BRIDGES, MARY RUTH NAUMAN - our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister joined the angels in heaven on Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Mrs. Bridges, who was 74, was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charlie Clayton Bridges. She was an avid gardener, exceptional cook, seamstress, and devoted family guardian. She was a war bride who fabricated airplane carbeurators at Warner-Robins in Macon, Ga. while her husband served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Mrs. Bridges was a Presbyterian, and a member of the Beaver Ridge Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Bridges leaves three children, Lana Jo McElhaney of Farragut, Tenn., B. Gen. Gary Bridges of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and Darrell Bridges of McDonald, Tenn.; her five grandchildren, Martha Rogers, Kathy Hochwalt, Capt. Clay Bridges, Allison Bridges, and Sara Bridges; her four great-grandchildren, Dylan Rogers, Nicole Hochwalt, Clayton Gary Bridges II, and Aliena Bridges, her chihuaua, Misty; and her calico, Molly. Preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Volena Nauman; brothers, Herman, Junior, and D.M. Nauman, and sister Mildred Bailey, Mrs. Bridges leaves three brothers: Herbert, Carson, and Henry Nauman. The officiating minister will be Rev. Judson Shaw of Farragut Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at Mynatt Funeral Home with services at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at Mynatt's Chapel. Interment will be at Solway Memorial Methodist Cemetery. 

CECIL, REV. MILFORD E. - age 54, of Helenwood, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Born in Scott County, Tenn., March 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Rev. Virgil Cecil and Gracie Goad Cecil. He was a member of Helenwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet Clark Cecil; son, Dwayne E. Cecil and wife Dorothy of Harriman; two daughters, Jenny and Pam Cecil of Helenwood, Tenn.; honorary daughter, Angie Jeffers of Straight Fork, Tenn.; three brothers, Wendell Cecil and wife Joyce, Roger Cecil and wife Linda, all of Helenwood, Tenn., and Vaughn Cecil and wife Debbie of Crossville. He also leaves many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at Helenwood Baptist Church with the Reverends Roger Cecil and Jim West officiating. Mr. Cecil will lie in state at the church from 1 until time of services at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Daniel Memorial Cemetery in Helenwood. DYER, TROY L. - age 61, of Friendsville, passed away Wednesday morning, June 11, 1997, at the family home. He was an investigator for the Blount County Humane Society for nearly ten years. He was a member of the Townsend Saddle Club. He was an avid horse lover who worked with horses most of his life. Preceded in death by parents, John and Viola Dyer; brothers, Woodrow Dyer, Paul J. Dyer. GREEN, GEORGIA JONES - born January 3, 1907, died June 11, 1997. Born and raised in Radford, Virginia. She graduated from Radford Normal School and the University of Tennessee. She moved to Oak Ridge in 1945 and lived in Oak Ridge and vicinity for the rest of her life. She taught at South Clinton Elementary School from 1950 until 1972 when she retired. She was married to James Frederick Green and was widowed in 1981. She is survived by three daughters, Sarah Williams (Sarah Belle), Betty Gardner (Betty Ann), and Julie Miller (Judy Alice); and by numerous grand and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Boone, N.C., at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the favorite charity of the donor. 

HAUN, MARGARET E. (GENCIE) - age 39, of Ball Camp Community, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 1997, at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and an employee of Walgreen's Drugs, Cedar Bluff. Preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy and Elizabeth Haun and Mr. and Mrs. James H. and Iva Nipper. Survivors: sons, David Leland Hoffmeister, John Allan Hoffmeister, both of Powell; daughter, Cathy King, Corryton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. HOUGHTON, MR. FRANCIS M., JR. - age 87, of Cook Springs, Ala., passed away June 11, 1997. He was a past member of Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville. MINER, MARY AMY EMMERT - age 100, of 122 McKinney Avenue, Rogersville, passed away Thursday, June 12, 1997, at Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home. Mrs. Miner was the daughter of the late James J. Emmert and Matilda Isenberg Emmert. She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Rogersville and she attended the Rogersville Synodical College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Walker Miner. She is survived by three daughters, Ruth M. Miner of Rogersville, Evelyn M. Willis of High Point, N.C., and Betty M. Donihe of Rogersville; two sons, James Edward Miner of Oak Ridge and Clay Miner of North Augusta, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. MITCHELL, JAMES ROBERT - age 90, of Jefferson City, passed away 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was of the Baptist faith. Veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. Member of American Legion Post #113. Retired printer from the Knoxville News Sentinel with 30 years of service. Preceded in death by wife, Douglas Juanita Hickman Mitchell; and stepson, Jackie Myers. PERRYMAN, WAYNE ELLIOT - 69, of Clinton, died Thursday at Methodist Medical Center. Born February 24, 1928, in Sevier County, Tennessee. Retired from Martin Marietta Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge as a heavy equipment operator. He was a charter member and deacon of Antioch Baptist Church, Clinton, Tenn. Member of Operating Engineers Local Union #917, A.B.C.&R. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julie Ann Perryman; first wife, Pauline Perryman; sisters, Rhonda Terry and Ruth Breeden. She was past church clerk and past president of Baptist Women's Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by husband, George W. VITAL, MARGARET - age 81, of North Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a member of Knoxville First Seventh Day Adventist Church.
