Jack Borick, 40, of Lopez and Cherry Hill, N.J., died Friday, Sept.
1, 2000, at the Cooper Medical Center, Camden, N.J., as a result of an
accident while at work. He was an electrician for DEC Electric Co. of Berlin,
N.J. He was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church in Lopez. In addition,
he was a member of IBEW Local Union 351 and the Harley Davidson Motor Cycles
Group (H.O.G.) He served in the Navy. Born July 18, 1960, in Pennsauken,
N.J., he was a son of John S. and Gertrude B. Hunter Borick. He was a graduate
of Pennsauken High School. Surviving are his father, also of Pennsauken,
his uncle, Nicholas Borick of Pensacola, Fla., and an aunt, Mary Dempsey
of Dushore. A burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church
with Hieromonk Michael Thier, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be
in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday at Homer’s, 206 Water St., Dushore. There will be a Parastas
service at 7:30. The family will provide the flowers.
Beatrice V. Hunter
PICTURE ROCKS – Beatrice V. Hunter, 89, of 173 Laurel Run St. died
Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville. Her
husband, Fred P. Hunter Sr., died in 1989. She was employed by J.K. Rishel
Furniture Co., Williamsport. She was a member of Picture Rocks United Methodist
Church. She was a member of Lady Hughes Rebekah Lodge 215, Hughesville.
She attended Picture Rocks schools. She enjoyed painting, needlework, hunting
and fishing. Born May 13, 1911 in Nordmont, she was the daughter of Frank
S. and Anna P. Cox Foust. Surviving are a son, Fred P. Hunter Jr. of Picture
Rocks; two sisters, Pauline Phillips and Alberta Fry, both of Picture Rocks;
one grandchild; one stepgrandchild; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. She
was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Laurenson. Graveside services will
be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Picture Rocks Cemetery with the Rev. Barbara
Kaetzel-Row, her pastor, officiating. The family will provide flowers.

Ralph E. Lierheimer
Ralph E. Lierheimer, 90, of 1617 Spring Lane died Saturday, Sept. 2,
2000, at Williamsport Hospital. He and his wife, the former Lillian E.
Doebelin, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary March 4. He was a self-employed
farmer in Rush Hill, Mo., for more than 50 years. He was a member, former
elder and deacon of the Presbyterian Church in Mexico, Mo. He was active
in Missouri Republican politics. Born July 8, 1910, in Benton City, Mo.,
he was a son of Ernest W. and Mary Watts Lierheimer. Surviving, besides
his wife, are a daughter, Sharon A. Castle of Williamsport; two brothers,
Fred and Charles, both of Mexico, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family in East Lawn
Cemetery, Mexico, Mo. Arrangements are being handled by Sanders’, 821 Diamond
LOCK HAVEN – Samuel McClintick, 82, of Salona died Saturday, Sept.
2, 2000, at Susqueview Nursing Center. Arrangements are being handled by

Joseph D. Muthler
MILL HALL — The funeral will be Wednesday for Joseph D. Muthler, 33,
of Campbell Road, who died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, in a traffic accident
on Route 120. He was a heavy equipment operator for Hawbaker of State College.
He was a 1985 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School. He was an Army
veteran. Born March 26, 1967, in Lock Haven, he was a son of William C.
Muthler Sr. of Beech Creek and Judith E. McKinley McCauley of Jersey Shore.
Surviving are his wife, the former Susan C. McCauley; a son, Zachariah
E.; two daughters, Tiffany E. Muthler and Danielle Marshall of Jersey Shore;
two brothers, William C. Jr. and Timothy J.; and two sisters, Rebecca S.
Loner and Ashley E. Muthler, both of Jersey Shore. The funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walker’s, 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev.
Russell Moldovan officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park,
Dunnstable Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m.
and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Robert E. Pepperman
Robert E. “Bobby” Pepperman, 74, formerly of 385 Valley St., DuBoistown,
died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Manor Care North. Born April 20, 1926, in
Williamsport, he was a son of Robert M. and L. Hazel Yearick Pepperman.
Surviving are a brother, Donald R. of Williamsport; two sisters, Doris
V. Myers of Williamsport and Judy A. Quinton of Maitland, Fla. The funeral
will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with
the Rev. James E. Weibley, pastor of DuBoistown United Methodist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Friends

Forest R. Stonge
Forest R. Stonge, 85, of 153 Logan Road, Dillsburg, a former area pastor,
died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, in the Harrisburg Hospital. His wife of 55
years, the former Doris J. Berry, died Sept. 1, 1993. A United Methodist
pastor, he served churches in the Central Pennsylvania Conference, including
at Montgomery and the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore, from
which he retired in 1983. He was a Lycoming College graduate and received
his master of divinity from Wesley Seminary in Washington, D.C. He was
a past president of the Jersey Shore Historical Society. Born April 20,
1915, in Danville, he was a son of Albert B. and the Anna V. Cromley Stonge.
Surviving are three sons, James R. of Mount Lebanon; Gerald R. of Mechanicsburg;
Joseph A. Savadge of Dillsburg; a daughter, Kit Mariah of Guerneville,
Calif.; a sister, Emma McCaffrey of Danville; six grandchildren; and one
great-granddaughter. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in the First
United Methodist Church, 236 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Keith
Rockwell officiating. Burial will be in Grays Cemetery, Stormstown. Friends
may call at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are being

Ethel V. Wittman
Ethel V. Wittman, 85, of Elmira, N.Y., a Montoursville native, died
Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at St. Joseph’s Hospital there. She was the widow
of William Wittman. Born March 31, 1915, she was a daughter of Lloyd and
Anna Simon. Surviving are a son, William of Horseheads, N.Y.; a daughter,
Mary Jane of Elmira, N.Y.; five grandchildren, William Brown, Timothy Brown,
Dawn Fernandez, Derek Wittman and Shannah Kamas; three great-granddaughters;
and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Barr,
and brother, Clarence Simon. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barrett’s,
1004 Lake St., Elmira, N.Y. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at the
convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6
to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
