CARLSBAD, N.M. -- Bobby Bailey, 16, of Carlsbad, N.M., a sophomore at Carlsbad High School, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at University Hospital in Lubbock from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God with the Revs. John Burke, Fred Connell and James McCormick officiating. Burial will be at Carlsbad Cemetery. Arrangements by Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.
He was born in Carlsbad, N.M., and moved to Flagstaff, Ariz., before returning to Carlsbad in 1991. He was a member of Grace Outreach Church.
Survivors: Parents, Rick and Juanita Bailey of Carlsbad, N.M.; brothers, Justin Bailey, Ricky Bailey and James Bailey of Carlsbad; maternal grandparents, Jesse and Louise Greene of Carlsbad; paternal grandmother, Agnes Bailey of Carlsbad; and aunt, Phyllis Walker of Odessa.

Yosente Quintela
FORT STOCKTON -- Yosente C. "Chente" Quintela, 88, of Fort Stockton, a laborer, died Friday, March 27, 1998.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Terlingua and was Catholic.
Survivors: Daughters, Victoria Terrazas of Fort Stockton and Enriqueta Quintela of Fort Stockton; brother, Julio Quintela Sr. of Fort Stockton; and several neices and nephews.

Marcelina Montez
ODESSA -- Marcelina Montez, 71, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at her residence.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at 612 Crane Street in Odessa. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Pueblito Vado De Piedra, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Survivors: Daughters, Rosario Garza of Odessa, Irma Garcia, Gloria Alvarez, Irina Juarez, Alma Tercero, and Cristina Montez, all of Odessa and Marcela Gonzalez of Arizona; sons, Porfirio Garza of Dallas, Roy Garza of El Paso, Victor Garza of Dallas, Jose Alfredo Gonzalez of Brownfield, Manuel Montez of Odessa, Lupe Montez of Odessa; brother, Manuel G. Garcia of Pecos; sister, Gabriela Franco of Odessa; 39 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

MARFA -- Maria S. McGuire, 74, a native of Marfa, died Saturday, March 28, 1998 in Wickett.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Demetrio Ponce officiating. Burial will follow in Merced Cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Marfa, where she lived until three months ago when she moved to Wickett. She was Catholic.
Survivors: Daughter, Rose England of Odessa; sons, Abel McGuire, Jr. of Wickett and Antonio McGuire of Midland; sister, Carmen Wren of Oklahoma; brother, Adalberto Sanchez of Odessa; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

John Miller
EASTLAND -- John F. Miller, 57, of LaGrange, died Sunday, March 29, 1998 at a hospital in Waco.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Eastland Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Blackshear officiating. Arrangements by Brookview Funeral Home.
He was born in Olney, Ill., and served in the U.S. Navy. He was Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Joyce Miller of Waco; mother, Pauline Miller of Midland; daughters, Christi Foote of Odessa and Toni Sawyers of Odessa; sons Allen Miller of Odessa and Scott Miller of LaGrange; sisters, Sue Pittman and Betty Newsom, both of Midland; six grandsons.

Hazel Bishop
MIDLAND -- Hazel Bishop, 80, of Midland, died Sunday, March 29, 1998 at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Worth and moved to Odessa from Sweetwater in 1937. She moved to Midland in 1974. She was employed with a local magazine and was a past member of the National Women's Press Association.
Survivors: Son, Joe T. Bishop of Midland; grandson, Jansen Bishop of Coppell; sister, Ethel Richardson of Midland.

Z. S. McCracken
ODESSA -- Z. S. "Ace" McCracken, 90, of Odessa, died Sunday, March 29, 1998 at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Otterness officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Moro and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He moved to Odessa in 1953. He was a tank builder for Black, Sivalls and Bryson for 16 years and a member of Grace Fellowship in Monahans.
Survivors: Wife, Betty (Bea) McCracken of Odessa; son, James A. McCracken of Odessa; daughter, Kathy Giandalia of Odessa; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Clarence Lester
ANDREWS -- Clarence T. Lester, 78, of Andrews, died Friday, March 27, 1998 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Andrews West Cemetery with Bob DuPont officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
He was born in Joplin, Mo., and served during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. He moved to Andrews in 1977 from Joplin. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors: Sons, Don and Ron Lester of Joplin, Mo.; step-son, Don Short of Middleton, Maryland.

Edna Shaw
ODESSA -- Edna Shaw, 91, of Odessa, died Saturday, March 28, 1998 at her residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jim Hawk officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Mississippi and lived in New York City, Houston and Cisco before moving to Odessa. She was Methodist.
Survivors: Husband, Sidney Shaw of Odessa; brothers-in-law, Wilson Shaw of Athens, Bill Shaw of Stillwater, Okla., and Wayne Shaw of San Antonio.

Maritza Carrillo
ODESSA -- Maritza Jasmine Carrillo, infant daughter of Norma J. Carrillo and Gerardo Carrillo, of Lubbock, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Highland Hospital in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Babyland Cemetery in Odessa with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
She was born in Lubbock.
Survivors: Parents; and grandparents, Baldemar Jaquez, Amelia Jaquez, Leobardo Carrillo and Gloria Carrillo, all of Odessa.

Dorothy Cowdrey
POST -- Dorothy Inez Cowdrey, 90, of Garza County, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Post Church of Christ with David Joyner and Homer Jones-Wallman officiating. Burial will be at Terrace Cemetery. Arrangements by Hudman Funeral Home.
She was born in Montague County.
Survivors: Daughter, Jo Ella Sparlin of Post; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

PECOS -- Joe M. Hagar, 83, of Pecos, a retired grocery store manager, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his residence.

He was born in Royce City. He was Baptist.

Viola Hartsell
SEGUIN -- Viola Hartsell, 91, of Fort Stockton, a retired manager of Abstract Co., died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at Fort Stockton Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Dean officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home and Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin.
He was born in Seguin and moved to Fort Stockton in 1927.

MIDLAND -- Jorge Lopez, 38, of Midland, an employee of Sheppard Roofing Company, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

He was born in Weslaco. He was a Baptist.

JONESBORO, Ga. -- Bessie ``Betty'' Watkins, 90, of Monahans, a retired anesthetists registered nurse, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tara Gardens Chapel. Burial will be at Crestland Memorial Park in Atlanta, Ga. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home and Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ga.
She was born Caryville, Tenn., and moved to Monahans in 1997 from Jonesboro, Ga. She was Baptist.
Survivors: Daughter, Laura Spearman of Monahans.

Eugene Wilkinson
BURKBURNETT -- Eugene Wilkinson, 73, of Burkburnett, a farmer, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at a nursing home in Burkburnett.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Jan Lee Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Smithee officiating. Burial will be at Randlett Cemetery in Randlett, Okla. Arrangements by Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
He was born in Randlett, Okla., and had lived in Burkbunett since 1956.
Survivors: Mother, Nomie Wilkinson of Burkburnett; and sisters, Iva Jo Ille of Burkburnett and Earline Holder of Odessa.

George Anna Clark
LUBBOCK -- George Anna Wynne Clark, 78, of Wolfforth, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at University Medical Center.
Services were held March 31 at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Kingsley officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.
She was born in Glen Rose and moved to the Lubbock area in 1928. She was Protestant.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Anna Lou Ream of Odessa; Ida Bramhall of Lubbock, Georgetta of Wolfforth; brother, Mart Spencer of Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

ALPINE -- Abel Alvarado Hinojos, 81, of Alpine, a retired maintenance person for the City of Alpine, died Monday, March 30, 1998, at an Odessa hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Peace with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Lajitas.

She was born in Sanderson and had been a resident of Fort Stockton since 1974 after moving from Sanderson. She a was a member of the Jehovah's Witness of Fort Stockton Kingdom Hall. SURVIVORS: Husband, Juan Rivera of Fort Stockton; son, Johnny Rivera of Fort Stockton; daughters, Virginia Urias and Melba Ortiz, both of Fort Stockton, Rosie Knopps of Fond du Lac, Wis.; brothers, Wally Gamboa, Fred Gamboa and James Gamboa, all of Hereford; sisters, Laticia Berella of New Braunfels, Alica Garza and Yolanda Garza, both of Bossier City, La., Beatrice Tijerina of Dallas; and nine grandchildren.

She was born in Burkburnett and moved to Crane in 1949. She was a Catholic.
