Charles "Chuck" Warren, 52, of Oxford, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999 at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1946 in Hamilton, the son of Ralph and Mary (Potter) Warren.

He was a 1964 graduate of Talawanda High School, where he was active in football, baseball and wrestling.

He is survived by his wife Fritzi (Wellman) Warren; one daughter, Alison; a sister, Janet and her husband Al Jones; two nieces, Leslie Jones and Lisa and her husband Greg Lambert and their daughters Jasmine and Jade; two sisters-in-law, Anna and her husband Ed Rybat and their son Marcus and Vera and Gary Gregg; a special cousin, Joyce Davis and her husband Harry; as well as many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Kumler Chapel on the Western Campus of Miami University.

Lillie B. Moore 

Lillie B. Moore, 83, former Liberty, Ind. resident, died Thursday, July 8, 1999 at the Heritage Regency Nursing Home in Richmond, Ind.

She was born in Irvin, Ky. to Milt and Ella Richardson Wilson on April 26, 1916. She lived in Liberty since 1952.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Moore Sr., of Richmond, Ind.; sons, Dale Long, of W. College Corner, Ind., Jim Moore, Virgil Moore and Gary Moore, of Liberty, Ind., and Harold Frame, of New Castle, Ind.; daughters, Mildred Allen and Cathy Havens, of Richmond, Ind., Mary Jane Lantz, of Goshen, Ind., Jane Darden, of Riverside, Calif. and Shirley Lakes of Connersville, Ind.; sisters, Rosie Hornsby, of College Corner, Ohio, Reva Harden, of Middletown, Ohio and Velma Kelly of Richmond, Ky.; 26 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Moore Jr.; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services were held Monday at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty, Ind. The Rev. Willie Russell officiated. Burial followed in College Corner Cemetery, W. College Corner, Ind.

Lula Seymour 

Lula Seymour, 77, of Oxford, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield.

She was born March 18, 1922 in Corbin, Ky., the daughter of William and Dora (Richmond) Inman. She married James Seymour in March of 1949 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1994.

She is survived by seven children: Gloria and her husband Mike Bower of Oxford; Karen and her husband George Baldwin of Trenton; Debbie and her husband Mike Huffman of Oxford; Joy and her husband Brad Peters of Brookville, Ohio; Timothy Seymour of Hamilton; Ronald Seymour and is wife Linda of Ross; and Paul Seymour and his wife Lisa of Reily; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Inman and Cleamon Inman; and two sisters, Vergie Webster and Lena Boggess.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Oxford Church of God. The Smith and Ogle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Richard T. Coltharp 

Richard "Rick" Coltharp, 34, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999.

He was born April 10, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Jerry and Evelyn (Such) Coltharp. He was a graduate of Talawanda High School with the class of 1983 where he was the Field Commander of the marching band.

He is survived by his mother, and step-father, Myron Mesler of Oxford; one brother, James Coltharp of Washington, D.C.; one grandmother, Jewel Coltharp of Lindale, Texas; seven step-brothers and one step-sister.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A memorial service is being held Monday, July 19 at Kumler Chapel on the Western Campus of Miami University. 

The Smith and Ogle Funeral Home, 101 W. Church St., Oxford, is in charge of the arrangements.

Boyd Tackett 

Boyd Tackett, 79, of Camden, died Sunday, July 11, 1999 at Fort Hamilton-Hughes Hospital in Hamilton.

He was born Feb. 26, 1920 in Beech Fork, Tenn., the son of the late Tildon and Susie (Daugherty) Tackett. He married Dorothy Mae Mee on Sept. 6, 1941 in Covington, Ky. They had eight children.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Tackett; four sons, Jerry B. (Kathleen) Tackett and Donald G. (Cleda) Tackett, all of Camden; Michael P. (Sherrill) Tackett of Eaton and Richard L. (Tami) Tackett of West Alexandria; four daughters, Anita Susan (Lee) Walker of Indianapolis, Ind., Nancy Louise (Terry) Miller of Eaton, Marjory Alice (Rick) Davenport of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Christina Mae Tackett of Camden; 13 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tildon Tackett and Susie Goodman; one brother, Ova Tackett; one sister, Christine Tackett; a half brother, Junior; and a half sister, Opal.

Funeral services were Thursday at the R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main, Camden. The Rev. Keith Spencer officiated. Burial was in the Preble Memory Gardens.

Marie Husted 

Marie Husted, 92, of 215 W. High St., Liberty, Ind. died early Wednesday, July 14, at Hillcrest Estates Nursing Home in Liberty. She was born on March 28, 1907 in Union County, Ind. She lived all her life in the Union County area. On June 28, 1928, she married Paul Kenneth Husted in Liberty. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty. Burial followed at the College Corner Cemetery in W. College Corner, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church.

Jean H. Smith 

Jean Hodgson Smith died June 28, 1999 at a care facility in Boise, Idaho. She was born August 25, 1913 in Dayton, Ohio.

She worked as a dietician at Fort Hamilton-Hughes Hospital until her retirement in 1978. She and her husband, Russel C. Smith, operated a dairy farm west of Oxford until his death in 1992.

Derwin W. Edwards 

Derwin W. Edwards, 82, of Dayton, Ohio died July 15, 1999 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was formerly a resident of Oxford, Ohio. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Oxford.

He was born in Jamestown, N.Y. on April 27, 1917.

He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1935 and entered Miami University where he received a bachelor's degree in 1940.

He retired from teaching in 1980 and returned to the Dayton area after living in Oxford and Florida.

Private services and internment are in Jamestown, N.Y. A local memorial service will be announced at a later time.

Ruthel E. Brown 

Ruthel E. Brown, 86, of 2 E. South St. in Liberty, Ind. died Wednesday evening at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind. She was born on January 21, 1913 in Liberty, Ky.

She had lived in the Liberty, Ind. area since 1951.

Funeral services took place Monday at the Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty, Ind. Rev. Fred Cox, pastor of her church, officiated.

Burial and public graveside services took place Tuesday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford, Ky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church at the funeral home.

John Christopher Haas 

John Christopher Haas, 27, of 3098 Bath Rd., Bath, Ind., died Thursday, July 15, 1999 from injuries sustained in a tractor accident at his residence. He was born Dec. 22, 1971 in Oxford to John H. and Jeanette Ponder Haas.

He had lived all of his live in the Bath, Ind. area. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Oxford. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Brookville, Ind. and a member of the Bath Conservation Club, Bath, Ind.

He was employed at I.M.C., Kitchel, Ind.

He graduated from Union County High School in 1990 and attended Ball State University.

A funeral mass was conducted at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oxford on Monday. Burial followed in Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery, Cedar Grove, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bath Conservation Club or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Robert Burns 

Robert Burns, 80, of Liberty, Ind., died Thursday, July 15, 1999 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born March 4, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Ky. In 1945 he moved from Kentucky to Liberty, Indiana, where he has been a long-time resident.

He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. before joining the Army in January of 1942, where he served in the South Pacific until being discharged in 1945. He then worked as a construction worker, truck driver and carpenter.

In November of 1946, he married Pearl Webb and they were married for 52 years. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Smith and Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford.

Gladys Sarah Margaretta Van Sickle Young 

Gladys Sarah Margaretta Van Sickle Young, 95, died on July 14 at Woodland Country Manor near Somerville. She was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia on Oct. 29, 1903.

She married Frank G. Young of London, Ohio, on Nov. 25, 1926. She and her husband moved to Oxford in 1931 and remained life-long residents.

A memorial service was held in her honor on Saturday, July 17 at the Kingdon Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Oxford.

R.C. Nein & Sons - Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, assisted the family with arrangements.

Kenneth A. Ramsey 

Kenneth A. Ramsey, 94, of 269 E. Pearl St., Whiteford, Ind., died in Indianapolis on Sunday, July 18. He was born in Preble County on Aug. 11, 1904. He lived in the Bath and College Corner areas all of his life.

He was a member of the Bath United Methodist Church and farmed most of his life in Franklin and Union counties in Indiana. He retired from Miami University around 1974 after approximately 15 years in the housing department. He married Edna C. Johnson on Jan. 22, 1930 in Fairhaven, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Bath United Methodist Church in Bath, Ind. Burial was in College Corner Cemetery. Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel in College Corner was in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorials to the Bath United Methodist Church.

Audrey Nadine Prince, 75, of Englewood, died Saturday, July 17, at Harborside Nursing Center in Troy.

Nannie P. Warner 

Nannie P. Warner, 77, of Hamilton, died Saturday, July 10, 1999 at the Oxford View Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 1, 1922 in Ford, Ky.

She was employed at Miami University in Oxford for 10 years, working in the cafeteria, and retiring in 1982.

She married James E. Warner in December, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Funeral services were July 13 at the Colligan Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
