| Clarence Gilbert
Agra resident, Clarence E. Gilbert, 74, died Monday, March 26, 2001, in Agra. Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Lawson Cemetery north of Yale. Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing is directing the arrangements. He was born in Yale Jan. 1, 1927, to Cecil and Julia (Jardot) Gilbert. He lived his early years in Yale where his mother and stepfather Frank Stewart raised him as a Stewart. When he was 17 he joined the Navy and had to take back the Gilbert name. On Feb. 5, 1947, he married Earline McCartney. He served overseas during World War II. In 1951 he joined the Marine Corps and served at Camp Pendleton, Calif. After the Marine Corps he served in the Army Reserve. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was commander of American Legion Post 108 in Cushing. He was a construction worker and lived many places during his life. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, James, of the home
and Callen, of Agra; four daughters, Reta Slay, of Cushing, Judy Choate
of Sunrise, Fla., Kathy Ragland, of Artesia, N.M. and Susan Fugate, of
Agra; two sisters, Betty Rowland, of Cushing and Jean Tilley, of Ramona;
and 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives
and friends.

She was born Dec. 20, 1929, to Derrill E. Cardin and Fannie Belle (Wolfe) Cardin in Cushing. She was married to E.C. Chaffey. She was reared and educated in Cushing and later in Schenectady, New York. She returned to Cushing in 1996 after being away for 50 years. She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Charles Green; and one sister, Deloris. She is survived by one sister, Glenna Thomas of Golden Valley, Ariz.;
several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lawson Cemetery in Yale. Rev. Mike Clark will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home. Shenold was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Quay to Notsee Shenold and Mable Mae (Charlton) Shenold. He married Stella Mae (Sneed) Shenold Jan. 1, 1939, in Hallett. To this marriage, Shenold had three sons, Melvin Edward Shenold, Dale Roy Shenold and Thomas Keith Shenold. He later married Floy K. (Reese) Shenold Aug. 30, 1987, in Stillwater. Shenold was a lifetime resident of Pawnee County. He was a Hallett Baptist Church and a Mason. Shenold was a widely known coyote hunter and dog breeder. He had the National Champion July at one time and had judged the National July Hunt. He served as Pawnee County Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff for many years. He was a farmer and rancher all his life and loved the horse and cattle business. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vina Adkison; brother, Melvin Shenold; and a grandson Chism Keith Shenold. Shenold is survived by his first wife, Stella Shenold, Jennings; second wife, Floy Shenold, Jennings; three sons, Dale Shenold and wife Judy, Yale; Tom Shenold and wife Robbie, Stillwater; Melvin Shenold, Hallett; two step-sons, Jerry Wilson and wife Darlene, Stillwater; Johnny Wilson and wife Judy, Enid; step-daughter, Kay Trivitt; brother, Oran Ray Shenold, Glencoe, plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Michelle Kropp
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ninde Funeral Home in Tulsa. Kropp was born March 2, 1963, in Tulsa to Mary Jo Gray Kropp (Klabzuba) and Michael Owen Kropp. She grew up in Tulsa and Sand Springs. Kropp moved to Stillwater in 1987. She received her education from Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, the Faith Class Member, and was a part of the Stillwater Group Homes since 1987. Kropp worked at Hideaway Pizza and the Payne County Sheltered Workshop. She is survived by her mother, Mary Jo Klabzuba and husband Charles, Broken Arrow; father, Michael Kropp and wife Judy Kropp, San Clemente, Calif.; brothers, Michael Kropp and family, Braggs; and Christopher Kropp and family, Tulsa. Kropp is also survived by residents and staff of Stillwater Group Homes and many, many friends. Memorials can be made to the Judith Karman Hospice, Faith Class or First United Methodist Church. She was born in Sapulpa July 11, 1929, to Josh and Igetta (Green) Callaway. She married Joseph Johnson. On Jan. 11, 1970, she married Cornelius (Bootney) Bell in Pawnee. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She began working at the Pawnee Municipal Hospital in 1968 and retired in 1982. She later returned to part time work and worked in housekeeping until she became a nurse’s aide. She used good judgment, always did her share of work, was loved and respected by her fellow workers, doctors, friends and especially her family. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, going to basketball games and watching her children and grandchildren. She also loved to bake for her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, two husbands, grandsons, step-daughter, Lurline Seyillano, and step-sisters, Betty and Susan Elston. Survivors include four daughters, Tammy Bell Todd, Kathrine “Kitty”
Stewart, both of Pawnee, Ella Johnson, of Stillwater, and LeAnn Bell, of
Winfield, Kan.; four sons, Cornelius Bell, of Wichita, Kan., Terry Johnson,
William “Skzzie” Johnson and James Johnson, all of Pawnee; step-children,
Chris Bell, of Pawnee, Joshua Bell, of Wichita, Kan., Quilla Dean Bell,
of S.C., Lois Powell, of Wichita, Kan. and Willie Davis, of Pawnee; grandchildren,
Gary, Garland, Gabe Stewart, of Pawnee, Candi Johnson, of Stillwater, Crystal,
Terra, Marcus, Marquitta, of Tulsa, Terri Johnson, of Cleveland, William,
Lynett, Cierra and Jesse Johnson, of Tulsa; and Whitney, McKalay, Ruth,
Jasonin Todd, of Pawnee; great-grandchildren, Trey Stewart, of Tulsa, and
Darwin Stewart, of Pawnee, Moria (Ballard) Stewart, of Pawnee; two step-brothers,
John and David Green, of Pawnee; two step-sisters, Marie Bitts and Opal
Logan, both of Calif.; and a number of relatives and many friends.
