UNIONTOWN -- Ruth A. Pressler, 92, passed away December 17, 1998, at St. Luke's Lutheran Home.
She was a lifetime Uniontown resident, a member of Advent Lutheran Church, and graduated from Uniontown High School.
Preceded in death by her husband, Henry and son, Charles R., she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Julia of Uniontown; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Madison J. (Jim) Muncil
Madison J. (Jim) Muncil, 83 years, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Dec. 16, 1998.
He was a member and past commander of the Ralph Huff Post 1062 VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in 1986, and is survived by three sisters, Ruth Webber, Alice Webber and Helen LaJoie; and brother, Wade Muncil.

Sylvia G. McCorvey
Sylvia G. McCorvey, 60, went home to be with the Lord December 17, 1998 at Akron General Medical Center after a long illness.
She was a lifetime resident of Akron. She was employed by Akron General Medical Center for 8 years, last working in 1988. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Sylvia is survived by daughters, Carol (Cornie) McMillian, Gloria (Tommie) McCorvey Stone, Grace McCorvey; son, James McCorvey; 13 grandchildren; special friends, Melvin Sommerville, James McCorvey, Mary McElroy, all of Akron; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

TALLMADGE -- Loretta M. Mayfield, 59, passed away December 18, 1998, at Hospice Care Center after a short illness.
She was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years of marriage, George Richard (Dick) Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, George Richard (Rick) Jr. and Julia, Robert Donald II, all of Tallmadge, Randy Kevin and Ann of Uniontown; daughter and son-in-law, Marian Christine and Michael Frye of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Christopher, Theresa, Patrick, Steven, Nicholas, Kylie, Bradley and Mackenna; parents, William and Tonie Booth of Akron; mother-in-law, Grace Mayfield of Tallmadge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Judy Booth of Cincinnati, Phillip and Marilyn Booth of Akron; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita Hollis-Emrick (Larry) of Akron; brother-in-law, Robert (Linda) Mayfield of Tallmadge; sister-in-law, Jolynn (Chuck) Phillips of Jackson Twp.; many close relatives and dear friends.

Connie M. Harold
Connie M. Harold, 64, passed away Dec. 17, 1998.
Born in Medina County, she was a former Akron resident who had lived in Tallmadge for the past 21 years. She retired from the Board of Education after 23 years of service as a librarian at McEbright Elementary and was a member of the First Church of God in Tallmadge.
Preceded in death by parents, Guy and Mae Burkett, she is survived by her husband of 46 years, Orvel; daughters, Helena (Carmel) Goodrich of W. Virginia and Guylene Harold and J. E. O'Shaughnessy of N. Olmsted; and son, Edward L. (Patricia) of Indiana; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; special nephew, James; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the Eckard-Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Pastor John C. Phillips and Pastor Ken Webb officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Robert A. Green, ``Outstanding Scout Leader'', 67, died December 16, 1998.

Domenic Fana
Domenic Fana, 65, of the City of Green, went home to be with the Lord suddenly Dec. 18, 1998.
Born in Sicily, Italy on Dec. 27, 1932, he moved to the Akron area in 1955, where he was employed by the Alessio Construction Co. In 1967, he started the Fana Brothers Construction Co. and, in 1974, purchased the Rose Villa Restaurant, where he has been owner-operator. He was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Anna; son, Domenic Fana of the City of Green; daughters, Maria (Anthony) Barbieri of Cuyahoga Falls, Rita (Jim) Grosso and Linda (Danny) Sams, both of the City of Green; brother, Joe Fana of Cuyahoga Falls; sisters, Rose Calabrese of Akron and Sara Bonfiglio of Sicily; grandchildren, Kara, Domenic, Erica and Mark; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., with Fr. James R. Schleicher officiating. Mary J. Eckstine, formerly of Akron, died Dec. 16, 1998, at her residence in Ellenton, Fla.
She was a supervisor for the Data Processing Dept. for Polsky's department store.
She is survived by a son, Ronald of Canton; daughter, Connie H. Elliott of Asheboro, N.C.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Rosaira DiDomenico, 92, of Stow, formerly of Akron, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998.

Martha Jane Czaplinski
Martha Jane Czaplinski, 54, of Merriam, Kansas passed away Dec. 15, 1998 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Jane was born in Akron and lived in the Kansas City, Kansas area since 1966. She graduated from McPherson College in 1966 with a BS in Education. She received her master's degree from Kansas State University. For the past thirty years she has been a teacher of gifted education in Kansas City, Kansas.
She is survived by her son, Lane Czaplinski of Lawrence, Kan.; a brother, Paul Hossler of Ann Arbor, Mich., and a sister, Ann Lawrence of Norton. Jane was a loving mother, sister and friend and a devoted teacher. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity Temple on the Plaza, 707 W. 47th Street. Cremation. The Family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to The Martha Jane Czaplinski Arts & Education Fund, which will help to continue the work she has done for the past 30 years. Stanley P. Alekna 
Stanley P. Alekna, 89, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. 
He was born in Dekalb, Ill. and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1974 with 45 years service. He was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, National Association of Letter Carriers, Lithuanian Alliance of America, and the Holy Name Association of the former St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Mr. Alekna was preceded in death by his first wife, Adele and sister, Esther Roman. He is survived by wife, Nellie; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley A. and Sally of Lebanon, Pa., James L. and Phyllis of Stow, Paul J. and Judy of Grand Rapids, Mich.; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara A. and James Ciancio of Silver Lake; sister, Bernice Mackus of Pinellas Park, Fla.; step children, Robert and Ralph Tucker, and Ranelle Gerry; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:15 a.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., and 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Mary Alice Boschert (nee Schatz)
HUDSON -- Mary Alice Boschert, age 77, of Hudson, beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Boschert; loving mother of Carol Lane, Sandra Janosek, Robert Boschert and Gary Boschert; dear grandmother of Michael, Brad and Brian Lane, Lisa Svoboda, Cheryl, Larry Jr., and David Janosek; great-grandmother Marissa, Michelle and Michael Lane Jr., and Ashley and Christina Svoboda; dear sister of Alvin, Vivian and the late Charles, Pat, Regis, Delores and Coletta, died Thursday.
Mary was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Mary's Church in Hudson. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She taught all that came into her life the ultimate in love and values. Mary demonstrated to her family, through her faith, the ability to remain strong in the face of significant adversity.

Anna Grace Barrett, 92, passed away Dec. 18, 1998.
She was born in Westfield, Pa., and lived in the Akron area since 1924. She was a member of Annunication Catholic Church, the AARP, Reservoir Park Senior Citizens, the Grandmothers Club at Annunciation, and the East Akron Womens Club.
Preceded in death by her husband, Francis J., she is survived by her daughters, Anna Grace (Joseph) Mattingly of Akron, Mary McAleese of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sons, Francis J. (Charla) Barrett of Florida and Patrick M. (Judi) Barrett of Tallmadge; sister, Gloria (Gordon) Watson of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; brother, Frank (Elinor) Duffy of Sylmar, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Catherine Irene Zimmerman
BARBERTON -- Catherine Irene Zimmerman, 86, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998.
She was a resident of Barberton for over 60 years, and a member of the Barberton First Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Paul Hoeferle; surviving are, husband of 65 years, Jesse; daughter, Carolyn Mae (Billy) Mefford of Barberton; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Josephine Young.

Albert A. Verrilli, Jr.
CANAL FULTON -- Albert A. Verrilli, Jr., 65 of Canal Fulton died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998 at Akron City Hospital.
Born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., he was a resident of Canal Fulton for the past 34 years, received a BS Degree in mechanical engineering from Yale University and was a retired engineer with the Babcock & Wilcox Co. in Barberton. He was a member of Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church, Canal Fulton, had been a Boy Scout Leader with Troop 915, Canal Fulton and was a former member of the Canal Fulton Library Board.
He is survived by wife, Margaret Verrilli; children, Dr. Albert (Ellen) Verrilli, III of Clinton, N.C., Michael (Linda) Verrilli of Brunswick, Ohio, Stephen (Karen) Verrilli of Cincinnati, Ohio, Catherine (Jeffrey) Bauer of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Christopher (Amy) Verrilli of Simpsonville, S.C., Timothy (Jacqueline) Verrilli, Alysia Verrilli, all of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; brother, Dr. John Verrilli of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Marian Sackson of Somers, N.Y., Adrienne Seymour of Somerville, N.J.; brother-in-law, Richard Martinez of Wooster, Ohio; sister-in-law, Irene Fennell of Daytona Beach, Fla.

Curtis Earl Tucker
(Little Caesar)
Curtis Earl Tucker, (Little Caesar), 47, departed this earthly life on Dec. 18, 1998 at Akron General Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Akron on March 2, 1951, and was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey Sr. and Emma Tucker; brother, Dorsey (Jiggs) Tucker; daughter, Dawnalyn Douglas. He was the youngest of six children. He attended Akron Public Schools and received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Ohio University in 1991 and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Ashland University in 1992. He was a member of the University of Ashland Alumni Club, and the Morrish Science of America.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, who was his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Tucker; children, Douglas (Spring) Strickland of New Jersey, Carmen (Macey) Strickland, Richard Lollar, Roslyn (Michael) Smith, Diedra Brown, Curtis Earl Tucker Jr., Donnie Lollar, all of Akron; six grandchildren; brothers, John Tucker and Gregory Bridgeforth; sister, Emma (William) Black; aunt, Ruth Rice; uncles, Arthur and John Bell, all of Akron; mother-in-law, Thelma Strickland; sisters-in-law, Eunice Tucker, Patricia Strickland, Shirley Waters, and Karen Strickland, all of Akron, and Marsha Reynolds of Los Angeles, Ca.; brother-in-law, Kevin Strickland; special nieces, Robin Oliver and LaTusha Black; special nephews, Wesley Tucker, Jama Black; special cousin, Arthur Bell Jr.; special friends, Sonny Edwards and Willie Joe Favors; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Stella M. Sanders, 97, passed away Dec. 19, 1998.
She was born in Huntsville, Ala., on Nov. 9, 1901, and was a member of New Hope Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. in 1973, and son, James in 1948; she is survived by her grandson, James W. (Roye) Sanders; great-grandchildren, James D. (Julie), Jeffrey C. (Lisa), Jennifer, and Julie Sanders; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Private services and burial will be held at Lakewood Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Denise L. Russell
Denise L. Russell, 25, of Akron, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
She was born May 15, 1998 in Akron. Denise was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Miriam Burns in March of 1998, and also by her paternal grandparents, Mabel and E.L. Russell. Survivors include her father and stepmother, Michael and Wendy Russell; stepfather, Robert Burns; sister and brother-in-law, DeLynn and Lester Yerkey; grandparents, Pastor W.C. and Virginia Smith; nephew, Luke Yerkey; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Ernie Coffy.

Gilbert J. Ritter
Gilbert J. Ritter, 104, formerly of North Vine Street, Orrville and the Akron/Green area, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998 at Glendora Healthcare Center, Wooster, following a period of declining health.
He was born July 8, 1894 in Akron, Ohio, the son of William F. and Cora May (Stein) Ritter, and attended school in the Akron/Green Schools. He was united in marriage to Irene Whisler on July 12, 1919. They were divorced in 1949. He was united in marriage to Ruth I. Bowers in April of 1959. She died Jan. 3, 1987. He previously had been employed at the Rubb Construction Co. Following retirement he enjoyed working on small engines and lawn mowers.
Surviving is a daughter, Evelyn Schaaf of Manchester; a granddaughter, Faye Fryling of Santa Maria, Ca.; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Ritter of Akron; a sister, Marie Kiepler of Clinton. Preceded in death by son, Donald Ritter, daughters, Dorothy Ritter, Thelma Ritter, and Doris Ritter; son-in-law, Norman Schaaf, brothers, William Ritter and Ray Ritter; sisters, Ethel Ritter, Etha Carpenter and Minnie Crooks.
