Olga Bibza Adkins
Olga Bibza Adkins, 90, professor emerita of health
and physical education at Miami University, died Dec. 7, 1998, at Wheatland
Nursing Center in Russell, Kan. Adkins joined Miami's faculty in 1955,
retiring after 22 years of teaching.

Dorothy Himes
Dorothy Himes, 73, of W. Old Brownsville Road,
Liberty, Ind., died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial
Hospital. Shewas born on April 23, 1925, in McKee, Ky.
She had lived in the Union County area since 1950.
Funeral services were held at the Showalter-Blackwell-Long
Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, Saturday, Dec. 12. Burial
was at Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer
Fund in her memory at the funeral home.

James C. Redway
James C. Redway, Camden, formerly of Xenia, died
Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. Redway was
born Aug. 31, 1919, in Campbell, Ohio. He married Helen Fouts on March
30, 1939, in Eaton, Ohio.
He served in the United States Navy from 1941
to 1046. He was employed at N.C.R. for 20 years and later was employed
at Merchant Security. He was a former chief-of-police in the village of
Camden, and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars 2402 of Xenia.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at the St. Mary's
Catholic Church, 7721 N. Main St., Camden, Thursday, Dec. 17. Burial was
at the Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association,
3797 Summit Glen Drive, Dayton.

Steven Robert Woodruff
Steven R. Woodruff, 43, of Oxford, died Wednesday,
Dec. 16, at Fort Hamilton Hospital after an illness of a year and a half.
He was born in Hamilton Aug. 23, 1955 and was a 1973 graduate of Talawanda
High School. He farmed for Oxford area farmers for 22 years and for the
past three years was employed at Cincinnati Financial.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 19,
at St. Mary Catholic Church. Smith & Ogle Funeral Home assisted with
the arrangements.

Maxine J. (Smith) Browning
Maxine J. (Smith) Browning, 82, 215 W. High St.,
Liberty, Ind., died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Reid Hospital, Richmond,
Ind. She was born in Union County, Ind., on Feb. 7, 1916. She spent much
of her life in Union County.
Funeral services were held at Showalter-Blackwell-Long
Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, Ind., Thursday, Dec. 24. Burial
was at West Point Cemetery, Liberty.

Warren Hoel
Warren Hoel, 77, of Camden, died Sunday, Dec.
13, 1998, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. He was born on May 14, 1921,
in Somerville, Ohio. He married Christine Mullins on Dec. 24, 1942, in
Coleman, Texas. Hoel served in the United States Air Force and was employed
at Hamilton Tool for 25 years retiring in 1984.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 18, at
the R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden. Burial was at Fairmount
Cemetery in Camden.

Ellis M. McDill, 80, formerly of Liberty, Ind.,
died at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla., on Dec. 15,
1998. He was born in Liberty, Ind., on Oct. 7, 1918. He farmed in Union
County all of his adult life.
Burial was at the College Corner Cemetery, W.

Martha V. Rader, 95, of 11049 St. Road 101, Brookville,
Ind., died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital,
Oxford. She was born on Nov. 26, 1903, in Bath, Ind. She had lived all
her life in the Franklin County area.

W. College Corner, Ind.

Paul H. Smucker
Paul H. Smucker, of Orrville, Ohio and a Miami
University graduate, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, following a short illness.
He was the grandson of Jerome M. Smucker, founder of the J.M. Smucker Company,
and spent his entire career with the company with the exception of his
service as a naval officer during World War II.
He was a graduate of Miami University and also
received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Miami.
A memorial service will be held at the Ohio Agricultural
Research and Development Center in Wooster on Jan. 9.

Mary E. Ulrich, 99, a resident of Greenbriar
Nursing Home, Eaton, Ohio, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at McCullough-Hyde
Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Mrs. Ulrich was born Aug. 30, 1899, in Lanier
Township. She married Russell E. Ulrich on Aug. 25, 1926, in Covington,
Ky.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 21, at
the R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden. Burial followed
at the Twin Valley Cemetery near Gratis.

Thomas L. Wing, 38, of Middletown, died Saturday,
Dec. 19, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital. Wing was born on March
19, 1960, in Hamilton, Ohio. He was a maintenance technician by trade.
