Elwood Clemmons
Elwood Clemmons, 76, of Prosperity Road, Waverly, died 8:25 p.m. Sunday,
Jan. 27, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 31, 1925, in Wakefield, Ohio, to the late Emory and
Teelie (Green) Clemmons. On March 3, 1946, he married Jacqueline (Minser)
Clemmons, who preceded him in death April 22, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Lonnie (Sherry) Clemmons, of Piketon, Ladd
(Rhonda) Clemmons, of Waverly and Shawn (Lisa) Clemmons, of Piketon; daughter,
Dawn (Bill) Jenkins, of Waverly; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
brothers, Everett Clemmons, of Piketon and Bandy Clemmons, of Toledo, Ohio;
sisters, Elnora Aleshire, of Dublin, Ohio and Eva Bartley, of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Mr. Clemmons was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and received a Purple
Heart and three Bronze Stars. He served in the Battles of the Bulge, Rhineland
and Ardennes. He was a member of Orient Lodge No. 321 F.& A.M., Waverly,
and was a member of D.A.V.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Boyer Funeral
Home, Waverly, with Rev. Gary Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey
Chapel Cemetery, Piketon, with Military Graveside Services by American
Legion Merritt Post No. 142, Waverly. Friends may call at the funeral home
from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the service time Wednesday. Masonic
Services by Orient Lodge No. 321 F. & A.M. will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Carol Ann Conrad
Beloved wife and mother, Carol Ann Conrad, 60, of St. Rt. 23, Chillicothe,
passed away Jan. 27, 2002, at Adena Medical Center.
She was born March 23, 1941, in Kingston, the daughter of Russell "Fat"
and Alice Smith Linton.
On June 5, 1959, she married Cecille Leroy Conrad, who survives. Also
surviving are children, Carolyn (Rick) Breeden, Circleville, Christopher
(Julie) Conrad, Craig (Karen) Conrad and Casey (Denise) Conrad, all of
Chillicothe; brothers, James (Shirley) Linton and David (Pam) Linton, both
of Chillicothe; sisters, Erline Seymour, Chillicothe, Katie (Forrest) Phillips,
Circleville, Wanda (Robert) Smyers, Florida, Betty (Nathan) Barnes, Circleville
and Linda Alexander, Chillicothe; nine grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by her parents; sister, Flora Bell Detty; and
father-in-law, Carl Conrad.
A funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hill Funeral
Home, Kingston, with Rev. Mike Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in
Hilter-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call at Hill's Tuesday from 2 to 8
p.m.
Ruth Detty
Ruth Detty, 66, of Chillicothe, died 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002,
at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gary Wallingford,
with whom she lived, following a short illness.
She was born May 20, 1935, in Pike County, to the late Walter and Elizabeth
Daniels May. She was married April 23, 1970, to Kenneth C. Detty, who died
Aug. 20, 1993.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Gary Wallingford,
of Chillicothe and Bonnie and Bob Chapman, of Piketon; son and daughter-in-law,
James W. Jr. and Kathy Cox, of Londonderry; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Ellie May, of Nevada, Ohio, Walter
Jr. and Vera May, of Chillicothe, Kenneth and Virginia May and Rodney and
Donna May, all of Upper Sandusky and Pastor Jeff and Rhonda May, of Latham;
sisters, Ida Miller, of Nevada, Ohio, Laura Cawley and Debbie Eigel, both
of Upper Sandusky, Sharon Southward, of Carey, Ohio and Joanna Blair, of
Nevada, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nora and William Powers, of
Minford, Glenda and Clarence Hannah, of Utica, Ohio, Vicki and Butch McDannell,
of Upper Sandusky and Jenny and Rick Leeth, of Nevada, Ohio; numerous nieces
and nephews; and special friends, Nathan and Sharon.
Ruth was a winner either way; by the healing of her body or by the
grave. She was a Born-Again Christian and in her short time of knowing
she had cancer, she witnessed for the Lord. Anyone who knew her saw a glow
about her. She met her soul-mate and will be waiting at the Golden Gate
with open arms for her family.
She attended the Richmond Dale Church of God.
A funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Ware Funeral
Home, with Pastor John Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry
Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Nettie A. Storts
Nettie A. Storts, 55, of Frankfort, died 1:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28,
2002, at Valley View Alzheimers Care Center, Frankfort.
She was born March 31, 1946, in Highland County, the daughter of the
late Gouldra and Nettie "Flon" Steele Storts.
She is survived by sisters, Phyllis Delaney, of Dayton and Jerriene
Underwood, of Westerville; brothers, Wilbur (Sue) Storts, of Frankfort,
Ray (Vickie) Storts, of Chillicothe and Eugene (Dorothy) Storts, of Westerville.
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded
in death by one sister, Betty Phillips; and one brother, Joe Storts.
Nettie worked at First Capital Enterprises. She had attended the Pioneer
School, where she was a cheerleader for the basketball team.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at 11
a.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, with Brother Bob Rose officiating.
Calling hours will not be observed. The Ebright Funeral Home of Frankfort
is serving the family.

Harry Franklin Ingham, Jr.
Harry Franklin Ingham Jr., 77, of Chillicothe died at 4:05 p.m. Monday
at Westmorland Place in Chillicothe.
He was on June 28, 1924 in Chillicothe, and was a retired millwright
at Chilpaco. He is survived by his wife.
Arrangements are pending at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly.

Juanita R. Zanka
Juanita R. Zanka, 88, formerly of Chillicothe, died Sunday evening
in Crystal Lake, Ill.
She was the widow of Henry R. Zanka.
Arrangements are being completed by the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer
Funeral Home.

Jean E. Adams
Jean E. Adams, 55, of Chillicothe, died 2:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18,
2002, in Berger Hospital, Circleville, following an extended illness.
She was born April 21, 1946, in Highland County, to the late Clarence
and Elizabeth Stevens Chapman.
She was married March 17, 1962, to Glen E. "Bud" Adams, who survives,
along with sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Wendy Adams and Danny and
Jill Adams, all of Chillicothe and Mike and Amy Adams, of Richmond Dale;
seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; brother, John Chapman, of
Chillicothe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Barbara Chapman,
of Chillicothe and Charles and Barbara Chapman, of Galion, Ohio; and several
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a stepgrandson and a step-great-grandson.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the Ware Funeral Home,
with Pastor Larry Ault officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Ruth S. Jackson
Ruth S. Jackson, 95, of Kingston, died Feb. 18, 2002, in Berger Hospital.
She was born Jan. 5, 1907, the daughter of M.A. and Myrtle Rhoads Shepard.
On Dec. 26, 1940, she married Bert Jackson, who died Aug. 1, 1976.
Ruth was a member of the Kingston U.M. Church and Kingston Eastern
Star.
Surviving are daughters, Karen L. (Jack) Lunsford, Chillicothe and
Roberta C. Shaw, Plain City; brother, Robert Shepard, Bucyrus; sister,
Carolyn King, Kingston; grandchildren, Jack Lunsford, Jr., Sheila, Cindy
(Jack) Hicks, Teresa Clever, David, Scott (Lori) Lunsford, all of Chillicothe,
Ted (Debra) Lunsford, Columbus, Mark (Becky) Shaw, Williamsport, Dan (Margaret)
Shaw, Cincinnati and Phoebe (Paul) Holland, Plain City; great-grandchildren,
Gayle and Brian Lunsford, Will and Jason Gougeon, Steven and Seth Clever,
all of Chillicothe, Kevin, Kyle and Kristin Lunsford, Columbus, Drew, Richard,
Rachel, Kevin, Anna and Benjamin Shaw, Joshua, Jessie and Mikayla Holland.
Ruth was also predeceased by grandchildren, Pamela, Jillian and Rick.
Funeral service will be Thursday 1:30 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home,
with Rev. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hill's Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with an Eastern Star
service at 7:30 p.m.
Gordon L. Roush
Gordon L. Roush, 65, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly 1:21 a.m. Feb.
15, 2002, in Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Ross County, to the late Roy and Pauline
Houser Roush.
He is survived by numerous cousins, including Earl Kuhn, Kingston,
Betty Lou Archey, Chillicothe and Juanita Croft, Columbus.
Mr. Roush had retired from Peabody Noise Control in Dublin, Ohio, where
he worked as a welder. He was a Korean War Navy veteran.
Military graveside services conducted by the Ross County Veterans Firing
Squad will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort,
with Rev. David Brown officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday
at noon at the Haller Funeral Home.
William H. Oren
William H. Oren, 82, of Davis Road, Bainbridge, died 1:25 a.m. Sunday
at Pike Community Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys and one daughter.

Janice K. Miller, 60, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Chillicothe, died
5 p.m. Sunday in Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, following a brief illness.
She was the wife of John R. Miller.

Clifford Eli Chaney
Clifford Eli Chaney, 89, of Fifth Street, Waverly, died 2 a.m. Friday,
June 7, 2002, at the home of his daughter.
He was born June 15, 1912, in Bowersville, Ohio, to the late Frank
and Goldie (Starkey) Chaney. He was married Dec. 18, 1931, to Helen L.
(Leaverton) Chaney, who preceded him in death June 3, 2001.
Surviving are son, Paul (Barbara) Chaney, of Waverly; daughters, Alice
(George) Wright, of Chillicothe and Saundra (Larry) Burkholder, of Frostburg,
Md.; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Orin Chaney,
of Pleasant Plain, Ohio and Ralph Chaney, of West Carolton, Ohio. He was
preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Edmund Chaney; four brothers,
Elwood, Carl, Eber and Paul Chaney; and a sister, Alice Mae McKee.
Mr. Chaney was a retired Mead Corporation employee and a Marine Corps
veteran of World War II. He was a member of Richmond Dale Baptist Church.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, in Boyer Funeral
Home, Waverly, with Rev. Larry Burkholder and Rev. G.T. Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral
home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.

Dewey Everhart, 72, of Lapperell Road, Bainbridge, died 8:55 a.m. Friday,
June 7, 2002 at Oak Hill Hospital, Florida.
He was born Feb. 9, 1930 in Ross County, the son of Emil and Helen
McNeal Everhart. He is survived by his wife, RosaLee Bumgardner Everhart,
two daughters, Marilyn Sue Gregg of Bainbridge and Gwendolyn Lee Montgomery
of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; six brothers
and sisters, Thelma Watson of Greenfield, Donna Huggins of Port St. Lucy.,
Fla., Frank Everhart of Greenfield, Norma Jean Embree of Frankfort, Harvey
Everhart of Greenfield, Judy Bell of Washington Court House and mother-in-law
Mina Bumgardner.
Dewey was a retired farmer.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at the Bainbridge
Church of Christ with Troy Villars officiating. Burial will follow in Bainbridge
