Marie Coffel of Ooltewah died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at her home. She was 58.

James Crumley
James Boyd Crumley died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at his home. He was 59.
There will be a celebration of life and a memorial service Monday from 6 p.m. until midnight at the Riverboat Barge & Grill, Coolidge Park. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Mary Elise Curtiss of East Ridge, a native of Tracy City, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was 90.

Frances Lucille Ross Holdam died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was 85.
She was a member of White Oak United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Holdam, and a daughter, Pat Lowe.
Survivors include two daughters, Earnestine Shepard, Gurley, Ala., and Ora Lee Woods, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Monday at noon CDT in Gurley Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Bynum officiating.

Anne M. James died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, in Queens, N.Y. She was 69.

M.J. Kyle
M.J. "Jack'' Kyle of Red Bank died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at his home. He was 72.
Mr. Kyle, a native of Clay County, Tenn., graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Wheland Foundry for 24 years and also for the H.G. Mouat Co. in Birmingham, Ala., and Columbus Foundries in Columbus, Ga. He was a member of the American Foundrymen's Society and the Democratic Party.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jimmie Grubb Kyle, his second wife, Harriet "Tootsie'' Cade Kyle, and a daughter, Bethan.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at 2214 Ashmore Ave., Red Bank.

Mr. Reynolds was a Baptist and was employed by American Transmission.
Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Hilda Reynolds Sr., East Ridge; two brothers, Bobby L. Reynolds Jr., Rossville, Ga., and Toby H. Reynolds, East Ridge; sister, Mary Elizabeth Smith, East Ridge; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services were Friday at noon at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home.
Burial was in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

Melvin Eugene "Gene'' Rice of East Ridge died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 60.

Margaret Richey
Margaret Guthrie Richey died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Richey, a native of Harrison, was a graduate of Central High School and a member of the United Methodist Church. She and her late husband, Robert E. "Bob'' Richey, were owners of Bob Richey's DoNut Shop and Catering Service.
A graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Harrison Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Kidwell officiating.

Randolph Smith Sr.
Randolph M. Smith Sr. of Soddy-Daisy died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in a local health care facility. He was 83.
Mr. Smith was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Smith, and two daughters, Joan Alexander and Bobbie Jo Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Black and Eva Smith; a son, Randolph Smith Jr.; sister, Dot Poe; two brothers, Warren C. and Sonny Smith, all of Soddy-Daisy; 12 grandchiildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. James F. Cross officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Miranda Jean St. Aubin, infant daughter of James Richard St. Aubin and Mindy Maria Williams, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a local hospital.
Other survivors include her grandparents, Jean Maria Williams, East Ridge; Sandra Lee and Robert D. Averett, Soddy-Daisy; great-grandmother, Esther Jo Cagle, Chattanooga; and her great-grandfather, Milton Allen Davidson, Florida.

Billy Farrell Vaughn died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Chicago. He was 61.
Mr. Vaughn was an independent truck driver and a Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Della Thornton Vaughn, and two brothers, Arnold and James Vaughn.
Survivors include his father, Cecil Vaughn, Chattanooga; brother, Don Vaughn, Chattanooga; sister, Wanda Hartley, Chattanooga; nieces and nephews.

Rosy Wilkerson
Rosy L. Wilkerson died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was 98.
She was a native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., and a member of East Third Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Iva Wilkerson, and her husband, Estill Wilkerson.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Palmer; stepson, Charles R. Wiggins, both of Chattanooga; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery.

CLEVELAND -- Verina "Mickie'' Alleman died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident. She was 33.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Donald "Junior'' Alleman; son, Donny Alleman, Cleveland; father and mother, Vernon and Dottie Richie, Cleveland; two sisters, Angelia Crumbley and Lynda Hampton; and her grandmothers, Thelma Richie and Artis Cheek.

Fred Crittenden Jr.
CLEVELAND -- Fred Crittenden Jr. died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Crittenden was a member of Berean Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for more than 40 years and served as a deacon. He retired from Magic Chef with more than 43 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Crittenden; sons, Mike and Roger Crittenden, both of Cleveland; sister, Irene Melton, Ringgold, Ga.; and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Boanerges Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Wagner and the Rev. Randall Headrick officiating.
Burial will be in Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dobbs, Houston; three daughters, Robbie Monique Waldrop, Dallas, Priscilla D. Holtz, Woodstock, Ga., and Cammie Sue Woods, Louisville, Texas; sister, Doris Young Heitman, Maryville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

ETOWAH -- Berlon Leon Long died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a Knoxville hospital. He was 68.
Mr. Long was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Long; son, Berlon Leon Long Jr.; and two sisters, Estelle and Winnie Bell Long.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Hyatt, Etowah; brother, Harold Long, Rock Spring, Ga.; one grandson, a niece and a nephew.

Melvin Lyle
SEQUATCHIE -- Melvin Clayton Lyle died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at his home. He was 64.
Mr. Lyle retired from TVA's Bellefonte Nuclear Plant. He was past master of Olive Branch Lodge 297, past illustrious master and high priest of the York Rite Bodies, worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the VFW. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of Steamfitters & Plumbers Local 404.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Wilkes Lyle, and his father, Albert Clayton Lyle.
Survivors include a son, Thomas C. Lyle, Pikeville, Tenn.; stepson, Michael L. Kilgore, Ontario, Calif.; his mother, Estelle Lyle, Sequatchie, Tenn.; three sisters, Geraldine Sisk and Linda Meeks, both of Jasper, Tenn., and Wanda Perry Eastes, Winchester, Tenn.; two brothers, Joseph E. and James R. Lyle, both of Jasper.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper with the Rev. James Ramsey officiating.
Burial will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tenn.

JASPER -- Brandy L. Poe died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, from injuries she suffered in an automobile accident. She was 17.

CLEVELAND -- Irene Grace Ratledge died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in an area hospital. She was 85.
She was a Baptist and the widow of David Charles Ratledge.
Survivors include her sons, Danny and Bill Ratledge, both of Cleveland; her daughters, Joyce Todd, June Swafford and Brenda Williams, all of Cleveland, Barbara Ellis, Holly Hill, Fla., and Betsy Brunette, Varnell, Ga.; a sister, Alice Hood, Cleveland; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewayne Hamby officiating.
Burial was in Fort Hill Cemetery.

She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bassil L. Howard.
Survivors include two sons, Larry B. and Marion Howard, both of Flintstone; five daughters, Delores Dodson, Chattanooga, Glenda Eldridge, Jayne Groce, Doris Everett and Rita Bean, all of Flintstone; sister, Lela Long, Rossville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was widowed by both Loyd Smith and Floyd Adams.
Survivors include a son, Billy Smith, Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Bobbie Sue Gann and Juanita Hatrston , Ider; two sisters, Blackie Vandiver and Lucille Hickman, both of Winslow, Ariz.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Jones; three daughters, Phyllis Putman, Estill Fork, Ala., Debra Rogers, Sylacauga, Ala., and Patty Pittman, Atlanta; son, Jimmy Harris, Jasper, Tenn.; five sisters, Theresa Stevens, Glenda Clayton, Sonja Anderson, Ateka Jones and Mary Jo Mosier, all of Chattanooga; brother, Luther Jones, Aspel, Ala.; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hall and the Rev. Donna Airheart officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery.

Lena Long
RAINSVILLE (AL) - Lena Long died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in an area nursing home. She was 93.
Arrangements will be announced by W.T. Wilson Funeral Home, Rainsville, Ala.

Hazel Reed
HOLLYWOOD (AL) - Hazel Reed died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000. She was 71.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Reed; three sisters, Rosa Pearl Pritchett, Grace Tubbs and Bellzora Henderson, all of Hollywood; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace Sumner and the Rev. Chris Matthews officiating.
Burial will be in PInehaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
