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998,
in Fort Worth. She was born July 8, 1910, in Gilmer, where she lived almost
all her life, and was a seamstress and a member of the First Baptist Church
of Gilmer. Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. "Hub"
Owen in January 1997. She is survived by her son, Tommy Owen of Fort Worth;
three grandchildren, Amy James, Amanda Owen and Adam Owen; two great-grandchildren,
Allison James and Blake James; a brother, Walter Davis of Kilgore; and
a sister, Clara Williams of Longview. Pallbearers will be Steve Dean, George
Dodd, Dicky Harrison, Larry Henson, Danny Johnson and Steve Stewart. Visitation
is 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.

Dr. Robert M. Park
Services for Dr. Robert M. Park, 85, of Longview will be held at 1
p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Elam officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carthage.
Dr. Park died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, in a Longview hospital. He was born
March 26, 1913, in Carthage and had been a resident of Longview since 1938.
Dr. Park was a graduate of the Illinois College of Chiropody and Foot Surgery
in Chicago. He was the owner of the Park Foot Clinic in Longview until
his retirement. Dr. Park was a member of the First Christian Church of
Longview and the Scottish Rite and Sharon Temple in Tyler. Dr. Park is
survived by his sister, Madie Garner of Hallsville; his brothers, Horace
R. Park of Hico and Bernard B. Park of Duncanville; and several nieces
and nephews, including Bill and Donna Park of Longview. He was preceded
in death by his wife, Lola S. Park, in April 1998. The family will receive
friends 7-8:30 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at the funeral home Memorial contributions
