Charter member of Morrison Hill Christian Church and a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 405 Kingston. A former resident of Chattanooga and a retired beautician. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. (Bob) Bearden. Survivor, brother, Claude A. Parker, Sr., Daytona Beach, Fla. BREEDEN, CLYDE ''JUNIOR'' - age 72, of 751 Hart Rd., Dandridge, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, December 3, 1997. He was a member of the Grants Chapel United Methodist Church, veteran of the U.S. Navy and World War II and was a retired employee of American Enka following 30 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Harvey and Lula Templin Breeden; brother, Ray Breeden. Survivors: wife, Mary Sue Goforth Breeden; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Danny Breeden; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Betty Breeden, all of Dandridge; son, Don Breeden of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Kevin and Kendra Breeden; sisters, Eula Patterson and Imogene Chambers, both of Dandridge; brother, Turner Breeden of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. DYCH, WILLIAM F. - age 87, of Gatlinburg, died Wednesday, December 3, 1997, at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Josephine Dych; brothers, George, Walter, and Robert Dych; granddaughter, Susan Floyd. He was a member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church. He was past superintendent of the Church of God Home for Children, and the owner of the Chimney House Restaurant. As a civic leader, he served as president of the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce, Blue Ridge Parkway Association, the Lions Club, the Retired Citizens of Gatlinburg, and a member of the Elks, Mountain Star Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners, and the Gatlinburg Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors: daughters, Wilma Floyd and husband, Carl of Farragut, Lois White of Minnesota, Vivian Maples of Gatlinburg; brothers, Arthur Dych of New Jersey, David Dych of Gatlinburg; grandchildren, Ken White, Donna White, Paula M. HEATHERLY, APPIE (BUTCHER) - age 84, of Knoxville, and formerly of Lake City, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, December 2, 1997, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Retired from food services profession. She was best known as the ''Paper Lady,'' delivering newspapers through St. Mary's Hospital during the 1970-80's. Member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husbands, Charlie Vowell and Hubert Heatherly; five brothers and sisters. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Linda Heatherly; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca (Donna) and Bob Thieman, Gamaliel, Ark.; sister, Annalee Atwood, Harveyville, Kansas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; many special friends. HEATON, LOYDE CLAY - age 71, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 2, 1997, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Attended Third Street Baptist Church. Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. Mr. Heaton was a meat-cutter who had worked for many grocery stores in the Blount Co. area. Preceded in death by wife, Johnnie Heaton; son, Charles David Heaton; parents, Lee and Lula Heaton; several brothers and sisters. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Heaton and Larry Bean of Atlanta, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Kathy R. Survivors: daughters, Sue Hatfield, Shirley Welch; grandchildren, Lisa Faulkner, Gina Houk, Keith Welch; great-grandchildren, Troy and Kellan; former wife, Beuna L. MORGAN, WILLIAM (BILL) - age 85, resident of Etowah Health Care, formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 1997, at Woods Memorial Hospital. Member of New Providence Baptist Church. MORRIS, WILLIAM V. (BILL) - age 53, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday evening at NHC Healthcare Center, Ft. Sanders. He was a member of the Christian faith. Employed by Fox 43 as the business manager. Member of the Jaycee's where he received numerous awards. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Mark Stahl, West River, Md., Eileen Morris, Knoxville; son, Van Morris, Severna Park, Md.; two grandsons; sister, Rose Williams; and brother, Robert Morris, both of Dalton, Ga. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Rev. Brad Getz officiating. Following the service the body will be moved to Lankford Funeral Home in Deland, Fla. STEPHENS, THOMAS VIRGIL (BUSTER) - age 74, of Ten Mile, died Wednesday, December 3, 1997. A Presbyterian, he was a member of Woodword Lodge 737 F.& A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, University of Tennessee Club, Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity at U.T. He was retired from L & N and CSX railroad with 43 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. and Etta Mae Stephens. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Martha Poe Stephens; son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Julie Stephens of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Charles Jeffers of Knoxville; grandson, Rick Jones of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; granddaughters, Amanda Jeffers of Knoxville, Samantha and Magan Stephens of Athens; sisters, Barbara McDonald of Etowah, Evelyn Lingo of Ft. SULLIVAN, HARRY CALLAHAN - age 83, of Hillcrest West, passed away 4 p.m. Monday, December 1, 1997, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was born in Copperhill, Tenn. and was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5207 and a veteran of WWII. Survived by wife, Marion Bye Sullivan; daughter, Carole Sullivan of Seattle, Washington; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Turner of Clinton; son, Michael W. Sullivan of Knoxville; granddaughter, Laura N. Turner of Clinton; nephew and wife, Jerry and Irene Sullivan of Oak Ridge. TALLENT, ERNEST ''GENE'' - age 81, of Maryville, formerly of Madisonville, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 1997, at home away from home. He was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Madisonville. Preceded in death by his parents, Lum and Bessie Tallent; sister, Osie Isbill; brothers, Kenneth and M.L. Tallent. TODD, CLEO CLARK - of Sweetwater, passed away on Monday, December 1, 1997, at Sweetwater Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gib Todd; son, Don Todd; parents; and sister, Jessie Schrimpsher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater for approximately 65 years. Survivors: daughter, Barbara Murphy of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Mitzi Murphy of Krum, Texas, Penny Ogelvie of Franklin, Aby Slagle of Nashville; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Galyon, Pauline Cantrell, all of Sweetwater, Celesta Shubert of Loudon; brother, Boyd Clark; several nieces and nephews. WATERHOUSE, BERTA WHITE - age 100, formerly of West Hills, died Tuesday, December 2, 1997, at Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City. She was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church, former member of the National League of American Pen Women, a pianist and composer. Mrs. Waterhouse was the widow of Dr. Richard Green Waterhouse, Sr. and was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Green (Dick) Waterhouse, Jr. Her survivors include, daughter and son-in-law, Berta and Charles Karns Swan, Jr. of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Waterhouse of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Charles K. Swan, III, Laura Swan Marshall and her husband, Jack, Richard H. Swan and his wife, Klair Kimmey Swan, Rikky Waterhouse Collier and her husband, Lee, Kimberlee Waterhouse, Richard G. Waterhouse, III and Tracy Waterhouse Barton; great-grandchildren, Richard G. Waterhouse, IV and Ashlyn F. Waterhouse. WILSON, JIM ED - age 56, of Maynardville, Tenn. was born August 10, 1941, passed away on December 2, 1997. He was preceded in death by his father, Edd S. Wilson. He was a member of Milan Baptist Church, Vietnam Veteran, received a Bronze Star, Specialist Four for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations against Hostile Forces in Republic of Vietnam. Served during World War II and retired from Reeder Chevrolet as truck manager. He is survived by wife, Edna F. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Ford, Therman and Jenny Lou Ford, Everett and Lona Ford, Howard and Joyce Ford, Robert and Linda Ford; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and J.R.
