Bob Kemp
Graveside service for Bob Kemp, 71, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday
in Brookside Cemetery, Houston.
Mr. Kemp died Friday at his home.

He was born July 5, 1928, in Springfield, Mo., to Emery Lincoln and
Monnie Jean Bishop Kemp. He grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from
the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree in psychiatric social
work. He was employed as director of Family Services in El Paso, Texas,
and worked with Child Protective Services in Houston. He retired in 1997
and moved to Lawton. He married Mary Anne Jones on Sept. 5, 1954, in Boswell.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Robert Grant Kemp,
Houston; four daughters: Jean Kemp Towery and Cortney E. Kemp, both of
Houston; Judith Kemp Carlisle, Victoria, Texas; and Gretchen Kemp Newman,
Lawton; a brother, William A. Kemp and his wife, Betty, Houston; and four
grandchildren.

Sills, 73, Green Forest, Ark. Mr. Sills died Monday at his home. Survivors
include a brother, Gale Sills, Missouri City, Texas; and a sister, Maxine
Sills, Lawton.
Pamela Jean Morales Odebrecht
Funeral for Pamela Jean Morales Odebrecht, 30, Lawton, will be at 10
a.m. Friday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Vivian
Garza, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church southwest of Lawton, officiating.
Mrs. Odebrecht died Sunday at her home. Burial will be at Faxon Cemetery,
Faxon.
She was born Sept. 27, 1969, in Lawton. She grew up in Lawton and graduated
from Lawton High School. He married Scott Odebrecht in Apache. She was
employed as a teacher’s aide at Will Rogers Elementary School for several
years. She was later employed by Children’s Universe as the school-age
teacher for the after-school program.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her parents: Vee and Betty
Morales, Faxon; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Amber Morales, Devon
Morales and Trisha and Buddy Phillips, all of Faxon; a brother, Vee Morales
Jr., Weatherford, Texas; her paternal grandmother, Rosita Morales, Lawton;
and her maternal grandparents: Jim and Lucy Bryant, Brazos, Texas.
Billy Dean Earhart
Word has been received of the death of Billy Dean Earhart, 59, Lawton.
Mr. Earhart died Monday in a local hospital. Arrangements are by Lawton
Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
He was born March 11, 1941, in Waco, Texas. He grew up in Lawton and
California. He was employed by Gene Warner as a masonry. Survivors include
his son, Billy F. Earhart, Hobart; a nephew, Robert Earhart; and his former
wife, Barbara Earhart, Lawton.
Berta Alicia Roman
Funeral for Berta Alicia Roman, 73, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday
at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Jones, pastor
of Cameron Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Roman died Sunday in a local
nursing center. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.
She was born June 23, 1926, in Panama City, Panama, to Albelardo and
Dolores Fernandez Barichovich. She grew up and attended school in Panama.
She married Rafael "Ralph" Roman on March 8, 1951, in Fort Davis, Canal
Zone, Panama. They returned to Lawton in 1965. She was a homemaker and
a member of Cameron Baptist Church and International Christian Woman’s
Group.
Survivors include her husband of the home; four sons: Detzer Roman,
Weatherford, Texas; Danny Roman, Florida; Dezi Roman and Dehny Roman, both
of Altus; four daughters: Dahlys Hamilton, Germany; Dolores Roman, Memphis,
Tenn.; and Darlene Roman, Lawton; a stepson, Irving, Roman, New York City;
three sisters: Aura Elena Rodriguez, Orlando, Fla.; Sonya Rodriguez, Philadelphia;
and Nellie Barichovich, Panama; a brother, Alberto Barichovich, Panama;

Russell Lee Smart Jr.
ROANOKE, Texas — Funeral for former Lawton resident Russell Lee Smart
Jr., 33, Roanoke, Texas, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Becker Funeral Home
Memorial Chapel, Lawton, with the Revs. Gary Pratt and Raymond Frizzelle,
associate pastors at Lawton First Assembly of God officiating. Mr. Smart
died Saturday in South San Francisco, Calif., after an automobile accident.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Lawton.
He was born July 12, 1966, in Frankfurt, Germany. He moved to Lawton
as a boy and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1984. He received
his bachelor’s degree from Cameron University and later received his master’s
degree from Oklahoma City University. He married Jonna Moore on June 9,
1990, in Lawton. He lived in Roanoke for six years. He was employed as
a vice president of information technology for Quest Cyber Solutions.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three children: Katherine,
Alexis and Jonathan, all of the home; his mother, Sylvia Smart Hargraves,
Lawton; his father and stepmother: Debbie and Russell Lee Smart Sr., New
Hampshire; a brother, David Alan Smart, Decatur, Ill.; four stepbrothers:
Jack Lee Musselman, Selmer, Tenn.; Jeriel Lee Musselman Jr., Forrest City,
Ark.; Mark Matthew Musselman, Moore; and Jeremy Smart, New Hampshire; a

Pete A. Terronez
Mass of Christian burial for retired Sgt. 1st Class Pete A. Terronez,
85, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church
with the Rev. James D.M. Stafford, pastor, officiating. Sgt. Terronez died
Monday in a Fort Sill hospital. Burial with military honors will be at
Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He moved to and attended
school in Perry as a boy. He joined the Army in 1941. He was in World War
II, Korea and Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart and many other awards.
He married Margaret Garcia on June 6, 1938, in Perry. She died Jan. 18,
1993.
Survivors include four sons: Pedro, Lawton; Arthur, Washington; and
David and Paul Terronez, both of Wichita Falls, Texas; seven daughters:
Marguerite Pederson, Zenaida Baker, Vicky Taylor, Angelica Terronez and
Raquel Johnson, all of Lawton; and Gloria Chitwood, Clarksville, Tenn.;
20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral for Janice Sue Swasho, 40, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday

Mrs. Swasho died Sunday in a Tulsa hospital after a sudden illness. Burial
will be at Cache Intertribal Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 30, 1959, in Lawton. She was a member of Stilwell
United Indian Methodist Church. She was a member of the Comanche Tribe.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Staqq, Nashville, Tenn.; six
brothers: John, Robert, William and Charles Swasho, all of Tulsa; George
Swasho, St. Louis; and James Swasho, Enid; a sister, LaDonna Carter, Flint,
Mich.; her father, John Swasho, Marion, Ind.; and her mother, LaVerna Swasho,
Marion. She was preceded in death by a nephew, John Robert Swasho II.
Holden Dunford Jr.

Ira Everett Thomason
CYRIL — Funeral for Ira Everett Thomason, 77, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday at Fletcher First Baptist Church with the Rev. A.L. Swagerty,
Fletcher, officiating. Mr. Thomason died Monday in a Lawton hospital. Burial
will be at Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home,
Fletcher.
He was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Randlett. He moved to Fletcher in 1925.
He graduated from Fletcher High School in 1942. He joined the Navy, retiring
in 1962 as a chief petty officer. He married Almeda in 1957. She died in
December 1987. He lived in Aurora, Mo., from 1982 to 1990. He married Waldine
Love on March 9, 1990, in Miami, Okla. They lived in Missouri before moving
to Cyril in 1990. He was employed as a custodian for Fletcher schools for
10 years. He was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Linda Thomason,
Tacoma, Wash.; two stepdaughters: Becky, Eugene, Ore.; and Sonja Gilliam,
Fletcher; three stepsons: Melvin, Steve and Mike Love, all of Cyril; two
brothers: Sam Thomason, Oklahoma City; and Howard Thomason, California;
and two sisters: Louise Stinnett, Tulsa; and Nannie Jo Camel, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paula and Eula Thomason; three
sisters; and four brothers.

He was born Aug. 13, 1906, in Guthrie. He married Idella Baucom. He
was employed as a licensed salvage dealer in Anadarko for many years. He
was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Washita Lodge No.

in New Jersey. She married Dennis M. Crawford on Aug. 21, 1982, in Frederick.
She moved to Lawton in 1997.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her father, Joe Jones, Frederick;
three sons: Joseph Brown, Amarillo, Texas; Alvin Brown, Lawton; and David
Brown, Oklahoma City; her mother-in-law, Dollie J. Glass, North Plain,
N.J.; a brother and sister-in-law: Howard and Lela Jones, Lawton; seven
sisters: Mamie Lee Satterwhite, Victoria Washington and Josephine Pitts,

3, 1953. He died Aug. 21, 1998. They moved to the United States in 1981.
She was a homemaker.

Damrong Dy, Mouk Da Dy and Phoumara Dy, all of Lawton; and three daughters:

Mrs. Douglass died Wednesday at her home.
Burial will be at Temple Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral
Home, Temple.
She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Temple. She married Richard Wayne Douglass
on March 22, 1941. He died Nov. 4, 1986. She lived in Temple and was employed
by Haggar Apparel for many years. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1972. She
was employed by Hyde Drug for many years. She was a member of Putnam City
Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children: Richard Wayne Douglass Jr., Dianne
Cecille Bivins and Sharon Knudsline, all of Oklahoma City; and Larry Howard
Douglass, Lawton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. |
