Rebecca R. Miller
Rebecca Miller, 20, of Somerville, Ohio, died
Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. She was born June 9,
1979 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of William and Shirley (Schatzle)
Miller. She was a 1997 graduate of Talawanda High School and earned her
Associate degree in Applied Business from Miami University in May of 1999.
Since May she has worked at the Ohio State University
Extension Office in Hamilton as a secretary.
Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, Oct.
20, at St. Mary¹s Catholic Church in Oxford. Burial was in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery, Oxford.

Richard C. Kuertz
Richard Cornell Kuertz, Sr., 94, of Hamilton,
died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999. He was born February, 25, 1905 in Brecon, Ohio.
He married Mary Anna Kolman on June 19, 1929 in Reading, Ohio, and she
preceded him in death on April 23, 1993.
Mr. Kuertz worked as a meat manager for Kroger
for many years prior to buying and running the Kuertz Grocery on Vine Street
in Hamilton.
Visitation and a Scottish Rite Ring Service were
held Wednesday evening. Funeral services are private.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor¹s
choice.

Earsie May MacElwee
Earsie May MacElwee, 86, died Friday, Oct. 15,
1999 at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Ind. She was born in Berea,
Ky., on March 18, 1913. She married Thomas MacElwee on Oct. 21, 1967 in
Maryland.
She is survived by two children, Boyd Bowman of
West Alexandria, Ohio and Alberta Deaton of Beattyville, Ky.; one brother,
Raymond Flinchum of Watertown, N.Y.; and one sister, Opal Howard, of Eaton,
Ohio.
R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home in
Camden was in charge of arrangements. A graveside service was held at at
Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton.

Mary (Buck) Kratz Price
Mary (Buck) Kratz Price, 79, of Liberty, Indiana
died Thursday evening, Oct. 7, 1999 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital
of complications due to Parkinson¹s Disease. She was born June 16,
1920 in Springfield, Ohio. She graduated from College Corner High School.
She taught Home Economics and English in the Union County School System
at College Corner.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 10, 1999 at
the Liberty Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Hopewell Cemetery, Preble
County, Ohio. The Smith and Ogle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Liberty
Presbyterian Church, Liberty, Indiana.

Joyce E. Pence
Joyce E. Pence, 51, of Liberty, Ind., died Tuesday,
Oct. 12 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on Sept.
29, 1948, in Connersville, Ind., she married Robert Pence on July 27, 1982
in Connersville.
Pence had been employed by J & J Packaging
in Brookville, Ind., as a quality control agent for the past five years.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 15 at the Showalter-Blackwell-Long
Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty. Burial was at Springersville
Cemetery in Fayette County, Ind.

Charles E. Pierce Sr.
Charles E. Pierce Sr., 71, of Brownsville, Ind.,
died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999 at the Hillcrest Estates Nursing Home in Liberty,
Ind. He was born on Dec. 9, 1922 in Wayne County, Ind.
Pierce was an army veteran of WWII. He worked
for several years at Wayne Dairy. He also worked for Servomation and as
the grand operator for the Union County Highway Department, from where
he retired in 1988.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16 at
the Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker Fosdick Chapel in Liberty.
Burial was at Abington Cemetery in Abington, Ind.

Irene D. Studrawa, 67, of Tiffin, Ohio died Thursday,
Oct. 14, 1999 at the Autumnwood Care Center. She was born on Nov. 15, 1931,
in Brookville, Ind.
Studrawa was a graduate of McGuffey High School
in Oxford and earned a business degree from Miami University in 1955. She
worked as a homemaker.
A Catholic funeral service was held on Oct. 18
at the Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial was at St. Marys Cemetery
in Tiffin.

Roy E. Williams, 89, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday,
Oct. 12, 1999, in Eaton. He was born on Sept. 11, 1910 in Preble County.
He married Elinor Spitler on July 2, 1952 in Camden, Ohio.
Williams was a veteran of the United States Army
and farmed in the Preble County area.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 15 at
the R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home. Burial was at Fairmount
Cemetery in Camden.

Charles B. Peterka
Charles B. Peterka, 91, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio,
died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999 in Cleveland.
He was a foreman and millwright at Park Drop Forge,
having worked there for 35 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday,
Oct. 20, at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home in Twinsburg, Ohio. Cremation followed,
with interment in Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland.

Donald L. Hornsby
Donald L. Hornsby, 63, of College Corner, Ohio,
died Thursday evening, Oct. 14, 1999, at Mercy South Hospital in Fairfield,
Ohio. He was born on Sept. 12, 1936 in Bethany, Ohio. He married Esther
Lackey on July 19, 1957, in Brookville, Ind.
He lived most of his life in the College Corner
area, and worked as a custodian at Miami University for 36 years, retiring
in 1992.
Services were held on Monday, Oct. 18 at the Showalter-Blackwell
Funeral Home, Baker Chapel in College Corner. Burial was at the College
Corner Cemetery.

John E. Baker
John E. Baker, 59, died suddenly, Wednesday,
Oct. 20, 1999 in Reily, Ohio. He was born July 10, 1940 in Hamilton County.
He graduated from Reily High School with the class of 1958. After graduating
from high school, he joined the military where he spent 16 years serving
in the Marine Corps and four years in the Navy.
A memorial service was held Sunday at the McGonigle-Millville
United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Millville Cemetery.

in charge of the services.

Margaret Faye Crane
Margaret Faye Crane, 47, of Liberty, Ind., died
Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She
was born on April 10, 1952 in Sunman, Ind. On Feb. 8, 1976 she married
Terry A. Crane in Somerville, Ohio.
She attended nursing school at Ivy Tech and at
I.U. East University. Crane worked as an L.P.N. at McCullough-Hyde Hospital
in Oxford for 16 years and for one year at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at Showalter-Blackwell-Long
Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty. Burial was at College Corner
Cemetery in W. College Corner, Ind.

Gertrude V. Jenkins, 84, a former resident of
Liberty, Ind., died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville,
Ind. She was born on June 15, 1915 in Union County, Ind.
She worked as a clerk for Kroger and Ross Supermarket
in Liberty, and retired from the Driggs Shoe Store where she worked as
a clerk.

Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty.
Burial was at West Point Cemetery in Liberty.

Charles H. McClellan
Charles H. McClellan, 83, died Saturday, Oct.
16 at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio.
He was born on June 5, 1916 in Hamilton. On July
29, 1939 he married Marjorie Williams in Hamilton.
He was a member of the Golf Course Superintendents
Association of America and of Cincinnati. He worked for 18 1/2 years as
superintendent of Potters Park Golf Course in Hamilton, and was named as
the first superintendent of the newly-constructed Hueston Woods Golf Course
from which he retired in 1975. Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19 at the
Showalter-Blackwell Funeral Home, Baker Chapel in College Corner, Ohio.
Burial was at the College Corner Cemetery. The American Legion and V.F.W.
Posts of Liberty, Ind. conducted Military Graveside Rites.

Irene Bockover, 83, from Brookville, Ind., died
Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Brookville Health Care. She was born on Feb.
2, 1916. On May 9, 1936, she married John E. Bockover of Brookville.
For seven years, Bockover was employed as a cook
at McCullough-Hyde Hospital. She lived in Oxford for 40 years and in Florida
for 20.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Phillips
& Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery
in Brookville.

Bernard A. Harrison, 83, of Brookville, Ind.,
died October 18, 1999 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born May
15, 1916 in Muncie, Ind.
He was a farmer and had farmed and lived in Franklin
County, Ind. for much of his life.
He married Rosemary Frey on Sept. 13, 1947 at
Holy Guardian Angel Church. Funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 28
at Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Cedar Grove, Ind. Burial was
in Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Cedar Grove.

Rhonda Leigh (Morgan) Hutson, 52, died Wednesday,
Oct. 27, 1999, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was
born on March 14, 1947, in Vermillion, S.D. On July 4, 1970 she married
Ronald C. Hutson in Clovis, N.M.
In 1984 the Hutsons moved to Camden, as she worked
as a kindergarten teacher at the McGuffey Foundation School in Oxford.

Nein and SonsThompson Funeral Home with her family officiating. Burial
was at the Portales Cemetery in Portales, N.M.

Goldie Mae Jacks, 64, died October 26, 1999.
She was born June 19, 1935. She married Jim Jacks on December 15, 1954
in Williamsport, Indiana.
There are no services scheduled, but when she
was asked how she would like things done, her reply was "please send no
flowers, but I would like the money to be donated to the McCullough-Hyde
Oncology Clinic and/or Vitas (Hospice)."

Ester Marie Rice
Ester Marie Rice, 71, of Oxford, died Saturday,
Oct. 30, 1999, at her home. She was born on Nov. 14, 1927. She was a member
of the 1946 graduating class of Ross High School.
After graduation she married Alex Rice of Oxford.
For 10 years Rice worked as a food service assistant
at Miami University, and was then employed as a cook and housemother at
Sigma Phi Epsilon from where she retired in 1989.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 2
at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home. Burial was at the Millville Cemetery.
Rice¹s family has suggested that memorials
