NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. | Jennifer Lee Baker, 28, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002.

Warren H. Beagle

PAWLEYS ISLAND | Warren H. Beagle, 76, a retired captain with the Georgetown Fire Department, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at home. 

He was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of the late Henry Ardell Beagle and Marie Christine Bowman Beagle. 

He was a partner in the former H. A. Beagle and Sons Electric Co. in Georgetown for many years and, during that time, served the fire department as a volunteer. He became a full-time firefighter in 1973 and retired as captain in April 1990. He was a member of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Marie B. Bailey of Myrtle Beach and Helen B. Stell of Lula, Ga.; three stepdaughters, Elaine Doran Mitchell of Matthews, N.C., Pat Doran Hendriks of Pawleys Island and Judy Doran Mills of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Doris Pearsall of Orange City, Fla.; a brother, Charles Beagle of Fairfield, Conn.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Precious Blood Of Christ Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick J. Stenson, MSC, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery Annex in Georgetown.

LITTLE RIVER | The Rev. Fred Douglas Bellamy, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Loris Extended Care Center after an illness.

Maria E. Broadwell

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH | Maria E. Broadwell, 79, of Anne Street, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. 

She was born in Norwood, N.C., a daughter of the late Gerald H. and Hettie Blalock Ehringer. 

She was a member of the Surf Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a former Girl Scout leader and a Sunday school teacher. 

Survivors include her husband, Henry C. Broadwell Sr.; a daughter, Nannette Hatcher and her husband, Irvin, of North Myrtle Beach; a son, Henry C. Broadwell Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Concord, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Kelley and Melanie. 

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at her daughter's home, on North Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach. 

A private family service will be at St. Stephens Episcopal Church Columbarium.

Peter Carroll Jr.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH | Peter Carroll Jr., 59, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. 

He was born Oct. 6, 1943, in Conway, a son of the late Peter and Thelma Williams Carroll. 

He was a golf director at the Sea Island Inn and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He also served two years in the Coast Guard. 

Survivors include his wife, Doreen Carroll; his son, Kevin, of Charleston; his daughter, Michelle; his brother, Steve Carroll and his wife, Demeter; a nephew, George Carroll, all of Columbia; and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Hannah. 

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach. The Rev. Robert Wilkes and the Rev. William Millar will officiate. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

CHESTERFIELD | Martha Cassidy Crowley, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. 

Survivors include three daughters, Sallie Crowley, Carolyn C. Outlaw and Jo Ann C. Teal; a nephew, Chucky Crowley; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home in Chesterfield.

Annabelle R. Foxworth

CONWAY | Annabelle Rogers Foxworth, 86, widow of Joseph Major Foxworth, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Waccamaw Community Hospital. 

She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Simpson Monroe and Lenora Johnson Rogers. She was a charter member of North Conway Baptist Church. She worked for many years at AVX, North Conway Baptist Church Daycare and Wal-Mart of Conway. 

Survivors include five sons, Gene Foxworth and his wife, Frances, of Pamplico, Joseph E. "Buddy" Foxworth of Cocoa, Fla., Carl Foxworth and his wife, Gloria, of Florence, David Foxworth and his wife, Hazel, of Georgetown, and Larry Foxworth and his wife, Carolyn, of Acworth, Ga.; three daughters, Betty F. Jordan of Garden City Beach, Virginia Sundy and her husband, James L. Sundy, of Atlanta, and June E. "Judy" Moore of Alpharetta, Ga.; a brother, Lloyd Rogers of Aynor; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel. 

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at North Conway Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Brittingham and the Rev. Derris Davenport will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery

Clyde W. Gainey

CONWAY | Clyde W. Gainey, 82, of Collins Street, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Grand Strand Healthcare. 

He was born in Hartsville, a son of the late Boyd White and Sue Byrd Gainey. 

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conway and the Angler B. Sunday school class. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was owner-operator of Dixie Mercantile. Special thanks to Grand Strand Healthcare. 

Survivors include his wife, Helen L. Gainey; two brothers, Harvey T. Gainey and George Donald Gainey, both of Hartsville; three sisters, Carolyn Richardson of Conway, Mildred Lundy of Elgin and Marian G. Adams of Kingsport, Tenn.; a grandson, Stephen James McNair of Lexington; a granddaughter, Susan McNair Seckinger of Beaufort; and three great-grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara G. McNair of Holly Hill. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.

COLUMBIA | Dorothy Lee Mullis Hanna, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. 

Survivors include three sons, Williams C. Mullis, David W. Hanna and William Earl Hanna Jr.; two daughters, Karyn Garris and Gail Etheridge; a sister, Margie Harrell; and eight grandchildren.

Peggy C. Jensen

SURFSIDE BEACH | Peggy Coleen Jensen, 42, of Glenns Bay Road, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at home after an illness. 

She was born in Bloomington, Ind., a daughter of Omar B. and Maxine Johnson Jensen. 

She was a 1984 graduate of the University of Iowa and a partner with Prime Ticket in Myrtle Beach, and she served on the homeowners association at the Retreat at Glenns Bay. 

Survivors, in addition to her parents of Lincoln, Neb., include a brother, Terry Jensen and his wife, Ann Bohn Jensen, of Brandon, Miss.; two sisters, Linda Jensen DeCarlo and her husband, Robert, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Joyce Jensen of Lincoln; two nephews, Chris DeCarlo of New York City and Tom Jensen of Brandon; nieces, Mary and Kate Jensen of Brandon, Paula DeCarlo of Raleigh, N.C., and Elizabeth DeCarlo of Chattanooga. 

A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. today at St. Pauls Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island. 

The funeral will be at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln.

ROANOKE, VA. | Evelyn June Katz, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002. 

She was the widow of Bernard David Katz. 

Survivors include two sons, Stuart Katz of Salem, Va., and Martin Katz and his wife, Gina, of Herndon, Va.; a daughter, Lora Katz of Roanoke; a grandson, Ben Katz; a brother, Phil Aarons of Myrtle Beach; two special cousins, Jerome and Miriam Hurwitz of Myrtle Beach; and a sister-in-law, Roz Katz of Roanoke.

Brian D. Kitchen Sr.

SURFSIDE BEACH | Brian Dwayne Kitchen Sr., 40, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, from injuries suffered in an accident. 

He was born Oct. 11, 1962, in Hagerstown, Md., a son of Raymond Wayne Kitchen of Clear Spring, Md., and Harvey and Ruby Marlene Paul Whetzel of Knoxville, Md. 

He was a 1980 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He was employed by Meadows Lawn and Service in Surfside Beach. 

He was a Protestant. 

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Cindy L. Canfield Kitchen, whom he married Oct. 31, 1996; a daughter, Danielle M. Kitchen; a son, Brian D. Kitchen Jr.; two stepsons, Robert G. Palmer of Smithsburg, Md., and Travis W. Palmer; two sisters, Diane Brunner of Mount Airy, Md., and Roxanna Slick of Fairplay; a brother, Lawrence Kitchen of Myersville, Md.; two stepsisters, Teresa Drnach of Howell, Mich., and Kristy Kitchen of Brunswick, Md.; and nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by a brother, Alan Kitchen. 

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Socastee Community Church on S.C. 544 in Socastee. The Rev. Donald Martin will officiate. 

Elizabeth Padgett

FLORENCE | Elizabeth Holliday Allen Padgett, 64, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at home after an illness. 

She was born Aug. 19, 1938, at McLeod Infirmary in Florence, the first-born daughter of Edwin Marshall Allen Jr. and the late Elizabeth Holliday Allen. 

She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years. She was the great-granddaughter of Julia Marshall and James Allen, one of the founding fathers of Florence, and the granddaughter of Flora Johnson and George Judson Holliday of Galivants Ferry. 

She graduated from Florence High School in 1956 and the University of South Carolina in 1960, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Beaux Arts. Upon completion of her degree in education, she taught elementary school in the Richland County School District, where she was elected Teacher of the Year during her first year in the profession. 

In 1961, she married Clyde Talmadge Padgett Jr. of Florence. After his graduation from dental school in Richmond, Va., the couple made their home in Florence and joined Central Methodist Church. 

She loved her home and her garden. She earned Master Gardener certification and enjoyed sharing her passion with the friends and family for whom her garden became a haven. She was a delightful storyteller, quick to tell the witty tales that made every visitor to her home feel more cheerful for having spent time with her. 

Survivors, in addition to her father and husband, include three children, Celeste Blackwell Allen Padgett Kahn and Clyde Talmadge Padgett III, both of Florence, and Edwin Allen Padgett of Tryon, N.C.; four grandchildren, David Alan Kahn Jr., Celeste Marshall Allen Kahn, Clyde Talmadge Padgett Kahn and Katherine Elizabeth Padgett; a brother, Edwin Marshall Allen III of Florence; a son-in-law, David Alan Kahn; a daughter-in-law, Ashley Burdette Padgett; and two sisters-in-law, Frances Smith Padgett Farmer and Jean Almand Daniel Allen, both of Florence. 

She was predeceased by her sister, Celeste Blackwell Allen. 

The family will be at home on Cherokee Road. 

The funeral will be at at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Pietila and the Rev. William Malambri will officiate.

MULLINS | Edna Mae Morris Phillips, 82, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. 

Survivors include her children, Albert G. Phillips Jr., Rosalie P. "Susie" Legette, Ralph Phillips and Iris Gayle P. Turner; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Morris; and a half-brother, Monroe Butler.

Minnie Pittman

MARIETTA, Ga. | Minnie Lee Sellers Pittman, 72, formerly of Conway and wife of the late William Best Pittman, of Sandtown Road, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in Georgia. 

She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Samuel Lawson and Maggie Graham Sellers. 

Survivors include a daughter, Gail Glass and her husband, Timmy Priest, of Doraville, Ga.; two brothers, Bill Sellers and Jeffery Sellers, both of Conway; a sister, Hazel McCracken of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Michael Glass, Randy Priest and Kristy Swanson. 

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.

Stanley E. Tucker Sr.

ANDREWS | Stanley Edwin Tucker Sr., 63, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. 

He was born Feb. 6, 1939, in Brunswick, Ga., a son of Nora Lee Smith Tucker and the late Charles Edward Tucker. 

He grew up in Brunswick and graduated from the Bradwell Institute. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He was employed by the Seaboard Coast Line and later by CSX Railroad for 40 years before retiring three years ago because of ill health. 

Survivors, in addition to his mother of Brunswick, include his wife, Elizabeth Lambert Tucker; two sons, Stanley E. Tucker Jr. of St. Stephen and Adam Wade Tucker of Andrews; a daughter, Jamie Ann T. Mescher of Andrews; five brothers, Edward Wayne Tucker and Lee Tucker, both of Brunswick, Kenneth Tucker of Darien, Ga., Paul Tucker of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lyle Tucker of Columbia; two sisters, Evelyn Bodiford of Bonneau and Anita Durden of Davies, Fla.; and five grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home, Andrews chapel. 

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Andrews Church of God. The Rev. Thomas W. Wallace II will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

SAVANNAH, Ga. | Jimmy Earl Waddell, 62, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. 

Survivors include his mother, Prudie S. Waddell; three sons, Tracy Waddell, Ricky Waddell and Stacy Waddell; and a sister, Mildred W. Cummings.
