Lloyd M. Varenkamp, a senior vice president and treasurer at El Paso Natural Gas Co. and a U.S. Army World War II veteran, died Saturday (Aug. 12, 2000). He was 75 and a resident of El Paso. 
Survivors include his wife, Ina Lou Varenkamp; his son, Bryan Varenkamp; his daughters, Cathy Rankin and Beth Hennings; two brothers; two sisters; and nine grandchildren. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-West. Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

Francisca Aguilar, 90, of El Paso died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Martin Funeral Home-Central with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Antonio S. Aguilar Jr. and Roberto S. Aguilar; her daughter, Leonor Stokes; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one niece, Alice McGill. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Luz Armendariz, 73, of El Paso died Monday (Aug. 14, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-Central with rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Cathedral. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Arturo; her sons, Robert Armendariz and Arturo Armendariz Jr.; his daughters, Lydia Cappeletti and Corina Segovia; three brothers; one sister; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Maria Magdalena Espinoza, 91, of El Paso died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen-Alameda. Survivors include her brother Pedro E. Espinoza Sr., and several nieces and nephews. She was a domestic housekeeper and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Jaime Flores Jr., 38, of El Paso died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). A funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Restlawn Chapel. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his parents, Jaime and Guadalupe Flores, and four sisters. He was a maintenance worker and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Virginia D. Ford, 79, of El Paso died Saturday (Aug. 12, 2000). Visitation will be from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. today in Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Benjamin Ford; her son Benjamin Ford Jr.; her daughter Deirdre L. Reed; and one grandchild. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Martha Alicia Franco, 22, of El Paso died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today in San Elizario Catholic Church with rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in San Elizario Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Survivors include her parents, Daniel and Aurelia Franco; her brothers Fernando Franco and Martin Franco; her sisters, Sandra Franco and Luz Elena Franco. She was a sales clerk at a convenience store and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Fernando Garcia Aveytia, 70, of El Paso died Friday (Aug. 11, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Sunset Funeral Home-Carolina with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in San Antonio Catholic Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Rosa; his sons, Fernando Aveytia and Edward Aveytia; his daughters, Betty Rios, Joanne Angulo and Norma Carrasco; seven sisters; 17 grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was a plumber and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Marcelo G. Garcia, 85, of El Paso died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today in Kaster-Maxon & Futrell-Northeast with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Margarita Q.; his son, Marcelo Garcia; his daughter, Rosa Maria Petrozza; one sister and one brother; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a retired auto mechanic for Casa Ford and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Santiago Garcia, 81, of El Paso died Saturday (Aug. 12, 2000). Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in San Jose Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Our Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Yolanda, his sons, Santiago Garcia, Wenceslao Garcia, Elmo Garcia and Manuel Garcia; his daughters, Catalina Garcia, Juana Torres, Bertha Palma and Cecilia Garcia. He was a laborer and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Alexander G. McKown, 85, of El Paso died Saturday (Aug. 12, 2000). Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. today in Evergreen East Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Oleta; his sons Guy Rodger McKown and John McKown; his daughter, Deborah G. McKown; one sister; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a bus driver for Greyhound and a lifelong resident of El Paso. Arrangements are by Martin Funeral Home-East. 

Maria Elena Marquez, 66, of El Paso died Tuesday (Aug. 15, 2000). Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Survivors include her daughters, Lizabeth M. Romero and Mireya Ortiz Marquez; one sister; and four grandchildren. She was a teacher in Mexico and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

David Martinez, 57, of El Paso died Saturday (Aug. 12, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-Central with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Cathedral. Burial will be in Evergreen Alameda Cemetery. Survivors include his brothers, Pedro Martinez and Ricardo Martinez; his sisters, Paula Martinez and Margarita M. Rocha; several nieces and nephews. He was a tile setter and was employed by the El Paso Independent School District. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Sara A. Martinez, 88, of El Paso died Monday (Aug. 14, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-West with rosary at 7 p.m. Survivors include her son, Manuel Martinez; her daughter, Sara Enriquez; her sisters, Esperanza Baca and Enriqueta Ayoub Abizaad; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a broker with the Mexican customs agency and a lifelong resident of El Paso. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 909 E. San Antonio, El Paso, TX 79901. 

Erasmo Medrano, 98, of El Paso died Tuesday (Aug. 15, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in El Paso Mission Funeral Home with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Survivors include his daughters, Maria Refugio Ramos, Dora Jesus Medrano de Corona; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a longtime El Paso resident. 

Myra Picerne, infant daughter of Steven and Margaret Dowsett Picerne, died Thursday (Aug. 10, 2000). She is survived by her parents. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home-East. 

Wilma Daisy (Nabours) Ray, 78, of El Paso died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Restlawn Chapel. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Scotsdale Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, E.B.; her son, Larry Ray; her daughter, Judy Wright; one sister; one brother; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a retired secretary from El Paso Natural Gas Co. and a lifelong resident of El Paso. 

Jack O. Jones, 88, of Artesia died Monday (Aug. 14, 2000). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Trudie Dean Mobley; four sons, Truman Jones, Robert Jones, Gordon Jones and Johnnie Jones; four daughters, Eva Murdock, Naomi Goss, Jackie Paxton and Ruby Ware; one brother, Virgil Jones; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Keith DeWitt Wolfe, 50, of Deming died Friday (Aug. 11, 2000). Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mountain View Cemetery. Survivors include his daughter, Bethany Renee Wolfe, and his parents, Constance and Matthew Jackson. He was an Air Force veteran and was an equipment operator for the New Mexico State Highway Department. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapel. 

Louis C. Schaedler, 81, of Las Cruces died Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2000). Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Graciela T. He was retired from the Army and was a longtime resident of Las Cruces. 

Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Colby, 82, of Silver City died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000). Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Survivors include her husband, Bill; two daughters, Peggy Colby Doll and Wendy Beserra; and six grandchildren. She was an assistant librarian at the New Mexico Western College. Donations may be made to the Peggy Colby Memorial Fund, c/o Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Seventh & Texas Streets, Silver City, NM. Funeral arrangements are by Bright Funeral Home. 

Shirley L. Hoagland, 78, of Houston, died Saturday (Aug. 5, 2000). Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Survivors include her son, John Pelton. She was a former resident of Silver City. 

Luther Lee Lewis, 68, of Silver City died Saturday (Aug. 12, 2000). Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis Newman Center. Burial will be in Memory Lane. Survivors include his wife, Molly; eight sons, Leroy Lewis, Billy Ray Lewis, Jay Lewis, Jerry Lewis, Ricky Lewis, Alfred Lewis, Sr., Patrick Lewis and Ronnie Lewis; two daughters Debbie K. Chapin and Denise Jaurequi; two sisters; and 17 grandchildren. He was self-employed by Lou's Produce and was a longtime resident of Silver City. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Ernestina Salas Rios, 77, of Silver City died Monday (Aug. 14, 2000). Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today in Baca's Funeral Chapel with prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will be in Hurley Cemetery. Survivors include her three sons, Reymundo S. Rios, Antonio "Tony" Rios and Lorenzo S. Rios; her daughter, Lydia "Stella" Holguin; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Silver City. 

Orene O'Donnell, 82, of Marathon died Monday (Aug. 14, 2000). A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Marathon Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Billy Ray Green; her sister, Vada Todd, her brother, Marshall Roberts; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John W. O'Donnell. She was a secretary for her husband and a former longtime resident of Alpine. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home, Alpine. 

Bill Boyd of Tucson died Monday (Aug. 14, 2000). Survivors include his wife, Joy; five children, one brother, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a farmer, rancher and businessman. He formerly lived at Palestine and El Paso. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1636 N. Herman Jaime, an employee of the El Paso Independent School District and a decorated Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). He worked for the school district's transportation department for 10 years and was recognized for serving as a role model for students. He was 50 and had been an El Paso resident since 1954. 
Survivors include his wife, Bernice T.; his son, Herman Jaime Jr.; his stepdaughter, Bernadine Muela; his parents, Ismael and Mae Jaime; his brothers, Ismael C. Jaime and George Jaime; and two grandchildren. 
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday in Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home, with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. 

Maria O. Bennett, 79, of El Paso died Sept. 24, 2000. All services have been conducted. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ida Torres, Mary Jacobson, Hortencia Diaz and Maria Ofelia Lial; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodrigo Ortega; and her daughter, Edna Ortega. She was a homemaker and a longtime El Paso resident. Arrangements are by Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. 

Joaquin Castillo, 92, of El Paso died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Martin Funeral Home-Central, with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Evergreen East Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Antonia; his sons, Joaquin Castillo Jr., Leonard Castillo, Jimmy Castillo, Tony Castillo, John Castillo, Frank Castillo, Victor Castillo and Albert Castillo; his daughters, Marie Montoya, Dolores Young, Olga Castillo and Esther Castillo; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a retired auto mechanic and glass cutter, and was a longtime El Paso resident. 

Floriberto Gonzalez, 62, of El Paso died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). Private services will be at a later date. Survivors include his daughter, Rocio Gonzalez; his brothers, Miguel Gonzalez and Enrique Gonzalez; and his sisters, Romelia, Carmen, Gloria and Monica. He was a truck driver and a longtime El Paso resident. Arrangements are by Martin Funeral Home-East. 

Erica Jimenez, infant daughter of Juan Jimenez and Gloria Hernandez, died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today in Evergreen East Cemetery. Arrangements are by San Jose Funeral Home. 

Ignacio Loera Jr., 38, of El Paso died Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000). Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. today in St. Thomas Catholic Church in Chaparral. Burial will follow in Desert View Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Tomasa; his son, Ignacio Loera III; his daughters, Jenny Loera, Veronica Loera, Graciela Loera, Roxanna Loera, Naomi Loera, Corina Loera and Shirley Loera; his mother, Mercedes Loera; and six sisters. He was a roofer and a lifelong El Paso resident. Arrangements are by San Jose Funeral Home. 

Ricardo Hernandez Borunda, 71, of Las Cruces died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday in Baca's Funeral Chapels, with prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Health Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. Survivors include his wife, Corina Sanchez; his sons, Guadalupe "Wally" Borunda, Pat Borunda and Mark Borunda; his daughters, Mary Lou Lewis, Nancy Minjares and Mary Helen Rodriguez; three brothers; three sisters; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Manny Monares. He was a self-employed butcher and landscaper, former owner and operator of Borunda's Flea Market and a lifelong Las Cruces resident. 

Barbara A. Davis, 71, of Las Cruces, formerly of Carlsbad, died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday in Baca's Funeral Chapels. A prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, where the Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be in St. Albert the Great Columbarium. Survivors include her husband, Delmer Davis; her sons, Jerry W. Davis, Richard S. Davis and Steven R. Davis; and her daughters, Jackie Mort, Laurie Davis and Karen A. Medina; one brother; two sisters; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Davis; and her sister, Mary Hughes. She was a teacher at Valley View Elementary School and a Las Cruces resident since 1968. 

Daniel "D.C." Carol Price, 72, of Roswell, formerly of Lubbock died Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000). All services have been conducted. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 23 years of service, and was the owner of Shadow Ridge RV Park in Ruidoso. Virgal C. Black, 82, of Buckhorn, N.M., died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000). Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Gila/Cliff Mesa Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Roxie F. Hayes; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a retired crusher operator for Phelps Dodge Corp. in Tyrone, N.M., and a longtime area resident. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City. 

Maria "Nena" Falliner Solano, 54, of Lafayette, La., formerly of Juárez died Friday (Sept. 29, 2000). Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, and from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, Juan; her son, Albert Sven Solano; her daughter, Cindy Solano Leger; her father, Alejandro Falliner; one brother; three sisters; and one granddaughter. She was a homemaker and a longtime Lafayette resident. Joseph "Joe" C. Pelletier, a postal worker and Marine Corps veteran of three wars, died Thursday (Nov. 30, 2000). He was in the service for 23 years and served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was 72 and a longtime El Pasoan. 
Survivors include his sons, Joseph F. Pelletier and Patrick S. Pelletier; his daughters, Maureen Fuentes, Rosanne Allen, Charmaine McQuade and Kelly Pelletier; two brothers; three sisters; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence "Tish" Pelletier. 
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday in Martin Funeral Home-Resler, with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Raphael Parish. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. 

Pok Sim Choe, 69, of El Paso died Friday (Nov. 17, 2000). Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Soka Gakkai International-USA. She is survived by her daughter, Chong Lawson; and two grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a longtime El Pasoan. Arrangements are by Mount Franklin Funeral Home. 

Maria Montalvo, 90, of El Paso died Friday (Dec. 1, 2000). Memorial service will be at 9 a.m. today in St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. She is survived by her nephew, Pablo Montalvo. She was a seamstress for a fabric company and had lived in El Paso 62 years. Arrangements are by La Paz Funeral Home. 

William C. Presley, 70, of El Paso died Tuesday (Nov. 28, 2000). The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Katsuko; his sons, Robert Clifford Presley; John Charles Presley and David Allen Presley; his daughters, Melinda May Morrill, Tina Marie Hall and Janeen Marie Cables; two sisters; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a retired Army sergeant first class and a lifelong El Pasoan. Arrangements are by Mount Franklin Funeral Home. 

Luz Mier Sanchez, 83, of El Paso died Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2000). Ruth Fenn, 100, of Artesia, N.M., died Thursday (Nov. 30, 2000). Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday in Terpening & Son Mortuary. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Seminole Cemetery at Seminole, Texas. Survivors include her son, Herbert Fenn; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert K. Fenn. She was a homemaker and was a longtime Artesia resident. 

Bernabe "Bill" Urias, 80, of Artesia, N.M., died Thursday (Nov. 30, 2000). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today and at 1 p.m. Sunday in Terpening & Son Mortuary. Prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in Spanish Assembly of God Church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Survivors include his sons, Manuel Urias, Mario Urias and Rey Michael Urias-Strawbridge; one daughter, Maria Louisa Orosco; one brother; one sister; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a farm laborer, a World War II Army veteran and a longtime Artesia resident. 

Verlie E. Norfray, 92, of Carlsbad, formerly of California, died Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2000). Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Landsun Homes Inc. Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Harris and Beverly Tremmel; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Joseph Doyle, and her second husband, Walter L. Norfray. She was a retired music teacher and longtime area resident. Sharron Gale Gray, 57, of Las Cruces and formerly of Deming died Tuesday (Nov. 28, 2000). Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at a later date. Survivors include her sons, Edward Lee Gray, Johnny Mayfield and James Ray Gray; her mother, Jean Gaylon; and two brothers. She lived in Deming for five years. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels. 

Michael Earl Morrison, 52, of Las Cruces died Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2000). Cremation will take place. No other services are planned. He is survived by his brother, Gary Morrison, and his sister, Jeanne Barnes. He was in the Merchant Marine, was a substitute teacher for the Las Cruces Public Schools and was a longtime area resident. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels. 

Dorothy Lucille Roush, 77, of Las Cruces died Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2000). Cremation will take place. No other services are planned. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Wolfe; one brother; one grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Roush. She was a retired nursing assistant and a longtime area resident. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels. 

Jose V. Torres, 74, of Salem, N.M., died Thursday (Nov. 30, 2000). Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, with prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch. Survivors include his sons, Gilbert Torres, Larry Torres, Edward "Lalo" Torres and Andy Torres; his daughters, Alice Tarin and Annie Tarin; three brothers; three sisters; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia G. He retired from White Sands Missile Range as a motor pool driver, was a World War II Army veteran and was a longtime area resident. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels. 

Enrique "Hank" P. Gomez Jr., 33, of Silver City died Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2000). Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Glad Tidings Church, where the funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Santa Clara Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Melody M.; his son, Enrique P. Gomez III; his daughter, Cheyenne Gomez; his father, Enrique P. Gomez Sr.; his mother, Angela Padilla; four brothers; and five sisters. He was an Army veteran and a lifelong resident of Silver City. Arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels.
