JAL, N.M. _ Joe Brownie Baum, 88, a retired lease foreman with Conoco, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST today at the First Baptist Church in Jal, N.M., with the Rev. G.A. Magee officiating. Burial will be at the Jal Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
He was born in Cross Plains and had been a resident of Jal, N.M. for 56 years. He was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, David C. Baum of Odessa; daughter, Vicki Gwynne of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

Sybil Hutton
KERMIT _ Sybil H. Hutton, 80, a retired licensed vocational nurse, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Kermit with the Revs. Gary Seelau and Milton Chester officiating. Burial will be at the Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Chicago and was a resident of Wink for 20 years. She was a Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Clifford Earl Hutton of Denver; brother, Leslie Clyde Nash of League City; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Walter Kinney
SWEETWATER _ Walter Lewis ``Pete'' Kinney, 73, a former material supervisor for Enron Oil and Gas Co., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, in San Angelo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with Larry Fluitt and Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will be at Pyton Cemetery. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.
He was born in Comancho, Okla., and was a resident of Sweetwater. He was a member of the Church of Christ and an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Twila Kinney of Sweetwater; son, Milton Kinney of Odessa; daughter, Judy Powers of Dallas; stepson, Darvin Hunter of Dallas; brothers, Bobby Kinney of Odessa and Al Kinney of San Angelo; sisters, Lillie Lofton and Thelma Martindale, both of Sweetwater; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Horace Miller
RIO VISTA _ Horace H. Miller, 89, a retired oil-field contractor, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Columbia Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Rio Vista with the Rev. Paul Pinyan officiating. Burial will be at Derden Cemetery in Hill County. Arrangements by Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home.
He was born in Wayland and was a resident of Goldsmith from 1949 to 1970 and then Rio Vista. He was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Bernice Miller of Rio Vista; son, Lowell R. Miller of Springfield, Mo.; Harvy Miller of Granbury and Jimmie W. Miller of Palestine; daughter, Peggy A. Smith of Garland; brother, C.L. Miller of Moran and Harold Miller of Hamlin; sisters, Willie Mae Henry of McKinleyville, Calif., Grace Isabell of Midland and Pauline Hart of San Angelo; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

RANKIN _ Nell Franklin Rankin, 71, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, in Rankin.

She was born in Goldsboro and was a resident of Rankin. She was a Baptist.

PECOS _ George T. Smith, 77, a retired construction worker, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. James Sain officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Cottage Grove, Ore., and had been a resident of Pecos since 1944. He was a member of First Christian Church.
SURVIVORS: Son, Grady Smith of Pecos; daughter, Donna Sampson of Granbury; brother, Gavin Smith of Grants Pass, Ore.; sister, Evelyn Wunfch of Grants Pass, Ore.; seven granchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Richard Turner
ODESSA _ Richard C. Turner, 64, a rancher and owner of Arc Pressure Data, of Odessa, died Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Albuequerque, N.M.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Crescent Park Baptist Church with the Revs. John Dickerson, Craig Turner, Barry Owens and Gavin Vaughan officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roselaw Memorial Park in Denton.

SEMINOLE _ George J. Garrett, 83, of Seminole, a retired employee of Marathon Oil & Gas, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Gaines County Cemetery with the Rev. Rayford Bates officiating. Arrangements by Ratliff Funeral Homes.
He was born in Dennison. He was a veteran of the Navy, having served in the South Pacific during World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Nelda Garrett of Seminole; daughter, Donna Jacobsen of Wink; and four grandchildren.

Brittany Pacheco
ODESSA _ Brittany Nicole Pacheco, infant daughter of Marcus and Shelly Pacheco of Odessa, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

She was born in Odessa.

Zella Parsons
ODESSA _ Zella Parsons, 95, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Deerings Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Madison County, Ark., and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Evah Adams
KERMIT _ Evah Frances Adams, 93, of Wink, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Kermit Nursing Center.
Graveside services were Dec. 5, 1997, with the Rev. Gene Brown offciating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Erath. She was a resident of Kermit for 41 years.
SURVIVORS: Husband, W.M. Adams of Wink; daughters, Hazel Horseman of Wink and Norma Hallmark of Yuma, Ariz.; sisters, Ollie Newman of Leesburg and Wynama Price of Arlington; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cliff Eubank
ANDREWS _ Cliff Eubank, 63, of Andrews, a truck driver, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Permian General Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McKinney Acres Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Dozier and Ted Short officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North Cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Cisco, and moved to Andrews in 1977 from Fort Stockton. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Betty Eubank of Andrews; daughters, Deborah Love of Abilene, Charlene Bolch of Andrews, Judy Kaye Farrow of Denver and Susan Keith of Ponca City, Okla.; brother, Larry Eubank at Abilene; 12 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.

Charles Mackey
LUBBOCK _ Charles E. Mackey, 58, of Lubbock, a construction worker, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

He was born in Taylor and was Baptist.

Higinio Salinas
KERMIT _ Higinio Salinas Sr., 85, of Kermit, a farm worker, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. John Tellez officiating. Rosary was said Friday at 504 S. Ave. C. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Monahans Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Redford and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Higinio Salinas Jr. and Arturo Salinas, both of Kermit; stepsons, Jesus Juarez and Jose Juarez, both of Monahans; daughter, Juanita Rodriguez of Kermit; stepdaughter, Esperanza Valdez of Monahansd; 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Clarence Mount
PECOS _ Clarence Mount, 95, of Pecos, a retired plumber, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Odessa Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
He was a native of Big Spring and a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Pecos Fire Department for 45 years, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Tommy Mount of Midland and Robert Eral of Round Rock; and five grandchildren.

Lottie Bowman
MONAHANS _ Lottie Bowman, 70, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Monahans with the Rev. Barry Klempnauer officiating. Burial will be in Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

Wavis Martin
ODESSA _ Wavis C. Martin, 84, of Odessa, a retired sales clerk, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 29, 1913, in Christoval.

SEMINOLE _ Abe Funk, infant son of Abram and Margarite Funk of Seminole, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.

Thurman L. Atchley
ODESSA _ Thurman L. Atchley, 63, of Odessa, a former Navy aviator, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Tanglewood Church of Christ, with the Rev. Jerry Laughery officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Dudley.
Atchley came to Odessa from Abilene in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot in Vietnam.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Janell Atchley of Odessa; sons, Charles Atchley of Cold Spring and Mike Atchley of Shawnee, Okla.; daughters, Karen Sanchez of Midland and Cynthia Matlock of Amarillo; sister, Etta Pearl Atchley of Southern Pines, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Jimmy Esquivel
CRANE _ Jimmy R. Esquivel, 55, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997.

He was born July 23, 1942, in Sanderson and he was a Catholic.

He was born July 26, 1945, in Sierra Blanca.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church.

JAL, N.M. _ Merle Shaffer, 80, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at his residence in Jal, N.M.

He was a Jal resident for 37 years.

He was born Nov. 28, 1907, in Pattonville. He had moved to Odessa in 1952 and was a Methodist.
