Naomi Eileen Keplinger
The graveside service for Naomi Eileen Keplinger will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenhaven Garden in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. The Rev. Dr. William McDonald of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Keplinger, 92, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (Nov. 13, 2001) at Highland House.

She was born Feb. 27, 1909, in Van Wyck, Idaho, a daughter of Lewis and Clara Thornton. She moved to Medford in 1939 from Boise, Idaho, and spent the last eight years living in Grants Pass. On Nov. 20, 1950, in San Francisco, she married Adison Martin Keplinger, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Keplinger was a homemaker. She was a seasonal worker for Southern Oregon Sales for 20 years, and was a caregiver and housekeeper for Mrs. Ralph Blakely for 27 years.
She enjoyed flowers.
Survivors include a son, James Thomas, Grants Pass; three sisters, Ruth Walker, Eagle, Idaho, and Mary Holt and Betty Bischoff, both Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dale Owen Webb
The funeral service for Dale Owen Webb will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Bishop Ron Wells of the Gold Hill Ward, Central Point Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate.
Mr. Webb, 71, of Gold Hill, died Nov. 7, 2001, at Hearthstone.
He was born May 25, 1930, in Riverside, Calif., a son of Alma I. and Ethel L. (Gibson) Webb. He attended Laurel Home Grade School, Bear Creek Crossing and graduated from Creswell High School in Oregon. On July 13, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, he married Sallie E. Eriksson, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1964 from California.
Mr. Webb was a general building contractor.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1948 to 1949 with the 807th Engineer Aviation Battalion at Ladd Air Force Base, Fairbanks, Alaska, Alaskan Air Command.
Mr. Webb was an active member of the LDS Church.
He enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, David, Logan, Utah; three daughters, Virginia Fogle, Marysville, Calif., Susan McClellan, Alexandria, Va., and Karin Barrientez, Garland, Utah; two brothers, Ronald, in South Carolina, and Raymond, Santa Clara, Utah; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Anna T. Olson
The funeral service for Anna T. Olson will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church in Medford. Pastor Robert Larson will officiate.
Ms. Olson, 91, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 12, 2001) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born July 20, 1910, in Ashby, Minn., a daughter of Joseph and Sophia Olson. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1977 from the Bay Area. Ms. Olson managed retail stores in the Bay Area.
She was a member of the Medford Rose Society and an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
Ms. Olson was a watercolor artist and photographer. She enjoyed rose gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include a brother, Fred, Escondido, Calif.; and a sister, Helen Gregory, Medford. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Franz, Arnold and Edward Olson.

Sharon Francis Wight, 75, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Nov. 13, 2001) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Jerry M. Rusho
The funeral service for Jerry M. Rusho will be at noon Monday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Interment will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Rusho, 28, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Nov. 21, 2001) in an automobile accident in Central Point.
He was born Oct. 5, 1973, in Medford and was a lifelong Rogue Valley resident.
Mr. Rusho was a heating and air conditioning installer.
He served as a chaplain's assistant in the U.S. Navy on the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Persian Gulf after the Gulf War. He also served five years in the Navy Reserves in Central Point.
Mr. Rusho was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford and the Medford Eagles Aerie No. 2093.
He enjoyed bowling, playing softball and horseback riding.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Linda Lee and Darrell Miller, Bend; his father, Larry Rusho, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Sara Rusho, Phoenix, Ariz.; three stepbrothers, David Miller, Grants Pass, DeWayne Miller, Salem, and Dennis Miller, Bend; a stepsister, Ronata Staten, Fort Jackson, S.C.; and his grandmothers, Joyce Rusho, Phoenix, Ariz., and Florence Wissinger, Central Point.

Robert K. Rasmussen
The funeral service for Robert K. Rasmussen will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Rasmussen, 81, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Nov. 21, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born June 17, 1920, in Chicago, the son of Robert K. and Violet (Olsen) Rasmussen. On Aug. 16, 1945, in Florence, Italy, he married Marisa Batistoni. They divorced in 1963.
Mr. Rasmussen worked in sales most of his career. He lived in Portland from 1946 to 1957, then moved to Southern California where he lived until 1999. He moved to Ashland two years ago.
During World War II, he served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy.
Mr. Rasmussen was fluent in Italian. He enjoyed languages, travel, cooking and reading.
Survivors include three sons, Robert, Ashland, Richard, Lake Oswego, and Kurt, Tigard; a daughter Karen, Portland; and four grandchildren.

Charles 'Chuck' E. Currier
The memorial service for Charles "Chuck" E. Currier will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church, 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford. The Rev. Tim Tiffany will officiate.
Mr. Currier, 59, of Medford, died Nov. 15, 2001, in an automobile accident in Klamath Falls.

Martha Stephens Williams
Martha Stephens Williams, 93, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (Nov. 20, 2001) at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation in Grants Pass. Private interment will be in Tennessee.
She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of William and Martha Stephens.
In 1953, she moved to Europe where her husband, Eugene Williams, was stationed with the military. They returned to the United States in 1959 and retired to McEven, Tenn. Mr. Williams died in 1961.
Mrs. Williams moved to Chugiak, Alaska, in 1982, to be near her daughter. She moved to Grants Pass. in 1988.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Waverly Place Methodist Church in Nashville, Tenn.
Survivors include a daughter, Lu McGuinn, Grants Pass; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marie H. Dahl

Mrs. Dahl, 89, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 23, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born March 28, 1912, in Grand Forks, N.D., a daughter of Charles and Amelia Nilson. She graduated from North Star College in Minnesota. On May 5, 1956, at Unity Temple in Reno, Nev., she married Roy W. Dahl, who survives.
Mrs. Dahl was an emergency room receptionist at Providence Medford Medical Center for many years.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Reams Chapter No. 66 in Medford for more than 40 years, and held many leadership positions.
Mrs. Dahl enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a brother, Robert Nelson; three sisters, Minnie Amundson, Lorraine Roppe and Bulla Olson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ivadell; and a brother, Edwin.

Carl Robert Koons Jr.

Mr. Koons, 62, of Shady Dove, died Friday (Nov. 23, 2001) at his home.

He was born July 28, 1939, in San Fernando, Calif., the son of Carl and Emily Koons.
Mr. Koons was a printer for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Koons, Shady Cove; two daughters, Gena Keetly, Shady Cove and Leslie Jones, Littleton, Colo.; a son, Chief Petty Officer Karl Robert Coons III, Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Margaret Henly, Los Angeles, and Louise Johnson, San Jose, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

H. 'Edward' Perkins

Mr. Perkins, 94, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 22, 2001) at his home.

He was born June 30, 1907, in Los Angeles, the son of Homer and Saddie Perkins. On Aug. 31, 1946, in Las Vegas, he married Eugenia Humphrey, who died in 1999. They moved to the Rogue Valley in the early 1980s from Las Vegas.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the First Church of God.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Meano, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a sister, Edith Lindell, Medford; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a grandson.

Margaret 'Peggy' Hunter Godsey Ponting

Mrs. Ponting, 91, of Grants Pass, died Nov. 17, 2001, at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 7, 1910, in Chicago. She grew up in Pasadena, Calif., and graduated from Occidental College in Pasadena. In 1937, in Salinas, Calif., she married C. Donald Godsey, who died in 1968. On April 1, 1976, in Mendocino, Calif., she married C. David Ponting, who died in 1986. She moved to Grants Pass in 1976.
Mrs. Ponting was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter AG, the Grants Pass Lions Club and the Presbyterian Women.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Salinas, Calif., and Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grants Pass, and served as organist at both churches.
Survivors include a son, David Godsey, Discovery Bay, Calif.; a stepson, Claude Ponting, Longmont, Colo.; three stepdaughters, Donna Pueschel, Vancouver, Wash., Rosa Lee Wapstra, Marysville, Wash., and Elaine Jones, West Linn; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Godsey.

Judith Marie Self

Mrs. Self, 58, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 24, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born May 11, 1943, in Long Beach, Calif., the daughter of John George and Mary Evelyn Johnson Hull. She attended Grants Pass High School. On July 26, 1960, in Reno, Nev., she married Raymond Roy Self, who survives.
Mrs. Self owned Judy's Doll Shop in Medford.
She enjoyed trips to the coast and making porcelain dolls.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Timothy, Medford, and Danny, Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Cheryl Vinson, White City; three brothers, Larry Hull, Phoenix, Samuel Hull, Stockton, Calif., and Terry Hull, Woodburn; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a brother, John Hull; and her parents, Mary Briggs and John Hull.

Dorothy Ruth Melton

Mrs. Melton, 83, of Rogue River, died Thursday (Nov. 22, 2001) at her home.
She was born Dorothy Ruth Ward on March 4, 1918, in Grass Range, Mont. She grew up with four brothers and a sister in Oildale, Calif. She raised her family in Oxnard, Calif., and moved to Walker, Calif., following the death of her first husband, Cecil Colcord, in 1967. She moved to Rogue River from Coleville, Calif., in 1980 after the death of her second husband, Elsworth Melton. She also lived in Grants Pass for a time.
Mrs. Melton was a bookkeeper for a well-drilling company. She also prepared taxes.
She was a member of the Mother Church of Christ Scientist.
Mrs. Melton enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, crocheting and church.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Fallon, Rogue River, Cyndi Scott, Grants Pass, and Barbara Yakesch, Temple, Texas; a son, Clayton Colcord, Clearlake, Calif.; a sister, Lillian Murrison, Modesto, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Colcord.

Edwina G. 'Jakie' Russell
The memorial service for Edwina G. "Jakie" Russell will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Shady Cove.
Mrs. Russell, 83, of Shady Cove, died Saturday (Nov. 24, 2001) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Eureka, Calif. On Oct. 6, 1953, in Eureka, she married Lester W. Russell, who survives. They moved to Oregon in 1954 from California.
Mrs. Russell was a minister of the Jehovah's Witnesses for 43 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Shirley West, Eagle Point; a son, Albert "Bumps" Jackson, in Mexico; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jacob Williams Freeman
Jacob Williams Freeman, infant son of Joseph Wayne Freeman and Angela Plummer Malin of Medford, died Nov. 20, 2001, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Jacob was born Nov. 20, 2001, in Medford.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include three brothers, Todd Malin, Dillon Malin and Christopher Freeman, all Medford; his grandparents, Caroline Plummer, Medford, and Larry and Nadine Freeman, Grants Pass; and his great-grandparents, William and Arwilla Williams, Salem.

Maureen F. Preskenis
Maureen F. Preskenis, 58, of Ashland, died Friday (Nov. 23, 2001) at her home. The memorial service will be held in New York.

She was born July 10, 1943, in Brockton, Mass., a daughter of John and Julia Noonan. On Nov. 20, 1965, in Stoughton, Mass., she married Richard Joseph Preskenis, who died in 1999. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 2000 from Adams, N.Y.
Mrs. Preskenis enjoyed volunteering as a medic on an ambulance squad, spending time with her grandchildren, helping others and laughing.
Survivors include four sons, Bob, Jay, Todd and Dan; two daughters, Karen and Kate; three brothers, Butch, John and Eyre; three sisters, Patty, Julie and Fran; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, who also died on Nov. 23.

Lucile S. Weber, 93, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 26, 2001) in Medford. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
She was born Nov. 15, 1908, in Springfield. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1926. On Sept. 3, 1927, she married Benjamin Weber, who died in 1985.
The Webers owned and operated the Dexter Store and Post Office. Mrs. Weber retired as the postmaster of the Dexter Post Office. She moved to Medford from the Springfield and Dexter area.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Larry D. Sprague, Medford, and Teresa J. Hodson, Sisters; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Joann Sprague.
