Dr. Walter S. Tholt, DDS, 82, died Dec. 25, 1998, at Massillon Community Hospital.

Willard I. Tewell
Willard I. Tewell, 74, of Akron, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998.
Mr. Tewell was born in Little Orleans, Md., on Nov. 13, 1924. He had lived in the Akron area for 67 years. He was a retired teacher, retiring in 1986 from the Akron Board of Education for several years. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. 
He is survived by his wife, Susan L.; daughter, Linda Sue Radke of Lakeside, Calif.; mother, Edna Tewell of Akron; grandchildren, Susan (Thom) Prenett, Patty (John) Michaels of Mogadore, and Christopher Radke of Lakeside, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Christie and Stephen Miller, Tiffany Prenett of Akron, Danielle Michaels of Mogadore, Tracha and Jordan of Cleveland. 
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at 11 a.m., at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1480 E. Wood Ave., Akron 44305, Rev. Raymond W. Deuring officiating. Interment at Chestnut Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Catherine H. Heiner
Catherine H. Heiner, 79, of Streetsboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999.
She was the mother of Carson (Elizabeth) Heiner Jr. of Silver Lake and Charles (Barbara) Heiner of Akron; grandmother of four; sister of John D. Helbig of Akron; and special friend of Joan Wise of Brimfield. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Heiner Sr.; and brother, Robert Helbig.
Calling hours will be TONIGHT from 6 to 8 at the Shorts Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel; and two hours prior to the 1 p.m. service Thursday at the Stow Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Hudson Montessori School or the Stow Presbyterian Church. Anthony (Tony) Scafidi
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Anthony (Tony) Scafidi, 85, died Dec. 29, 1998.
He was born in Akron, and had been a resident of Cuyahoga Falls since 1926. He retired as the owner of Tony's Star Market, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Italian American Club, and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Ralph Huff Post 1062. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and granddaughter, Nichole Hardman. He is survived by daughters, Patricia (Charlie) Perrin of Munroe Falls, Mary Ann Scafidi of Cuyahoga Falls, Barbara (George) Malita of Munroe Falls, Cheryl (Nick) Colianni of Cuyahoga Falls; sons, Tony (Sue) Scafidi of Munroe Falls, Bill (Kathy) Scafidi of Cuyahoga Falls, and Jim Scafidi of Cuyahoga Falls; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home at Third Street, one block north of Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Caroline Quotson, 88, passed away Dec. 29, 1998, at Copley Healthcare Center.

Vincent A. Percich
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Vincent A. Percich, 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998.
He was born in Warren, Ohio, a 41-year resident of Cuyahoga Falls. He was a metal finisher for the Ford Motor Co. for 30 years. He served as an Army Engineer in World War II. He was a member of the 41st Infantry Division, and made 29 opposed landings during the War in New Guinea and the Phillipines. He left the service as a staff sergeant. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary. 
Mr. Percich is survived by wife of 50 years, Helen; daughter, Diana Greig of Farmington Hills, Mich.; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Patricia of Ellicott City, Md.; Colonel David and Kay of Owings, Md.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Aaron, Lance, A.V., Brittany, and Alison; brothers, Robert (Sara Jean) and Marlowe, both of Warren, Ohio.
Friends may call at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home, at Third Street one block north of Portage Trail, Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Margaret Patchman
Margaret Patchman, 61, passed away Dec. 30, 1998. 
A resident of Akron for the past three years, Margaret had lived in Canton for over 25 years. She had been employed at Doctors Hospital in Massillon in the accounts receivable department. 
She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Patchman of Akron, Laura (Patrick) Frame of South Carolina; son, John (Sherry) Patchman of Kentucky; sister, Ann Olenik of Indiana; brother, John Puhlyak of Illinois; and grandchildren, Trista, Amber, John, and Kyle.

Robert L. Morrow
Robert L. Morrow, 51, departed this life Dec. 27, 1998, at St. Thomas Medical Center, after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and sister-in-law. He leaves, to cherish his memory, devoted brothers, Billy (Umpie) Armstead of Akron and Sidney (Mary) Howell of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Sarah (John) Webster of Florence, Ala., and Charlie Louise Jennings of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Carl Martin
Carl Martin, 86, passed away Dec. 29, 1998.
He was born Nov. 2, 1912. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Helen G. Martin. He was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. He attended Central High School, and was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.
He is survived by his sons, Carl D. Martin of Green, Michael R. Martin of Vienna, Va.; grandchildren, Michael D. Martin (Melissa) of Phoenix, Ariz., Sherri McAbee (Robert) of Green, and Tracie Cosentino (Michael) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Frank Martin of Florida.
There will be no calling hours. At the request of Mr. Martin, his body has been donated for science at the Case Western Reserve University. Memorials may be made to the Medical Education & Research Fund of Summa Health System Foundation.

Lucy (Felton) Lee
Lucy (Felton) Lee, 82, passed away Dec. 29, 1998, after a long illness.
Lucy Lee was born on April 14, 1916, in Aubrum, Ala., to Jim and Mary Woodall, who preceded her in death. She was married to Emmit Lee of Akron, who also preceded her in death.
Lucy Lee was employed at the University of Syracuse in New York. She relocated to Akron and was a domestic coordinator. Lucy Lee was a dedicated member of Wesley Temple AME Zion Church, a member of the Gospel Choir, and a member of the Livingston College Chapter.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her son, Thomas (Ella) Felton of Akron; stepson, Alfred Lee; six grandchildren, Derrick (Linda) Felton, Kimberly Felton; their mother, Sandra (Clarence) Johnson, all of Akron, Lorraine (Ronnie) Bush of Kansas City, Kan., LaRoy (Cynthia) Dickerson, Eugene (Jill) Dickerson, Jacqueline Gabriel, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; special cousins, John Woodall and Raife Woodall; nieces, Bettye Woodall and E.P. Woodall-Bell; nephew, Jefferson Woodall and Rufus Woodall; sister-in-law, Emma (Shade) Woodall; uncle, Clinton Woodall; aunt, Marie Jackson of Tuskegee, Ala.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., with visitation from 12 p.m. until time of services, at Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 104 N. Prospect, Rev. Dr. Curtis Walker officiating. Richard Laney
Richard Laney, 73, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998.
Memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at ADAMS-MASON MEMORIAL CHAPEL (791 E. Market St.) where military rites will be conducted before a memorial service. Wilfred F. Kysor
Wilfred F. Kysor, 86 years of age, passed away December 29, 1998.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1912, the beloved son of Sam and Mary Jane, and loved brother of seven sisters and three brothers. He was the most dear and loved father of four children, Wanda McLain of Homeworth, Ohio, Shirley (Russ) English of Green, Jack (Shirley) Kysor of Hollywood, Calif., and Bill (Jennifer) Kysor of North Wales, Pa.; three stepchildren, the late Bill (Carol) Foster, Bruce (Sherry) Foster of Uniontown, and Dixie (Willis) Eagan of Florida. He had 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. 
He worked 42 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber, retiring on June 1, 1974. These years he always said were his happiest, and he had many great stories to tell. He was a hard worker all his life. Dad greatly enjoyed all children, and requested that all remembrances be made to the Christ Child Society, 604 N. Main St., Akron 44310. He was a happy person, always smiling. He had a wonderful laugh that we'll never forget. We will always miss you, Dad. It was an honor to be your daughter. Godspeed on your new journey. You've made a mark on all our lives. You're loved forever.

Kathryn H. James
BARBERTON -- Kathryn H. James, 63, passed away Dec. 28, 1998.
Mrs. James was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Aug. 20, 1935. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David; son, Craig James of Copley; daughter, Sheila (James) Ludwig of Medina; brother, Bernard (Marge) Strain of Georgia; sister, Ernestine Eagle of Minnesota; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Rachel Ludwig.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at 1 p.m., at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service, Rev. Dan Lansell officiating. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Music Fund of United Church of Christ Congregational of Medina, Ohio.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Robert B. Hosier, M.D., 78, died Dec. 28, 1998.

Joseph P. Hillery
Joseph P. Hillery, 79, died Dec. 30, 1998.
Born in Akron, he was a graduate of Central High School. He went on to a career in the news distribution business, finishing as president of Central News Co. Joseph was involved in his parish at St. Joseph's in Cuyahoga Falls, and served as president of the Falls Catholic Credit Union. He was involved in his children's school, serving as treasurer of the St. Vincent-St. Mary Endowment Board. He was also proud to recall his service as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ann; and his sister, Agnes Lammlein. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; and his children and their spouses, Kathy and Don Cybulski of Hudson, Terry Hillery of Sandusky, Karen and Frank Steininger of Houston, Texas, and Kevin and Barb Hillery of Bath. Joseph was also blessed with seven grandchildren; and sister, Mary Haas of Stow.
Calling hours will be TODAY, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 811 GRANT ST., AKRON. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at noon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
