Mrs. Russel F. Scheirer
 Mrs. Melba M. Scheirer, 84, of 645 Hahn's Dairy Road, Palmerton, died 
Sunday in Palmerton Hospital. She was the wife of Russel F. Scheirer. They 
observed their 63rd wedding anniversary last November She was an 
organist and choir director for 40 years before retiring in 1990. 
Previously she was a clerk at Palmerton Hospital and an office manager 
for Palmerton Dairy.

Morgan infant
 Thomas David Morgan, son of Thomas A. Morgan and Paula S. 
Holderman, both of Slatington, was stillborn Sunday in Palmerton Hospital.

Mrs. Oscar G. Kimble
 Mrs. Irene S. Kimble, 86,of 414 Arlington St., Tamaqua, formerly of 
East Norriton, Montgomery County, died Monday in Hometown Nursing 
Center, Tamaqua R.2. She was the wife of Oscar G. Kimble. They observed 
their 59th wedding anniversary in May. A registered nurse,she worked at 
the Fairview Nursing Home, Roxborough, Philadelphia County, before 
retiring in 1976.

George E. Callan
 George E. Callan, 76, of 109 Valley St., Brockton, died Tuesday in 
Hazleton General Hospital. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Blickley) 

Lewis C. Copeland
 Lewis C. Copeland, 95, ex-chief of the chemical section of the 
former New Jersey Zinc Co., Palmerton, died on Aug. 17 in his Marblehead, 
Mass., home. He was the husband of K. Frances (Pitcher) Copeland. They 
were married 66 years. He began his employment with the Zinc Co. in 1930 
and retired in 1964.

John J. Nicholson
 John J. "Jack" Nicholson, 69, of Mount Laurel, N.J., formerly of 
Moosic, Lackawanna County, and Merchantville, N.J., died Saturday in his 
summer home in Jim Thorpe. He was the husband of Lorraine (Walsh) 
Nicholson. He was employed by RCA in Moorestown, N.J., before retiring.

George E. Callan
 George E. Callan, 76, of 109 Valley St., Brockton, died Tuesday in the 
Hazleton General Hospital. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Blickley) 
Callan. He was a mailman for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring , and 
was also an area guitar teacher for many years.

Mrs. Peter P. Schneider Sr.
 Mrs. Effie D. "Dannye" Schneider, 73, formerly of Northampton, died 
Tuesday in the Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center I, Bethlehem. She 
was the wife of Peter P. Schneider Sr. She was a loan officer for the 
former Cement National Bank, Northampton, before retiring in 1985.

Eugene P. Ahner
 Eugene P. Ahner, 74, of 307 Stone Mountain Road, Lehighton, died 
Sunday in his home. He was the husband of the late Grace (German) Ahner. 
He was last employed as a caster and metal molder for the Penn Dixie 
Company, Bath.

Mrs. Nicholas Bartolacci
 Mrs. Delia Bartolacci, 75, of Palmer Township, died Tuesday in the 
Easton Hospital. She was the wife of Nicholas Bartolacci. They observed 
their 51st wedding anniversary in May.

Vincent A. Melusky
 Vincent A. Melusky, 73, of 222 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, died Tuesday in 
Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband of Charlotte 
C. (Rigotte) Melusky. He was last employed as a machinist at Hahn Motors, 
Hamburg, Berks County, having retiring in 1970.

 Michael Trudich, 81, of 602 Arlington St., Tamaqua, died Wednesday 
in his home. He was last employed by the former Winton Coal Company, 

Mrs. Ella M. Griffith
 Mrs. Ella M. Griffith, 89, of 384 Long Lane Road, Treichlers, died 
Tuesday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the 
widow of Robert F. Griffith.

Leroy W. Benner
 Leroy W. Benner, 87, of Lehigh Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation 
Center, Lower Macungie Township, formerly of Emmaus, died Tuesday in 
the home. He was an operator for ribbon mills in the Lehigh Valley for 
many years before retiring.

Mrs. Gertrude J. Ryan Scott
 Mrs. Gertrude J. Ryan Scott, 68, of 2854 Welshtown Road, Slatington, 
died Friday in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Walter 
G. Scott and Joseph J. Ryan. She owned and oeprated the Anchor Hotel, 
Walnutport, from 1972 to 1991.

John V. Stefancik
 John V. Stefancik of 64 W. Miner St., (Seek), Coaldale, died this 
morning in Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband 
of Marie (Starry) Stefancik. He had been employed by Lehigh Coal and 
Navigation Co., Coaldale Colliery, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike 
Commission, Slatington Maintenance Division. A veteran of World War II, 
he served with the U.S. Army's 13th Airborne Division, 88th Regiment, in 
the European theater of operations.

Mrs. Marion T. Provin
 Mrs. Marion T. Provin, 87, of the Mahoning Valley Retirement Villas, 
Lehighton, died Monday in Palmerton Hospital. She was the wife of the late 
Robert A. Provin. 

Charles Vlossak
 Charles Vlossak, 101, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of 
Washington, N.J., and Palmerton died Friday in the Imperial Point Hospital, 
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was the husband of Rose (Oravec) Vlossak. They 
were married 73 years. He owned and operated a beverage company in 
Washington for 20 years before retiring in 1963.

Harry F. Reaser
 Harry F. Reaser, 45, of 2481 Forest St., Wilson, died Saturday in 
Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (Nuttall) Reaser. They 
observed their 23rd wedding anniversary last October. He worked for Bell 
& Howell Co., Allentown, for two years before retiring on disability in 
July. Previously he was employed in construction. He was an Army veteran 
of the Vietnam War.

Alma M. Smith
 Alma M. Smith, 71, of 638 Franklin Ave., Palmerton, died suddenly on 
Sunday in Palmerton Hospital. 

Benson G. Yaich
 Benson G. Yaich, 79, of 999 Frew Run Road, Frewsburg, N.Y., formerly 
of Tobyhanna, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Marjorie 
(Freemen) Yaich. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary in March. 
He worked for the Sun Oil Co., Marcus Hook, Delaware County before 
retiring in 1972.

James C. Stafford
 James C. Stafford, 81, of Saylorsburg R.3, died Monday in his home. 
He was the husband of Nancy J.B. (Banfield) Stafford. They observed their 
46th wedding anniversary last October. He was a research engineer at 
Ingersoll-Rand Co., Phillipsburg, N.J., for 10 years before retiring in 1980, 
and previously had worked for the Dixie Cup Co., Easton, for six years, and 
Electric Boat, Groton, Conn., for three years.

Eugene G. Cameline Sr.
 Eugene G. "Gino" Cameline Sr., 84, of 163 S. Cherry St., Nazareth, died 
Monday in his home. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Kuchavick) 
Cameline, who died in 1990. He was an electrician for the International 
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 367, Easton, before retiring in 
1976. Carmeline was a veteran.

Mrs. Harry C. Fetterman
 Mrs. Norma D. Fetterman, 69, of 200 High St., Tamaqua, died Sunday 
in Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the wife of Harry C. 
Fetterman. She taught junior high school in the Lehighton Area School 
District for 29 years before retiring in 1991, and previously was a 
teacher for two years in the Tunkhannock School District and a substitute 
teacher in the Tamaqua Area School District for five years.

Frank Skymba
 Frank Skymba, 76, of 112 W. High St., Coaldale, died Monday in his 
home. He was the husband of Joan E. (Daubenspeck) Skymba. Prior to 
retiring he was employed by Bob Waice Plumbing and Heating, Coaldale. 
Previously he was employed at the Camden Ship Yards, Philadelphia, as a 
welder. Skymba was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mrs. Sylvia S. Martin
 Mrs. Sylvia S. Martin, 89, formerly of Tamaqua died Saturday morning 
at Luther Acres, Lititz. She was the widow of the Rev. Gilbert J. Martin 
who died in December 1978. She taught elementary school in the Bangor 
School District for six years and was a substitute teacher for 10 years in 
the Lancaster School District and for five years in the Shikellamy School 
District, Sunbury.

Mrs. Fay A. Sheckler
 Mrs. Fay A. Sheckler, 69, of 101 S. First St., Lehighton, died Saturday 
morning in Suburban General Hospital, Norristown. She was the widow of 
Robert Sheckler, who died in 1990.

John H. Donnelly Jr.
 John H. Donnelly Jr., 61, of Greentown, Pike County, died Saturday in 
St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Patricia R. (Marone) 
Donnelly. They observed their 40th Wedding anniversary in July. He worked 
for Mineral Technologies Inc., formerly the Phizer Co., Easton, and the 
former C.K. Williams Co., Easton, for nearly 38 years before retiring last 
year. Donnelly was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Roland A. Almonti Sr.
 Roland A. Almonti Sr., 63, of Allentown died Friday in Lehigh Valley 
Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Meyers) Almonti. 
They observed their 40th wedding anniversary last November. He was 
employed in the maintenance department of Mack Trucks Inc. for 27 years 
beginning at the 5-C Plant, Allentown, and retiring from the Macungie 
plant in 1992. Almonti was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a 
life member of VFW Post 9264, Macungie.

Mrs. William L. Vogel
 Mrs. Catherine M. "Kitty" Vogel, 72, of Allentown, died Sunday in 
Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of William L. Vogel. 
They observed their 46th wedding anniversary last November. She was a 
billing clerk in the advertising department of The Morning Call, Allentown, 
for four years during the 1950s.

Rev. Frederick J. Loeper
 The Rev. Frederick J. Loeper, 68, pastor of Notre Dame of Bethlehem 
Catholic Church, died Saturday in the rectory where he resided. He studied 
for the priesthood at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia, and 
was ordained on May 10, 1956, by the late Archbishop John F. O'Hara in the 
Philadelphia Church of the Immaculate Conception. The Rev. Loeper was 
assistant pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Coaldale, 1956-
1957; St. Helena Church, Center Square, Berks County, 1957-1959; Sacred 
Heart of Jesus Church, Allentown, 1959-1966; and Our Lady of Perpetual 
Help Church, Bethlehem Township, 1966-1969. He was named pastor of St. 
Catharine of Siene Church, Mount Penn, Berks County, in 1969 becoming 
pastor of Notre Dame Church in 1984.

Rev. Joseph L. Evrard
 The Rev. Joseph L. Evrard, 73, of 4104 Sand Springs Dr., 
Schnecksville, died Saturday in his home. he was the husband of Anna M. 
(Stumpp) Evrard. They observed their 44th wedding anniversary in May. A 
Lutheran pastor, he served the Butler-Corunna Parish, Butler, Ind., from 
1953-1955; Trinity Lutheran Church, Darby, Delaware County, 1955-1960; 
St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Reading, 1961-1968; Incarnation Lutheran 
Church, Reading, 1968; Incarnation Lutheran Church, Reading, 1068; St. 
Peter Lutheran Church, Trexlertown, 1973-82; Kempton-Stony Run 
Lutheran Parish, Kempton, 1982-1986; and St. Paul Lutheran Church, 
Cementon, 1987-1995. The deceased was an Army veteran of World War II, 
having served with the Signal Corps in the Pacific theater of operations.

Mrs. Lillian V. Ripkey
 Mrs. Lillian V. Ripkey of 193 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, died Tuesday in 
her home. She was the widow of Walter G. Ripkey, who died Nov. 14, 1976. 
She worked for Hofford Mills, Weissport, for six years.

Edward J. Moyer
 Edward J. Moyer, 39, of 724 Bridge St., Lehighton, was pronounced 
dead on arrival Friday at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He 
was a concrete finisher for various contractors.

Mrs. Dorothy M. Bilder
 Mrs. Dorothy M. Bilder of 114 Broad St., Ashland, formerly of 
Tamaqua, died Aug. 26 in Ashland Regional Medical Center. She was the 
widow of Robert E. Bilder, who died in 1987. Prior to retiring in 1988 she 
was employed as a registered nurse at the former Ashland State Hospital.

Sister M. Rose Leo
 Sister M. Rose Leo, O.S.F., 82, of the Assisi House, 600 Red Hill Road, 
Aston, Delaware County, died Monday in the home. She was a registered

 Helen Billera, 84, of 515 N. 20th St., Allentown, died Monday in the 
Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. 

Larry R. Fisher
 Larry R. Fisher, 47, of Saylorsburg, formerly of Catasauqua, died 
Monday in his home. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Peischl) 
Fisher. He was a laborer for building contractors in Monroe and Lehigh 
counties for the past 12 years. Fisher was an Army veteran of the Vietnam 

Mrs. Stella L. Kovach
 Mrs. Stella L. Kovach, 79, formerly of Allentown, died Monday in 
Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township. She was the widow of John P. 

Mrs. Mary A. Haldeman
 Mrs. Mary A. Haldeman, 83, of 719 N. First St., Lehighton, died 
Tuesday in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the wife 
of the late James H. Haldeman who died Dec. 2, 1976.

Mrs. Jean M. Evans
 Mrs. Jean M. Evans, 79, of Heights Nursing Home, Shenandoah, 
formerly of Middleport, died Wednesday in Ashland Regional Medical 
Center, Ashland. She was the widow of Elmer Evans. Prior to retiring she 
was employed by Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, as a licensed 
practical nurse.
