Adrian L. Stinson
Adrian L. Stinson, age 28, of Massillon, OH, passed away Saturday evening,
April 14, 2001 in Doctors Hospital. He
was born in Canton, OH, and resided in the Massillon area since that
time. He was a former member of The True Church House of Prayer to All
Nation, and a present membher of Agape Love Christian Center. He served
in the United States Army for four years after being honorably discharged;
he was employed at Americold Logistics. He is survived by his wife, Ashaki
(McGhee) Stinson with whom he celebrated six years of marriage; three daughters,
Aquyla, Ashrian, Adriann; one son, Adrian Stinson, II, all of Massillon,
OH; parents, Arlene and Eddie Stinson of Massillon, OH; one brother, Andre
Stinson of Massillon; two sisters, Arlissa Stinson of Massillon, and Whitney
Thompson of Columbus, OH; in-laws parents, Betty and Jesse Robinson of
Massillon, OH, Hugh and Patricia McGhee of Chicago, IL; two brothers-in-law,
Jesse and Jacob Robinson both of Massillon; grandmothers, Ethel Lee Copeland
and Mary L. Nash both of Massillon; biological father, Arthur Thompson;
and grandfathers, Lacey Copeland and Harvey Thompson preceded him in death.
Services will be held Saturday, April 21st, 2001 at Friendship Baptist
Church, 920 3rd St.SE, Massillon, OH. Calling hours 10 a.m. Service 11
a.m. Apostle Troy Sowell officiating. Repast will be held in the church

Annabelle Zengler
Annabelle Joan Zengler, age 56 of North Canton, born November 28, 1944
in Waycross, GA, died April 18, 2001 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH,
after her long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a 1962 graduate
of Hoover High School and was retired in 1998 after a 36 year career as
a court recorder for several Stark Co. Courts and Federal Court System
in Akron. Survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary; daughter, Kim of Canton;
brother, Chip Yarger and wife, Sibbi of Woodland Park, CO; parents, Jack
and Margaret Yarger, of Goodyear, AZ; mother-in-law, Adelaide Zengler;
brother-in-law, Bruce Zengler; and sister-in-law, Holly Davis, all of North
Canton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted
2 p.m. Saturday at St. Jacob Community Church of Cairo, 8169 Kent Ave NE
with Rev. Robert Lair officiating. Interment will be in St. Jacob Cemetery.

Betty M. Colby
Betty M. Colby, age 78, of Canton, OH, passed away Tuesday afternoon
in the Country Lawn Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in
Akron, OH, on May 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Lovina
Bowermaster. She had lived most of her life in the Canton area and was
a retired employee of General Electric Credit Co., retiring in 1983 after
20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Colby,
who passed away Nov. 10, 1989 and also by a sister, Madeline Arnold. Survivors
include her daughter, Cynthia Jacobs of Canton and her son and daughter-in-law,
Randy and Estella Colby of Loveland, CO; her brother, Jim Bowermaster of
Mt. Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren and their spouses, Patrick Jacobs
and Stephanie, Shannon Jacobs-Lippert and Robert, Jennifer Calhoun, all
of Canton, Sean Jacobs and Elizabeth Shimp of Massillon and William Colby
and Kate of Loveland, CO; 11 great-grandchildren. There will be no services
as her wishes were to be cremated. The Reed Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

Ernest Andrews, Sr.
Ernest J. Andrews, Sr., age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday,
April 16, 2001. Born Feb. 3, 1911, in Sandersville, GA. Retired employee
of Wilcoff-Morris Steel in Canton and actively employed by Buckeye Security
until his health failed. Preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Andrews;
son, Raymond Andrews; brother, Leroy Andrews; sister-in-law, Mozell Andrews;
parents, Ethel and Ivy Andrews; step-mother, Ella Andrews; stepson, Charles
Robbins. Member of Greater Bethel Apostolic Church, serving on the Bus
Ministry, active in Sunday School and the Brotherhood. He will be dearly
missed by his wife, Marion Andrews, to whom he was married 37 years; sons,
Ernest (Lucinda) Andrews, Jr., Kenneth (Johnnie Mae) Andrews of Pittsburgh,
PA; daughters, Donna (Douglas) Wells of Upper Marlboro, MD, Lynette Turner;

Gesumina Gambone
Sister. Gesumina Gambone, H.M., formerly Sister Consuela, died Wednesday,
April 18, 2001 at Villa Maria Community Center. A member of St. Anthony
Parish, Canton, OH, she joined the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1939.
Her active ministry of 51 years was spent in education and community service
in the Cleveland, Youngstown and Pittsburgh Dioceses, including St. Paul
in Canton, St. Joseph in Massillon and St. Paul in Salem. Survived by the
Sister of the Humility of Mary Concregation; brothers, Dominic and Anthony
Gambone of Canton. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Raffaela

Josephine A. DiCola
Josephine A. (Vitale) DiCola, age 87, of North Canton, died Tuesday
morning, April 17, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was
a life resident of Canton and a former employee of Rice Dry Cleaners. Josephine
was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and St. John's Guild.
She lived her life unselfishly and was devoted to her children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband
of 62 years, Victor, on January 13, 2001; her parents, Leone and Francesca
(Pidala) Vitale; five sisters, Rose Vitale, Vicki Hildebrandt, Jennie Norcia,
Mary Marsh and Frances Barbera; two brothers, Joe and Leo Vitale; and great-grandson,
John James Kulwicki. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law,
James and Frances DiCola, Lee and Dorothy DiCola, and Victor and Cecelia
DiCola, all of North Canton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia
DiCola of North Canton and Maryanne and Skip Shaw of Hartville; 14 grandchildren,
Laura, Dave, Rick, Michelle, Cherie, Ellen, James, Victor, Marcy, Chris,
Michael, David, Tony and Nicholas; and 17 great-grandchildren, Lauren,
Victoria, Anna, Castanza Christopher, Francesca, Clayton, Marie, Abby,
James, Daniel, Ellie, Benjamin, Carmella, Abby Jo, Holly and Olivia. She
is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Cleo Vitale
and Tony and Jeannette Vitale; one sister and brother-in-law, Clara and
Sam Purses; one sister-in-law, Dolores Vitale; and two brothers-in-law,
Joe Norcia and Jim Marsh all of Canton; and many nieces and nephews. Mass
of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist

Larry P. Caley
Larry P. Caley, age 68, of Canton, passed away Tuesday afternoon after
an extended illness. A life resident of Canton, he was a graduate of Canton
Timken High School and an Army veteran. He was a former owner and operator
of the Hob Nob Bar in Canton. Larry was an outstanding area athlete who
was inducted into the Greater Canton Fast-Pitch Softball and Fumbleball
Amateur Sports Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and
Nusta Caley; brothers, Chuck, Sam, Mike, Azore, Gene Caley; sisters, Julia
Forehope and Catherine Caley. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter,
Sheila Caley of Canton; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Patricia Caley
of North Canton, Stephen Caley of Columbus, Ronald and Susan Caley of Canton;
grandchildren, Nicholas, Lindsey, Alexandra and Erica Caley, Ashley and

Lula B. Sokol, age 70, died April 16, 2001. Mrs. Sokol was born in
Cuyahoga Falls and was a longtime resident of the area. Preceded in death
by husband, Edwin C. She is survived by daughters, Marie (Terry) Jamison
of Hartville, Carol Via of Tampa, FL, and Janet Sokol of North Canton;
son, Edwin C. Sokol (Beverly) of Akron; grandchildren, Ryan, Brent, Wendy,
Colyn, Steven, Tonya, David, and Crystal, and five great-grandchildren.

Reba M. Thomas
Reba M. Thomas, age 80, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning, April
18, 2001 in Aultman Hospital following a illness. Born July 2, 1920, in
Cambridge, OH, she lived the greater portion of her life in the Canton
area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Fay (LaFallette)
Dragosin; two daughters, Judy Fay Thomas in 1941 and Becky Thomas Slutz;
and a granddaughter, Stephanie Jo Slutz in 1970; and her husband, Ruben
C. Thomas, April 28, 1985; and two brothers, Paul and William Dragosin.
She was a member of Canton Baptist Temple and the MADD Organization. Survivors
include four sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucille Ramsey of New Philadelphia,
OH, Norma and Tom Hill of Navarre, OH, Mary Lam of Lore City, OH, Sarah
Hanes of Cambridge, OH; her brother, Charles Dragosin of Lore City, OH;
numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of
friends. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the
Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Burial will be

Sandra A. (Mest) Rich, age 62, of Manchester died Tuesday, April 17,
2001 at Akron City Hospital. Sandra was born in Akron, had been a life
resident of the area and was a former secretary at Jackson Christian Church
and the Manchester Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her son, Kenneth
B. Rich, Jr.; parents, Franklin and Martha (Dent) Mest; brothers, Franklin
Mest and Lanny Mest. Survived by husband of 43 years, Kenneth B. Rich,
Sr.; son, Timothy A. Rich of Manchester; brother, David Dent of Akron.

Sophie J. Pasko
Sophie J. (Sokolousky) Pasko, age 73, went home to be with the Lord
Monday, April 16, 2001, in Akron. She was born in Canton and resided in
Northampton, Pinellas Park, FL, and her last residence of Firestone Park.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ladies
Sodiality. Sophie assisted her husband, Mike, in their business, the Pasko
Piano and Organ Co. for more than 35 years. Sophie enjoyed her family,
music and friends. Mrs. Pasko was preceded in death by husband, Mike; sisters,
Ann Bernard and Stella Dasco. She is survived by sons, Michael (Deidre),
Steve (Jonna), all of Akron; daughters, Rosann Pasko of Westlake, Mary
Ann (Bruce) Delagrange of Green; brother, John Sokol of Florida; sister,
Mary Russell of Carrollton; granddaughter, Angela Pasko; great-granddaughter,
Alexandra Pasko. Sophie will be remembered as very loving, caring and friendly.
She always had a smile to share. Funeral services will be held Friday at
9:30 a.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd.,
Akron and 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment in

Tim D. Welch
Tim D. Welch, age 46, of Malvern died Sunday afternoon as the result
of an auto accident. Tim was born on April 2, 1955 in Canton. He was a
member of Zion Lutheran Church, a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School
and was employed by the City of Canton. Preceded in death by one brother,
William E. (Eddie) Welch Jr; and his grandparents, Frank and Anna Bonevich,
Robert and Margaret Welch. He was the beloved husband, of Jayne (Trascik)
Welch of the home; and the loving father of Dustin David and Timothy William
Welch of North Canton. He is also survived by his loving parents, William
E. Sr. and Nila Welch of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee and
Tina Welch of Waynesburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Steve
Harrison of Canton; two nephews, Douglas Welch and Nick Harrison; two nieces,
Emily Harrison and Elyse Welch; and his golden retriever, Brittney. Private
services will be held for the family.

Victoria I. Morton
Victoria I. (Munford) Morton, age 45, went home to be with the Lord
on Easter Sunday morning, April 15, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain
Hill, PA, following an extended illness. Victoria was born in Canton, OH,
on June 26, 1955; one of twelve children born to parents Daniel and Bertha
(Stover) Munford. She attended Canton City Schools and graduated from Timken
Senior High School in 1973. She earned her Associate Degree at Akron University
and, later, attended the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ, where she
was working toward her Bachelor's Degree. She was employed by ATT for 27
years. Retiring from there, she took a supervisor position at Agear Technologies
(formerly Lucent Technologies) in Trexelertown, PA. Victoria was married
to Lloyd Morton on May 25, 1974, in Canton, OH. To this marriage was born
two daughters. She and her husband were the co-founders of House of Praise
Ministries in Bethlehem, PA, where she served faithfully until ill health
prevented her participation. She was preceded in death by her maternal
grandparents, Albert and Inez Stover and her paternal grandparents, Dan
and Anniebelle Munford. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband,
Lloyd Morton and daughters, LaQuantis and LaKisha Morton of Nazareth, PA;
her parents, Daniel and Bertha Munford of Canton; eight sisters, Vontella
Herndon, Annie (Jeff) Phillips, Carolyn Munford, Susan (Mark) Amison and
Ingram Munford, all of Canton, and Margaret (Jesse) Anthony of Denver,
CO, Bertha Munford of Easton, PA and Cenell (Randy) Clark of Alliance,
OH; three brothers, John (Candace) Rhodes of Anchorage, AK, Daniel (Andrea)
Munford of Cleveland, OH and Chester (Lori) Munford of Canton; a host of
other relatives and many, many friends. Services will be held at Pentecostal
Temple C.O.G.I.C., Canton, on Saturday, April 21, 2001, with calling hours
10-11 a.m. and funeral at 11 a.m. Elder Allie Walker will do the Eulogy.

Vincent Bentivegna
Vincent (Barr) Bentivegna, age 86, passed away Tuesday evening at Altercare
of Canton after a lengthy illness. He was born in St. Louis, MO and had
been a resident of the Canton area for the past 84 years. He was a member
of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a member of the Canton Ex-Newsboys,
AARP and Amvets. He was a retired owner and operator of Barr Roofing Siding
Co. Survived by his wife, Virginia (Litun) Bentivegna, with whom he celebrated
53 years of marriage on Dec. 17, 2000, he will be very sadly missed by
his beloved wife; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Rita Bentivegna of
Canton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Robert Kuebel of Navarre,
Marlene and Merle Mago of Massillon; one brother, Phillip Barr of Canton;
ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann
and two sons, Joseph and Timothy Bentivegna; his parents, Guiseppe and
Mary Bentivegna; three sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Cristofano, Rose
Marie Casali and husband, Carl and Ida Premier; two brothers, Joseph and
Victor Barr; a great-grandson, Jason Welch. Mass of Christian Burial

Zania S. Terse
Zania S. Terse, age 57, of Canton, passed away suddenly early Monday
morning. A life resident of Canton, Zania was a loving mother, grandmother,
daughter, and sister who spent her life giving to others. We were so blessed
that she touched so many people's lives with her love and kindness. Zania
will be missed more than words can ever express. She was a 1961 graduate
of Central Catholic High School and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Zania was retired from Charter One Bank. Preceded in death by her father,
Nicholas J. Terse. She is survived by her mother, Nore Terse of Canton;
daughter and son-in-law, Lenore and Robert Jones of Massillon; sons and
daughters-in-law, Nick and Terri Slovick of Canton, Frank and Julie Slovick
of Greentown; grandchildren, Kristy, Brandon, Anthony Jones, Nicolena Slovick,
Christopher and Justin, Brittany, and Tyler Slovick; sisters and brothers-in-law,
Rae and Mike Pariano, Teresa and Sam Notturno all of Canton; brother and

Hospital. God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He
put His arms around her and whispered Come with me. With tear-filled eyes,
we watched her suffer and fade away, although we loved her deeply, we could
not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put
to rest. God broke our hearts to prove that He only takes the best.
