| Oolaita Louise Puckett
Oolaita Louise (Wheeler) Puckett, known as Oola
to family and friends, died Aug. 30, 1999 at her residence. She was 91.
She was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on Jan.
1, 1908. She married Marvin H. Puckett on Feb. 20, 1932 in Hamilton, Ohio.
Marvin and Oola lived in Hamilton until 1946 when
they moved to Oxford. They remained residents of Oxford until this month,
when they moved back to Hamilton.
There were no services. Cremains were buried in
the Oxford Cemetery in a private family gathering.
The family suggests memorials to the charity of
one's choice, or to the Haven House, 321 Maple Ave., Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
The Webb Noonan Funeral Home of Hamilton was in
charge of arrangements.

James William Remley
James William Remley, 81, of Liberty, Ind., died
Monday, Sept. 6, 1999 at his residence.
He was born in Fayette County, Ind. on Sept. 14,
1917. He lived all his life in Fayette, Franklin or Union counties.
He farmed in Union County and then worked for
Union County Farm Bureau Co-op, managing the Cottage Grove Branch.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 9,
at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty,
Ind.
Burial was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Boston,
Ind.

Chester Woods
Chester Woods, 69, of Bath, Ind., died Friday,
Sept. 3, 1999 at Fort Hamilton-Hughes Hospital in Hamilton.
He was born October 25, 1929 in Saul, Ky. He married
Julia Turner on August 5, 1949. They came to Franklin County from Fairfield
in 1971. In 1981 he retired from General Motors Corporation.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at
Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home of Brookville, Ind. Burial was in Springfield
Cemetery, Brookville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Cancer Society.

Martha E. Kingery
Martha E. Kingery, 79, of Oxford, died Wednesday
afternoon, Sept. 8, 1999 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. She was
born on April 27, 1920 in Fairhaven, Ohio.
She graduated from Union County High School with
the class of 1938. In 1948, she married Paul Kingery and they lived and
farmed outside of College Comer, Ohio.Funeral services were held Tuesday,
Sept. 14, at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home.

Flora Lambert
Flora Lambert, 82, of Oxford, died Wednesday morning
Sept. 8, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. She was bom on Sept. 14,
1916 in Sodium, Ohio.
On October 17, 1932 she married Harold Raymond
Lambert in Liberty Indiana. For over 50 years she farmed and worked in
the Liberty and Richmond Indiana area.Funeral services were held Saturday,
Sept. 11, at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home. Burial was in the Somerville
Cemetery, Somerville.

Betty Faye Ramey
Betty Faye Ramey, 57, of Webster, Ind., died Wednesday,
Sept. 8 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Batesville, Ind.,
on March 23, 1942, she married Homer Daniel Ramey on Feb. 24, 1963, in
Liberty, Ind.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 13, at Christ
United Church in Richmond, with Dewey Hughes officiating. Burial was at
Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Ind.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Christ
United Church or to the Reid Hospital Hospice.

Thomas G. Weidenbach
Thomas G. Weidenbach, 88, of Hamilton, died at
11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born July
21, 1911 in Liberty, Ind. He married Virgie Kathryn Smith on March 27,
1935 in Lexington, Ky., and she preceded him in death in January 1999.
He attended the College Corner School system,
and was a self-employed farmer who retired after 50 years in 1984.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 11 at the
Rose Hill Cemetery Chapel in Hamilton. Burial was at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Birchwood
Care Center Activities Fund, or the Allison Ave. Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Lenard L. Ziglar
Lenard L. Ziglar, 78, of Oxford, died Friday,
Sept. 10, 1999. He was born in Bellevue, Ky. on October 17, 1920. Lenard
was a graduate of Bellevue High School and the University of Cincinnati,
with a degree in social work.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August of 1942.
He married Ruth Albershardt on March 30, 1946 and they celebrated their
53rd wedding anniversary this year.
During his lifetime, he was a YMCA boys work secretary
in Cincinnati, Sterling, Ill. and Toledo, Ohio; manager of the Cincinnati
Children's Home, Butler County Children's Home and General Protestant Orphans
Home over a span of 20 years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Smith
and Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford, with Pastor John Mittermaier officiating.
The family has suggested memorials be made to
the Oxford Senior Citizens Center.

Elsa Weidner
Elsa Weidner, 86, formerly of Oxford, died June
7, 1999 in Miami, Okla.
She is survived by her daughter, Gale Freno, and
her son, Dr. Scott B. Anthony.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m.
at the Oxford Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Main St., Oxford. The Smith and
Ogle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jean S. Perin
Jean Spargur Perin, 80, of Oxford, died Thursday,
Sept. 9, 1999 at her home. She was born Sept. 22, 1918.
She married Charles T. Perin Jr., also of Hillsboro,
on Dec. 27, 1941. They moved to Oxford when her husband became a professor
of psychology at Miami University. She was a long-term volunteer for the
McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Oxford, contributing a total
of 2,198 hours of service in the hospital gift shop and was designated
as one of the first volunteers of the month in 1990.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 14,
at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford, and on Thursday, Sept. 16,
at the Turner and Son Funeral Home, 602 North High St., Hillsboro, Ohio.
Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
The family has suggested memorials may be made
to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Oxford, Ohio, Highland
County Historical Society or to the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church.

Frank B. Pea
Frank B. Pea, 77, of Oxford, formerly of Connersville,
Ind., died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999 in Mercy Hospital in Hamilton. He was
born November 27, 1921 in Connersville. On January 24, 1953 he married
Betty Crawley, who preceded him in death on July 17, 1978.
Pea worked for the Cohen Brothers in Connersville
for over 20 years. He later moved to Oxford and worked helping local farmers.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 18
at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial was in the Dale Cemetery
in Connersville.

Ruth Pearson Stauffer
Ruth Stauffer, 96, formerly of Brookville, Ohio,
died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 at the Lutheran Memorial Home in Sandusky.
She was born August 19, 1903 near West Milton, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Miami University, Oxford,
and taught for many years in the Brookville school system, retiring in
1973. There was a family burial service at the Grace Episcopal Church in
Sandusky on Sept. 12 and a service at the Gilbert-Fellers Funeral Home
in Brookville, Ohio on Sept. 13. Burial followed in the Arlington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Historical
Society of Brookville, Ohio 45039 or to the donor's favorite charity.

Betty H. Herold
Betty H. Herold, of Oxford, died Sunday, Sept.
19, 1999 at Mercy Hospital, Hamilton. She was born May 13, 1913 in Oxford.
She married Henry G. Herold Sr. in 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He preceded
her in death in May of 1961.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church,
St. Mary's Ladies Society, Oxford Business and Professional Women's Club,
McCullough-Hyde Hospital Auxiliary Board, Oxford Women's Club, and the
P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She served as Miami University Simpson Guest House
hostess and was awarded the Dave Roberts Service Award in 1997 for her
service.
A family graveside service was held Sept. 24 at
Mt. Olivet Cemetery following a memorial mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church
in Oxford.
Memorials may be made in her memory to: Hospice
of Cincinnati, Hamilton Unit, 100 Riverfront Plaza, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.

Roy Waggener Jr.
Roy "Bob" Waggener Jr., 83, of Connersville, Ind.,
died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999 at his home. He was born September 15, 1916
in Rushville, Indiana.
He was married May 28, 1938 to Emily Lou Stine.
He was a lifelong resident of Rush and Fayette
counties in Indiana. He founded and remained active at the Sampler Furniture
Co. in Homer, Indiana, for many years. His body was donated to the Indiana
University Medical Center.
A public remembrance concert will be held at 4
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999 at the Rushville Elks Club, with Albert Hodge
serving as M.C.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Hospice
of Decatur County, the Rush County Community Foundation, or the Rush County
Historical Society.
