Isabelle Balliet
Former Resident 
Isabelle Balliet, a former resident of Mountain Top, died March 24 at the Birchwood Health Care Center in Liverpool, New York.
She was born in Scranton on June 10, 1915, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Wozniak) Babarsky. She had resided in Mountaintop for over 40 years.
Mrs. Balliet was a member of St. Jude’s R. C. Church, its Altar and Rosary Society, and participated in numerous church groups and activities.
Prior to retirement, she was an assembly worker for the Dana Perfume Corporation at the Crestwood Industrial Park, Mountain Top. She resided in New York for the past six years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, in 1987; son Robert, in 2000; also by her brothers, Fred and Francis Babarsky, and sister Helen Golembeski.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Stirling) Balliet, Baldwinsville, New York; grandchildren, Eric and Wendy Balliet; sisters, Mary Guzzior, Scranton, and Amelia Malcolm, Exton.
Funeral services were held from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 South Mountain Boulevard, Mountain Top.

E. Charlotte Borelli
White Haven Resident 
E. Charlotte Borelli, 53, of Kidder Township, White Haven, died June 17 in Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Church Street Campus, Hazleton.
She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late John and Edna Hancharak Minnar.
She resided in Florida for a few years before moving to the White Haven area. She was a member of the American Cancer Society.
She was preceded in death by sister, Josephine Kelly.
Surviving are husband, Robert, at home; son, Robert Jr., Croydon; daughters, Angela Paluch, Florida; Amanda, White Haven; five grandchildren; brothers, John, Levittown; Joseph and Eddie, both of Philadelphia; sisters, Agnes Jansen, Blackwood, N.J.; Midge, Philadelphia. 

Anna D. Chesney
Mountaintop Resident 
Anna D. Romanaski Chesney, of Mountain Top, devoted wife of the late Joseph M. Chesney Jr.; mother of Dr. Anne M. Chesney; great-aunt of Attorney Wendy Bogle; great-great aunt of Blair Bogle, completed her journey on earth and returned to God’s kingdom on June 21.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke.
Interment will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Muhlenberg.
Friends may call Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc., 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth. 

Ann Buczkowski
Slocum Twp. Resident
Ann Buczkowski of Slocum Township, died April 16 in Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Wanamie, daughter of the late Thomas and Sophia Russin Kantor and attended local schools.
Mrs. Buczkowski was employed as a beautician and assisted her husband in his contracting business. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke and its Women’s Society, West Side Flower Club and Nanticoke Lions.
Her husband, John, died in 1983. Brothers, John, Joseph and Alex, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are sisters, Stacia Pelczar, Slocum; Josephine Micalkowski, Jersey City, NJ; nieces and nephews, including Lois Baron, her caregiver.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Wyatt Joseph Deets
Infant Son
Wyatt Joseph Deets, infant son of Brad Deets Sr. and Gerri Sabonos Deets, Dorrance Township, died at birth April 18 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Brad Jr. and Josh, both at home; grandparents, Earl and Dolores Balliet Deets, Dorrance Township; Joyce Moyer, Wright Township; great-grandmother, Beatrice Moyer, of Wright Township.
Private funeral was held at the convenience of the family from McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top.

Genevieve Wood
White Haven Resident
Genevieve Wood, 74, of East Side Borough, White Haven, died April 19 at home.
She was born in Sandy Run, daughter of the late Metro and Helen Homick Sowa.
A life resident of the White Haven area, Mrs. Wood was employed as a nurses aide and in the local garment industry. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Freeland.
Brothers, John and Joseph, and sisters, Julia Radjavitch, Mary, and Helen, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Clyde; sons, David, White Haven; Clyde Jr., Catonsville, Maryland; daughters, Joan Swerdon, White Haven; Janice Kavounas, Macungie; 10 grandchildren; brother, George, Florida.

Chester P. Zabinski
World War II Veterans
Chester P. Zabinski, 78, of Dorrance Township died April 21 at home.
He was born July 19, 1922, in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Michael and Kathryn Zabinski, and was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Germany.
Before retiring in 1985, Mr. Zabinski was employed as a welding supervisor by Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Crestwood Industrial Park, and previously as a welder by Sun Ship Building, Chester, and ACF Industries, Berwick.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Dorrance Township; American Legion Post 781, Mountain Top; VFW, White Haven; Dorrance Township Volunteer Fire Company, serving as an EMT; and served as emergency services coordinator for Dorrance Township.
Sisters, Mary Zabinski, Anna Lenahan, Helen Minton, Sophie Ferentz and Clara Zabinski, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Rose Pfaffenzeller; daughters, Isolde Youkoski and Carolyn Zabinski, both of Dorrance Township; sisters, Julia Yerabek, Deland, Fla.; Betty Worman, Mountain Top; brothers, John, Dorrance Township; Joseph, Dallas; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.

Electra O’Donnell
Former Mayor
Electra O’Donnell, 88, of White Haven died April 21 at home.
She was born in Arcadia, VA, daughter of the late Milton and Rose Keiper Sipler, and resided most of her life in White Haven area.
She was a former Justice of the Peace and District Magistrate for 32 years.
She also formerly served as White Haven mayor and a member of White Haven Council and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, White Haven.
Husband, Charles, died in 1984; daughter; Roseann Timinski, in 1994.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Jean) Reinhart, Wyalusing; Katie O’Donnell, White Haven; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
