James G. Page
James G. Page, 64, of Foxburg, died Thursday morning,
June 29, 2000, in the emergency room of Clarion Hospital after he was suddenly
stricken ill at his residence.
Born March 16, 1936, in Foxburg, he was a son of
James L. and Annabelle Grazier Page.
He attended public school in Foxburg and then entered the United States
Marine Corps Feb. 2, 1955. He was discharged Jan. 30, 1959, with the rank
of lance corporal, serving most of his duty in Quantico, Va.
Mr. Page was employed from 1969 until his retirement
in 1987 with the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad as both a brakeman and
substitute conductor. He was a member of the United Transportation Local
No. 596.
He was a member and had served as fire chief of
Foxburg Volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years. At the time of
his death, he was serving as forest fire warden for District No. 8 of Pennsylvania,
a position he held for more than 30 years.
Mr. Page served as mayor of Foxburg Borough for
28 years.
He was Protestant.
Mr. Page was a member of Canby Lodge No. 520, F.
& A.M., of St. Petersburg and the Coudersport Consistory.
He was a social member of VFW Post 7073 of Parker
and was a regular member of American Legion Post 636 of Foxburg.
Mr. Page was married Nov. 28, 1956, to Cleda C.
Greenawalt, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Gila J. and
Gayla M. Page, both of Foxburg, and Beth C. Courson of St. Petersburg;
two sons, Jeffrey G. Page of West Freedom and Barry J. Page of Foxburg;
five grandchildren, Jamie L. Pennington of Eau Claire, Timothy M. Pennington
of Japan, Leonard J. Page of Hilliards and Amanda Curran and Eric E. Courson,
both of St. Petersburg; and two great-grandchildren Ashley and Ivan E.
Pennington of Eau Claire.
He also is survived by a sister, Rose Edinger of
Foxburg; four brothers, John “Jack” Page of Bruin, William L. Page of Foxburg,
Raymond L. “Buzz” Page of Emlenton and David C. Page of Emlenton RD; and
a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Page was preceded
in death by a brother, Donald Page.
Friends were received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street,
Parker. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Interment was in St. Petersburg Cemetery.
Veterans of the American Legion Post of Foxburg
and VFW Post of Parker conducted full military services on Monday, July
3, 2000, both in the funeral home and at the cemetery.

Elsie L. Carlson
Elsie L. Carlson, 78, of Lantana, Fla., formerly
of Rimersburg, died Friday, April 21, 2000, in JFK Medical Center, Atlantis,
Fla.
Born Sept. 6, 1921, in Rimersburg, she was a daughter
of Benjamin M. and Wilda M. Keller McCall.
Mrs. Carlson served in the U.S. Army Women’s Corps during World War
II.
She was a 1938 graduate of Sligo High School and
a graduate of Temple University Franklin School of Arts & Sciences,
Philadelphia, with a degree in laboratory X-ray technology.
Mrs. Carlson worked as a registered nuclear medical
technologist in Rockford, Ill., and at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton
Beach, Fla.
She was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church
in West Freedom.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Mildred)
Carlson of Hermitage; and one brother, Milton McCall of Rialto, Calif.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carlson was preceded
in death by five brothers and two sisters.

25, 2000 in the funeral home with the Rev. Doug J. Friant, pastor of the

Emogene B. Hindman
Emogene B. Hindman, 69, of Emlenton, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000,
in Orchard Manor, Grove City.
Born Nov. 7, 1930, in Clinton Township, Venango
County, she was the daughter of James E. and Elsie M. McFadden Kifer. She
was a 1948 graduate of Parker High School.
Mrs. Hindman was a member of the Big Bend United
Methodist Church of Emlenton.
She was married Oct. 25, 1950, to Paul F. Hindman, who died June 28,
1992.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Robert (Janet)
Hiatt of North Richland Hills, Texas, Mrs. Raymond (Susan L.) Dunkle of
Kennerdell, Mrs. Jack (Mary Louise) Gold of Hilliards, Mrs. Javier (Sandra)
Elias of San Antonio, Texas, and Barbara Suggs and Mrs. Mark (Karen) Crisman,
both of Emlenton; three sons, Larry F. Hindman of Library and Donald P.
Hindman and James A. Hindman, both of Emlenton; 20 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by one brother, Claire Kifer
of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. James (Shirley) Overheim of Parker
and Louise Cook of Hilliards; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hindman
was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and one sister.

in the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Tanner, pastor of the Big Bend

Antonio J. “Tony” Parenti
Antonio J. “Tony” Parenti, 78, of Parker died Thursday,
April 27,'00 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 17, 1922, in Forestville, he was the son
of Enrico and Julia Parenti Parenti.
He had been a truck driver and worked in general
maintenance at U.S. Steel’s Hillsville plant in New Castle for 33 years.
Mr. Parenti was a Catholic. He belonged to VFW Post
7073 of Parker and American Legion Post 636 of Foxburg.
During World War II, he served with the Army in
the Pacific.
He is survived by a son, Robert Parenti of Parker;
a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Susan) Levier of Jamestown, Pa.; a brother, Sam
Parenti of Slippery Rock; three sisters, Teresa Nagy, Annabelle Ekis and
Diane Parenti, all of Boyers; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
His wife, Norma R. Hoover Parenti, whom he married Sept. 30, 1942,
died May 10, 1992. He also was preceded in death by three brothers and
two sisters.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10
a.m. Monday, May 1, 2000 at St. Mary Roman Catholic church, Parker. The
Rev. Thomas Federline, church pastor, officiated.
Burial was in Perryville Cemetery, Perry Township,
Clarion County.
VFW Post 7073 and American Legion Post 636 conducted
military honors at Perryville Cemetery.
Helene G. Boyd
Helene G. Boyd, 93, of Buchanan Commons Nursing
Home, Grove City, formerly of Clintonville, Beaver and Foxburg, died at
9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2000, in the nursing home.
Born Oct. 11, 1906, in St. Petersburg, Clarion County,
she was a daughter of John F. and Lillie Fulmer Eddinger.
During World War II, Mrs. Boyd was employed at the
former Parker Glass Factory in Parker.
She attended the Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville. Mrs. Boyd
was a homemaker.
Mrs. Boyd was first married in 1926 to Orbin Branthoover.
She was later married in Robinson Chapel near Parker on July 2, 1936, to
James P. Boyd, who died Feb. 7, 1972.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, O.L. and
Helen Mae Branthoover of Emlenton RD 3; a grandson, John R. Branthoover
of Boyers; a sister Estellene Durnell of Greenville; and a number of nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Boyd
was preceded in death by four brothers, Roger Eddinger, Byron Eddinger,
Wendell Eddinger and Arnold Eddinger; and a sister, Marguerite Kunselman.

Nelson J. Cotherman
Nelson J. Cotherman, 81, of Emlenton RD 1, died
at 10:47 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2000, at his residence.
Born Oct. 17, 1918, at Emlenton RD 1, he was the
son of James and Blanche Hulsizer Cotherman.
Mr. Cotherman had been a carpenter all of his life. He had been employed
by Sportspal Canoe Factory of Emlenton and Johnstown and worked for Myers
Industries in Michigan for four and a half years until his retirement in
1982.
He was affiliated with the New Zion Evangelical
Church of Emlenton RD 1. He was a member of the Edenburg Lodge #550 F&AM
in Knox, the New Castle Consistory, and a life member of the Zem Zem Shrine
in Erie.
Mr. Cotherman was married May 24, 1940, in Nickleville,
to the former Gertrude Milford, who survives. They would have celebrated
their 60th anniversary this year.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cotherman is survived
by a son, Robert Cotherman and his wife Kathy, of Emlenton RD 1; a daughter,
Debra and her husband Roy “Bud” Kemery Jr., also of Emlenton RD 1; seven
grandchildren, Bryan and Valerie Cotherman, Trace Switzer, and Raymond,
Richard, Heather and Holly Kemery; and two great grandsons, Brandon and
Brodi Switzer.
Also surviving are two sisters, Lennace Weaver of
Knox RD 1, and Patricia Watkins of Roswell, N.M.; a brother, Charles Cotherman
of Knox RD 1; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cotherman was preceded
in death by four sisters, Weltha Alden, Geraldine Mong, Mildred Fye and
LaVon Hook; and a brother, Clyde Cotherman.

in Knox. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at
the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Campbell, pastor of the New Zion

Karla Jo Richmond Schwalm
Karla Jo Richmond Schwalm, 30, of Emlenton, died
early Saturday morning, May 6, 2000, at her residence.
Born Oct. 31, 1969, in Franklin, she was a daughter
of Dorothy Hassler Ritts of Emlenton and the late Joel A. Richmond.
Mrs. Schwalm was a 1987 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion
Valley High School.
She had been a homemaker. She was of the protestant
faith.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Schwalm is survived
by a son, Justin T. Smith of Emlenton; and four daughters, Monica Rose
Smith, Rebecca Lois Smith, Kathrine Jo Smith and Cassandralee Kelly Schwalm,
all of Emlenton.
She is also survived by a sister, Kelly Jo Richmond
of Emlenton; her maternal grandmother, Lois E. Hassler of Emlenton; two
maternal aunts, Patricia Henery of Emlenton and Melissa Sellers of Eau
Claire; and a number of other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mrs. Schwalm was preceded in death by her paternal
grandparents, Arlin and Rosa Richmond; and her maternal grandfather, Reldon
Hassler.

May 10, 2000, at the funeral home with the Rev. Lori Danielson, pastor

Dr. Paul K. Wellman
Dr. Paul K. Wellman, M.D., 77, of Fort Myers, Fla., a St. Petersburg,
Clarion County, native and longtime Louisville, Ky., ophthalmologist, died
at 2:55 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2000, at the Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.
Born Oct. 10, 1922, in St. Petersburg, he was a
son of Dr. Harrison M. and Freda Keeler Wellman.
He was a member of the Cypress Lake United Methodist
Church in Florida and enjoyed painting and woodworking.
Dr. Wellman was a 1940 graduate of St. Petersburg
Richland Township Consolidated High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served
in the U.S. Army and a 1947 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Medical
School.
Following an internship, he succeeded his father
in his medical practice in St. Petersburg until 1951. He then returned
to military service as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Corp,
serving during the Korean Conflict.
After a residency in ophthalmology at Tulane University,
Dr. Wellman entered into private practice in Louisville, Ky., where he
practiced for 38 years.
He retired from medicine in 1985, and lived in Florida
for the past several years. Dr. Wellman was married March 5, 1944, in Foxburg
to the former Kay Fowler, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Wellman is survived
by three sons, Lt. Col. Robert G. Wellman of Travis Air Force Base, David
B. Wellman of Columbia, Mo., and Lynn H. Wellman of Atlanta; and one daughter,
Mrs. Steven (Patricia L.) Becker of Loveland, Colo.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Wellman was preceded
in death by a brother, Richard H. Wellman.

Wanda Lee Horner
Wanda Lee Horner, 70, of Dutch Hill, Parker RD 1,
died Wednesday morning, May 24, 2000, at Butler Memorial Hospital following
an illness.
Born March 4, 1930, in Butler, she was a daughter
of Jesse and Grace Lee Daubenspeck.
Mrs. Horner was a 1948 graduate of Butler High School, as well as a
1952 graduate of the Butler Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member
of the alumni association of that school.
She was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church,
where she served as the church treasurer for many years. Mrs. Horner also
was a member of the church’s Quilting Society.
Mrs. Horner was a member of the Clarion County Chapter
of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as the ladies auxiliary
of the American Legion and VFW, both of Parker.
She was married Sept. 9, 1953, to David E. “Ed” Horner, who survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Horner is survived
by one daughter, Mrs. Scott (Marcie) Douglass of Emlenton RD 2; one son
Jesse Horner of Butler; four grandchildren, Jason Snyder of Butler, Tawnia
Snyder at home and Benjamin and Sarah Horner of Butler; four sisters, Mary
Fair of Butler, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Campbell of Lakewood, Colo., Mrs. Robert
(Norma) Pritts of Parker RD 3 and Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Gould of Butler;
one brother, Forest Daubenspeck of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Horner was preceded
in death by one daughter, Leanne Snyder, who died Dec. 22, 1994; and one
brother, Richard Daubenspeck.

Arlene L. Young
Arlene L. Young, 89, of Emlenton, died unexpectedly
at 2 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at her residence.
She was born June 9, 1910, in Smicksburg.
Mrs. Young was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Worthington and attended St. John Lutheran Church in Emlenton.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Young was married to Albert B. Young, who preceded
her in death.
Surviving are a son, Daniel C. Young of Emlenton; a grandson, Daniel
A. Young of Kittanning; and a niece, Margaret Loughry of Punxsutawney.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded
in death by one brother, one sister and one stepsister.
Private graveside services were held Thursday, May
18, 2000, in Emlenton Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Smith, pastor of St.
John Lutheran Church, Emlenton, and the Rev. Jack Robinson, pastor of St.
Petersburg Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Arrangements are in charge of the Hile Funeral Home,
Emlenton.
Sarah Catherine Ritts
Sarah Catherine Ritts, 80, or 1220 Chestnut St.,
Franklin, died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Sugar Creek Station,
Franklin RD 3.
Born Feb. 3, 1920, in Corsica, she was a daughter
of Orean E. and Bessie Lucas McClain.
Mrs. Ritts had been a custodian for Butler Wick in Franklin and Garmong
Nursing Home in Oil City.
She was a member of the Fox Street Church of God, Rocky Grove, and
the Victory Heights Lo-Cal Gals.
Mrs. Ritts enjoyed reading, hunting and camping.
She was married April 29, 1939, to Leonard E. Ritts,
who died Dec. 11, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Michael L. Ritts of Cooperstown; two daughters,
Mrs. Malcom “Mac” (Carol) Newton and Mrs. Diane Orr, both of Franklin;
five grandchildren, Mark Baker of Franklin, Michael Ritts of Bradleytown
and Randy Ritts, Susan Zinz and Shannon Ritts, all of Cooperstown; and
five great-grandchildren, Brandy Owens, Shawn Ownes, Michael Ritts III,
Ashley Baker and Alison Baker.
She also is survived by one brother, Marvin Gerald McClain of Austintown,
Ohio; two sisters, Leora Johnson of Reno and Silva Wilson of Saegertown;
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ritts
was preceded in death by a son, Fred Eugene Ritts, who was killed in 1976
in an auto accident; and a grandson, Brian Baker, who died April 26, 1998.

Ethel Fross
Ethel Fross, 87, of Grove City, formerly of Parker,
died Wednesday afternoon, May 17, 2000, at Northwest Medical Center, Franklin.
Born Feb. 3, 1913, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter
of Charles and Mary Elizabeth Dougherty Hazard.
She was a member of the Church of the Beloved Disciple
of Grove City and the Rosary Altar Society of the church. She was a former
member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church of Parker.
Mrs. Fross had worked at the Glass Containers Corp. of Parker for years
and retired in 1978.
She was a member of the Glass Bottle Blowers Association
and a former member of the Parker VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Dolores) Gallagher
of Grove City, a stepdaughter, Marion Johnson of Florida; a son, George
Fross Jr. of Franklin; a brother, James Hazard of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George
A. Fross, who died in 1950; four brothers; and a sister.

Hazel C. Fitzgerald
Hazel C. Fitzgerald, 80, of Boyers RD 1, died at
4:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin
following a brief illness.
Born Sept. 30, 1919, in Harrisville, she was a daughter
of Francis V. and Edna Mae Bell McGuirk.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed for a number of years as a cafeteria worker
at both Moniteau High School and Slippery Rock University.
She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church
in Murrinsville.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was married Sept. 30, 1937, to Paul
L. Fitzgerald, who died Nov. 11, 1982.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Patricia)
Shiban of Schaumburg, Ill., Mrs. Rodney (Karen) Hedglin of Boyers RD 1
and Mrs. William (Bonnie) Weiss of Harrisville RD 2; four sons, Barry Fitzgerald
of Franklin and Thomas Fitzgerald, James Fitzgerald and Joseph Fitzgerald,
all of Boyers RD 1; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by one brother, Paul McGuirk
of Foxburg; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Gilmore of Knox; and a number of nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fitzgerald
was preceded in death by one brother, Charles McGuirk.

Kenneth E. Hindman
Kenneth E. Hindman, 59, of Crawford Corners Road,
Emlenton, died unexpectedly at 3 a.m. Sunday, May 28, 2000, in Allegheny
General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Nov. 15, 1940, in Emlenton, he was a son of
Charles W. and Margaret Coulter Hindman.
He was a 1958 graduate of Emlenton High School.
Mr. Hindman worked as an electrician. He was a member
of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 10
of Butler for 42 years. For the past 10 years, he served IBEW as an organizer
and assistant business agent and also was a member of the executive board.
He also was a member of the Democratic Men’s Association
of Butler County.
Mr. Hindman attended both the Scrubgrass Stone Church and the Fellowship
Baptist Church, both of Emlenton.
He enjoyed his grandchildren.
Mr. Hindman was married May 27, 1960, in the Clintonville Methodist
Church to M. Susan McCormick, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Kevin
E. and Paula L. Hindman of Cambridge Springs and M. Shawn and Joleen K.
Hindman of Edinboro; and three grandchildren and one step grandchild, Kassi
L. and Kayla A. Hindman of Cambridge Springs and Connor Hindman and Cory
Herman of Edinboro.
He also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Grace
M.) Long of Emlenton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jeanne Hindman of Emlenton;
and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hindman was preceded
in death by a brother, William E. Hindman.

Arabelle G. Brenneman, 57, of West Monterey, Parker
RD 1, died at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 28, 2000, in Clarion Hospital following
an accident Saturday at her residence.
Born Sept. 27, 1942, near Pittsburgh, she was a
daughter of William H. and Bertha Mae Conrad Phillips.
Mrs. Brenneman was a licensed beautician in Pennsylvania.
She was a former secretary for Econo-Flo Flour Service near Pittsburgh.
She was of the Episcopal faith.
Mrs. Brenneman was married Sept. 9, 1978, to Dale
V. Brenneman, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, William K. Phillips
of Lower Burrell and Arthur D. Phillips of Plum Boro; and a number of nieces
and nephews.
She also is survived by four stepdaughters, Sherry
Hugan of New York, and Brenda Grogno, Tammy Pesanski and Barbara Barclay,
all of Tarentum; four stepsons, Allen Brenneman of Gibsonia, Keith Brenneman
of Arnold, Dave V. Brenneman Jr. of Pittsburgh and Terrence Brenneman of
Blairsville; several step grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral
Home, Wayne Street, Parker.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000 in the
funeral home. Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Lower Burrell.
Louis D. Bowser
Louis D. Bowser, 76, of Knox, died of natural causes
Tuesday evening, June 6, 2000, at his residence.
Born Sept. 6, 1923, in Perry Township, Clarion County,
he was a son of Dean and Amelia Helsel Bowser.
Mr. Bowser was a graduate of the former Parker High
School.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Bowser served under
Gen. George Patton with the 2nd Infantry Regiment in the European Theater
of Operations. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry
Badge.
He also earned the Victory Medal, American Theater
Campaign Ribbon, two Bronze Stars and the European-African-Middle Eastern
Theater Campaign Ribbon.
He was employed at Central Electric of Parker from
1948 until his retirement in 1985.
Mr. Bowser was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church
of St. Petersburg, Pa., where he formerly taught Sunday School. He also
had served as church treasurer for many years.
He was a member of VFW Post 7073 and American Legion
Post 598, both of Parker, and was a member of the Commanders Club of the
Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Bowser was married June 26, 1953, to the former
Bonnie Duncan, who survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Neale Douglas
and Bettie Bowser of Bernville; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Lu-Ann) Carbaugh
of Kenenrdell and Julie Elaine Bowser of Strattanville; nine grandchildren,
Lisa Melanie, Jessica, Reid, Jason, Tracy, Katie, Russell and Rhonda; and
five great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Carl (Norma) Jordan and Mrs.
John (Helen)) Barger, both of Dutch Hill, Parker RD 1, Mrs. Richard (Alma)
Fithian of Beaufort, S.C., and Mrs. Lowell (Mary) Smalligan of Brownsville,
Texas; two brothers, Rodney Bowser of Dutch Hill, Parker RD 1, and Carl
Bowser of Victoria, Australia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowser was preceded
in death by a son, Ray Gordon Bowser, who died in 1984; and two brothers,
Frank Bowser and George Neale Bowser.
The H. Jack buzard Funeral Home, Parker, was in charge of arrangements.
There was no public visitation.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June
9, 2000, in Lawn Haven Burial Estates at Worthington with the Rev. Dennis
A. Smith, St. Peter Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment was in Lawn Haven.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Howard E. “Hubba” Blymiller
Howard E. “Hubba” Blymiller, 62, of Parker, died
at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Medical
Center at Oakland in Pittsburgh following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 28, 1938, in Parker, he was a son of Leaudra
Cobbett Blymiller of Parker and the late Ellsworth E. Blymiller.
He was a 1956 graduate of the former Parker High
School.
Mr. Blymiller entered the U.S. Army in 1961, serving
until 1963. He attained the rank of Spc/4 and served in the Pacific area
in the service.
He began employment with the former Glass Containers
Corp. in Parker in 1956 and worked there until its closing in 1980, except
for his military service.
Mr. Blymiller served as custodian of the Parker
VFW and the Parker Fire Department until his retirement earlier this year.
Howard E. BlymillerHe was a member of American Legion
Post 636 of Foxburg, a social member of VFW Post 7073 of Parker and life
member of the Parker City Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Blymiller was of the United Methodist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter,
Mrs. Robert (Melissa) Buck of Hilliards; a sister, Mrs. William (Joyce)
Zimmel of Chambersburg; a brother, William Blymiller of Cleveland, Tenn.;
and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral
Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday,
June 10, 2000 in the funeral home. Interment was in Parker Presbyterian
Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Parke
City Volunteer Fire Department, Parker. Pa. 16049.
Mary J. Barger
Mary J. Barger, 70, of Beverly Healthcare, Oil City,
formerly of Harrisville, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2000, in the
healthcare facility following an illness.
Born Aug. 20, 1929, in Rimersburg, she was a daughter
of Chambers and Margaret Summerville Crissman.
Mrs. Barger was a Protestant. She was an avid bingo
player.
Mrs. Barger was married April 1, 1953, to Byron
W. “Buck” Barger Sr., who died Sept. 3, 1989.
Surviving are a daughter, Ethel White of Oil City;
a son, Byron W. “Buckey” Barger Jr. of Harrisville RD 1, 11 grandchildren;
and several great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Wendell (Louise)
Kriebel of Hubbard, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Barger
was preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Chestnut and Elizabeth Ann
“Sue” Weckerly.

Home, Wayne Street, Parker.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
June 15, 2000, in the funeral home. Interment was in Perryville Cemetery
