Arla S. Cooper 
Member of First Baptist Church of Canonsburg 
Arla S. Cooper, 70, of Canonsburg, formerly of Macedon, N.Y., died Thursday, January 30, 2003, in her home. 
She was born April 5, 1932, in McClure, a daughter of Robert F. and Anna D. Kline Stumpff. 
Mrs. Cooper spent most of her life in Macedon and had been a Canonsburg resident for the past five years. 
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canonsburg and Greater Canonsburg Senior Citizens. 
Her husband, Edwin Cooper, died February 21, 1997. 
Surviving are three sons, Robert S. Burt of Canonsburg, the Rev. Joseph E. Burt of Massena, N.Y., and the Rev. David L. Burt of Brunswick, Md.; a sister, Elsie Durnham of Penfield, N.Y.; a brother, Floyd Stumpff of Himrod, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
Deceased is a sister, Grace Pearson.

Freda E. Dale 
Active member of Thomas Presbyterian Church 
Freda E. Hamilton Dale, 89, of Venetia, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003, in her home. 
She was born May 24, 1913, in Monongahela, a daughter of William and Anna Shirmer Herman. 
Mrs. Dale was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and world travel. 
She was an active member of Thomas Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four. 
Mrs. Dale was a member of Nottingham Township Farm Women and had served on the board of directors of Fairview Cemetery in Eighty Four for many years. 
Her first husband, Carl S. Hamilton, died in 1978. 
Her second husband, Shannon Dale, survives. 
Also surviving are two sons, James C. Hamilton of Fort Jones, Calif., and Donald K. Hamilton of Washington; three daughters, Virginia Kelley of Rio Rancho, N.M., Patricia Stillings of Savannah, Ga., and Elizabeth Hamilton of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. 
Deceased is a son, Carl Hamilton.

Helen R. Moninger 
Volunteer at medical center 
Helen R. Moninger, 75, of South Beaver Township, died Thursday, January 30, 2003, in Medical Center at Beaver. 
She was born October 18, 1927, in Cameron, W.Va., a daughter of S.W. and Jessie M. Fletcher Morgan. 
Mrs. Moninger was a member of Chippewa United Methodist Church, where she served as past altar steward and communion steward. 
She was involved with Trombino's Music Center, where she performed at organ concerts. 
Mrs. Moninger was a lifetime member of Medical Center at Beaver Auxiliary and served as a volunteer at the critical care desk at the medical center for 16 years. 
On June 15, 1946, she married Rex J. Moninger, who survives. They were married for 56 years. 
Also surviving are a son, Gary Lee Moninger of South Beaver Township; a daughter, Janice Shee of Chippewa Township; a granddaughter, Jill Shee of Laurinburg, N.C.; two sisters, Edith Teagarden of Barnsville, Ohio, and Erna Snodgrass of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

John E. Eastham 
Claysville resident owned Eastham Construction Co. 
John S. Eastham, 70, of Claysville, died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003, in Washington Hospital, after being in failing health for the past several years. 
He was born November 5, 1932, in Luka, W.Va., a son of William Frederick Eastham and Ada Perrino Eastham Hughes. 
Mr. Eastham had resided in South Franklin Township prior to moving to East Finley (Pleasant Grove) in 1960. 
He was employed by the former Blacktop Paving Co. for about 20 years. He owned and operated Eastham Construction Co. for 10 years prior to being employed as a superintendent by Frank Irey Construction Co. of Monongahela for about 15 years before his retirement because of ill health. 
Mr. Eastham was superintendent of the construction of MGM Studios at Disney World, Orlando, Fla., and Marshall University football stadium in Huntington, W.Va. 
He was an avid wrestling fan and youth wrestling coach at East Finley Elementary School for approximately seven years. 
Mr. Eastham was an avid cook and enjoyed traveling. 
On January 5, 1952, he married Shirley Ann Crawford, who survives. 
Also surviving are two sons, John F. Eastham of Claysville and Harry W. Eastham of Washington; two daughters, Joyce A. McConn of West Alexander and Kathy L. Pettit of Washington; a brother, William F. Eastham Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Orlando; a sister, Louise Diett of Washington; eight grandchildren, Tracey McConn Miller, Stephanie McConn Summers, Patrick McConn, Carl, Joel and Christina Pettit, John S. Eastham II and Katelynn Eastham; and five great-grandchildren. 
Deceased are two sisters, Lorena Bell and Doris Hughes; and a brother, Frank Eastham. 
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, in Roadside Chapel (Pleasant Grove), with the Rev. Mary Sprowls officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Dialysis Clinics Inc., 280 North Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville.

Margaret E. Natale 
Worked for Gammons and Ernie's Esquire restaurants 
Margaret E. Natale, 86, of Canonsburg, died at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003, in Canonsburg General Hospital. 
She was born November 15, 1916, in Elizabeth, a daughter of John and Sarah DeRocco Larcinese. 
Mrs. Natale was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. 
In 1987, she retired after working 20 years at Gammons and Ernie's Esquire restaurants, where she was in charge of preparing salads and desserts. 
Mrs. Natale was a football and baseball fan. 
She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
On June 27, 1934, she married Joseph Natale, who died March 6, 1971. 
Surviving are three daughters, Luci Britko of LaGrange, Ky., Joyce Matthews and Janet Pappas, both of Canonsburg; a sister, Mary DeFrank of Canton, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
Deceased are a son, John E. Natale; three sisters, Viola Kisselovich, Ann Hafner and Elvie Korona; and two brothers, Phillip and Domenic Larcinese.

William S. Piatt 
Laboratory assistant at Drakenfeld 
William S. Piatt, 83, of Washington, died Thursday, January 30, 2003, in Washington County Health Center, Washington. 
He was born December 11, 1919, in Fairfield, West Bethlehem Township, a son of William and Ida Grable Piatt. 
Mr. Piatt was a 1937 graduate of West Bethlehem Township High School and a 1939 graduate of Penn Commercial Business School, where he received a degree in accounting. 
He was employed as a laboratory assistant at B.F. Drakenfeld Co. in Washington for more than 39 years, before retiring in 1985. 
Mr. Piatt was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army while stationed in North Africa and Europe. 
He was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Washington and had served as its treasurer for many years. 
Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn Gourley of Washington; three brothers, Warren Piatt of Washington, Joseph Piatt of Brevard, N.C., and John Piatt of Butler; three grandchildren, Julie Rhine, Tammy Meiers and Thomas R. Gourley III; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
