Mary Baubach

Mary Alice Baubach died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at her home in McDonald, Tenn. She was 61.

The Chattanooga native was a registered nurse for over 30 years. She was supervisor of Human Resources at Hamilton County Nursing Home and a member of Mount Olive Church of
God in Cleveland, Tenn.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan Baubach Jr.; son, Brent Baubach, Chattanooga; daughter, Cindy Baubach, Gastonia, N.C.; sister, Dorothy Green, Chattanooga; one grandchild;
nieces; and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Gary Sears and the Rev. Mike Chapman officiating.

Ruth Broadwater

Ruth Broadwater died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in a local health care facility. She was 82.

She was a 1936 graduate of Central High School.

She was the widow of James L. Broadwater.

Survivors include a nephew, two nieces and several cousins.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Mel Crosson officiating.

Arrangements were handled by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Ryan Considine

Ryan Jacob Considine, infant son of Brian and Leah Considine of Ooltewah, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in a local hospital.

There will be no service at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Lonnie Dickerson

Lonnie Dickerson Sr. died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in a local hosptial. He was 86.

He was born in Coffee County, Tenn., and had lived in Chattanooga since 1947.

He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church where he served as deacon, church treasurer and Sunday school director. He was a retired iron worker and a member of Local 704.

Survivors include his wife, Cora Dickerson; three sons, Robert and Darrell Dickerson, both of Chattanooga, and Lonnie Dickerson Jr., Flintstone, Ga.; sister, Mary Sue Lynn, East
Brainerd; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. and after noon Thursday at the funeral home.

Walter Featherstone

Walter Lee "Spookie" Featherstone died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 50.

He was a graduate of Riverside High School and was employed by Commercial Metal Co.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Featherstone; mother, Geneva Featherstone; and a sister, Doka Brown.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby Hampton officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home.

John Grant Frazier of Hixson died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at his residence. He was 44.

A memorial service will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Elizabeth W. Gates died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, in an area health care facility.

Dorthanell Gustafson

Dorthanell Linthicum Gustafson died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in a local hospital. She 83.

She was a native of Mansfield, Ill., attended Illinois University and taught country grade school there.

She had resided in Chattanooga for the past 52 years and was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kendol Gustafson; daughter, Sue Ann Wright, Cohutta, Ga.; two sons, Richard Gustafson, Rossville, Ga., and David Gustafson, Hixson; five
grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ali Jabbari

Ali Jabbari died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 78.

The Iran native had lived in Chattanooga for the past 18 years. He studied law at the University of Tehran and in Paris. He practiced for 40 years and concurrently acted as a farmer,
industrialist and a bank director.

Survivors include his wife, Paridokht Radpour Jabbari; two sons, Kamyar Jabbari, Chicago, and Faryar Jabbari, Irvine, Calif.; daughter, Golnar Fozi, Encinitas, Calif.; three grandchildren;
two brothers; and a sister.

Burial services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Emma Natte Kennedy died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at her home. She was 84.

Marie G. Lewis of Soddy-Daisy died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at a local hospital. She was 86.

She was a member of Mowbray Church of God and retired from Hamilton County Nursing Home after several years of service as a nurses aide.

Survivors include four sons, Ralph, James "Herman," Donnie and Ronnie Lewis, all of Soddy-Daisy; six daughters, Gladys Nelson, Rosa Lou Frizzell, Satira Oliver, Lillie Mae Lasley and
Laura Sisco, all of Soddy-Daisy, and Judy Harvey, Dunlap, Tenn.; one sister, Margaret Phillips, Selma, Calif.; 37 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Otis Bean officiating.

Burial will be in Granny Walker Cemetery.

Thelma M. Morris of East Brainerd died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at her home. She was 90.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Owen Morris.

Survivors include her two sons, Joe Morris and Jerold Morris; five daughters, Ann Harrison, Sharon Morris and Sara Swearingen, all of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.

Rose Hendricks Paris died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 72.

She was a member of Orchard Knob Baptist Church and was retired from her teaching positon from the Chattanooga Public Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Paris Sr.; and a sister, Frances Derrick.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with pastor Harold K. Lester officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Anna Marie Reed of Signal Mountain died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000. She was 29.

CLEVELAND -- Bertha Miriam "Bea" Anstey died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in an area nursing home. She was 86.

She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Anstey; and two sisters, Ruth Tulk and Margaret George.

Survivors include two daughters, Anne Anstey Hale, Cleveland, and Elizabeth Anstey Duncan, West Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

SPRING CITY -- Evie Seale Little died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in a Spring City care center. She was 93.

She moved to Rhea County from Jackson, Miss., where she was a member of the Daniel Memorial Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Purser Eugene Little.

Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Frazier, Spring City; Evelyn Harmount, Jackson, Tenn., Joe Ann Overton, Houston, Texas, and Geanie Smith, Hendersonville, Tenn.; 10
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson.

ROCK SPRING -- Velma Loraine Johnson Woodruff died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at her home. She was 70.

She received a bachelor's degree in science and music education from Union College in Lincoln, Neb. She was a charter member and former treasurer of the Center Grove Seventh-day
Adventist Church, and was the former chairman of the board of Alice M. Daley Adventist School in Center Grove. She retired from the Collegedale Academy where she taught music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Elwyn Woodruff; and a son, Gilbert Dale Woodruff.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Sue Woodruff Hayes, Greeneville, Tenn.; two sons, Dr. Roger Woodruff, Spokane, Wash., and Douglas Woodruff, Esq., LaFayette; one sister, Ruth
Ellis, Lincoln, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Burial will be in Bacon Cemetery in Bourbon, Mo.

RINGGOLD, Ga. -- Margaret Geneva Wooten, a member of the Tennessee State Bowling Hall of Fame, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at her home. She was 76.

She was of the Church of God faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Odell Daniels; and a son, Gary Leonard Daniels.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert L. Daniels, Lake Wales, Fla., and Guy E. Daniels, Henagar; two daughters, Reba Jean Muse, Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Kitty Gustafson, West Palm
Beach, Fla.; sister, Flossie Harris, Holgate, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be Friday in Lake Worth, Fla.

He was a retired meteorologist for the NOAA and a veteran of World War II.
