Dennis Charles Kolasa III
Dennis Charles Kolasa III, 1 month old, of 1015 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born July 27 in Danville, he was a son of Dennis Charles Kolasa Jr. and Bobbi Jo Shope. Surviving, besides his parents, are a sister, Brittany Shope, and a brother, Braxton Shope, both at home; maternal grandmother, Rita Coy of South Williamsport; paternal grandmother, Mary Kolasa of Williamsport; and paternal grandfather, Dennis Kolasa of DuBoistown. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Maneval’s, 500 W. Fourth St. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery RR 2.
 

Whilomean E. Likens
Whilomean E. “Billie” Likens, 68, of 1068 Miller Hill Road, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at home. She and her husband, Robert L. “Shorty” Likens, observed their 45th wedding anniversary April 26. She retired in 1988 from Sylvania, Montoursville. She was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 3428, Muncy; the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 268; and Moose Club Lodge 145 where she was an avid bowler. Born Oct. 9, 1931, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Clarence J. and Mary E. Mayer Tinney. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Edward J. of Ralston and David H. of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Sharon E. Roedts of Warrensville; a sister, Mary “Biz” Breidinger of Trout Run; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William F., this year. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy RR 2, with the Rev. James Sunderland officiating. The family will provide the flowers. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Kaufman’s, 2101 Northway Road.
 

Abram Chad Phillips
Abram Chad Phillips, 29, of 423 Germania St., died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Nashville, Tenn. He was a retail salesperson. He enjoyed traveling and spending time on many beaches. Born May 10, 1971, in this city, he was a son of Daniel C. and Linda J. Whiteman Phillips. Surviving, besides his mother, Linda J. Bussler of South Williamsport and his father and stepmother, Daniel and Donna Phillips at home, are a son, Abram Chad of Danville; a brother, Justin M. of this city; a sister, Tonya Marie Snow in Virginia; paternal grandparents Earl and Beverly Phillips of this city; and maternal grandmother, Ruth Dunkleberger of this city. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sanders’, 821 Diamond St., with Pastor Ronald D. Savits of Newberry Church of Christ officiating. Interment wil be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
 

Elizabeth J. Pulizzi
Elizabeth J. “Betty” Pulizzi, 74, of 1116 Chestnut St., Montoursville, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Sycamore Manor. She and her husband, Phillip N. Pulizzi, observed their 53rd wedding anniversary Aug. 7. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and its Christian Women’s Society. She was a 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a member of the Williamsport Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and she was on the board of directors of the Florence Crittendon Home. Born Feb. 1, 1926, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Luther M. and Martha Frymire Derr. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Phillip N. Jr of Arlington, Va.; two daughters, Louise E. Pulizzi of Bethesda, Md. and Mary Anne Pulizzi of Brussels, Belgium; a sister, Mary L. Bailey; and two grandchildren, Ann Elizabeth Pulizzi and Phillip George Pulizzi. She was predeceased by two brothers, Luther M. and Lester E. Derr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with her pastor, Msgr. Francis J. Castellano, officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St.
 

Edward P. Weiss
MIDDLEBURY CENTER — Edward P. Weiss, 89, of Middlebury Center RD 2, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Carleton Senior Care Home, Wellsboro. His wife, Florence Stuebing Weiss, died in 1974. He retired from A & P Foods in 1973. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1147, Wellsboro and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, doing yard work and feeding wildlife. Born May 2, 1911, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of Frank and Pauline Schmidt Weiss. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth of West Saugerties, N.Y. and Robert of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister, Pauline Weiss of Queens, N.Y.; a brother, Frank of Syracuse, N.Y.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tussey-Mosher’s, 139 Main St., Wellsboro, with the Rev. Michael J. Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Middlebry Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday.
 

Iva G. Zerby
Iva G. Zerby, 88, of 1201 Rural Ave., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Roseview Center. Her husband, James W. Zerby Sr., died July 28. She was a member of the Good News Ministry in Linden. Born June 4, 1912, in Morris, she was a daughter of Lucian J. and Dora May Whitten Buckingham. Surviving are a son, James W. Jr. of Linden; a daughter, Mary J. Pellacore of Allenwood; two sisters, Laura Knarr of this city and Lelabel Gardner of Monroeton; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Carl Everett Ranck; a daughter, Gretta Rubin; seven sisters and two brothers. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Citychurch, 36 E. Fourth St., with her son, the Rev. James W. Zerby Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Trout Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. James E. Frailey
James E. Frailey, 90, formerly of 1012 Cherry St., died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Valley View Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. He and his wife, the former Marian L. Page, observed their 65th wedding anniversary April 18. He retired in 1975 as an assistant manager of the commercial printing division of Grit Publishing Co. He previously was employed as an assistant manager at the former Capitol Theatre and the former Keystone Theatre. He was a 1930 graduate of Williamsport High School. He served during World War II as a housing coordinator for employees of the former Pennsylvania Ordinance Works, White Deer, and was a supervisor of communications when the ordinance closed. He was a member of the Young Men’s Republican Club. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and served on its council and other church committees and was a Boy Scout coordinator. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Born May 25, 1910, in this city, he was a son of Edwin V. and Laura Mae Fausey Frailey. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, James E. Jr. of Jaffrey, N.H.; a daughter, Ann P. Conrad of Hagerstown, M.D.; two grandchildren, Denise Magruder and Karen White; and a grandson. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Victor. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in the church, 1400 Market St., with his pastor, the Rev. James H. Fladland officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will provide the flowers. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave.
 

Margaret K. Patterson
Margaret Katheryn Patterson, 60, of 21 Hoover St. died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at home. She and her husband, Harry Patterson, observed their 32nd wedding anniversary July 29. She was a teller at Soverign Bank, Montoursville. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Lock Haven. She was a volunteer at the Cancer Treatment Center. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and was active in several church groups including the church choir. Born Sept. 19, 1939, in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of Raymond and Elsie Croak. Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Tammy Stacy in Georgia and Melinda Bower of this city; a sister, Alice Miller of Lock Haven; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Ann in 1965; and two brothers, Perry and Raymond Croak. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church, 89 Kimball Hill Road, with her pastor, the Rev. Thomas C. Fiddle, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Ruth R. Pfeiffer
Ruth R. Pfeiffer, 88, formerly of 2079 Blair St., died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in Sycamore Manor following a brief illness. Her husband, Charles F. Pfeiffer, died in 1993. She was a member of Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church. Born Sept. 27, 1911, in this city, she was a daughter of Bert P. and Ida M. Everett Frymire. Surviving are a daughter, Ann P. Gehrig of this city; a sister, Eleanor Caldwell of this city; three grandchildren, Robert S. and James C. Gehrig and Elizabeth Ann Gottleib; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald O. Doan officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Fritz Etta Yoxtheimer
JERSEY SHORE — Fritz Etta Yoxtheimer, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in Jersey Shore Hospital. She was married to James H. Yoxtheimer Sr. She was a member of the First United Church. She was a member of the Jersey Shore Elks Auxiliary. Born Jan. 23, 1933, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of Fredrick C. and Ellen L. Middlesworth Bower. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, James H. Jr. of Avis and Fredrick of Jersey Shore; two daughters, Linda Yoxtheimer of Levitton and Ellen Keegan of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; a brother, Robert Bower of Elysburg; a sister, Jean Yost of Sunbury; and four grandchildren. A private family service will be held at Welker’s, 125 N. Main St.
