Josie Christine Collier, 64, of Madison, died July 18, 2002, at 243 Bell Street, Ashland City. 
Visitation will be held at Hooker Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 24 from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Ashland City. Rev. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Golden Hill Cemetery, Clarksville.
Survivors include her spouse, Lilton Collier Sr.; three sons, Lilton Collier Jr., Bruce Collier and Reginald Collier of Nashville; three daughters, Jackie Bell, Carolyn Mitchell and Quincy Rogers, all of Nashville; her mother, Ethel L. Nicholson Payne; one brother, Melvin Payne of Nashville, two sisters, Barbara Williams of Nashville and Ethel Rice of Detroit, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was born in Christian County May 13, 1938, the daughter of Ethel L. Nicholson Payne and the late Melvin O. Payne Sr. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Ashland City. She was Development Technician at the Tennessee Department of Mental Health.

Mattie May Dilingham Jordan
Mattie May Dilingham Jordan, 82, died Friday, July 19, 2002.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 22, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City, officiated by Bro. Roy Copeland. 
Interment in Jordan Cemetery. Grandsons and great grandsons served as pallbearers.
She was preceded in death by husband, Frank E. Jordan.
She is survived by sons: Ben F. (Carole) Jordan of Pleasant View, Paul H. (Lola) Jordan of Coopertown, and daughter, Dorthy M. Jordan (Larry Knight) of Nashville; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Jimmy Wayne Sloan, 62, died July 20, 2002.
Services were held at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Vernon Barker officiating. Pallbearers: Leo Conners, Danny Dugger, Jeff Edmond, Danny Elmore, Adam Lessman, Dickey Rediker, Richard Rediker. Internment: Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View.
He is survived by wife, Marie Sloan; daughter, Vicki Boss; son, Tim Sloan, grandchildren, Shina Boss, Holly, Elena, Simona and Elias Sloan; sister, Zulene Bagwell, Ashland City; brother, Jesse L. Reeder, Joelton.

Willard Oakley
Willard Oakley, 72, a respected West Nashville lumberman for over 50 years, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2002, from Lou Gehrig’s disease. 
Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, 2002, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home, Ashland City, with Brother Devin Pickard officiating. Burial followed in family plot in Ashland City. Serving as pallbearers were Alan Oakley, Daniel Oakley, Richard Mueck, Richard Dole, Allen Dale Bates and Blake Luttrell; Honorary Pallbearers K.R. Stanfill, Donald Meadows, J.T. Scott, Billy Heath, John Rankin, Jerry Reynolds, Cotton Story. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lou Gehrig’s Disease Foundation.
He is survived by loving mother, Ethel; devoted wife, Darlene; four children, Alan Oakley, Jennifer Oakley, Anna Oakley Mueck and Heidi Oakley Dole; eight grandchildren, Daniel Oakley, Dorothy Oakley, Allen Dale Bates, Blake Oakley Luttrell, Annalee Oakley Mueck, Jenna Dole, Austin Dole and Hannah Dole; two great-grandchildren, Baylee Danielle Oakley and Willard Brock Oakley.

Charles Edward Odle
Charles Edward Odle, 70, born Sept. 8, 1931, died July 24, 2002, at Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville.
Private graveside services for Mr. Odle were held on Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View, with John Allbert officiating. 
He was preceded in death by father, Abie Odle; a brother, Carlton Odle, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Christian Allbert; mother, Mary Odle of Nashville and his beloved dog, Missy; loving and devoted wife, Dimple Allbert Odle of Ashland City; sons, Eddie (Shelia) Odle of Ashland City, Wade (Lisa) Odle of Springfield; daughters, Janet (Mike) McWhorter of Cunningham, Elaine (Robert) Ogle of Madison, Debra (Ricky) Meadows of Henrietta, Margie (Mark) Ellis of Henrietta; brothers Harold Odle, Jimmy Odle, David Odle, Clarence Odle, sisters Gladys Odle, Linda Odle, 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four brothers-in-law, Lonnie and Christopher, Thomas and John Allbert, two sisters-in-law, Tillie Bishop and Diane Allbritton; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Tillie Bishop.
Mr. Odle was owner of C.E.Odle Roofing Company and a volunteer Deputy Sheriff for 17 years under Sheriff Doris Weakley. He was well known and loved by the people of the Henrietta community.

Joel F. Bradley Sr.
Joel Fontaine Bradley, Sr., 84, of Pleasant View, died July 5, 2002, at Gateway Hospital.
Services were conducted Sunday, July 7, 2002, at the Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harris Bradley; sisters, Marguerite Chambliss, Nany Lou Cox and Verna Mae Bradley.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Frazier Bradley of Pleasant View; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Joel F. and Betsy Bradley of Clarksville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Scott Southerland of Cadiz, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Bradley was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Robertson County to Mary Dowlen and Verner Aldolphis Bradley.
He was a retired Farmer and Crop Inspector with the Tennessee Crop Improvement Association.
He was also a member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

Jonathan Michael Ferrell, 11 months, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. Father Peter officiated. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery in Ashland City.
He is survived by mother, Dawn Ferrell; sisters, Christina Ferrell, Victoria Ferrell and Elizabeth Simpson, all of Ashland City.

Mary Edith (Shivers) Hudgens, 88, died Aug. 25, 2002.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Buena Vista Funeral Home, 3634 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, with Bro. Kelly LeBlanc officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. She was prededed in death by husband, Howard Fieldon Hudgens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Lee; sons, Edward, Edwin, and Leon Lee; daughter, Phylis Lee, her parents, Morris and Lida Marie Lieurance; her brothers, Keith, Kenneth and William Lieurance.
She is survived by daughters, Terrisa Martin of Ashland City, Sonja Golden of Tennessee, Ill.; sons, Edward Michael Lee of Ashland City, Jack Clark of Washington; brothers, Steven Lieurance of Wicita, Kan., Ernest Lieurance of Dallas City, Ill.; sisters, Lois Bull of Canton, Ill., Janie Ellison of Dallas City, Ill. and Louilla Harter of California; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Elwin Mayo, Sr., 80, of Madison, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Lakeshore Wedgewood Retirement Center, Nashville.
Services were held at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 with Novice Wray officiating. Pallbearers were Blake Mayo, Brent Mayo, Ricky Mayo, Randy Mayo, Barry Mayo, Dale Turrentine, Don Moses, Mike McDonald. Burial was at Joelton Hills Memory Gardens, Joelton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madge Mayo who passed away May 25, 2002, and son, Charles E. (Butch) Mayo, Jr.
He is survived by daughter, Sherri (Jim) Anderson, Old Hickory; son, Alan (Pam) Mayo, Hendersonville; seven grandchildren; sisters, Geri Turrentine, Joelton, Movella McDonald, Battle Creek, Mich.; brothers, Earl Mayo, Joelton, Ronnie Mayo, Ashland City.
He was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Joelton, the son of Willie Eugene and Ollie Mae Dowlen Mayo. He was a member of the Dickerson Road Baptist Church and a supervisor for BellSouth. He was a US Navy veteran.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Peter's Church, Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at 12 p.m. in Henderson, Nev. Memorial services will be held at Parkers Creek Baptist Church, Dickson, Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. Joe Estes.
